This was our first visit to the area and stayed for two nights. Checking in and car park was fine although we were a little late but rang ahead to let then know. Staff were fine, helpful and courteous, an easy four stars so far. Our room ( number1) was outside witch was not problem until it rained rather hard. The room itself was adequate and the bathroom large. Warning the bathroom tiles are very slippy when wet. The carpet was very dirty, well beyond what was acceptable, otherwise the room was adequate. We were disappointed in the room service because second morning we discovered that there was no shower gel. we had used the supply of one small bottle the previous morning and it hadn't been replaced. The hotel is in a good position with car parking . Can't comment on the evening meals as we didn't use the dinning room. Breakfast was fine and the service good. Main gripe would be that we were woke very early in the morning by the outer door being allowed to slam shut. This was repeated again and again was for over an hour by which time we were both wide awake. Overall it could have been better and should have been better. I would also add that the decor in the main building was very dark and dismal( mainly black everywhere) If we were to stay there again we would insist that the room would have to be in the main building to avoid the slamming door.

My son had his wedding here on Saturday. The function room was perfect for 130 people. The tables were not too close to each other. Food and service were great. Jane the co- ordinater is an asset to the company. From. 4 a.m in the morning she was at hand to ensure everything ran smoothly. Constantly checking that everything was as we wanted it. There was plenty of accomodation for guests and a few other places to stay locally. I would recommend the Emlyn hotel as a place to host your wedding or other functions.

Went for our daughter's wedding and had a great time, the staff were incredibly helpful and all went exceptionally well but we were a little concerned at breakfast on Sunday morning (served between 08:00 and 09;00 only) when we were in the first 5 couples down to eat. The chap on the next table - he said he was the first person down - had the full English breakfast, and was merrily munching his way through two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two hash browns, two eggs, mushrooms and beans. I tried to order similar but was asked not to, and to order only one of each as "they may run out of food" As the hotel was fully booked, I would have expected the staff to have ordered sufficient food to cater adequately for everyone? It was only a minor inconvenience, but for the price (£140 per night) you'd think two sausages would not be unreasonable.

Gemma & Fiona , made our stay very good indeed, they certainly know how to deliver great customer service. If I still had my business I would employ them like a shot !! If it hadn't been for the Idiots in the room above ours moving around most of the night (on creaky floorboards we appreciate it is an old building) and disturbing our sleep the stay would have been a full 5 Stars, We will definitely come back again but stay in a different part of the hotel next time.

We had our special wedding held at the emlyn hotel on the 15-02-2025. What a lovely venue! From the very first meeting with Julie we just felt like our wedding would run perfect! Julie went above and beyond to cater for our day and night. The bar staff, waiters & waitresses, hotel staff were all fantastic and made sure everyone was happy and enjoying! The food was outstanding, everyone complimented on how lovely the service was along with the meals they had!

My husband and myself got married at the Emlyn on the 29th December 2024. The wedding day for us was incredible and we had the best day we could have ever asked for, our guests loved the venue and all commented on how gorgeous the venue was, how good the food was and how lovely the staff were. Everything was perfect, i didn’t worry about wanting, Julie was like a wedding coordinator/ angel throughout the entire booking experience, visits and the day itself. Julie is so beyond incredible at what she’s does and made our day perfect. We had a power cut at 5am whilst getting ready (not uncommon in December in Carmarthenshire to be fair) and Julie had a plan A,B & C just in case we needed it. As a bride having Julie there was what kept me calm throughout the entire thing from early planning to the day we checked out after the wedding. Thank you Julie. The rest of the team were also Absoloutely incredible and deserve all of the praise they can get, they were friendly, polite and quick at their job, no one had to wait for drinks and nothing was too much to ask. Even down to the staff dishing me up and dinner so I could have it once I took my dress off as I couldn’t eat at the time. The venue itself is so pretty and exactly what we wanted. I wanted quite a simple look and didn’t have much in the way of centre pieces etc and it’s the kind of venue that’s beautiful both with and without all centre pieces and decorations. If you’re thinking of getting married in this venue, do it. I thought it would be too good to be true because of the cost being significantly better than most places, however it really is just that good. My husband and I stayed at the hotel the night of the wedding and the room was spacious and the breakfast was lovely! It was so nice to see our family and friends the next morning and catch up on the night before. We will ABSOLOUTELY come back to visit, hopefully near our anniversary and hope that we can experience a wedding here as a guest next time.

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms were spotless. Enjoyed breakfast, I went for the full English, I am not quite sure if they called it that, being that I was in deepest Wales :). All members of staff were courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel.

If your looking for your wedding venue, come and pay Juile and her team a visit They were totally amazing from day one. Every single question answered, never felt like we shouldn't ask anything, they always offered suggestions and advice which made our day even better. Our wedding breakfast was amazing. Everyone still asks how the sauce was made... the staff work so well together a true team. Staff who care about us. The hotel is so clean, the rooms amazing and comfortable. The gardens kept beautiful and clean. You will absolutely love this beautiful venue. Thank you for helping us organise the best day ever Mr&Mrs Carter-Clare

Yelp
This is a pleasant hotel set in the centre of a pleasant town. The rooms are modern, well equipt and very comfortable. The bar meals are excellent and I would recommend the faggots. However, the best aspect of the hotel are the staff who are cheerful, polite and helpful

Yelp
The rooms here are comfortable, modern and well equipt. The beds are comfortable and the decor is relaxing and pleasant. There is in the room facilities such as freeview, wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. The full breakfast is generous and of good quality. The sausages were, however, rather stale and odd on our visit.

Yelp
Pleasant? Sure. Nice? Sure? Clean? Not even close. Attentive personnel? Nope. The check in staff does as best as they can. Sadly that can not be said for household nor the bartender. The hotel is by far being cleaned on a daily basis. The beds are made but not changed. Nor is the carpets vacuumed or shower cleaned- with empty shampoo bottles left in the shower. And hair. The bartender does not have the basic ingredients to make a mojito nor their signature cocktail Emlyn Dragon. Not to mention their lack of maintenance or their fond of telling adult people what to do or not to do, with their many many printed signs. Despite the fact that room service closes at 9pm. The shower cabinets do not close properly, causing the bathroom floor to flood. The overall maintenance is showing with lack of paint and so forth. Then there is the breakfast. Coffee is out in the open, so is the juice. Tea you need to beg for. When you do get it, it's cold- at least according to the tables around me. So you do toast. That you get 15 min prior to the rest of your breakfast. Welcome to the 1950s's. If there was a Radisson I would stay there. If there was a Hilton I would stay there. If there was a Marriott I would stay there. Hell, if there was a Clarion I would stay there. This is not island living- just a hillbilly hick town in the middle of freaking nowhere. I wish there was an option.
