Gwanghwamun Square

Walking through Gwanghwamun Square made me feel Seoul's prosperity. The modern architecture is blended with a brilliant history. The area is soul-stirring. So many tourists were there, mixed in with hard-working office workers. I enjoyed the really relaxing feeling there. I wish I had time to stay longer. I will be back.

Visiting Gwanghwamun Square in mid-December is an absolute treat! The entire area is beautifully decorated with festive lights and ornaments, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere despite the winter chill. The lighting displays are stunning—perfect for evening strolls and photos. It’s a great spot to soak in the holiday spirit, enjoy the vibrant city energy, and take in the iconic views of Gwanghwamun Gate surrounded by sparkling decorations. If you’re in Seoul during December, this is definitely a must-visit for the festive vibes and Instagram-worthy shots!

Gwanghamun Square is a very popular tourist destination in Seoul. It's a large public area where name activities are held. There are 2 statues here as well. There's the statue of King Sejong and the statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

The area was super lively during Christmas, with lots to see and do, making it a fun and festive place to visit. It was very busy, but the atmosphere made it worth the trip, and the gate was conveniently located right there.

Although on first sight Gwanghwamun Square might not look spectacular and any different to other city and town squares, I liked visiting it and walking around. I started walking from one end of the square and took my time exploring the historical figures and monuments along the way. At the opposite end, the square leads to the grand Gyeongbukgung Palace. I found the square to be quite large and appreciated the amount of space there. It was popular for tourists as well as locals having lunch and passing through yet I didn't think the area was crowded and congested. The square was very clean and well looked after.

Many people think this is just a square but behind the General's statue there is an entrance to a huge underground museum. It is so sad many people skip this place before entering the palace. That reminds me the word: There is an unseen thing behind every visible one. So if you go down the stairs or elevator you will at least witness the replica of this famous turtle ship here. Plus you can wear one of the traditional clothes here, get inside the replika ship and take photos. Please visit this place before you visit the palace and you can also chill at the square there are many shadowy areas and street music is on.

A big square with statues as can be seen in photographs. Other than that, nothing much could be said. The huge video ads on the buildings could be interesting for some.

Love to be real!!! What I have see in K-Drama is on my sight. Nice performance on that day, I think it's kind of guard shif-change? Many places to be share on photograph.
