Guyana Zoo

The zoo's grounds seem to be in better and better shape year after year ... The zoo is definitely under duress and will thrive with some better funding

The condition of this place is unsanitary. The different cages/habits for the animals are very unpleasant, in other words they stink. However, given that they are live animals much if that is expected. What isn't expected is that it hardly has any animals. A couple parrot and macaws, turtles, 2 snakes and like 2 wild cats (insane) and again the empty cages are very unkept, the trees are overgrown - in the habit, and it smells awful. I think for an organization that making you pay 300 per person and 200 per child knowing that lots of foreigners and local people frequent this place they need to do way better

All animals are rescue animals. You have a good chance of see wild toucans that will come visit the captive ones.

They was no wait time to enter, tickets are $200 Guyana dollars, ministry of tourism for Guyana needs to come up with a renovation plan and budget also have more variety of animals at the zoo because it’s very limited the cages need to be renew and structures are very old for the animals habit. This should be looked into to it would boost tourism for those within this interest field.

Not a bad place to spend an hour. Entrance is less than $2 USD. They are cash only. Relatively safe. Small zoo.

Entry fee per adult has been 200GYD for as long as I can remember, definitely worthy to notice that they’ve kept it affordable. It could use some cleaning and some of the buildings like the aquarium needs to be rebuilt but there were garbage bins all around which is helpful, and there’s some nice shady spots to catch a break from the sun, not forgetting the lovely breeze all around that area. Worth the visit and lots of amazing animals to see, would love to see improvements made to their homes.

$200 (gyd) to enter. A sign at the gate shows a much bigger park than what is actually there. The animals present are all from the continent, and not as being advertised on the sign. The compounds are unfortunately rather small, though the animals seem well fed. The harpy eagles and the jaguar are amazing creatures and deserve more room to move. Not the worst zoo I've been to, but not a very good one either. Worth a visit.

for me to explain all what is wrong with this zoo in Guyana, It will take too much. so to put it in a nutshell, and simple that everyone can understand It is one of the worst zoos I have ever visited, upon my perspective. They have a shop there with an ice cream sign but there is no ice cream in the middle of the day wow.
