Gyū-an Ginza

I was searching for a wagyu spot in Ginza, and this restaurant came highly recommended. Arriving just after 1pm, I was seated right away. The décor feels a little dated, and guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering, which adds a traditional touch. The staff were attentive and spoke English, making the experience easy and welcoming. I ordered the wagyu from the daily special, which arrived promptly. The beef was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only drawback was that my clothes carried the scent of the teppan grill afterward, but that’s part of the charm of the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy wagyu in Ginza –unpretentious, delicious, and worth a visit.

A place I would love to gate keep but as it seems, enough people know about them as they were full and had to turn away walk ins. Sukiyaki set was delicious, and beef sushi was mind blowing. Service was also impeccable. 10/10 would recommend!

Traditional Japanese setting with a generally pleasant and formal atmosphere. The staff was attentive, and the noise level ranged from low to moderate, which was a positive aspect. I went for dinner alone, did not have to wait in line, and was seated immediately. I ordered a series of dishes containing beef along with beer. My only critique concerns the portion sizes. As a 90kg man who enjoys a hearty meal, I found the portions slightly modest. A bit more would have been appreciated. That said, I would recommend the place and would definitely return! Food and service still good when revisit after more than ten years. Both kobe beef steak and shabu shabu are soft and delicious. The appetiser was good too, especially beef sushi.

Incredible wagyu and kobe beef restaurant. Reservation recommended but not always necessary. Beed tendons and carpaccio appetizers are a must. Make sure to read the menu before requesting your meal.

Food was exceptional! I did not understand the popularity of wagyu and Kobe, but this restaurant answered it for me. Staff was super friendly and kind. Atmosphere is quiet and dimmed. Worth every penny. Highly recommend the fillet course.

Didn’t realise they have separate menus for lunch and dinner. Dinner is slightly pricier, but absolutely worth it. The beef quality is excellent — tender, juicy, and full of flavour. Service was warm and attentive. Perfect spot for a satisfying Japanese beef meal.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the area on our first day in Tokyo and decided to walk in around 8 PM on a Wednesday. Luckily we got a table and from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality. We received a thoughtful introduction to the menu, which helped us navigate the dishes. The A5 graded Kobe Beef and everything arround was absolutely delicious. A truly memorable first meal in Tokyo — thank you for the wonderful experience.
