Amazing Japanese restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious from start to finish - fresh ingredients, great flavors, and perfectly prepared dishes. I also want to give a special shout-out to the staff, especially our server Minh. She was super friendly, attentive, and professional, and truly made our experience even better. And one moment that really stood out: the way she changed our grill honestly deserves a medal for bravery - fast, smooth, and always with a smile. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you to the whole team and especially to Minh 🤍 for the excellent service!

Great Japanese BBQ experience! A wide selection of meats and sides, everything was fresh and delicious. The service was fast, the grill was easy to use, and the atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a night out. Special thanks to our server Minh! She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and always made sure we had everything we needed. Her great service really made our visit even better. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Overall, everything was perfect! Evelyn was taking care of us and she was exceptional, she brought everything right away and was so attentive to bring us more napkins (as I was eating a lot of chicken wings lol). The plum juice was cold and so sweet, I loved it. We asked for the All-Day menu and it is worth it, the best one was the Garlic beef.

Great experience at Gubee Japanese Grill. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The grilled items were cooked perfectly, and the portions were satisfying. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, making it a good place to relax and enjoy a meal. Evelyn provided excellent service, was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything went smoothly. Overall, very solid spot for Japanese grill. Would come back again.

I absolutely love this place — the food is always exceptional, and the new sushi addition to the menu is amazing. The only downside this visit was the service; we didn’t receive several items we ordered and had to ask multiple times. Still, the food quality keeps me coming back. If you’re looking for smoother service, the Dundas location is definitely better.

Our server named Mew was incredibly kind and attentive. We were so impressed that we even went to the ATM to get extra cash just to tip more!! The food goes without saying—everything was delicious and high quality. Although the name sounds Japanese, Gyubi is actually Korean-style, and their bibimbap is amazing. Highly recommend!

Gyubee has a great variety of dishes and products. We ate so much today, It’s an excellent restaurant with great service. We’re grateful to Mew, who was very kind and provided us with amazing service, always attentive to our table We will definitely come back!

Love this place. The food is delicious and I love how you can make it yourself. You definitely get your moneys worth and can eat as much as you want. The food comes out pretty fast and they don't make you wait too long. The place itself is really nice and if you can I would recommend getting a set with two grills to make it easier to cook. Even one is still great though! Love would 100% go for a 5th time.

Lunch time AYCE value can't be beat. Went on a Friday shortly after opening, and didn't wait at all. The food comes out SO fast. They have the best service. The meat quality is really good for the price. The non meat dishes range from good to mediocre, but the star of the show really is the meat.

Recently visited this location. Already expected the long line ups and wait. The thing is they offer yelp waitlist, i joined the line hours ago, the wait time keeps adding. They finally text me my table is ready. I went in and it was another 40 mins wait. Then why text me so early?!!! Not sure how the system works but ive used yelp waitlist at other restaurants and it was fine. Food and service is at par with the other locations. The menu keeps getting smaller and smaller. No chicken cartilage, no melona. Sigh...

Not sure why they got some 1 or 2 star but do note most of them are from a few years ago. We had good service in that they were prompt, responsive and our waitress always had a smile. They changed grill often enough. Food was good. Sure, not wagyu level but the cuts are decent. Unlike other places that serves meat loaded with day, Just enough marble to make for that tender bite. Tongue varies depending on the cut. An interesting twust is the garlic prawns in butter. So tasty. Just be careful not to overcook. Creme brulee was a nice finish. We each had two. Ice cream was Chapman cups. They do automatically as 15% gratuity so be careful not to tip again.

Steak can be better, and serving time a bit slow m. 3.5/5 not bad worth a visit fot boymth lunch and dinner at least 1 time

Very good Japanese bbq in a convenient location. Excellent service and very quick getting meat to you. Meat was good quality, though very slightly inconsistent at times. The only issue I had was that the desserts were not very good, which I feel is an important part of the all you can eat experience (sweet treat at the end).

The food is great and all you can eat is a fair price. It is very unfortunate they don't take reservations & the wait list takes 1.5-2hrs. You only get a 90 minute seating, which if you are having a few drinks and enjoying a night out is not enough time. When I'm paying $130 + tip, it's frustrating being rushed out and not able to finish my wine.

The venue is as lively as a downtown marketplace, but every minute of waiting is worth it. The staff are kind, quick to serve and happy to assist with questions. Every single item on the menu is to die for, especially the marinated meats. The cooking process is intense for first timers, but perfect for groups and get togethers. Book your spots in advance; the sooner the better!

Great location, great staff and quality food! Went with a group of six people to enjoy some food. We got seated quickly (because we had a reservation) and once we were all there, they started the 2h time limit from then. We ordered a whole bunch of stuff and cooked it throughout the time there. Everything was delicious! And we were all satisfied in the end.

Gyubee is always a hit. Just make sure to make a reservation or join the waitlist otherwise wait times can be excruciating. Once your seated, service is fast and efficient. The Nagoya chicken wings are one of the beat items on the menu, its already cooked so it saves alot of time.

Definitely get on the waitlist. You will not be disappointed ! The food is amazing ! Everything we tried was fantastic and of superb quality. And the service is top notch. Everything we ordered was at our table in like 2 min! Would definitely be back. Loved everything. Only tip is they only take Canadian dollars and Canadian debit. But they do have an ATM on site.

First time trying Gyubee and also the first time I had AYCE BBQ in years! Lunch was $26.99 for adult Monday to Thursday and $28.99 from Friday to Sunday and holidays. My friend and I came here 30 minutes past opening on Monday and there was still plenty of seating left. Minus the occasional fire alarms that would go off, the ambience was good. We got both cuts of the beef (the sweet soy marinated short rib and sweet soy beef brisket) and I got the shrimp. I like how they marinate the meat as it added more flavour. I got to try the bibimbap which was good but next time I will pass on it to enjoy more of the other food. We shared the side orders and my favourites were the kimchi, lettuce, bean sprout, and ssamjang. We also shared two butter corns which were good. Looking back, I forgot to get mushrooms and the seaweed salad so that's on the list for next time. We shared a pitcher of peach mojito and it was refreshing. Didn't really taste the alcohol in it though. I was definitely very full after the meal and to top it off we got melona (1/person). That day, they had either strawberry and coconut. I got the coconut and it was good! Service was straightforward and quick. I like how the servers don't gatekeep portions compared to other BBQ places I've been to. TLDR: I understand the hype. Solid Japanese AYCE BBQ restaurant with good service.

Nice place. Amazing staff. Great food I like how this restaurant has every table with little blinds that separates you from other guest around which is really nice when the place is super busy, you get to enjoy your food in peace no one is looking next to you. Definitely coming back here again with friends :)

Have gone here a couple times now. I want to start off by saying the food is delicious. If you are looking for something fun to do with friends, I would recommend going here. It's like an all you can eat, you get a two hour time limit, they bring you out your choices of meats, veggies , etc. you cook it yourself on a grill that's in the table. The service is good! They are quick and efficient with refilling your drinks and bringing out more food. I love the atmosphere! The only negative thing would be the wait time to get a table. I once waiting two hours for a table of 4. Got there at 7pm and only was seating after 9pm. They don't have a waiting area also , so the hallway gets very crowded. Be sure to put yourself on the wait list before you get there, so you can check in quicker!

Great price for amazing cuts of meat, great service!! I go at least once a month. The garlic brisket is incredible along with the kalbi and miso pork belly! Always comes fast and they change grill often

Excellent food, been here many times! My fav thing to get is the bibimbap despite the fact that it's rice and can fill you up. I always get 1 bowl and so do my friends because it's delicious. Whatever sauce they use for the stir frying is fantastic! The seasoning on all the meats is amazing and the service is fast. The only reason for 4 stars is the wait time. I always have reservations and even then you have to wait at least 45 mins. It sucks and I hope they honor the reservations better but other than that 10/10

Gyubee is one of my favourite to get Kalbi steak. The service has always been good and ambiance is fun many people come in groups of friends. Love the food overall for the price! Highly recommend to people always

I decided to try the other main Japanese yakiniku chain in Toronto (the other being Gyu-Kaku), and there are some notable differences which balance out. Gyubee is cheaper though they offer less variety of meat and require cash or debit (they don't accept credit cards). I found the quality of meat generally better at Guy-Kaku as well and my Japanese friend agreed. So if you are looking for cheaper Yakiniku this is your place, just remember to bring cash.

This was our first time at a Gyubee Japanese Grill. The one directly across the street from our hotel was booked for the night so we tried the one on Bloor Street. They only accepted cash or Canadian Debit Cards but there is an ATM if you only have American Dollars and Credit cards like I had. We had no idea what we were doing but the hostess explained for a flat price we could cook and eat all we wanted for the next two hours. Each table a built in grill that you had all to yourself to cook on. They had beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and tofu and a bunch of different sides. My wife isn't much of a red meat fan so she started with chicken wings and shrimp. My daughter and I jumped right into the beef. It was fun cooking our own meat while enjoying each other's company. We found the food to be delicious and by the end of the night was loving the beef. Yep, the lady who isn't a red meat fan was digging into it! Service was fast. Whenever we asked for more food it came in a few minutes tops. Our waitress was friendly and patient. We would definitely go back and try it again.

Amazing to the max!! Love this city vibe place no need for soft music the tables were all enjoying this hip and friendly environment! Reserved in advance the party got smaller from 6 to 5 people.. but they didn't serve us away.. the dishes were all cook yourself but they explained a lot and the staff wasn't speaking another language. They spoke well and didn't make us feel misunderstood. We try it all.. from beef, lamb.. seafood to vegetables.. we left really full and amazed at the food quality. The loss of 1 star was for the uncommon practice of not taking US cards at all.. so come with CAD cash or CAD credit/debit card.. it was tough because we couldn't Venmo our friend and made us feel bad. Incroyable au maximum !! J'adore cet endroit à l'ambiance urbaine, pas besoin de musique douce, les tables profitaient toutes de cet environnement branché et convivial ! Réservé à l'avance, le groupe est passé de 6 à 5 personnes. mais ils ne nous ont pas servis. les plats étaient tous préparés vous-même mais ils ont beaucoup expliqué et le personnel ne parlait pas une autre langue. Ils ont bien parlé et ne nous ont pas laissé incompris. Nous avons tout essayé... du bœuf à l'agneau... des fruits de mer aux légumes... nous sommes repartis vraiment rassasiés et émerveillés par la qualité de la nourriture. La perte d'une étoile était due à la pratique rare de ne pas prendre de cartes américaines du tout. alors venez avec de l'argent CAD ou une carte de crédit/débit CAD.

Very accommodating, extremely friendly, always making sure we got enough to drink, eat, and satisfied. Ambiance: always a nice place to go, nice decor, dry casual as well. Do I recommend this place? Heck yeah!

Gyubee is a fun place to go with a group and cook together. They have non-meat options such as salmon, clams, other seafood, and vegetables. The concept is All You Can Eat (AYCE). Unlike Korean BBQ which focuses on soaking and marinating the ingredients, Japanese BBQ uses more of a 'dipping' technique. The dipping sauces incorporate soy sauce, mirin (a type of red wine for cooking), and garlic.

Excellent beef options, plus seafood (i.e. salmon) & veggies. Been to KGH many times & there're more varieties here - i.e. seafood (though the price is higher of course). Overall, I'd say it's not all that different from KGH - it's a slightly higher-price (fancier) option.

This is a very busy spot that does not take reservations (you can add yourself to the wait list on Yelp which I would recommend). The food is an "all you can eat" so the price is reasonable and quite delicious. The staff went gone above and beyond the first time I visited and it left a fantastic first impression.

Wow, what a phenomenal place to go. Some of the best AYCE Kbbq and service I've ever experienced! Things to know: 1. It's cash only!! 2. Get on the waitlist EARLY We got on the waitlist Friday night and we were ~70th in place. In 2 hours of waiting we were only down to 30th in line. We ended going over when we were ~18th in line and told the front of house and they seated us pretty quickly. As for the food, honestly try everything. We loved the Galbi, pork belly, brockets and sausage. Also get at least 2 creme brûlées. I ate 5 of those things and I don't regret it one bit. Defintely an amazing place to go with friends or for a specials celebration :)

I'm not a BBQ fan or meat lover, but can tell that their meat quality and variety are pretty good. There were so many different types of meat on the table so I couldn't remember which one was what, but the ones I liked were Miso Beef and Lamb. The rest were also good but not as good as those two, plus I really couldn't tell which types they were. The one cut in small cubes - which I believe was one of the beefs - a bit chewy. They have taro ice cream! Asked for peach mojito with extra alcohol, didn't taste alcohol but it was extra sweet that I'll say. Great place overall. If you are a meat lover then you should definitely visit.

The food was great! We ordered thin pork belly, lamb, a lot of beef, cold noodles, butter corn, and other veggies. We ordered a second round and heartily ate everything. The ambiance was nice and the seating was enough for 5 people. We needed more surface area for all the food, but with the meats in thin slices were cooked fast so we could stack up our plates. The only issue was getting a table. We were told to wait and when the wait time was over, we inquired again and were told it was ready. It wasn't. We had to wait again because the party before us was finishing up and settling their bill. If we were told to wait longer initially, it wouldn't have been so frustrating. Please be advised that they take Canadian debit and cash only, but they have an ATM.

The service was the worst literally. There were only like three plates of leftover and I don't know why they are charging a fine for this while the male waiter was acting so rude. People should not go to this restaurant bc the bad service and attitude. The funniest thing is that I still need to pay them tips

The Bloor location is my favourite in the Toronto area. The wait list isn't usually too long and the dining area is spacious and clean. The service is good as there are a good number number of servers, and they change your grill for you at a good frequency without you having to ask. The food here is always tasty as well. The meats are fresh and well seasoned, and I haven't had any complaints with the desserts or appetizers to date.

Finally I was able to find an eat-all-you-can grill here in Toronto. It was worth the money... and wait time! *Service was excellent *Food was superb *Ambiance was great One thing I like about this grill place is that all selections in their menu are avaiable. PS: I think I'll keep coming back!

Good value and good meat. Last call is a bit early but they are quick at bringing good out.

Food is good but the wait times are ridiculous ( rmb to get on their waitlist or call) and their seating arrangement IS AWFUL. We had a party of 6 and made a phone reservation for 5:30, the host informed us if our whole party doesn't show up we will still be charged for our party of 6....... Our party of 6 turned into just 5, and thankfully they didn't charge us for the extra person, however they changed our tables from a spacious table with two grills to a small booth for 4 with one foldable chair near the main walkway. I know if you have a party of 1-4, the booth will be just fine with one grill, but 5+ they should really put us at a bigger table. We had NO space to eat because our table was filled with the raw food coming from the kitchen. They were not consider AT ALL Hence they kept bringing out the raw foods with little to no table space... As my party finished up, we saw many empty tables at the very back and a long line in the front of the house. I think gyubee on bloor should stop leaving those empty tables open and let these hungry people get seated.

Probably the best "cook it yourself" Asian BBQ I've ever had and I've tried most of the places in the area

Came here during dinner and had to wait almost 2 hours to get a table for two. It was my first time going to Gyubee and I heard good things about it so I really wanted to try it. A bit pricier than other AYCE bbq locations, I'd say it is very much worth it. My favorite meats to eat were the marinated meats and most of the side dishes. I'd have to say that service was very attentive and fast as we did get our food quite quickly after we ordered which was a plus because we were very hungry. All in all, I'd love to come here again or try one of their other locations!!

In my opinion the best AYCE Japanese bbq place there is ! I have been to all their locations and I don't have a single complain . The staff are always super friendly and attentive the food is always great and the experience is amazing and not to mention their pricing is great as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant for any event just make sure to join the line up using yelp !

Visited Gyubee (Location on Bloor) on our last trip to Toronto as we were craving some good bbq and this place seemed to have pretty good reviews. We really enjoyed our visit! Although the menu is not extremely large, the quality of the meats and side dishes are great for the price. The only "downside" (which I think is true for many of these AYCE places) is you have a limited time of 2hrs to eat which is already started from when you are seated. The service was great and attentive when we wanted to order more. Note that this bbq spot fills up super fast. We were there on a Thursday evening and got there before 5pm and the place was already half full. Would recommend!

I go here every time I'm in Toronto. It's on Bloor and Huron next to U of T. I also like the boba store next door. They only take cash but also give a $2 discount! They have some mixed drinks for $5 each. They are served in a mug biu don't have much alcohol in them. Staff are friendly and fast. It's all you can eat. Includes miso soup, salads, even dessert. Creme brûlée is good, but a small serving. I highly suggest ordering zucchini and pineapple to grill. They are delicious on the bbq.

Food is good, but the level of service is getting worse. Serves tend to ignore tables that they think ordering "too much". Also they're trying to to push you hard around the last order time :(

I must caveat this review by saying that I'm not a fan of these Asian BBQ concepts. I find that I spend more time cooking my own food rather than eating. That said, Gyubee serves up great quality meat (relative to other Asian BBQ places), most of which are coated with a delicious marinade. They could really improve the menu though - I was hoping for more variety, particularly for non-meats and dessert.
