Gutta på Haugen

They keep items which are expired. Didn’t expect this when you pay so much for an item that I bought.Never going back. Edit: I don’t live in Norway, I bought it while travelling, if you can refund pls do so in my payment method credit card.

Their softis is the best in Oslo. Toppings are flavourful, quality vanilla used in softis. Worth every scoop!

In a country where people clearly do not appreciate too much choice but stick to the familiar and traditional, this is one of the places (Jacob's is another) that offers a different set of options. However, the prices are bizarrely high, to the point of laughable. I spotted a jar of honey at €25 or USD 27! Nevertheless, sometimes you just have to have something different and bit higher quality. For that, this is a good choice, even though the prices do not correspond to corresponding higher quality.

Walk across the street and there is the Gutta ice-cream stand. Delicious soft serve, almost cloudy meringue-like and not terribly sweet, with seasonal toppings - this week blueberry + brunost (Norweigan brown cheese!) Very decadent but worth trying!

What a fantastic soft serve ice cream they have! In my opinion this is the best in town! The ice cream itself is very clean in taste and not too sweat. I think it's always exciting to go there because they have a weekly special topping. I have tried fancy chocolate, Lakrids by Bülow, salty caramel, olive oil and sea salt and bacon and olive oil! I loved the olive oil, but the bacon one was not a good topping in my opinion. Salty caramel is my favorite.

I've been robbed! I asked for a Norwegian cheese and I paid twice the price of their competitors because I was a tourist! An awesome imported French cheese is much cheaper! NOK 899 per kilo for Valdres Bufarost !!! A shame! You guys give a bad image to Norway!

I expected it to be overpriced, but it was worse than anticipated, at least for those items you won’t find easily somewhere else. But my bad impression came actually from something else. The cheese selection is poor and the staff (at least the one who helped me) didn’t really seem to know much about it. Really. At that point I realized it’s not a cheese place, so I’ll go back one day to look at the dry meat selection

Great little place with calm and patient stuff, which will help you choose the right product for you. The tastes are unique and the prices reasonable (for norway). Very recommended! There is a wonerful park near by, so you could make a walk there.

For most people sightseeing is about visiting either the Eiffel Tower, The Statue of Liberty, Big Ben.... My travels are based on food, restaurants and shopping. Food shopping, of course. Gutta på Haugen might be the most famous food shop in Oslo. All their beautifully presented foods are of very high quality yet I had hoped for more Norwegian ingredients. Why ship all those exotic cheeses to your shop? With that said the shop is a must visit for food lovers.
