We tried 3 items on the menu for lunch, Mussels in a thick broth, Paella with seafood and sausage and beans - all 3 were excellent and rich in flavor and depth. The wine list was minimal unfortunately, but the house red worked and palatable, the red sangria was very pleasant and a nice presentation. Parking is available and service was delightful. Another “out of the blue” winner and well worth the visit. BTW: it was lovely to see the place was dog friendly and all the dogs were very well behaved. You will not be disappointed.

Google
Great food and amazing staff. Really loved the food and the people here. Most of the dishes could also be made gluten free, even the French Toast! The Spanish Tortilla was delicious and the French Toast was a treat. We also had the Eggs Benedict which was the favorite for those of us who preferred something more savory.

Google
Came about 25 minutes before the restaurant closed. The service and food were great. Thank you for being so welcoming!

Google
We enjoyed our lunch here - everything was good, but I wouldn't say great. Plenty of unique options and the food is beautifully prepared and presented, but I would not say that it tasted amazing - it was just fine/good... And as advertised in the menu it took a really long time to get our food...If ever in Taos again.... I'd probably give it another try.

Google
Was initially excited to eat here and willing to wait. However, an hour to receive your food seems a bit excessive. Food was lackluster, best part was the hot chocolate. Seems they were not prepared for Presidents’ Day weekend. We initially asked for our check and to leave after an hour, to which we were told “your foods coming.” We should have left. Our vegan member did not receive their food for another 10 min, and it was covered with cheese, and with bacon potatoes which we specifically asked to have removed, so not only was this bowl of vegetables later than the other food, but also contaminated. Very disappointed. And we were ultimately charged $76 for this abysmal failure although we left after only a few bites.

Google
Normally in the middle of nowhere, you won't be able to find quality food. Not here. I'm surprised by the warmth of the staff and the aroma of the food. I love this spot and the food is worth the wait. They can probably source better chicken, but it's good enough!

Google
I love the Latin/French fusion menu. Service is always friendly, even when they are busy. It is a popular spot for weekend brunch. The house made hot sauces are fabulous.

Google
We went out of our way for breakfast today. Glad we did. Service was friendly and engaging. But it's all abbot the food. My brie omelet was amazing. The French and NM fusion was unique and memorable. Go

Yelp
I I found this place on google looking for a dog friendly spot to have breakfast in Taos, where I was going to spend the day walking around. The service was so good. I had the patio to myself with pups. They got treated to bacon, lots of lovin' and attention The food was really good and fresh. The owner checked on me a few times. He was very kind. Great local spot They serve two kinds of housemate hot sauces, too Yum!

Yelp
Amazing! We saw this come up on Yelp under foodie restaurants so had to try it. The recommended vegetarian dish was the vegetable tartine and holy smokes, it was 10/10! Absolutely delightful. So much flavor! The server was friendly and we got a lemon tart from the bakery window to go. You've gotta try this place!

Jonathan M.

Yelp
I recently visited Gutiz and it was a fantastic choice! I ordered the Andouille Sausage Plate, and it did not disappoint. The Chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious; I found myself using it on every part of the dish. We also tried the French toast, which was incredibly soft and flavorful--an instant classic. If you're in Taos I recommend this spot for breakfast/brunch.

Brittany B.

Yelp
I never thought I'd say a goat cheese quesadilla was one or the best things I ate in Tao...but their goat cheese quesadilla was one of the best things I ate in Taos! This spot is likely known for their DDD stamp (yep, that's another DDD restaurant in the books), and arguably the Latin French fusion concepts sounds as if it could go wrong at any second, but their flowers are well deserved! Everything we tried was delicious. Every staff member we encountered was lovely. I will say, our potatoes were not reheated correctly, but the flavors were on point. I blame the fact that we arrive near close, I wouldn't exactly expect them fresh so close to closing hour. When I'm back the area, I'll have to remember to visit their lovely pastry case! If you're in the area, don't fear the Latin French fusion concept, Guy got it right, this spot is worth a visit.

Minnie L.

Yelp
Omg. The food was incredible. I don't like mushrooms all that much and yet I loved the Spanish omelette which was more like a quiche (it's also the local favorite on the menu). The portion was nice and big too. Food came out fairly fast and ambience was chill. Definitely a great breakfast spot.

Antonia H.

Yelp
Absolutely divine food. We loved it so much for brunch yesterday that we came again today. The service is excellent, we loved all our food, and their food is great portions with quality presentation and substance. Nothing is greasy, and it all tastes fresh and cooked to order. They also have the option for organic eggs!

Luis P.

Yelp
A must try place! The food is amazing and service is excellent & friendly! We had the crepes and Spanish tortilla; both very tasty and large portions. Must have the homemade mint lemonade, really good!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Wrong stars on previous revue Not on my part Went back once again Spaced out server brought plate without half the food Half hour later asked if we wanted the rest which had been Sitting in the kitchen REALLY???? ZUT ALORS

SeÑor M.

Yelp
Although our wait time to be seated was SUBSTANTIALLY longer than I would typically ever endure anywhere else, the cuisine (not food lol) at Gutiz makes everything worth while. It's not often you find a restaurant with authentic frenchy-slash spanish recipes that literally blow your mind. Gutiz is that special treat and deserves your patience when waiting for a table. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Once seated, our coffee and Mexican Hot Chocolate came out fairly quickly (compared to our wait to be seated). The coffee is nothing extraordinary, just good. But the Mexican hot chocolate is worth a try if you're in the mood. And yes, order the whip cream! We both ordered the Croque Madame (waitress nicknamed it "The Missus"). We were pleased when it only took 15 minutes to arrive at the table, hot and beautifully plated with a side of fresh greens. What can I say other than, WOW. Homemade bread, fresh garlicky béchamel, cheesy-crusted ham-laden goodness topped with a perfectly-poached egg.... Quite an exquisite brunch ;) Will return again and again to explore more of the menu.

Yelp
This has been our best breakfast in Taos. That French toast is so good. The people are very kind and service was amazing. There was a little wait but that was perfectly fine with the experience we had. I would eat this once a week if my waistline could keep up.

Malori H.

Yelp
Wow! I tried this place bc the reviews for it were so good and it did not disappoint. I got a berry crumb cake while we waited to be sat outside. The thing was as big as my forearm and I crushed the whole thing bc it was sooo good. I ordered the savory crepe and it left me speechless. I am not typically a crepe person but I am so glad I went for it. Husband got the green Chile bowl which was loaded with great flavor and served with a warm tortilla. We will absolutely be making this a must stop spot every time we come to Taos now.

Yelp
We head to Taos every October for a bridge tournament. The wonderful thing about Taos that some may not know, is that the food in Taos is AMAZING... and Guitz hits it out of the park. Of all the years we have been coming to Taos we had never been to Guitz. We were looking for a quick little spot for breakfast and happened upon them. This cozy little place scream scratch made food with love. We were greeted by a friendly waitstaff that hooked us up with a steamy cup of joe, really great cup of coffee it was. We decide to share the Eggs Benedict. A generous bowl (yes, I said bowl) of poached eggs and Canadian bacon and an English muffin served on a bed of Gutiz potatoes topped with homemade Hollandaise sauce. Heck we even upgraded and added the spinach and tomato. Sorry, I had to wipe the drool from my chin just writing about it. See you next October Gutiz and I promise we are gonna try that bomb looking French Toast.

Kayleigh B.

Yelp
Just stumbled upon this place thanks to Yelp and it was SO good. Best place we have eaten since coming to New Mexico. The people were kind, the place was cute, and the food was DELICIOUS. We got the Saltado to split before a hike with an extra side of potatoes and it was plenty for 2 people.

Debra N.

Yelp
Order the French Toast! You don't want to miss it. Fresh ingredients combined for a sweet morning pick me up. Great with one of their teas!

Bruce G.

Yelp
We ate here May 10. I had a half order of French toast and a half order of eggs Benedict. Both dishes were fantastic but the Benedict was the best hollandaise sauce I've ever had. Silky smooth. My wife had andouille sausage scrambled eggs and the Gutiz potatoes. Also excellent. The kitchen is small and it's not for you if you're in a hurry but the quality is worth the wait.

Miranda S.

Yelp
Came here on a recommendation and left pleasantly plump. Staff was super nice and food was delicious. Got a photo a little too late.... But this dish was unreal. My partner definitely had meal envy.

Kenneth T.

Yelp
Amazing little place for Brunch!!! Interesting menu of Latin French fusion and traditional brunch favorites. Must eat if Taos. The Pollo Borachon is like a savory chicken pot pie and has been featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. so good. Nice patio too! And home made cakes!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! My husband and I always stop here when we visit! The waitress was so kind and happy, we felt at home!

Debbie S.

Yelp
Great French Toast!! It lives up to the hype. Very Friendly service. My husband's Eggs Benedict was also very good. Would highly recommend.

Alan P.

Yelp
I really don't want to complain since Sunday in Taos has very few restaurants open. I don't mind waiting in a restaurant to be seated. The service in this particular establishment was very good. Noise level was fine. The problem is the chef has a heavy hand and overcooks chicken and tuna. My wife had a chicken sandwich which was dried out chicken. I had a.Nicoise salad. The salad was fine. The tuna was like dried shoe leather. I really can't complain a very happily refunded the money for the tuna and I paid for salad. But when I inquired about how they prepare it, he recently prepared it for someone else and they wanted it well done so now that's how he prepares for everyone. She never asked me how I would like my tuna prepared And since this is an establishment, I've never eaten it in. I went with the House recommendation. It was my mistake. I thought it would be medium at least if not, medium rare. So my suggestion is don't order chicken and don't order tuna you'll be much happier. It seems that everyone ordered breakfast were really happy.

Yelp
I got the egg scramble Tower and it was a little bit blah. I kind of wish I had gotten the French toast. Service was great. Other people in the party like their food.

Anna M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! Love the mint lemonade. Fantastic and unique menu, great service, and totally worth a 30min wait.

Julianna R.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Overall such an amazing space with amazing staff! Please go there for brekfast you won't regret it!

Lisa Y.

Yelp
We ate breakfast here in mid-June 2023. Ordered eggs benedict which were amazing. The eggs were made just right. The hollandaise sauce was absolutely delish. It was served over a bed of potatoes which made it a hearty meal. We had to wait for quite awhile on a Saturday morning, but we got a table on the patio. I love sitting on the patio in the summer, it was a beautiful day, the patio was shady with flowers and trees, and a nice atmosphere. Our server was friendly, and took our order quickly. The food came quickly. We didn't really see our server until the end of our meal, but the busser came by and refilled our drinks, so it worked out. I saw other dishes on the menu that I would love to try. This restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch.

M A.

Yelp
Great food selection. Great service and tasty food. One of my favorite places in Taos.

James O.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Our party had the drunken chicken, Spanish omelette, and Cobb salad. All the meals were delicious.

Preetesh V.

Yelp
Me and my spouse visited the restaurant during the pandemic. Luckily they were open and had had outdoor seating available. The patio was decent in size and could hold roughly around 7-8 by tables. This was a highly recommended restaurant so we stepped in with high expectations. The service staff were following all the necessary CDC protocols. The food was just average and lacked the wow factor. We would have enjoyed this place only after lowering our expectations.

Jill B.

Yelp
I can't believe we've been coming to Taos for years and have never eaten at Gutiz! It was divine. The house blended chai was perfect. Great coffee. I had the Four Cheese Bread. OMG! To die for. It was the best open face grilled cheese sandwich you can imagine. Side salad was fresh and lightly dressed. Hubs ordered the Chicken Pepito sandwich. The seasonings were so well done on both the chicken mixture and the potato side dish. Also we asked for hot sauce and they brought two housemade. A " sweeter" and a "smokier". The smoky sauce was hands down our favorite. So good. Service is friendly. Nice inside and outside dining. Nice jazzy music.

Hannah M.

Yelp
Gutiz is fine. Like everywhere in Taos, Gutiz is definitely understaffed. While it seems like the staff were really trying, there simply were not enough people for decent service. I ordered a cinnamon bun which was warmed in the microwave for way too long and got that hard microwave texture. I ordered coffee several times but it never came out. I finally got it when I was leaving in a to go cup! My Yougurt parfait was tasty but nothing special. I waited over 30 minutes to get the check after requesting it.

Kate P.

Yelp
There were a lot of tasty looking options on the menu but so many people had raved on here about the eggs benedict that I had to give it a try and I have no regrets- that dish was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was incredible- light, but flavorful. We also got the sausage plate which was also good but not as mind blowing. As others mentioned, there was a bit of a wait, but it wasn't too bad for two of us on a Sunday morning. Also, once you are seated, if you are really hungry, you can ask for some French bread toast to come out early as a little appetizer, which I really appreciated! Our waitress was also lovely.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
We stopped at the Gutiz on a Sunday, it was not busy. We had hot chocolate which was average and ordered cheesecake. Which never came!!! As I stated was not busy don't bother wasting your time.

Robin K.

Yelp
Gutiz In Taos for the day, we decided to try this " Diners, Drive Ins And Dives" hot spot for lunch. It's a dive restaurant that touts itself as serving " French- Latin fusion food." The food was mediocre and disappointing. I opted for a Latin fusion chicken "stew" with chicken, squash, potatoes and tomatoes with a poached egg. It was a bit of a mess. My dining companion opted for a ham and cheese sandwich, which, again, was not so good. Surprisingly, they were out of eggs Benedict and do not have mustard ("we don't ever have mustard") for sandwiches. The saving grace was the incredibly warm and friendly host person, who was funny, attentive and so very welcoming. The wait staff is also warm and welcoming. The kind and happy staff made this rather forgettable meal pleasant.

Laura C.

Yelp
I knew when we drove by and saw all the cars this was a pretty good bet! We were not disappointed..

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast! The French toast is amazing. My husband couldn't decide between the eggs Benedict and French toast, so our server recommended a half-order of each!

Mirror M.

Yelp
The last time I went to Gutiz for brunch, they'd run out of hollendaise for my favorite order, the Benedict. Bad planning for one of their signature dishes. finally went back today. the potatoes which they think is 'fancy' piled beneath the Benedict itself were not at all browned as they should be. The muffin was not the least bit crisped, making it literally impossible to cut with the knife. When I shared this fact with my waitress, she didn't care. I left most of the food on the plate. The restaurant was not at all busy, but the food took forever to get to us. my latte was bloody lazy. You call that foam? Lazy chef. Lazy waitstaff. (Never go there past noon, because at this point, they just don't care anymore). I am local and have fewer and fewer Taos restaurants to go to. Gutiz is one of the last places in town that serves breakfast. I will not return. They just don't give any shits.

Nicole F.

Yelp
Absolutely! Some of the BEST FOOD in Taos! Worth every dollar, incredible taste combinations served by attentive and courteous staff. Chef is a super star!

Cary H.

Yelp
This is my favorite Taos restaurant. It's quaint, service is always excellent, and everything is delicious. My favorite is the green chili sausage bowl with an egg on top. We go every time we visit

Juan B.

Yelp
The staff is the best, the breakfast was so good, their special French toast, get them, wow!!, strawberries, bananas, with a sweet drizzle of fruit/caramel, delicious.

Susan B.

Yelp
Amazing food. Worth the visit to eat here. Small establishment, not premade food. All made to order, so be patient waiting for your dish to be served. It is well worth it. My fave is eggs Benedict but next week will try something new. My neighbor LOVES the stuffed French toast.

Ron E.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing. Great casual place to get breakfast or lunch. We had the scrambled egg tower. So good. Highly recommend getting a side of the housemade French bread toast.

Rebekah F.

Yelp
The food, friendly staff, and atmosphere are all top notch, but what I will remember most about this cafe is how ADA accessible it is. Taos is difficult for wheelchair users,so the paved parking lot, easy front door access, and modern unisex restroom make this welcome oasis. Thank you,Gutiz!

Doug M.

Yelp
Mmmmm. Nice patio, great staff, and delicious breakfast. Loved the savory crepes. The cheese, the sauce, the ham!

Erik T.

Yelp
kudos to Guitz! food ambience service I will highly recomend. * Drove from ABQ just to eat here! And it was with the drive.

Martha P.

Yelp
I hear good things about this restaurant. However, the location, attached to a change vehicle oil garage , is not for me .

Grace E.

Yelp
Casual and delicious!! The French toast did live up to their reputation. Excellent service and great prices.

Stacey P.

Yelp
Delicious. I got the Taoseño, the French toast for the table, granola-tastic for the kid, the Creole for the hubs. Friends got the Taoseño rice. Everything was well seasoned, and they brought two different hot sauces for the table. I wish I took pics of the food but was starving by the time it came and immediately scarfed it down. GET THE FRENCH TOAST, seriously. Just order one for the whole table (or one for yourself). It's one of the few restaurants in the area that's open in Sundays and it was bustling. Be prepared to put your name in a list and wait, and the food also takes a bit of time to come out (they have a small kitchen ). But it's worth it!! Friendly staff and service.

Gigi V.

Yelp
LOVE everything about this place!! The best crepes I've had outside of France. The bechamel... wow!!! Everything is great, cooked with love and attention to detail. My husband had the eggs Benedict, and they were superb. The Croque Monsieur was out of this world. The Paella is a work of art, I just wish they were opened for dinner. Lunch is not our thing, but we make an exception for this place! Some of the best food we've had in Taos. And GREAT service, cheers to this beautiful place!

Laurie H.

Yelp
Eggs Benedict was delicious! Their potatoes were especially good in both plates we got. Service was also good.

Mannie S.

Yelp
We were kind of surprised how may local people were there for breakfast on a regular week day. The staff here were friendly, the environment is homy too. The food was good, but not too exciting. The french toast I got was too heavy for my taste - too sweet and too much grease, but then my taste is really light compared to most people. The yogurt and granula plate my husband got looked amazing, but I did not taste it. The mexican mocha I had was pretty yummy with some kick in it. They also offer a great selection of teas.
