Remarkably beautiful and chilled green place in the city, full of restaurants and cafes for any taste. Perfect for a walk to enjoy the day. Very pet friendly.

Lovely walk! Nice to have some greenery in the city. I was hoping for something like a skywalk like a similar one in New York. But unfortunately this one is street level and still feels very much surrounded by the bustling city. Still a lovely place for a bit of a break.

Been here with my ex lol good place for hiking but we stuck in the middle because of the muddy ground from last night rain. So we go down and ate kimbab near the small river. Lots of caterpillar so make sure you bring twigs with you (nice tip from the ajjushi there hahaha)

Nice little run in Ma Po, very good urban redevelopment of an old railway track

Gyeongui Line Forest Park is a linear park in Seoul, South Korea, located along the former Gyeongui Railway Line. The park stretches for several kilometers, starting from Hongik University Station and passing through areas like Yeonnam-dong and Gongdeok. It’s a peaceful and scenic space with walking paths, green spaces, and benches, making it a popular spot for locals to relax, jog, or have picnics. The park has been designed to incorporate nature into the urban landscape, with trees, flowers, and small gardens lining the path. It’s especially beautiful during the spring and autumn when the flowers are in bloom or the leaves are changing colors. The park also has small cafés, shops, and restaurants along the way, particularly in the Yeonnam-dong section, which is known for its hip, artsy vibe. Many visitors enjoy exploring the local cafés and independent stores, as well as checking out the street art and murals that are scattered throughout the area. As a tourist, Gyeongui Line Forest Park is a nice place to unwind while also experiencing local life in Seoul. It’s not a typical tourist hotspot, so it offers a more relaxed, authentic vibe. It’s easily accessible via Hongik University Station (Subway Line 2), and the park’s proximity to the Hongdae and Yeonnam-dong areas means you can also explore these lively neighborhoods filled with cafes, galleries, and boutique shops. The park is ideal for a peaceful stroll or a leisurely afternoon, and it’s a good place to see how urban renewal projects have transformed old spaces into green, community-focused areas.

It’s an urban green path with trees and benches. Many citizens walk their pets in this area. We sit here and took a break after shopping.

Very gorgeous, chill, and relaxing park. Given that they're just a short walk away from Hongdae, is definitely a huge plus; also shows the 180 switch and variety that Seoul brings to the table. On weekends, do expect to see couples, street performers, families, kids, dogs, etc roaming the park. Grab a takeaway from Hongdae, bring it here to enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather, and you'll easily spend a few hours here winding down and soaking in some local inspiration.

It's located in the crowded area of Hongdae, but it provides for a perfect walking route. It can get very crowded during the weekends. However, very recommended for weekdays and evening walks. You can spot many people walking their cute dogs and random street cats along the line. Fun fact; the remaining train track you can see along the path are remains of an old train line that went all the way to North Korea.
