The tiniest pizzeria in the Oltrarno neighborhood, with wine barrels instead of tables, and counter service straight with the pizzaiolo.

AMAZING pizza! Best we had on our whole Italy trip. The crust is thick and chewy and delicious. My husband got a white pizza and I got a red pizza and both were equally as delicious. Great prices too! We were stuffed and still had leftovers for later.

Alexis Sabbaghian

Google
Loved the pizza here! We had the margarita, gusta pizza, and the truffle — all were delicious! The hospitality was great as well, our waiter was so nice and funny! Will definitely be back!

Anora Wilson

Google
All our pizzas are delicious.. there was a wait about 30 minutes to get in. If you have a large group take turns beating in line while you get a drink across the road :-) I only complaint with the place was that it was extremely hot and there weren’t enough fans in there. Take a foldable or hand fan with you if you go there in the summer.

Rebecca Hamilton

Google
My friend promised me this would be the best pizza I ever ate and she was correct! We went twice on our trip. The line moved quickly and we were able to enjoy a beverage from GustaBar while we waited. The inside is very warm on a summer day so bring your fan if you plan to be there during that time. Otherwise the pizza was phenomenal.

Ordered the Calabrese and Gustapizza (per the waitresses recommendation). The Calabrese was incredible from start to finish. I’ve never had a better dough in my life. 10/10. Gustapizza very underwhelming. For that being what was recommended, kinda crazy. 6/10. The reason for the three stars is just the inconvenience of it all. Arrived at 6:40, sat at 7:10. Didn’t get served food til 7:50. Over an hour all-in just isn’t worth it for this experience. PRO TIP: order to go, the line moves wayyyyy faster. maybe if we would’ve done that, I could see it being four stars.

Google
Being a very popular pizzeria, expect long waiting times. I would say it’s definitely worth waiting for …. to be seated. Then expect an ever longer wait for your order. However the pizza was absolutely amazing. The tomato base is to die for … quite literally. We ordered the margarita pizza.

Google
We got here just in time! We got one of the last tables outside and then the line started forming and was wrapped around the building. The pizza was so good! I got the pesto and it was so fresh and the dough was cooked perfectly.

Google
I am disappointed. 4.5 stars and 6K reviews but I don’t like they pizza. We spend 45 minutes in line and table when we got our order. We ordered 1 x Napoli, 1 x Tartufo, 1 x beer, 1 x lemonade, 1 x sparkling water. Total price €40. The pizza became soggy very quickly and rubber texture. Very flat flavor.

Yelp
I'm glad I was able to try Gustapizza! It was a nice treat and good experience. Around 1:30 PM, other restaurants were beginning to close, so we wandered over here. There was a line forming along the wall, but we were seated within 15-20 minutes. Between four people, we shared three pizzas and had about 7 slices leftover. They gave us a box for the leftover slices. Gustapizza €12 - This was my favorite! It had fresh arugula on top. The tomatoes were so good. I loved the tomato sauce. Porcini €13 - This was good only because of the sausage. I didn't like how mushy the mushroom was. Cotto e funghi €12 - This was the second best of the three. This also had tomato sauce. The ham and mushroom were good. The table next to us ordered the truffle pizza €15; it smelled so good. I would try that next time. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Pay at cashier. Bathroom is downstairs. No WiFi. Menu is in English. Cover charge €2 per person.

Yelp
THE FOOD The pizza was decent but nothing to rave about. We tried the Margherita and Friarielli. The Margherita had a rich tomato sauce, but it was a bit too heavy on the sauce. The Friarielli was flavorful but bordered on too cheesy, with broccoli rabe that is slightly on the bitter side. If these don't appeal to you, don't worry--the menu has lots of other pizza options to explore. THE PRICE Pretty reasonable, especially considering it's a well-known tourist spot. THE PLACE Prepare for lines! There's one for takeout and one for dine-in, so make sure you're in the right one. The vibe is lively with loud music, outdoor seating, and a definite touristy feel. It's a hip spot, but be ready to wait in lines!

Yelp
Ok everyone always raved about Gusta Pizza and I always dismissed it because it just sounded too good to be true. However I was completely wrong and this place is definitely worth the hype. Their pizza is so delicious. I can't even properly describe how good their tomato sauce is, you just have to try it. Small hack but if you take your pizza to go, you will probably get it faster (if there's a line to sit down).

Yelp
Awesome wood fired pizza in Oltrarno! We waited in line for about 30 minutes before being seated inside. We looked at the menu while in line and felt prepared to order right away since we were so hungry. I was so intrigued by some of the pizzas like the tuna and onion one. I went with the GustaPizza - sauce, mozzarella, arugula, tomatoes, more cheese. My boyfriend got the Calzone opened, which had sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, and salami. I had a glass of wine and we each had a sparkling water, plus an iced tea. Our total was only 39 euro. The pizzas were big and we each could only eat half. I actually loved my boyfriend's pizza even more than mine. It was fun to sit near the pizza oven and watch the workers prep and cook them so quickly. I loved this pizza! Definitely would recommend!
google avatar

Dalena D.

Yelp
Good pizza but it is a tourist trap Pizza was good but nothing extraordinary. The cabrese had a really good spicy salami! The pesto was really good too but it got a little heavy at the end. Because of how popular this place is, I had higher expectations. Probably wouldn't come back
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I walked past the line at this place the other night and told ourselves we would check it out for lunch. We arrived close to opening time and were able to snag an indoor table. Pizzas were delish! We paired them with a bottle of sparkling wine because that is how lunch on vacation should be. We had the Margherita and the Tartufo with prosciutto. Double yum. We followed the lead of the other patrons and used a fork and knife to make our way through the pizzas. They play good music and the people working here are super friendly.

Yelp
OMG! By far the best pizza I ate in Italy. This place was a recommendation from social media as a must try. All the great reviews were correct! Upon arrival, the line was long and around the corner. I was thinking, this is crazy, but soon realize that there was a separate line for ToGO orders. We were able to order the pizza with the exact toppings and receive it in less than 30 minutes. It may have been longer, but the aroma of pizza was wonderful and everyone in line seemed to be in good spirits waiting to be seated, served, or pick up order. We even met a guy that stated he orders almost overnight from this location. Not only was the pizza really tasty, but the price was also beyond reasonable with large portions. We were there a few months ago and now writing this review is making me want to go back to Florence specifically for this pizza. If ever in the area, please try!!! ----Oh I forget to mention that the pizza is cooked right in front of you if you decided to dine in. What an experience.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas places in Florence. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas there. The service is fast and food is great. Already miss this place!
google avatar

Steven I.

Yelp
This is the best pizza I had in Italy! The line was crazy for dine in but they had a separate line for picking up. It's a small place but it was completely packed. I ordered a margarita pizza, it was ready pretty quick, within 20 mins or so and ate it on the curb next to the restaurant, which worked out well. It was fantastic and truly one of the highlights of my trip to Florence.
google avatar

Avery E.

Yelp
Omg-the Gustapizza was the best pizza ever. It was so fresh and flavorful. I loved it so much! Just prepare yourself as an American to cut up your own pizza, and maybe eat it with a fork because the napkins are not enough. It was insanely good! My boyfriend got the calabrese which was spicy! We both liked the Gustapizza more than that one.
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
Gusta Pizza is the best pizza in Florence. It may seem touristy on the surface, but it is not. The employees are all very friendly, and the food is incredible. The tomato's taste freshly picked. The pesto pizza is INSANE. One of a kind. We ended up going twice and my girlfriend made sure of it. We will be back, mark my words Gusta Pizza.
google avatar

Alan H.

Yelp
We wanted to try Neapolitan pizza and looked to Gusta Pizza based on the positive reviews. We ordered Tartufo and Mortadella. The tartufo was good but wished it actually had mushroom topping because it was essentially a truffle cheese pizza with arugula. The mortadella was incredible and it is something that you don't get in the US. Both pizzas being topped off with a Burrata was a nice touch and another layer of cheese to leave you satisfied! We can only imagine how great Neapolitan pizza would have been in Naples!
google avatar

Brett N.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because it was pizza in Italy, so what else would I give it? --- --- --- I initially was going to give Gusta 4-stars, but then I realized I was being a little crazy. Sure, if I am grading it on a curve and only caring it to other Italian pizza, maybe it was a tad lower on my personal all-time favorites list. But it was pizza from Italy. Of course it was bad ass. If you walk up to me on a random day and you ask if I would rather be doing whatever I am currently doing in a given moment -OR- sitting at a pizza shop in Italy stuffing dough, sauce and cheese in my mouth, I'm going to be using my newfound teleporter machine about 99% of the time. We were fortunate enough to walk up and score the last table. By the time we were eating, we noticed the line had built up quite a bit, so be aware that you might not be so lucky. We ordered the margherita and the cotto e funghi. Both hit the spot as our first meal in Italy in 6.5 years. Overall, I'd give it 4-stars for Italy, but 5 for anywhere else.

Yelp
This isn't just food it's an experience...aromas of pizzas wafting around, dancing and singing servers, great music... we were expecting single serve pizzas to be of a smaller size but we were wrong!!... HUGE pizzas and my gosh the calzone I ordered was ginormous! It was worth the wait outside to sit down and have a delicious meal- sharing and swapping pieces of pizza and calzone! We would definitely go back!!
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Ok, where do I start?? My expectations of pizza in Florence are VERY high and this one met those expectations!! I had read reviews that said there would be a line and there was, not to worry since we were seated quickly. Once seated we were given menus and one of the servers came to take our order....oh the pressure to pick the perfect pizza. Give me a few more minutes. Then another server came by and asked if we were ready and in true Italian fashion she got an earful that we were not ready to order yet. There was music playing and the servers and cooks were having fun with the music, often singing and dancing. Now back to the pizza, my wife and I decided to split what we got so we could try a couple things. The calzone and pizza with spicy salami (can't remember the name) were awesome. Overall a great pizza start to the trip!

Yelp
What can I say about Gustapizza that hasn't been said before? This pizza is incredible in so many ways, even the simple marinara. I do wish they had few more vegan options. I'm not saying they have to have vegan cheese but perhaps something with vegetables and no cheese (the spicy oil they serve you suffices to give that oily mouth-feel). Their crust is divine and the sauce is perfection. I also love their staff-- all of whom are extremely friendly and just plain cool AF. Loved chatting with our rock music-loving waitress who was eager to share her favorite places in the city with us (including Trip per Tre, our new favorite bar). Pro tip: Go late, say an hour before closing and you won't have to join the often long queue outside!
google avatar

Ciera T.

Yelp
GREAT pizza! The line is always long but order to go and eat it somewhere where you can sit and enjoy. The take out line is shorter and usually moves fast. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Busy place but so worth the wait.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
As far as a Firenze version of Naples pizza goes this does it alright. Alright on pizza in Italy scale is about a 7.2. If you want something the way nature intended it to be go to the source. Every corner of this city is rabid with tourism. The city officials should really rethink what they've done. Bring back a threshold of excellence. Implement a dress code. Anything helps, so the cardboards signs frequently say. For the record Cotto is not Parma. Standard service. I like this restaurants style of waitress. Take your order. See ya later. Over all 3.5 but I won't round up.
google avatar

Irwan A.

Yelp
As you approach this hopping pizza joint, do not be intimated by the line as they churn and burn at a high rate so your wait is minimal. Marinara Pizza - simple non cheese pie with a decent marinara and fresh garlic & herbs Turtofo Pizza - truffle creamed pizza that was topped with arugula and fresh buffalo mozzarella. Looked great on the table but fell short on flavor as expectations were higher. Great and quick service as they fire up pizzas so fast that lingering is probably not recommended but this location is near to Boboli Garden & museum so perfect for a quick bite and re-fueling.
google avatar

Rane R.

Yelp
Let's start by saying, don't come here if you're REALLY hungry (or maybe have a snack..?). There's going to be a wait, there's always a queue but it moves along. So enjoy the new people you meet, the pizza is worth it. The pizza was AMAZING. Perfect crust, the pesto's olive oil was delicious and the burrata tasted like it was freshly made that day. I'll be sad when I leave Firenze/Florence and have to say goodbye to this place. If you don't like a queue, you can order inside for takeaway too.
google avatar

Ava J.

Yelp
The best pizza in Florence Italy. I recommend getting there before they open to wait in line. It is a well known and busy place with no reservations available.

Emily E.

Yelp
There was a long line, but a short wait. Don't let the long line of people turn you away! First off, the food was incredible. It was served within 15 minutes of ordering and was piping hot! We talked to the friendly waiter and she recommended the pesto pizza. So that's what we did! We got the pesto pizza, margarita pizza and the original gusto pizza in a heart shape! Little tip, ask for extra basil on the side of margarita pizza! We sat inside and the music and vibes were incredible! All of the workers had big smiles on their faces! I added an updated picture of the menu below and a picture of their famous "gustapizza"!
google avatar

Steph Y.

Yelp
Got here 5 minutes before opening but wasn't able to get seated right away as they open on the dot. But I'm glad my friend and I came here early as it gets packed super quick! Very good spot for pizza and the prices are very affordable. Ingredients are super fresh and the quality was great. Service was great, pizzas came out very quickly. Definitely stop by if you are in the area!
google avatar

Andrew V.

Yelp
Gusta Pizza is a must when visiting Florence. There was a line to get in but we had dressed warmly so we're fine sitting at an outside table so we could get seating sooner (10 minutes). Got the house red wine which was perfect and I can't think of a better pizza I've had. All 5 of us order a different pizza and we sampled each others orders. Prepare to wait but it's worth it.
google avatar

Elissa D.

Yelp
Amazing quality pizza for a surprisingly affordable price. Make sure to get there early (at least 30 mins before it opens) because there are super long lines due to its popularity on TikTok and IG. 10/10 would recommend and go back. Tip - line for takeaway pizza moves super quickly. Grab a pizza and then find a bench nearby to enjoy it on
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Gusta Pizza delivers an incredible pizza experience. The freshness of the toppings truly stands out, making each bite delightful. Expect a wait, but it moves swiftly, and let me assure you, it's absolutely worth it.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Located off the Ponte Santa Trinita, had 2 pizzas: the margherita and porcini with sausage. The tomato sauce on the margherita was great, while the porcini mushrooms were fresh on the second. Lines start forming before opening, so get there early and be prepared to wait!
google avatar

V M.

Yelp
The best pizza that I've ever tried! I don't eat pizza but this one was unexpectedly delicious. The service was good. We got the outdoor seating. Nothing fancy about the outdoor seating though. Would highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Tawny M.

Yelp
Delicious and worth the hype. We got there right at opening but didn't make it in on the first wave. The wait was not bad, and it moves quickly so don't be discouraged. We had the pesto pizza and the calabrese. Both were excellent! The servers were very nice and prices are good!
google avatar

Nivi R.

Yelp
Worth the hype and wait! Short walk from Uffizi gallery. We came here on a Saturday around 2pm and had to wait for about 15 mins. Excellent pizza, one of the best I have ever tried. You cannot go wrong with any of the options. It was just a very hot day and wanted something relatively light - so we went with Caprese pizza, beyond delicious. Highly recommend this spot if you are in Florence.
google avatar

Britt B.

Yelp
We went to Italy on our honeymoon and spent our first few nights in Firenze! Gusta Pizza was recommended by one of my girlfriends and I am so incredibly glad we had time to check this spot out, as this was the best pizza we had in all of Italy (Firenze, Roma, and Sorrento). We had some great pizzas, but this was definitely #1! The place is small, so there might be a slight wait. When we arrived, it seemed as if we snagged the last table outside and it was perfect. Close and a nice walk from our hotel - cozy and casual. We ordered wine and they bring you bottled mineral water right away. I went with the Calebrese and my husband opted for the Porcini. Both of these were absolutely delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked. This was the best pizza we have ever had, and like I mentioned, in all 3 Italia cities, this won without a doubt. If you are in this area, do not skip out on Gusta Pizza - I miss it so much!
google avatar

Lindsay B.

Yelp
BEST PIZZA IN FLORENCE! We had a lot of good pizza on this trip but my favorite would have to be Gustapizza. The pesto pizza was absolutely incredible with a huge chunk of cheese in the middle. I also loved the calabrese pizza. The spicy salami is pretty much like our pepperoni but better! There was a long line but I walked across the street to Gustabar and grabbed some wine for us to enjoy while we waited in line. If you love pizza, you'll love Gustapizza!

Vincent S.

Yelp
The pizza was 5 stars but the wait was 3.5 stars The wine was phenomenal although I don't remember the name but it was red .. we sat outside with everyone in line right in top of us.. not my favorite setting but the pizza was excellent
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
I had Gusta pizza on our list of places to eat during our stay in Florence. Lucky for us we were staying just steps away at Soprano. The line can get pretty long but we decided to swing back by later in the evening (closer to 10p) the day we wanted to try them. When we returned the line was much shorter but we opted for take out instead and ate at our hotel. We ordered two pizzas to go. I asked for something spicy, since I like it hot! My bestie went with four cheese. He later asked if I wanted to try his but I really didn't want four cheeses so I declined. My spicy pizza was tasty! I couldn't finish it all but I did put a big dent in it, three out of four slices devoured. We grabbed sodas to go and enjoyed our dinner back in the privacy of our quiet hotel library. Gusta was very busy and every table was taken, it was nice to have a yummy take out option so close to us. Highly recommend if you're in the area. The sauce, dough/crust, and toppings all came together quite nicely. I consider myself a pretty tough pizza critic and I enjoyed my choice. I think you will too! Price absolutely can't be beat. I don't know that I've ever had a pizza this affordable. This was the only pizza I ate on this trip to Italy, and I can say I was totally satisfied with it.
google avatar

Mikhala F.

Yelp
We had multiple people tell us they wouldn't speak to us if we skipped Gusta Pizza in Florence, so you know we had to go! The hype - and American word of mouth - is STRONG with this one. Clearly, everyone got the same recommendation because the line is constantly out the door! If I were to do it again, I'd get the pizza to go and go eat it somewhere for a sunset view - the to-go line is way shorter. I love that there's a short list of options - they all sounded incredible! We opted for the pesto one and the salami one (plus added truffle oil). The crust and toppings flavors of both were delicious, but I found the bottom part in the center to be a bit undercooked and gooey. I love a crispy za, so maybe that's just me! Definitely ask for the chili oil condiment to dip your crust in. Service is brief and speedy - they're definitely trying to crank folks through (which was honestly kinda nice after many 2+ hour meals!). However, it did feel a bit rushed to get others in and felt a little chaotic inside. Awesome pizza, some of the best we had in Florence - I'd just do takeout and ask for a bit more cooked next time!
google avatar

Sindy D.

Yelp
Instead of waiting to be seated skip the line and go to the take out side! The pizza is so hot and thin that it only took about 10-15 minutes for our pizza to be in our hands. We sat by the church steps a few meters away from the restaurant and enjoyed our pizza without the service charge. It came out to $20 euros for two pizzas which is a steal. The dough was gummy and had so much flavour and oh my the mushrooms were . A lot of people said the wait is not worth it but so far on my trip this is the best pizza we've had. When in Florence this is definitely something worth trying.
google avatar

Zach S.

Yelp
Oh yah, worth the wait yet we got here 11:50 and there were open seats. They fill up and then 30+ minutes to wait but that's fine because you need an appetite as the pizzas are cheap and you'll want to eat the whole pie as the Italians do. A margarita pie is 7 euro and same price as the Spritz. Order a select spritz as it pairs better with the red pizza sauce IMO. Wife ordered Aperol as she likes it a tad sweeter than select. (Select is the OG)
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Great and Fast service. The pizzas are individual size. But they are so big that we decided to share one pizza. So hubby and I had Margarita pizza and a glass of red wine. The staff is very friendly.
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
There will probably be a queue when you arrive but it's absolutely worth the wait. Get a spritz too!
google avatar

Pearl S.

Yelp
There's always a line out the door for this pizza place. The servers are friendly and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The pizzas are large enough for two people which I love, although the food was great I was a little underwhelmed. It might have been because we were sitting outside and it was cold but the crust was a little too burnt for my liking and not as flavorful as I hoped. Still great pizza but not the best I've had.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Yes, it was that good. We waited in the queue for about 30 minutes and were shown to our table. They're trying hard to turn over tables as quickly as possible here so don't expect to be able to dither around when your meal is done. In, eat, out. And that's okay. Gusta Pizza is not typical European slow pace. It's also a Diners Dives and Drive-ins restaurant, visited by Guy Fieri https://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/diners-drive-ins-and-dives/videos/fillin-up-in-florence#. And honestly, that's why this was a bookmark on my list. I'm glad we came. Two fantastic pizzas (I had the Napoli with anchovies and capers), a beer, an Aperol sprits later, and we were back out to do more touristing. There are lots of pizza places in Firenze. This is a good one. [Review 17048 overall - 243 in Italy - 564 of 2022.]
google avatar

Barbie S.

Yelp
It's not a bad pizza but it's not the best either. We arrived when they opened to avoid a long line. The line was really long when we left. I left not understanding the hype. Pros: Service Quality Cons: Soggy middle from the toppings
google avatar

Toma C.

Yelp
It's not five star worry to my standard but defiant I can see why it's a favorite to a-lot of people. So reasonable for a whole pie. Chewy crust and thin pizza. We just had dinner for the street and really FIL so we canted to try this after a walk. We got the cheese and Moscarello cheese pizza. The tomato sauce was very just tomato tastinglike more herbs and seasoning in my sauce. It was fresh tasting and everyone else enjoyed the lower sodium pizza. We took out instead of waiting. It is faster that way but we ate it standing up
google avatar

Jill D.

Yelp
Not all pizza in Italy is good, or even ok, but this pizza was absolutely delicious! Crust was thin, but not too thin, they were generous with the toppings and the flavor. We ordered two so we could try a couple. The pesto and the truffle. They were both incredible!!!! And enough for 3-4 people! We must go back to try the classic margherita Gusta style. By the way, there's always a line! It's worth the wait! And the line goes faster than you think, fo not hesitate! Final note, we skipped breakfast, we ate about 3/4 of both pizzas around 2pm, and skipped dinner.
google avatar

CYNTHIA T.

Yelp
Best piazza I have ever tasted. I ate there many times during my stay in Florence! I also ordered takeout my flat was very close to Gusta. The line can get very long but it's a short wait. It's a place to eat your piazza and move on. Great conversations at the communal tables. Go you won't be sorry!
google avatar

Tonya G.

Yelp
Pizza, pizza, pizza... that is all they have here at Gusta! We are almost pizza'd out; however, the Gusta reviews had us out trying pizza one more time! Three of us shared two pizzas, and could not finish them. That said, most customers had a whole pizza to themselves. We of course had to have the quattro fromagi to compare it to the others we have had while in Italy. It was the best one yet. We also had the pest pizza that had a big piece of burrata in the middle. Both pizzas were delectable! This place gets packed, so either go a little early or be prepared to wait a bit! I highly recommend this place if you want pizza and nothing else.

Lisa L.

Yelp
We waited a little less than an hour only to eat the pizza and be quite confused about the google ratings. All my family members agreed the pizza was very average, even though we tried all their most popular items (pesto, marg, calabrese). There were little burnt bits on our pesto pizza (which probably just comes from the oven remnants) and bites that were a little saltier than I preferred. The taste is good enough if you're nearby and need a quick bite, but not worth waiting an hour or in line.

Damian M.

Yelp
This was recommended to us on social media. pizza quality was great. We asked them to make it heart shape which is what they are famous for and it came out looking perfect! Great ingredients which led to a great pizza Definitely recommend!!

Jules K.

Yelp
This place will have a super long line as reviews mention. However, we did wait in the long line and I think it was at least 30-40 mins. We chose to order to go so once we ordered it was another 30 mins to make our pizza, obviously longer if you want to eat there. I did not get a picture of the pizzas as we were all starving once we trekked back to the apt with the pizzas. Overall pretty darn good pizza, the best we had in Florence. Worth the wait if wanting good pizza.
