On the Grid : H Mart

"Stocked with a large variety of groceries and Korean and Japanese goods, H-Mart is both a place to find unique foods and get the grocery shopping done. Plus, there’s often samples so if you’re not ready to buy a new brand of mochi or soba noodles, there’s a chance you’ll be able to try it first." - Intrepid

Google
H Mart is a Top notch market. There is a nice selection of fresh fruits, and vegetables to choose from. The choices of different noodles to choose from is a big perk of shopping at H Mart. There is also a large selection of not only fresh seafood, and meats to choose from, but also an excellent choice of marinated meats, and fresh kimchi to pick from. A large selection of juices (American & Asian) rounds off the stores large variety of options to choose from. They also sell liquor at this location too. The Cashiers are nice, and the staff is all around pleasant. An excellent shopping experience.

Google
It’s a smaller H Mart compared to the one I’ve visited before, but it still offers a great variety of items. I got the viral mango Icecream and it was worth the hype. I really enjoyed the visit. The only downside was that I couldn’t find a public restroom, only saw one marked for staff.

Google
Decent HMart. Can get busy and packed. Good variety. Has bakery and alcohol.

Google
Great produce and an amazing assortment of fine fare to choose from. There's a side room with a whole other department of housewares!! The front of the house could use some sensitivity training. Just being personable would be an improvement. Overall, it's a delightful establishment, minus the latter.

Google
H Mart is the must food shopping market, PRICE is right ….food, vegetable, snack…etc you name it! One word. FRESH!!! I love the eatery area. Neat, clean, variety dishes for you to choose. Oh yeah… cakes 🤩😋

Google
Clean store. Unique items & good variety. Prices are on the higher side. I wish my $8 pear didn't have a large bruise under the price tag, where it was impossible to see. Seems intentional? Wouldn't mind if it was discounted. Parking is a challenge if you're driving. Overall worth checking out.

Google
An excellent place to fill up on your ingredients, sauces, meats, veggies, etc. An excellent store to get your groceries, drinks, snacks and food. There is hot foods served here. If you've been to other HMart locations, there are some similarities with this one compared to the other ones. Right as you walk in, you will find a few restaurants to eat at or you could order on your way out. The employees are helpful but always busy stocking up on items. There is a back room that's dedicated to more drinks and kitchenware as well. Overall, an excellent place check out if you're in the area and trying to satisfy your Asian cravings. *There is a parking lot behind this building you can use but parking is small and VERY limited.

Google
Very full-service store; has fresh fruit and veg, including hard-to-find items, as well as surprisingly well-stocked fish case (note the pic of the monkfish—with head!!); amazing array of red meat, including items like kobe beef short ribs, wagyu, etc., & even some choice grade cuts. Absolutely amazing selection of shelf-stable/non-perishable foods & ingredients from all over Asia, not just Korea, including things like roasted soybean powder that you cannot find in other groceries. You could probably stock your kitchen with all basic staples as well as your longed-for items from Asia and never set foot in any other grocery store again. (A slight exaggeration, but only slight!)

Yelp
I absolutely love H Mart! It's so fun exploring the store and looking for different sauces and ingredients. My absolute favorite is the prepared foods area, where they've got tons of amazing options. I've never actually tried any of the restaurants at the front of the store, but they have a few different spots and they always seem to be busy! H Mart in itself is an experience. The location is awesome, right in the middle of Central Square. Sometimes I'll stop by just to grab one or two things, but it's not really the type of place I'd go to for my essentials. I do think the prices are a bit high and there aren't too many options for some staple grocery items.

Yelp
If you're looking for Asian groceries/snacks, Hmart is the place to go! They've got everything from fresh fruits to to-go meals, including kimbap and **glass noodles**. This location is a bit more pricey compared to the Quincy Hmart. Parking is quite difficult especially in the evenings or on weekends. There's now an extended lot across Norfolk street, but it fills up quickly. The regular lot right outside the store is metered. Overall rating: 8/10

Yelp
Since I was here to eat dinner at Go Go Curry, I decided to buy some drinks and snacks before heading back to my hotel. There's the MBTA Central Square Station very nearby if you don't have a car. I found the selection of drinks and prepared food to be a bit lacking compared to other H Marts that I've visited. The prices were pretty standard for the area.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a small store but it has what I need! There's a large selection in the fruit section and leads to an even larger pre-made section to supplement the shopping trip. I like that the shelves are frequently stocked with fresh items. I even found out that they have fresh onigiri albeit a bit expensive at $3.99. The snack section is pretty impressive too. They carry many Korean favorites and some other Asian country snacks. My favorite section is definitely the frozen dumpling aisle. They have so much variety and always have my favorite brands!

Yelp
Shopping Asian markets is always fun. I love looking through mystery items (to Americans ) and discovering new products. I bought 7 pounds of kimchi for my father and stopped into the French bakery for some truly delicious desserts. 10 out of 10

Yelp
This ain't it, fam probably my most disappointing asian grocery experience since coming to Boston. It's a very small store, and I was SHOCKED at the prices I saw compared to the quality. Almost all the fresh produce, especially the herbs, were very wilted and everything was so expensive! Pears were $8 EACH--I have never seen them go for this high, and I don't think these pears will magically cure my ailments. The kimchi selection was ok, also fairly expensive and the prepared foods looked like they had been sitting out for a couple days. The Paris Baguette in front is also weirdly expensive compared to others I've been to, but not sure if they're associated with each other. Sigh, sad that I have to go all the way to Quincy or Chinatown for my Asian groceries, but let me repeat myself, this ain't it.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a good Asian food store if you are looking for East Asian packaged food. Produce is not great quality, just ok. Main reason for this review is a PSA: NO FILIPINO FOOD HERE and also they don't care and will never order any. Fair enough, just saving other people some time.
google avatar

Sam P.

Yelp
Nice produce. Good selection of Korean specialties but the meat is odd and VERY VERY overpriced!!!
google avatar

Lilian Z.

Yelp
The store is much bigger than it appears from the outside and has a nice selection of both Asian and American snacks. There is a good variety of instant ramen and fruit as well but as a whole items from the store appear significantly more expensive than they are elsewhere.

Yelp
(my pre-Covid-19 experience) I was in Central Square with a need for a quick meal. Thus, I entered H Mart, and picked up a bowl of Korean noodles with veggies 16 oz for $6.99 from their premade refrigerated section. When I paid at the register, I inquired about utensils and was handled a set of wooden chopsticks. It was quite a lot of noodles, so I packed some into my clean lunch bowl and nuked the rest in the microwave available in the food court - not the best idea as the plastic bowl warped a little, but it did the job. A strawberry croissant $4.79 from Paris Baguette did the job in ending my dinner with something sweet.
google avatar

Yelp
Biggest qualm about this place is the pricing (a bit high) and also the freshness of the vegetables (sometimes too stringy, too stiff). Also, they're dishonest about following the pricing laws - one time they charged something for a price that was higher than the one marked - by MA law, the item (under $10) is supposed to then be free. The checkout agent said, "Oh, we don't follow the law here." (!?!!?) Otherwise some of the materials are quite decent - the fish can be fresh, and marinade on the bulgogis are quite delicious, and the noodle dishes are good.

Yelp
Took a trip to H Mart on Mass Ave yesterday for the first time. First impression, this location is smaller than the one in Burlington but it makes for its bakery inside. I've been wanting to get those yummy pastries. So glad I now don't need to go to nyc for Paris Baguette bakery. Once I made thru the bakery I walked towards the market section. The precut fruits section was awesome. Lots of fruits, nicely cut and packaged. I moved on over the sashimi section. I spent over $100 with this trip and it's worth the trip. I just wish they will open up another location in the south shore!!! PS - didn't give 5 stars because the paper bag given didn't have any handles. It was heavy and challenging to hold a full bag of groceries. The cashier didn't want to split into 2 bags.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
They now have a liquor section for everyone who wants to get their Korean groceries and liquor without having to make a side trip to Blanchards or another liquor store.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm downgrading my review a full star due to the state of the small food court area that I recently dined at. Two friends met me for some tasty ramen, and the whole seating section was a mess. (See photo). This is not normal wear and tear- this is beyond that. All the seating that has padding is in the saddest state, and the walls are marked up/dirty. It definitely needs to be addressed.

Yelp
This location has everything. Paris Baguette for you to grab some bread and cakes, and several different take out restaurants if you are hungry. There is also the grocery store inside, which has lots of Asian products. Whether you are looking for fruit, vegetables, snacks, frozen foods, prepared foods, they have it all. I was quite impressed with the good selection of prepared hot foods. I also like the fact that they had sashimi so that you can make sushi at home. The frozen food section has lots of different types of dumplings. The snack section has Irvin's salted egg chips, if you like that stuff. Overall, a great Asian supermarket that has everything you need.
google avatar

Thanh L.

Yelp
The place is a cute spot to grab Korean stuff. It's a bit pricy and the selection is limited. The service is fine. The layout is a bit crank . The quality of the pre marinated meat is amazing. The same quality that your company is fine at a restaurant. Perfect for Korean bbq at home
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Not just Korean foods, this supermarket has a ton of other stuff. Lots and lots of imported tasty things. Sauces, powders, canned foods and candies and meats. All sorts of brands and languages that I could not understand at all. Plus a bunch of produce that was very nicely displayed and looking fresh. Meats in interesting cuts and preparations that have them ready for cooking with hotpots and grills. If you need it and it's something that's not regularly stocked at the local Stop 'n Shop? It's likely right here. [Review 10142 overall, 1728 of 2018.]

Yelp
This grocery store is really fun. I love coming here to just window shop for some Japanese and Korean food! its unique and fun, even though I don't understand most of the writings on the package.. but sometimes they have samples of the food they have and if you tried the food, it actually taste good. Came here after work to just look around since I was killing time and I am also in the area. So, I got myself some melon milk shake and kimchi veggie dumplings. I tried the sample of the dumplings and it was really good and I liked it, its a little bit spicy but it was just the perfect spice for one bite. I didn't stay that long because it as getting late and they have a little bit of the delay on the train. I only got two items but next time ill come back for some other good stuff they got.

Yelp
It feels weird reviewing a grocery store, but this is gd H-Mart! I love this place so much and wish I had one closer to me. Every time I'm in the area I can't resist going in to look at all the prepared foods. I usually buy a few banchan to bring home, and they are delicious, especially the spicy mini shrimp. They're also well-stocked as far as Asian groceries go considering how small of a store it is, and prices are reasonable. It also smells a hell of a lot nicer than most Asian stores do, so that is also appreciated. My only gripe is that it does get very crowded, so be prepared to have to navigate around people. Pre-COVID, they also gave out samples spread out periodically through the store, and I hope that one day they bring this back.

Yelp
This is the best HMART I have ever been to. It had so many prepared foods. I usually go to HMART in Flushing, NY or Koreatown in NYC, but this one in Boston caught me by surprise. Even their sashimi grade salmon was better than NY. It came with soy sauce and wasabi! An interesting selection of frozen foods as well. It must be great to be a college student in Cambridge!
google avatar

Danan R.

Yelp
LOVE this H Mart. It's a great option for grabbing a quick bite or groceries, as they have a Paris Baguette, Go Go Curry, and an entire aisle of prepared foods, includig soups, Bi Bim Baps, and sushi/sashimi. The salmon sashimi here is top notch and the bi bim baps are very solid - try the spicy calamari or fish sausage. Prices are very reasonable, as well. If I still were a student, I would be using my Tech cash here exclusively!

Yelp
I was so excited when I saw there was an H-mart right in the hood when I moved here. I guess, looking back, I was pretty excited about a lot of things when I moved here. But, you know, time passes, you visit the exciting places and you become a hardened, jaded individual. In the case of Central Square H-mart, it's a hardened, jaded individual who just paid $50 for frozen noodles and expired oranges. This is compared to H-mart in Burlington, which is this vinegar-smelling wonderland of interesting food, fresh produce and reasonable prices. H-mart Cambridge is like dumpster-diving Burlington H-mart, except there's a $10 fee to open the dumpster. Everything is more expensive and lower quality. I literally have not bought a piece of produce from H-mart that tasted like it was supposed to. The oranges are dry, the apples are mealy, the dragon fruits look like they've seen some shit. It sucks because it's right here. Which I think is pretty applicable to most convenient things in Cambridge. It's right here. Therefore, it probably sucks.
google avatar

Aislinn C.

Yelp
Tiny, clean, crowded. Three words to aptly describe this h-mart. Would I go back? I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but if I was already in the city I would probably swing by.
google avatar

Adamma B.

Yelp
We highly recommend trying some of the buns when you go, all of the ones we have tried so far have been great! As well as the skewers which were crispy and so flavorful (though not very spicy). The kimchi pancake was great and we loved that it had rice cake in it! The only thing we can't recommend is the curry it was very thick and salty, and the flavor wasn't that great. Otherwise we loved everything else we got! The service here is always great and the servers are willing to try and accommodate their customers!

Yelp
All staffs are masked and some even double-masked. I always stopped by when I am dining in Cambridge especially around Central Square. This location is small but more convenient compared to the H-Mart in Burlington. It is pricey but you can't really complain since most items here are import from Korea. I always purchase side dishes and frozen foods. I usually purchased marinated meat but it is getting more expensive. I ended up marinated myself since it is way cheaper. Vegetables and fruits are expensive. It is cheaper in other Asian markets with the same quality. Meat is pricey but some of them are worth it. Will come back again if I am around.

Yelp
H Marts are wonderful, and I feel lucky that this one is in the middle of Cambridge. It has a lot of good features: It's right next to the Red Line. It's got a good selection of produce and dry goods, and it also features restaurants and a bakery. However, its customer service is really awful. Many of this location's employees act as if they can't be bothered, especially Julissa on registers. She neither asks you if you need a bag, nor packs the groceries, nor waits for you to bag your own (which I actually prefer), before she's tossing other customers' items on yours. H Mart, please hire people who enjoy working for you and like your customers.

Blobtato M.

Yelp
Low quality, things near expiration. High price, might as well get groceries delivered. Rude staff, can't ask if they have something in stock.
google avatar

Yangsoo S.

Yelp
Do get: - Any Korean stuffs you can't get at the other Asian grocery stores including white kimchi, dumplings, seaweed, cheap instant noodles, gimbab, etc. - Fish / seafood here is pretty good, salmon head/skin is a deal to steal. - Fresh veges and tofu Don't get: - Regular groceries, they are usually overpriced - Meat selections are great and tasty, however, they are super expensive, go for them if you have some doughs to spend - Cut fruits Try avoid going here around dinner time, it gets pretty busy 6-7 since the place shares the space with Paris baguette and several other restaurants.
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
If you've been dying to end your ramen feast with a French macaron then you've come to the right place! I love all of the Asian food available in the grocery section (mostly Korean and Japanese) paired with the fancy French style pastries up front (Paris Baguette). They also have a Sapporo Sushi & Ramen (related to the one in Porter) and Go! Go! Curry as a mini food court of sorts. We ordered the veggie and the pork ramen from Sapporo (seat yourself and pickup with your # when ready). The bowls were large and about $11. For the price I would probably just go to one of the other ramen places in town and get served, but it's a quick relaxed meal and there's the bonus of a full grocery in the back.

Yelp
I used to enjoy going to this place, but the quality of the food and staff have really gone down hill. The following is a series of terrible experience I encountered at Hmart, I guess when the pandemic started, this was the only place that was open, so they took costumers for granted. Quality of "fresh" food has really gone downhill, many times I open a package of fish and smell a foul oder, (smells like bad breath and pee) or the meat look fresh on the display side but when you turn the meat around, it was blackened and moldy. The specialty eggs are a coin toss, I had so many rotten eggs experience I stop buying it from Hmart. Another crazy thing these staff would do was literally throw products around. I mean it literally, staff would literally grab stuff from the shelve and throw it to the floor. I also witness them kicking packages from end of the isle to the other end. A.) it is very disrespectful to the food that you are able to eat, b) it could had nearly hit someone, c.) it breaks apart the food inside the container, many times I would open an instant noodle package and the noodle inside was broken in pieces. That's not because of shipping that because the staff was throwing it around, hitting the floor. If that ever happens to you now you know why. Racist staff openly speaks racist remarks in Chinese. I don't look like someone who understands Chinese but I am actually conversationally fluent. Many times I hear the check out staff talking about "this black man" or "that fat woman", in the most degrading terms. They refer to their costumers by their skin color. Or they openly made fun of costumer's look. Jon Gruden's email is nothing compare to what these people say openly. Sometimes they would throw racist insults, in Chinese, right in the costumer's face, knowing they don't speak Chinese, then laughed at the costumers for not knowing they were insulted. The costumers would walk away none the wiser, thinking they were just greeted by a friendly staff in a foreign language. If you ever had an experience where the check out staff was speaking Chinese to each other, chances is they were making fun of you, knowing there is nothing you can do about it. There were a few times I caught this check out staff trying to pocket something I was buying, like he would push all my items onto the end, but kept a small item hidden or holding two item with one hand, pretending to release it but only one item was release. It is a common scamming technique in other places in the world. If you ever had an experience at Hmart where you think you had forgotten an item after checkout, that's because they stole it. The store manager was very rude and routinely yells at costumers. There was a time I was still bagging my purchased items, he literally push my cart away with food inside. He just points outside and said "not here". he then stop speaking and point outside with a stiff finger. I am a costumer not a dog. You don't understand how belittling it felt until you experienced it. I guess Hmart is making so much money these days they don't need to care about their costumer. If I stop stopping there, they don't care for one less costumers. If you value your dignity, you should stop shopping here as well.

Benjamin M.

Yelp
They are pretty busy but the lines are quick and the staff works fast. They have a wide selection on Asian goods, and their prepared foods are just fine.
google avatar

Tracy C.

Yelp
It's nice to have this grocery store in the neighborhood. However I am very disappointed in the quality of their produce. I bought four boxes of blueberries yesterday, they all look good from the outside. However, when I took a bite... all rotten, bitter, frozen aftertaste. I went through two boxes, to make sure it wasn't just a random bad box... surprisingly, every box I got are all rotten inside. Although they refunded me this morning, these items are still on the shelf. Im warning everyone who shops at Hmart, safe to buy snacks but be careful about their produce.
google avatar

Shuang Z.

Yelp
Kinda underwhelmed by the selection of food choices here. Over priced bakery and not so fresh kinda produce... I'm rather shop at Whole Foods. Staff are super friendly tho
google avatar

Grace M.

Yelp
Staff are all masked, wasn't crazy crowded today, but they will limit folks inside the store when it is. Since aisles are smaller, just be mindful of the traffic. Love that they have nice looking produce, sashimi, Korean banchan, frozen foods (dumplings, Filipino longanisa/tocino), seasonings, and lots of AZN snacks.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
This H Mart in the Central Square area and banchans and readily-marinated meats (bulgogi, dwegi bulgogi, etc.), snack items, candies, produce, specialty items, and limited houseware goods. The place runs a bit deep, as in the front, it's mostly a food court area - there's Paris Baguette and even Go Go Curry! The aisles are a little narrow, and navigating around is a bit tough. The place seems to be jam-packed all the time, especially with the dine-in patrons. Cashiers are friendly and efficient. This location does not have their own garage parking, so it's duking it out with the scarce metered street parking only! +food court by entrance area +quick cashiers +limited metered street parking only
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Comprehensive Korean supermarket. They have plenty of options that you're looking for if you need your Asian ingredients and snacks. Decent choices of snacks and drinks, lots of fruits and veggies, meats and seafood. Looking for hotpot ingredients? They've got you covered so you don't need to go to the Malaysian hotpot a few doors down. Also, samples every few aisles, so lots of things to try.
google avatar

Kanchawit P.

Yelp
This place is Asian heaven. I don't know about the pricing cause they don't have lots of promotion like other places like star market or Roche bros.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
Given that there aren't too many asian supermarkets in the Boston area,HMart is heaven sent because it is a great place to get all your Asian groceries and supplies that you can't find in other stores. My friends and I love Hmart so much that we literally make the trek out to Cambridge because each trip to HMart is totally worth it. I'm not kidding when I saw that you can find everything here--from fresh produce, snacks, frozen foods, ready-to-eat Asian dishes, cooking supplies/appliances, and even home/beauty products. Some of my favorite buys from here are frozen dumplings(they have so many different options/brands), samancos (great for dessert!), ramen (a quick and easy option for those lazy days) and pre-made foods (like japchae or tofu soup). But my absolute favorite part is I can get some of my favorite Filipino foods here. Frozen longanisa, beef tapa, and tocino...it's great that I have easy access to some of my favorite Filipino comfort foods. All thanks to HMart!! PRO TIP: make sure to bring your own bags because they charge you here for each plastic bag you use! Other than that, I LOVE U HMART~

Yelp
this market was literally across the street from my hotel in cambridge, making it quick and convenient to pickup basic groceries or a cheap meal in a pinch. on our last day in boston, we ended up grabbing a quick meal here before heading to the airport. i don't have much korean food in my hometown (have to drive a bit), so i loved seeing the pre-packaged boxes of kimbop (korean-style sushi), japchae (clear glass noodles), mandu (korean-style dumplings), and other traditional korean dishes. these were all priced at "student-friendly" prices and rightly so, since this was close to both mit & harvard. i spent about $15 on a mixed sashimi set and triple color veggies and ate in the seating area just outside the market. this area was shared with a few vendor stands selling fast food, coffee, and desserts, so quite a few customers sat here. the bathroom could have been a bit better kept, but considering the price paid, i turned my head the other way. i don't recommend driving here, take the bus or t to central station and walk a couple minutes, then sit down and people watch!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Asian grocery store with so many selections of sushi, sashimi and marinated meats. Veggies and fruits are very fresh and they have lots of fun snacks and drinks to buy. Aisles are narrow though and it can get a bit busy. There are 2 parking lots in the back. We love popping in to get some marinated pork bulgogi and kalbi with sides to make dinner at home.

Yelp
Not incredibly crowded around ~6pm on a Saturday, but the lot was pretty full. Pros: -Samples galore. Around every corner. A con is that it's easy to bump into the stand and knock things over. -Food court is awesome! Paris Baguette is a must-try. -Imported chocolate and candy (but it's $$$) -1 minute walk from Central T stop Cons: -Space is fairly tight -Parking is a city lot, so depending on hours you have to pay Probably wouldn't shop here unless I was looking for something specific, but I would definitely return for the food court.

Yelp
While much smaller than the Burlington location, this H-Mart is packed with interesting items (mainly Asian but some American standard grocery items mixed in). The food court is smaller and located as you enter. I tried Sapporo Ramen and it was okay. The real star was the bakery that had Japanese style cheese cakes (think Uncle Tetsu if you're familiar) at fabulous prices. Yum. We were so excited to see duck eggs. A little overpriced but worth it as we've been looking for them for ages. The goodie aisles are packed with chips, cookies and candy and hard to resist if you're hungry. We were pretty good although the prawn chips almost got us. We only purchased a few things - if they have the dragon fruit definitely try it. Pricey but so good. I'll make sure to stop in the next time I'm in the area as I felt this was a more chill shopping experience than the Burlington location - much quieter and not as packed.

Yelp
Always been a big fan of HMART because of the good quality of their products UNTIL TODAY. Tonight I bought a box of mangosteen at HMART Cambridge (for those who don't know mangosteen is a type of tropical fruit imported from Southeast Asia, costs $19.99 per pound) I paid $17.19 for only five or six tiny size of mangosteen. I was so excited because I expected these must taste so good if it cost me that much. When I cut it, tasted it, and realized every single one of them went bad (expired), I bet you know how that feels. REALLY SUCKS. AWFUL PURCHASE. HMART should take all of these expired items down from the shelves and give full refund to whoever bought these recently.

Yelp
Amazing selection of produce at reasonable prices. Produce almost always looks fresh and presentable. Great options for Asian grocery. Got a nice tuna steak there for very reasonable price

Yelp
So this supermarket is kinda like the Asian version of Whole Foods store. I don't understand what is all the hypes about this store. It is so over rated and over prices. The only good thing about it is the location right outside Central station on the red line. Which is convenient to those who wanted to buy Asian products right in the middle of the city. They carry pretty much all of the Asian products here. The store is pretty descent size, well organize, clean and well lite. Other than that, it went down hill after that. The foods in the eateries tastes crappy, expensive, and cold. I took a trip down to the store on the red line today. Parking is a bitch here so don't even think about driving in. The store is freezing cold. Stepping into the store and I thought I entered the North Pole. They have many open fridges with fresh products and they blast the ac to the maximum on an 70 degrees temperature outside. They have many choices and sizes of Kim chi to choose from. Which is nice. I'm a big fan of Kim chi so I grab a few of that. The products here are so expensive. You could get the same stuffs in Chinatown, Dorchester or Quincy at a cheaper prices. The two restaurants in front of the store sells ramen noodles, sushi and curry with rices. The display on the glass windows look great but the foods taste nasty. I ordered the combo #6 with curry sauce on rice with fried chicken, a cut boiled egg, a sausage and one fried shrimp tempura. It came to about $14.00 bucks. The foods came out about 10 minutes later and was plain cold. The black curry sauce look weird. I thought it suppose to be yellow instead but anyway it have no smell or spicy taste to it. The meal is a total disappointment. It does not worth for the price I pay for. The pastries shop out front is a joke. One small egg tart cost $2.25. It's alittle bit bigger than the size of a quarter. Seriously, really? I could get two large egg tarts for that price in Chinatown. You could finish the egg tart in one bite. Don't bother waste your time and money here. Go to Chinatown for all your Asian grocery needs. The stuffs here are ridiculously expensive!!!

Yelp
I have been deprived of all my good Asian snacks and pre packaged meals until I came here. Coming from CA, I was literally spoiled for 23 years of my life living right next to all the big Asian markets and restaurants. This H-Mart is my savior in this city. It stocks pretty much all of my needs, from red pepper paste to dumplings to Calpico, etc etc etc. I left with happy tears and multiple bags full of snacks and ingredients. The only downside is that produce is on the more expensive side. It's probably better to do that shopping elsewhere. It's also connected to a Paris Baguette. Another big relief since I've been craving 85c/Paris baguette and for some reason haven't been able to find an equivalent in Chinatown. Thanks for existing, I'll be back once my pantry runs empty

Yelp
The only place in Boston that sells the 2x spicy ramen(I think)!!! There's a small parking lot for you to park, and you have to pay for it. Once you enter the market, there's a wall of ramen to the left. I've searched other places, but only Hmart carries the 2x ($7.99/package). They have a good variety of fruits/groceries/Korean food/meat cuts. Note that they charge 10 cents per plastic bag or you can bring your own.

Yelp
A great place to pick up some food or check out the graffiti alley next door. I picked up an iced latte from one of the service counters and enjoyed it.

Yelp
No enough space for too many people, always crowded. The fresh durian is very good! Most items here are actually more expensive than the same products in other asian supermarkets.

Yelp
I sort of walked in blind to this place. Thought it was more of a French cafe at first because the Paris Baguette portion was the first thing I saw. I ordered from here first. I got the croque monsieur, the smoked sausage bread and the croissant donut. They were all good, but the standouts for me were the croque monsieur and the croissant donut. The croque monsieur is made with real bechamel sauce which I love. The croissant donut is incredible. Especially warmed, which I asked the attendant to do. I would recommend asking them to do that for everything. Later on, I moved to the actual market located in the back of the surprisingly large area, and it didn't disappoint. They have an abundance of Korean, Japanese, American and other imported and specialty items. This is a great place to just enjoy some cafe items, some prepared ramen or Japanese curry, some mainly Asian groceries and specialty items, or a bit of both.
