Gutside Cafe

Uncle Richard came outside to introduce himself when we drove by and were contemplating going in for lunch. That doesn't happen very often. Richard does it all here, that is until his wife Lourdis shows up. What a wonderful couple obviously enjoying preparing and serving their amazing home style meals. We had the snapper fillet and whole snapper. The rice, vegetables and plantains were great too. If you find yourself anywhere near Friars Bay Beach, you must stop and enjoy Gutside.

This was one of our favorite places to eat in St. Martin. The food was incredibly delicious and full of flavor, and the seafood was very fresh. We enjoyed it so much that we came for lunch and then returned the same day for dinner. The owner and chef was genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Prices are very reasonable, and we highly recommend this café.

CASH ONLY. Have been driving past this place for years in the way to Friars Bay. We have been missing out. Talk about small island atmosphere. We made a mistake and did not try any seafood. We had the ribs and stewed pork. Go for the stewed pork! Nice and tender. Very delicious. Owners come out an greet. Be prepared to relax and wait. Not a quick bite type of place. Not much of a parking lot, you just park on the side of the road.

Cash only! You must be here because of the excellent Reddit and Google reviews - they do not disappoint. Food wise it’s one of the best foods on the island! Flavourful food and super friendly and welcoming service. I got the whole snapper (tbh I was contemplating between the snapper, ribs, and pork stew, but I could have another as a side!). The restaurant itself is not fancy by any means, so if you’re boujie and high maintenance, this isn’t for you! Island life is very slow-paced and I went here just around the busiest times, so it took some time for my food to be ready, but I’ve been to several islands all over the Caribbean and Asia, so I know how it goes (especially coming from a big city, where life is FAST!). You’re here for the food and chill vibes, so enjoy it!

Listen- The sweetest couple out here doing the work in a beautiful setting. the food was AMAZING. so flavorful and cooked to perfection. We visited after a hike to Petite Cays and so worth it. I love supporting places like Gutside and Look forward to returning! CASH ONLY and tip em good!!

Super delicious food with the nicest people! I have the chicken and it comes in a delicious creole sauce. Ask for the homemade hot sauce!

Incredible food! I ordered the red snapper and had the lovely conversation with the owner. They made me feel welcome! The homemade pepper sauce is to die for. The snapper was fresh , well seasoned! Worth every penny . Thanks Christine from Manchester, England
