On the Grid : H Mart

"H Mart is a pristine supermarket chain specializing in Korean and other Asian foods and housewares. There's a great selection of high quality produce, exotic fruit (logan, dragon fruit, Korean melon, sugar plums, durian, banana flower, jack fruit) and seafood. With lots of grazing opportunities at food sampling stations and row upon row of colorful imported packaged foods, it's well worth the trip just to browse." - ph Design Shop

My kids and I make a special trip here every so often for Kimbaps , kimchee and good quality seafood. They also have a good selection of hard to find chocolates that my kids love as their rewards treat

My husband's office is across the street from the H Mart so we frequent this place often as non-Asian people. It's always very full especially in the evening. Expect to wait in line for a while. It's a typical Asian grocery store with all the Asian amenities. They also have hot meals served. If you enter to the left most part of the building like a café/cafeteria/buffet where most of the area workers eat, Including my husband. It's a bit greasy for me, but he enjoys it because lots of cooked vegetables. The one thing I dislike about this place is that often times the vegetables are sold in bags so you cannot just use by a small quantity of ginger or a couple of tomatoes that are packaged, but I love the variety of the vegetables and the freshness of the Asian vegetables. They don't have your usual American things like cheese. But the fruits are excellent, especially the tropical fruits that you cannot find elsewhere. Bananas are a hit or miss, sometimes they have and sometimes they're all mush and black.

First time visiting H-Mart. I’ve heard so many great things about this store chain, so I was excited to check it out. It was a bit crowded and smaller than I expected. The seasoning aisle had a limited selection, which was a bit disappointing, and I couldn’t find a lot of the items I thought they would carry. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t seem to know where things were or what products the store carries. I also noticed some items were quite pricey—cheaper at places like Walmart. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I’m not sure I’d return. I did enjoy the peach ice cream. Not too sweet with a good flavor.

Wow, had to post this local gem. Haven't been to this Supermarket before today. Boy have I been missing out. Just look at these beautiful colors of its fresh produce! If you enjoy cooking like I do, H Mart puts my local HEB to shame. Prices are GREAT! So good you'd have to come see it for yourself. The best part, is the labels, tags, and such are translated for you. So if you're not familiar with an item you can easily read about it. Can't wait to return to pick up some veggies & meats for our next BBQ. If that's not enough for you, they also have a made fresh daily bakery near the front of the store. A restaurant for quick dishes near the far left back. Daily sushi trays section. But wait there's more, fresh seafood at the back of the market. (Plenty of pictures and video showing these items) H mart just won my business. Check it out if you have one near you. Until next time.

My go to grocery for tofu, seitan and SE Asian flavors. Their Kimbob is great and fairly priced. Good selection of items not found elsewhere. Check out the selection of frozen dumplings and potstickers. Packaged seaweed makes my day. And their pickled ginger and seaweed salad are staples in my house. I love this place.

Every visit to H Mart is such a great experience. The store has an incredible variety of Asian foods and products from fresh produce and seafood to snacks, sauces, and kitchen essentials. There’s always something new to discover. One of my favorite parts is the Tous Les Jours bakery inside; their pastries and coffee are always fresh and delicious. The store is clean, well-stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s easily one of the best places to shop for Asian groceries in town.

I come here often. I think the market needs to work with its staff. She was almost done for the customer in front of me, she was waiting for that customer to wait for her friend to come back to pay, but I didn't know and thought they were done so I put all my stuff up to wait for her for pay. When she saw me she ignored me and waited until me and the people behind me were confused, I asked her if this lane was closed or what, she pointed at the screen waiting to pay. You know, I finished packing all my stuff up while she took out her phone to check her eyelashes or hair or something? She didn't care about me standing there and waiting? The attitude is very contemptuous of customers and not welcoming to customers. So disappointing!

I've been coming to this place for a couple of years now and I love it! It's incredibly crowded on the weekends, so I suggest not going then. It's almost impossible to get through 😭. I love the pre-prepared food that they serve :D. I mostly go here for the yellow pickled radish. There's plenty to select! My sister got a teenieping plush. I'm pretty sure it's only one you can find in the Houston area!
