Gustapanino did not just feel like a restaurant, it felt like we were dining at someone's home in the best way possible. Food selection was great! Could not go wrong with selecting any dish from the menu. Recommend the eggplant crostinis with the caramelized onions, the pasta with sausage and truffle, and the meatballs. Everything was flavorful! Also, I recommend dining outside, as you're basically dining under the Basilica di Santo Spirito! Such a dramatic backdrop as you're enjoying your food. Would love to come back and try their sandwiches for take away. Shoutout to Pasquale for keeping such a welcoming environment, and to Ryan for such excellent service!

This place has seriously great reviews, so we wanted to try it and see what all the hype was about… It’s definitely one of the better spots for traditional Italian food in the area! Service was excellent; friendly, helpful, and on-point! Their menu is also great, as they have all the popular items, plus many more that are interesting and fun. We were a group of four and tried several items that we all shared and we enjoyed everything. Save room for dessert, they do a very nice job with those as well. I don’t think they offer reservations, so you need to get there early to try to grab a seat. They do have tons of seating in the courtyard area outside, so the wait isn’t long, as long as the weather is conducive to sitting outside. Inside is rather small though. Absolutely loved everything we tried and would return!

This restaurant was our first dinner in Florence. Straight to the point. The food was excellent, and even though it rained, the atmosphere was still warm. Service was fast and very friendly. We sat outside under an umbrella despite the rain. The mood was perfect. The neighboring restaurant had no one.

Super glad we decided to come eat here while we were in Florence! Got to eat the best versions of some of my favorite Italian dishes that I try to make at home! Food was excellent and the atmosphere in the neighborhood is unbeatable. Highly recommend stopping by here if you are in the Ponte Vecchio/Oltrarno area!

Google
A great spot in Florence. We were seated right away with no wait, and every staff member was friendly and polite, which we’ve come to really appreciate after a few chaotic meals elsewhere. The courtyard atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, the food was excellent, and the prices were fair. We had the eggplant parm and the spaghetti and meatballs. Not fine dining, more of a family-style place, but definitely worth a visit if you want good food and a relaxed environment.

Google
Best meal we had in Florence. We stopped here on a whim on our last night and everything was amazing but the BURGER was the best burger I've had in ages. And the truffle, sausage pasta was a standout. Excellent service, excellent ambiance. Loved everything! Love you forever

Google
Been coming to Florence for 10 years and have found this to consistently be one of the best local restaurants located in Santo Spirito. The cacio e pepe is outstanding. They have the best focaccia bread in town. Pasquale runs an amazing crew including Edoardo, Ryan and Andrea with excellent service. Highly recommend trying this place for dinner or lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
While wandering around town, we found this restaurant and after seeing it highly rated, we decided to try it out. Even though it was the middle of the day, we didn't have to wait terribly long to be sat down. We ordered the Carbonara, Lasagna, and spaghetti with veal meatballs. Everything was brought out hot and fresh. Pasta was all cooked al dente, and the taste of food excellent. The weather was perfect during our visit, so we enjoyed eating out in the piazza. Would definitely recommend stopping on by here for a meal!

Yelp
Excellent! Owner is very kind and gave us great service. It is right near the santo spritio market so great location. Gave us discount and free wine. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
The best place to go for dinner in Florence, hands down. For my long stay in Florence, my friends and I repeatedly came back here. There's so many great things on the menu, you cannot go wrong. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone and would to anything to have another meal here.

Yelp
Simple. Delicious. Wait staff very friendly. Been back 2 times this week. What's better than sitting outside eating Italian meats & cheese with wine? Life doesn't get better.

Yelp
Incredible food and service. We went back multiple nights and loved it each time! It felt very authentic and they made us feel like family. The best part was how sweet Pasquale, the owner was to my grandma. He was a complete gentleman and made her feel so special going out of his way to assist her.

Yelp
I am an Italian food snob. I think this chain is using dried pasta base and our lasagna bolognese was average American dish at best, which is not commonly said in Italy, unless foreign owned.

Yelp
Fabulous. Molto bene! Delicious food. Chianti Wine. Ordered two bottles for our group. Bellisimo. Fabulous plaza for the kids to play in. While we dined for 2 hours.

Yelp
Gustapanino is an awesome restaurant with great food, service, and atmosphere. The outside seating in the town square made it all that more memorable. Thanks to Pasquale and the entire team for making us feel at home. Look forward to visiting again in June!! Grazie per la serata incredibile!

Yelp
Tourist trap. Disgusting. awful food. Don't fall for it. They give customers bribes (limoncello) to leave a review.

Yelp
The owner personally served us and we had some of the best food we have had in Italy so far. Try the bruschetta - amazing

Yelp
THIS. This restaurant is the one my group could not stop talking about. We had made jokes throughout our trip that some restaurants were good, but did not make us "transcend". This restaurant was transcendant! The absolute fan favorite was definitely the eggplant appetizer. We have never tasted eggplant in that way. The member in our group had to fight us off from "tasting" more bites of his dish. It was that good- definitely recommend that if stopping by. Additionally, the tortellini was delicious! Genuinely a 10/10, the highlight restaurant of our trip. The restaurant itself is also quite cozy and cute. It's very aesthetically pleasing. When we walked out we also had the pleasure to thank the chef. Bravissimo!

Yelp
We enjoyed this place so much! So friendly, attentive service, and great pasta dishes! Inexpensive and jammed with locals, a very short walk from Uffizi! Try it!

Ted A.

Yelp
Gustapanino is perfect! Amazing little restaurant with large outdoor seating area that has such an amazing vibe!! The service is incredible and they make you feel like family. Ask for recommendations and they always nail it! Don't forget to visit GustaPizza before the line gets too big!!

Yelp
Fantastic experience, on the beautiful Piazza Santo Spirito, the food was delicious, the owner and staff doted on us, selected our wines and made our family feel like locals, as if we lived in their Santo Spirito community. It was our favorite meal in Florence and we look forward to returning again someday, believe the reviews, we'll cherish our memories of our evening at Gustapanino.

Yelp
The owner of this restaurant is the kindest man ever. He is so sweet and deserves the world, the food is amazing, the service is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, everything about this place is amazing. I can't emphasize how great the owner, staff, and restaurant are.

Yelp
Awesome place and the staff was great! The whole neighborhood was watching the soccer game or hearing it on radio. It was exciting to hear all the customers and staff rooting for the game. The manager/ owner gave my wife and I a small glass of wine each while we waited for the huge awesome burger, yes burger! I was craving a burger and wanted to see how it was made in Italy. Let me tell you all, it was great and very delicious. My wife and I had a hard time sharing one burger, it was huge.my wife and I went back the next day to give them more business but unfortunately it was closed. Highly recommend this place whenever in Italy. Great people and great food!!! The ambiance was great. Tables outside and nicely decorated.

Janina T.

Yelp
Their pasta is so good. Just don't order the tuna salad unless you love canned tuna. They're a little busy so had to wait to pay but it was not a problem as we were not in a hurry.

Dianne E.

Yelp
Love it here! Will definitely come back again! Edo & the owner wer great. Great food & vibes

Yelp
This place is a great location in an amazing part of town. Reasonable prices, good portions, fantastic service !

Noelle K.

Yelp
My friends and I went for an early dinner here and it was wonderful. We ordered lasagna, spaghetti and rossinis which were all delicious. For me, the lasagna was one of the best meals I've had on our trip to Florence. Our drinks arrived to the table a little later than our meal but we were too busy people watching and enjoying the outside seating inside the picturesque Santo Spirito square to mind. The best and most memorable part of our experience was when we went to pay for our meal at the end of the night and were given free limonchello shots! Overall a wonderful evening and very worth a stop if you're in Santo Spirito.

Sandra S.

Yelp
First night in Florence and so glad we came here to kick off our Italian vacation! The food was SO delish and the outdoor seating on the piazza was lively and inviting. The owner was SUPER welcoming and took the time on a busy weekend night to speak with me individually about a food allergy so I could feel comfortable ordering. We shared the eggplant crostini with caramelized onions (TO DIE FOR good!!) and the farmers pasta without anchovies. Almost wish I hadn't ordered the fresh buffalo mozzarella with shaved fennel and oranges because I was full but then it arrived looking so amazing and tasted even better!! To top it all off, we received complimentary limoncello with the very reasonable bill. This place is on my "must return " list and definitely should be on yours as well!!

Denise R.

Yelp
Wow! We stayed just steps away from this beautiful square- the heart of the community. This restaurant was exceptional! The friendly staff , the outdoor ambiance and the FOOD! We were fortunate to have been there while an outdoor concert was happening on the steps to the Santo Sprito church . Pinch me ! It was one of the most memorable nights for us while visiting Florence and Oltrano.

Yelp
Gusta Panino is a very good restaurant located on the opposite side of the river from all of the museums. If you are in the heart of Florence, it is a short taxi ride. If your hotel is close to the river, it is walkable. If you take a taxi, it cannot drop you off in the front of the restaurant. It will drop you off just around the corner. The restaurant is located in a pedestrian only area. As most Italian restaurants go, they are not in a hurry. If you are in a hurry, you need to clearly tell them that you are. You can take a very long time to be served dinner or like I said, if you're in a hurry, let them know and they will do it faster. Tonight, we had two different dishes. We had the good gnocchi salmon with zucchini cream sauce and we had the Mediterranean artesian macaroni with tuna. As an appetizer we had the cheese and honey board. I posted pictures of all three. All of the dishes were very good and freshly made. Extremely good flavors and well put together. We both enjoyed the dishes immensely and would highly recommend both of them. They have a small selection of wines but all of them are very well priced. We had a bottle of Rosso di Montepulcaino for $26. In the States, it would be much more. Their entire list of wines were very well priced. One note that you should be aware of is that Yelp says they are closed on Monday. This is true during the off-season but not during the summer months. If you want to go on a Monday, I would suggest you call first to make sure they are open. We went on a Monday and it was extremely busy and bustling. I highly recommend reservations. Bottom line - very good food with a hard-working staff. We really enjoyed it. Food was delicious. An easy five stars. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. Bon appétit.

Yelp
A fantastic Firenze gem located in the heart of Santo Spirito. We stumbled on this and keep returning. The pasta dishes are fresh, delicious and have their own twist that you don't find anywhere else - making Gustapanino something special and unique. Even the non-Italian dishes like their hamburger is something worth trying. This is a definite must-eat spot for any foodie looking for delicious Italian cuisine and beyond.

Yelp
First night in Florence and had a wonderful dinner experience at Gustapanino! The staff were kind, attentive and helpful with us as we do not speak Italian. Food was delicious! I had the parpadelle with cinghiale and my husband had the lasagna and stewed beef with mashed potatoes. Soooo good! I would definitely bring my family back here the next time we visit !

Brigit B.

Yelp
This is one of several "Gusta" eateries/bar on and around Santo Spirito, and this one is right on S.S., in my opinion the best location on the square. Owners Pasquale and his wife Claudia are fabulously friendly (he's a character!), and the food is top-top-top. I went crazy for the Schiacciata Calabrese, which is not so surprising since the family hails from Calabria! A must go for your next panino jones, but be aware the pasta and other offerings are excellent too.

Devon M.

Yelp
This is such a great restaurant the truffle pasta is the best thing I've eaten in Florence the owner Pasquale is so kind and funny. The ambiance is amazing right in Santo Sprito.

Miranda P.

Yelp
I have never had a better experience. Everything about this place was absolutely perfect and wonderful. Want amazing drinks? Come here. Want a simple, delicious, AND inexpensive sandwich for an aperitivo? COME HERE! so amazing. Will be coming back. Tomorrow. The day after. And the day after that!

Yelp
This place is so great. Pasquale helped my friends and I get a table for aperitifs -- everyone was so nice and helpful and the drinks were great. such an amazing atmosphere i would definitely check this place out if you're visiting florence. gives you a real feel for the city. 10/10

Kathi A.

Yelp
Pasquale and his staff make everyone feel welcome and at home. The meal was delicious and everything tasted fresh and perfect. Prices were so inexpensive and serving sizes were generous. There was a lot of comfortable outdoor seating and excellent services. Come here hungry and enjoy a great meal! We liked it so much we came back 2 times out of our 3 days in Florence.

Yelp
My friends and I are studying in Florence and Gustapanino has become our favorite restaurant! Everything is so delicious and everyone was extremely kind

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant. The food is authentic and fresh. The atmosphere is lovely. And last but not least, the owner Pasquale and his son Eduardo were so hospitable and extremely friend. Grazie Pasquale e Eduardo

Yelp
Very nice place excellent food and good customer service affordable prices and clean bathroom and nice patio

Yelp
One of my most frequented restaurants in florence. They have the best prosecco in town and the location right in front of the basilica is so breathtaking. The food is consistently delicious, but last night i had a particularly perfect experience. Every bite was so delicious, from the zucchini flan that melted in my mouth to the sliced steak on aruccula, tender, juicy and very flavorful. The spinach side dish was perfectly seasoned and fresh. They know my taste of a good italian wine, and pasquale, the owner, always stops for a joke and a good laugh. Absolutely love this restaurant.

Yelp
One of my favorite panini places in Firenze- right in santo spirito square. The panini are so filling, and they are always so fast. You can quickly grab and eat in santo spirito while hanging out with friends l'hamburger di manzo con pomodoro, e pesto was my go to order!! Non vedo l'ora di ritornare

Yelp
This place has the best, tenderest, eggplantiest eggplant parmesan I've ever tasted in my life!! It's a cozy little trattoria across from the Basilica di Santo Spirito with a great menu of Italian favorites and some lovely wines. Our waiters spoke English but it doesn't feel touristy at all. This place was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence and I can't recommend it enough. Did I mention the eggplant parmesan?

Nancy K.

Yelp
Gustapanino was a very fortunate find for us! Best dining experience in Florence--great food in a high energy piazza with very friendly staff. The owner, Pasquale, made every effort to make us feel at home and welcome us like we were family. We let him decide our family-style menu and he did not disappoint--everything was delicious and the bill was remarkably reasonable. Definitely going to be a regular stop for us whenever we are in Florence!

Sheena B.

Yelp
If you're a tourist (especially American) don't bother coming here, they're clearly racist. Not at all a friendly place to foreigners. Came here the first night we were in Florence as we arrived past 11:00pm and were looking for a bite to it. They had stopped serving hot food but they were still serving sandwiches. We ordered the Classico panino which was decent, but the ordering process was super awkward. We weren't offered a table, so we assumed food was takeout only because of the hour, but while we were waiting for our food to be prepared two Italians came in, tried ordering at the counter like us, but then were shown to a table. I thought maybe this was because they were only ordering drinks -- not the case at all, they totally ordered food and it was prepared before ours. Same thing happened the next night, we were looking for a place to eat that was still open at 11:00pm because our internal clocks were still off and we decided to try this place again out of desperation. This time we decided to take a seat at the tables. When after several minutes no one approached us, I finally went up to one of the people that worked there to let them know we were ordering food, to which they replied the kitchen was closed. Which I knew was not the case because they had served sandwiches at that same hour the night before. So I asked the person about ordering a panino, to which he begrudgingly admitted they were still serving. At that moment one of the servers turned to me and said "we coming" so I sat back down. Waited another 15 minutes and was still ignored. That same server literally attended the table next to us 3 times and never looked our way. The last straw was seeing the "we coming" server go out to take a smoke break. We ended up just getting up and leaving.
