The nacho platter sold us; full of flavor! We tried a few other dishes as well and a burger. All items were delicious but a little too much salt in all of them. Service was great also. Will make a special stop just for nachos again!!!

Google
Not sure how the place can have more than one star. Really misleading. Starting with the house salad dressing, it was bad and when I told the server I didn’t like it she gave me a bad look. My friends couldn’t even finish their food because it was too bad. The pasta overcooked, the rice undercooked. The flavors overall weren’t good. We shared the chicken buena vista and didn’t finish it. Way overpriced for what it ended up being. Never returning, no way this place can be recommended!

Had an awesome experience, my first visit and I will be back next trip to St Augustine. The only thing better than the Gypsy chicken was the key lime pie, and the view from the bar seating was the only thing better than the pie! Thanks for an awesome birthday meal!

We dined at the Gypsy Cab Company on Anastasia Boulevard on June 23rd for lunch…three people went way above and beyond expected customary service…Jen the hostess, our awesome waitress, Dana and Mary Kay who made the sweet tea for the guests and brought us our to go box…all were extremely attentive and kind. We had ridden our electric bikes for 4 hours all over the historic district in St Augustine. We were in search of some food that wasn’t “hot” as I was getting overheated, so we pedaled across the Bridge of Lions to head for the beach… :) …it was almost 100° with no breeze. Coming inside to air conditioning was delightful! Dana brought me an ice cold wet towel to cool off with….and lots of ice water to drink. She really was extra kind to us. We are from the another touristy area of Florida; the Emerald Coast with incredible seafood so we opted for a wrap and a chicken salad sandwich. What a delightful meal! Large enough portions to save half for dinner! What a great place you have! We will return! Thank you and namaste’, Marilue

Google
Local hidden gem. Wonderful customer service and great food options. In town for the weekend and stumbled upon this leaving the Alligator Farm. It does not disappoint. Blackened mahi was some of the best I have ever had.

Google
Food was good Waitress was very nice and the food was not bad. Just trying something new. It did not disappoint. I ordered something that had scallops but they put shrimp instead but food was good either way.

Google
The food at this place is crazy good. We ran in for a quick meal, not really knowing what to expect, and we were blown away. Excellent service and a fusion of flavors. The coconut pie was excellent.

Google
Great established restaurant in St Augustine. Our food server Dana Frank knows the menus and she helped us decide what to order from many delicious items. It’s a five star WOW

Yelp
Stumbled into this Anastasia Island mainstay for brunch and was very pleased. Staff were friendly, meals tasty and the complimentary corn bread muffins were top notch. Add to that bottomless guava mimosas and our day was off to a great start. AND purchased some local art right from the wall!

Yelp
Yep Monday at Gypsy Cab - special discount for locals on Monday. Wife had their meatloaf special which she loved. Mashed potatoes are yummy. I had the chicken large enough for some take home. Plenty of parking- friendly staff.

Yelp
ok, its now 8 pm and i finished my dinner here at 6 pm. My stomach settled long ago, but my taste buds are still doing a 'happy dance'. still a great place for a unique and very delicious meal!

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've been here (about two years). Glad I came back! We walked in to a welcoming interior that was bright and cheerful. The waiter (I'm sorry I forgot his name) was very helpful and gave us excellent service. The food was fresh, hot, and delightful. Of course we couldn't pass up on the house dressing. It was super! Gosh, I could drink that stuff. We didn't have any dessert, too full! Our only problem was that it was difficult to hold a conversation with the noise level. Maybe some noise absorbing ceiling tiles? Otherwise, we'll be back!

Yelp
I was heading into St. Augustine today and someone had recommended this place to me for a good place t o eat. They were right. The restauarant has a varied menu with appetizers, salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, burgers and entrees. I had seen a picture of the Gypsy House Salad and it looked good so I figured I would give it a try. It comes with green leaf lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, tomato, cucumber, red onions, olives, hard boiled egg, house made croutons, garbanzo beans, pepperoncini's, and Swiss cheese. I added blackened chicken to the salad and had the house dressing. The salad looked great and tasted even better. Service from Kelly was friendly and quick. The ambiance has a black and gold color scheme, as well as many colorful art items on the walls for sale.

Yelp
My husband and I ate at Gypsy Cab Company earlier this week on a short visit to St. Augustine. The waitress was very nice which is why I gave it 2 stars. The food was a different story. I ordered the fresh catch which was grilled. It was $30 and a very small portion. It came with a side of vegetables and rice. All were cold! The fish was a bit warmer but not the temperature that is acceptable. I told the waitress and she brought me new vegetables and rice. The new order was slightly warmer but the zucchini was not cooked. I muddled through but left unsatisfied. My husband's meal was a chicken dish which was passable but not good. Unfortunately I would mot recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Had a family gathering of 7 here for dinner and was well taken care of throughout our dinner by our server Alanna. Place had that comfortable Florida vibe and easy to carry on a conversation with everyone. Appetizers and salads were plentiful and delicious. And main meals were served efficiently and were devoured by everyone at our table. The seafood of the day and the fish special were especially delicious for my wife and I. We finished off with key lime pie and it was among the best I have ever had. Overall The Gypsy Cab Company is a great local place to go where you are met by friendly staff and can get some great food at a reasonable price

Brian T.

Yelp
The grilled shrimp salad and Italian Sausage Sautee were great! The Parmesan garlic dressing was amazing and we loved our waitress, Kelly!

Alison B.

Yelp
I came here for Christmas Eve around 2:00 and they were serving the dinner menu and the December specials. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, although it was not busy at the time. Our server was kind and explained all of the specials to us. The Christmas Sangria immediately caught my eye, as well as the other 3 people at the table. It was delicious! Sweet, but not too sweet and very festive! I ordered the blackened shrimp nachos (normally an appetizer, and can also be made with chicken). They were just the right amount of spicy! The decor is eclectic and the restaurant is spacious. I would definitely return!

Charlene W.

Yelp
The food was on point! The service was friendly and my friends loved their choices too. I got the escargot over angel hair pasta with garlic bread. I was sopping up the juice with my bread...it was that good! I was surprised at the amount of escargot and took my left overs home..it tasted just as good heated up the next day! It does have a bit of garlic and I love garlic so I was a happy camper. Great idea as a before concert stop near the amphitheater too as it's right around the corner.

Yelp
Eclectic, casual local eatery with friendly service and tasty food. Received a friendly welcome as we entered for a late lunch. Enjoyed the eclectic decor and music. Wine and liquor available but decided to stick with water. Started with an appetizer of Chili Rellenos. Anaheim chili peppers stuffed with cheese and served with rice and beans. Nice flavors but would have preferred the cheese to be more melted. Entrees included the Turkey Reuben which was served with a side. I chose sautéed spinach which was fresh and a nice change from the typical French fries. Of course French fries are an option too. The Reuben was grilled to perfection with just the right amount of Russian dressing and sauerkraut. Would definitely order again. Also enjoyed the Antipasto salad which was shared with my fellow diners. A large entree portion salad with fresh ingredients which included cheeses, meats, olives, tomatoes, onions, peppers and extra Italian dressing on the side. Enjoyed an optional protein of a scoop of chicken salad on the side for an additional charge. Superb! The Catch of the day and the Gypsy Chicken were also ordered and my fellow diners enjoyed them. A nice surprise of a dish of vanilla ice cream with birthday wishes arrived at the end. Friendly server who was attentive without being obtrusive. Thanks! A fantastic and enjoyable dining experience!

Yelp
Love the ambience of this little gem of a restaurant. The service is always good. The food is always great if you need something special or a little change around, they're so accommodating we tried to go twice a month.

Yelp
AMBIANCE / SERVICE: Gypsy Cab gives me a typical diner vibe. Server was friendly, however a little scattered. Server mad a good recommendation on their House Salad (see below). FOOD: My husband ordered the Gypsy House Salad, which he enjoyed. It was MASSIVE - probably the biggest "single serving" salad I've ever seen. I ordered the East LA Breakfast Burrito and was unfortunately very disappointed. The chorizo was not good - not sure if it was the quality of the chorizo used but for it being the primary meat in the burrito it ruined the flavors. Also, it was a very wet burrito and I'm not really sure why. The breakfast potatoes were good - I liked the cheese over the top. I could only eat so much of the burrito until I had to tap out. Out of all the food that was ordered with our group, the salad was the best. However, (3) out of the (4) meals were disappointing to my family. We will not be going back here unless changes are made.

Yelp
Small place we stumbled upon on vacation. Tried their house dressing and bought a bottle to bring home. Should have bought 3. I think they put golden oil in it- it's so good. I tried to replicate but can't. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The type of restaurant that everyone eventually searches for, whether you're a tourist or a local. The "hole in the wall" type vibe where the food is consistently great, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. The bar area is cab themed, which is pretty cool, and the walls are filled with local art (which might be for sale, not sure). This time we went for lunch, which was a first but definitely not a last. After scouring the menu, it differs from the dinner menu and they have rotating specials, I actually pulled up Yelp and saw someone else's food that looked great. I asked the waitress what it was and if it was still on the menu. They've always been super accommodating and flexible with their food in the sense that they can switch up ingredients - you just have to ask. In this situation, I switched Italian sausage for shrimp. It's the type of restaurant where you can order off menu and, depending on the availability of ingredients, they can make it for you. Case in point, I dined last time and wanted some type of seafood pasta dish that I had years prior but was no longer on the menu. They were like, let me check on that and see if we can make it. You won't leave disappointed regardless of what you get though. The portions were decently sized so no room for dessert. Next time I'll try the key lime pie

Diana H.

Yelp
The most delicious food and service. Try their house salad dressing and buy a bottle to take home. It's a delightful eating experience.

Le Anne S.

Yelp
Last minute decision to stop there. Cute interior. Daily specials are very good price. Fish and chips Friday was $10.00. Food was tasty. Nachos at the next table looked incredible. Service was good considering we were there at peak lunch time and waiter was accommodating

Claire P.

Yelp
Amazing food, and exceptional service (thanks Frank, you were so nice!). Highly recommend. Not only was the food superbly cooked, it was delicious and at a great price! The seared flounder with mango chutney was THE BEST! The French fries had a yummy crunchy coating, mashed potatoes were perfect too.

Chris C.

Yelp
First time, not the last. Excellent service and very attentive server. Decor fit the menu and surroundings well appointed. As far as the Clam Chowder was very good and creamy with a lot of Clams. The Muffuletta was over dressed with lettuce and tomato and lacked in Giardiniera/Muffaletta(Chopped Olive mix). Wrong type of bread, lacked the round Sicilian sesame bread. The bread makes the sandwich.

Derek D.

Yelp
We are locals and it's been here forever so figured we would finally give it a try. We sat at the bar. The bartender was incredibly rude and a smart ass. The food was just ok but for the price it should have been a lot better quality food. Nothing wowed us about this place and we will not be back. We are foodies and will pay good money for good food. This was not one of those places. Choose elsewhere.

Mark K.

Yelp
I know the food is good. I shouldn't hold it against them for having a one time failure from the kitchen. Service has always been excellent. Personally I'd like to see a new Gypsy Cab built on the same location

Son T.

Yelp
I've been here once for brunch with my husband. I ordered two eggs any style and loved it! (All items cooked to perfection in flavor, texture, amount). My husband had huevos rancheros and he loved it, great flavors too and good amount. *They serve Kookaburra Coffee (this is a gem). *Nice job Jeff! We loved your service and he got us Dátil Pepper sauce. -If I live in St. Augustine this will be my regular breakfast place.

Reecee S.

Yelp
My daughter and I went had a late lunch at Gypsy Cab today and met the most wonderful young man. Connick. He was great at his job and even better at conversation. Connick if you see this, you made our trip even more memorable with your kindness and the story about your brother. Good hire with this one Gypsy Cab! Food was great too! Thank you!

Jamal C.

Yelp
WE thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Gypsy Cab Urban Cuisine. Our family made the special trip to help me celebrate John's 53rd birthday. Our server Frank was on point. Just exceptional. He's a local guy born and raised there with an old spirit as we joked that many of us was double his age. Frank held his own with our large party. Ensuring that the drinks stayed full. The kids had activities to keep them occupied on top of serving up hot and tasty food. I guess that was all on the kitchen. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes are humongous. Well with the menu price. The ambiance is a casual laid back experience. Dress up or Dress down or simply come as you are. They have several local artist's work hanging on display. It Changes frequently. So If you see something you like, buy it now or it may be gone when you return. We laughed as we shared stories from back in the day. Frank was our photographer from time to time. He made Hubby's night surprising him with a slice of Peanut Butter Pie. Just great times in St. Augustine. Even better place to come with family and friends no matter what the occasion is.

David T.

Yelp
Great food at reasonable price! Note: currently serving in "corner bar" greenish building to the right of the yellow "Gypsy Cab" building while they improve that building's interior. Brunch prices $10-20ish Dinner prices $12-38ish Went twice within a week, dinner and brunch: Garlic mashed potato side Very Good didnt even need gravy Flounder and crab very good Gypsy Chicken OUTSTANDING tarragon and mushroom sauce over breaded fillet. Red cabbage and green beans needed a little salt, but overall very good and only $16ish One person in my part had Dark and Stormy or something: gonger beer, lime and Rum. Basically a moscow mule with rum and no copper mug. Great place and added to regular rotation!

Alicia P.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place...and the Gypsy Chicken. So, when in Rome.... that's exactly what I did. And it was VERY tasty and I liked the whole concept... the mushroom sauce on top was also very good (and I'm not a fan of lots of sauces)... The salad came with the Gypsy house dressing as well and it was very good too! I'd eat that probably every time I'm there (if I'm there again)... Great suggestion and I was glad to get off the beaten path and do like the locals do.... Service was good, it was a little slow, but it was a Friday night in prime time...

Marty H.

Yelp
We enjoyed the brunch on our trip to St Augustine. It has been a couple of years since we have been here. The foof is really good and great promotions. Great server attentive and helpful

T R.

Yelp
It's a little hard to fine the entrance into the Gypsy. It's located on the front entrance on the street. Parking is on the side and in the back so it's a little confusing on how to get inside. The decor is nice and the food is ok I had their special chicken dish. With mash potatoes it was ok.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Great service and the cream sherry sauce was great with the breaded chicken. Delicious pickled cabbage and yummy garlic angel hair as sides. Enough leftover for a second serving. Don't forget to have the house dressing with a side salad

Linda K.

Yelp
Easy to get to from St. Augustine on A1A. Bright yellow building on the left. The food is wonderful home made style. Great friendly service from the staff. Very varied menu. So pretty inside plus a separate room for parties and a bar! Will be back the next time we come!

Alex W.

Yelp
Another in a recent chain of places the product exceeded what I thought I was walking into. Being wrong rules. Went here because a nearby first choice I'll leave the name out of "didn't know" how long the wait was (that's a new one for me) and we needed an option for the night. It's a pretty short menu that I initially wasn't really digging but once what we agreed upon came out, pretty decent stuff. Calamari special was really well fried and not the fried to death pile of rings offered most places. If it came in frozen in a box like those, they did a damn good job of hiding it. Other plates we tried hit too. If you're looking at the salads and wondering how big they are because they are like 15 bucks, I didn't get one personally but I saw other people get them and they're going to be plenty for one person, or two as a starter before grabbing something else.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed our brunch here! It was a spur of the moment stop and we were not disappointed. My husband got the muffuletta sand which which was delicious. The olives on it were a nice touch. My eggs classical was very tasty. It was a combination of an eggs Benedict and their eggs Loraine. Lots of spinach which I loved. I did order grits, but they gave me potatoes. It was no big deal and felt it was just a mistake and not worth taking a star away. We will definitely be back. There are so many other dishes we want to try.

Jayln H.

Yelp
So good! I love the salads and homemade dressing! Friendly staff and the service is always good even when they're slammed

Rebecca I.

Yelp
Nice brunch menu with prompt staff. I got the crab and goat cheese omelette which sounded like an interesting combo of two things I like. However there were some shells from the crab and the majority of the contents was a heavy glob of goat cheese right in the middle. Try the fresh cornbread muffins though they are great!

Darryl A.

Yelp
I'm local and Gypsy Cab restaurant is always on our list. You need to call the restaurant for reservations. They are closed on Tuesdays. This is the place where locals go. They serve generous portions. I made a reservation for 4 -- my husband and I and my parents. It so happens the hubby and Dad were born on the same day (not year). The go to dinner entree is the veal cutlet topped twitch Boursin cheese. For us the go to appetizer is the hummus with fresh veggies and warmed pita slices. So good! The service was wonderful. Julia was super attentive as the others there. The food is delicious, generous portions and consistent. Friendly as they make you feel like family. Saint Augustine is lucky to have Gypsy Cab. It's a must on you 'To Do' list while visiting St Aug. A treasure!

Clifford D.

Yelp
First timer....Service was super slow. Arrived at 4:10pm and there was only 3 tables with customers. Out the door at 5:45pm. Wife had white clams and linguine. The clam dish was basically butter (alot of butter), pasta and clams with very little flavor. I wanted a sandwich and they were gracious enough to make me a burger. The burger was vey tasty and fries were not. Probably will not be my first choice to return.

Clara A.

Yelp
Excelente la comida , la atención de los meseros y el ambiente es agradable, solo que se tardaron un poco en traernos la comida , pero estaba deliciosa

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Staff was lovely and attentive. Atmosphere is a bit cafeteria like and doesn't feel clean. Food was ok, basic and passable. Wouldn't go back.

K P.

Yelp
Great service and amazing food! Try the shrimp BLT salad! So good and huge portion. Great local restraint!

Bill M.

Yelp
Are you looking for a place away from old downtown St Augustine? Well this is your place with some great food for a very reasonable price. We started with Clam chowder. It was really good. I would have liked it a little more creamy but it had some really good flavors. I then had Pastrami Reuben. I can't say it was the best Reuben I have had but it was good and the price was on point. Deb had the Italian sausage meal. This was huge! I think we ate on if for a 3 days! It was really good and filling. As others have said their menu changes daily I think but they seem to keep favorites on them. There are definitely options to try if you are feeling like exploring. A sold stop in St. Augustine

Margaret A.

Yelp
Have had dinner and brunch here and the food was very good at both. I like this restaurant because it is not too noisy with a very nice ambience. The service is also very good. It's one of our favorites.

Nova B.

Yelp
Waiter was super nice, food was edible but my father's fish was super dry and the rice was under cooked. This could have been fixed by possibly tasting the food before serving? Either way, the food was..edible nothing more. The stars are for the waiter, not the food.

Debra T.

Yelp
An interesting place. We were with friends and decided to grab something to eat before we met some other friends at a club for live music. We were seated relatively quickly on a Friday night which was a good sign. Our server approached us and seemed a bit frazzled. She quickly took our drink order and brought the drinks back to too long after. We put in our order right away. That is where the problem began. We waited, and waited. Finally one appetizer was brought out 45 minutes later. We arrived at 7 and we didn't get out of there until 8:45 waiting for our food. The food was ok. I guess I expected more for the prices. It seems they put a ton of pasta under each dish to make it look like more than it is. Kind of disappointed. Booo!

Debbie A.

Yelp
Great casual setting, server was attentive, portions were large and food was tasty. Exceeded our expectations!

David F.

Yelp
Arrived early around 5:00 on a Thursday and they may not have been ready for service just yet. We were a party of 4 and service was ok, timely but just seemed out of sorts. We ordered Gypsy Chicken, Chicken Parmesan and the Texas Brisket. All came with salads and some wonderful multi grain table bread. The entrees were all very good, strange that they all had the same side dishes. Seemed like they were working from a limited menu but you won't be disappointed by the food. It was as good as I remembered. Service was off, but we were there for the food. Grabbed a piece of Tiramisu on the way out. Would be 4 stars if the service was on par. Maybe next time.

Lindsey L.

Yelp
This was my first time eating at Gypsy Cab and I loved it! I ordered the Italian sausage pasta meal and it was full of flavor. We will be back!

Mike B.

Yelp
Thanksgiving this year was a destination. We traveled from PA. We were wait listed and picked up a reservation due to a cancellation. The meal was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend. We'll be back when we come down again.
