The Everglades Is One of America's Most Overlooked National Parks—Why You Should Visit

"The visitors’ center is named for Guy Bradley, a plume hunter turned conservationist who was murdered in 1905 by former hunting colleagues, and it functions as an interpretive hub for the area. Park staff provide programs and displays—one ranger, Roxanne Zastrow, is noted for showing off an alligator skull in interpretive contexts—and the center helps orient visitors to boat rentals, guided activities and local natural history." - Stanley Stewart Stanley Stewart Stanley Stewart is a multi-award-winning travel writer and author of three acclaimed books. Probably the best visitor center in the Everglades mainly because it's at the far end and you see a lot getting to this location and you see a lot at this location. The visitor center is paid out well and has a large window overlooking the by where you can see all the outdoor activity. They also have a really cool digital display wall that's interactive so you can touch things and learn about the park. It's really well done. Recommended!

After a scenic drive through the Everglades and numerous information stops, we arrived at the great big flamingo pink Guy Bradley visitor center. They have a great exhibit educating about the wildlife of the park, as well as the history of Game Warden Guy Bradley. SHOUT OUT to the park ranger who educated me all about lubber grasshoppers that covered the roads, and I learned we have not only alligators but crocodiles as well in the Everglades!

This was our first visit ever to the bottom end of The Everglades. It was well worth the long drive. The Visitor Center is full of information and interactive displays. The park rangers are helpful and friendly. The views are spectacular. We drove a short distance from the visitor center to the Flamingo Lodge and Restaurant, had a light lunch outside on the small deck, then drove toward the campground. We thought the Eco-Tents looked like a potential future destination.

Super interesting exhibit with a lot of information and knowledgeable staff. Also a nice gift shop and bathrooms. Has nice benches (second floor) with a nice breeze and good view (and only few mosquitoes)- great for a picknick!

Great day to fish. Went straight to the bay. 5:AM, the mosquitoes were so thick that you could breathe them in at the marina. Once we got out, we killed it on Snapper and trout.

Beautiful new updated Visitor Center. Great exhibits and displays to learn about the ecology and history of the Everglades. What a gem! South Florida furthest main land road, doesn’t get much further south than this! Guy Bradley VC is 38 miles from park entrance but worth the drive getting down here. This is also where you can get a NP Passport Stamp.

Excellent visitor center w new facilities that complement well the needs of visitor in this most remote of location within the continental everglades lands. The Rangers were courteous and will to explore opportunities for me to see all that was available in their programs that suited my needs. One of the volunteers even shared information on schedule for weeks ahead so I can return and explore waterways w their tours. Loved sitting outside the center on the upper desk and have a full view of the waterways on low tide and w many birds taking advantage of the feeding muddy flats exposed l. Truly beautiful. My only constructive critique is that there is very few benches to sit on by the water but there is plenty of covered area to place more on. The Everglades is about contemplation of its subtle beauty so why not include more viewing opportunities at the center?
