"H2 Rotisserie & Bar This craft-brew-and-comfort-food hot spot is snuggled into the Westin Bayshore, which sits on the 17-mile Seawall (the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path). Overlooking the garden and Burrard Inlet, it offers 16 local taps and roasted free-range chicken from the Fraser Valley, perfect for pairing with yam fries, grilled asparagus, and panko-crusted onion rings. While the menu relies heavily on B.C.’s superb surf and turf, it also welcomes vegetarians with dishes like kale-quinoa salad, and truffle risotto with spring peas and wild mushrooms."

Had breakfast several times at H2 Kitchen + Bar while staying at the Westin Bayshore. The buffet offered a good mix of hot and cold items: smoked salmon, charcuterie, daily noodle dishes, congee with toppings, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast or pancakes, fruit, yogurt, muesli, and local honey. Made-to-order omelets were available on some weekdays. Food was consistently fresh and well-prepared — compliments to the kitchen team. A special thanks to Lubica, whose warm, friendly service stood out each morning. Melodina and Rose also made seating quick and welcoming. A very enjoyable and well-run breakfast experience.

came here for my birthday dinner and the atmosphere was really nice and the service was also superb. my favourite dish was probably the smoked pork belly burnt ends. they were sweet, fatty chunks of pork with crispy crackling skin—i liked pairing it with the poutine. although the waffle fries and onion rings did get a bit too soggy under all the gravy. we got the meat sweats platter, and honestly it was a tad disappointing. the ribs were definitely the best part, it was super tender, juicy, and fell off the bone really easily. the bbq sauce also wasn’t too strong and overpowering, which is nice. however, i found the brisket and cornbread to be really dry. i got the white alabama sauce to pair, which had this tangy taste that added a kick to the meat, but i wouldn’t say it was the best complement. the desserts were all really great though, especially the banana pudding jar. it was super thick, had a SUPER strong banana flavour, and the cream on top had kind of a cream cheese taste? the best part were the oat cookie chunks on top that added a super nice crunch to the otherwise very soft and mushy dessert. the mud pie was also yummy and it had a really strong mocha flavour. it’s great for coffee lovers, but unfortunately i am not one of them.

We came here after being recommended and had a great experience. We came during happy hour and took advantage of the drinks and apps. The margaritas were great! We also got brisket poutine and pulled pork sliders. The poutine was soooo good and left us wanting more!

The Easter brunch buffet was fantastic. The food and service were excellent, with a wide variety of options and beautiful presentation.

The watermelon salad was refreshing and perfect for a light meal. The briquette was hearty and juicy, offering a satisfying main course. The mudpie, reminiscent of The Keg’s Billy Miner Pie but less sweet, struck an ideal balance. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The restaurant offers a range of seating options, catering both to those looking for a full dining experience and to those who prefer to relax with just a drink.

Breakfast Review: I would avoid the H2 breakfast as this hotel is too close to many other restaurants to suffer through. Our breakfast was included with the hotel stay; we recently had some lovely included breakfast buffets at The Fairmont, so we know how good a buffet can be, and now we also know how bad one can be. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant, but the food was just a huge disappointment. It could be a strategy on their part to cut costs by ensuring guests leave after the first plate? 😅Buffet eggs are hard to get right if they ever can be, but these were particularly bad. The bacon was as limp as the waffles (think soggy), and the toast was too large to fit in the toaster, so you could only toast one side. The fruit selection was pretty good, as were the oatmeal and several Asian breakfast dishes I did not try. They had a small selection of pastries, and they were just okay. Overall, we left with half-eaten plates and are opting for airport food. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Yelp
You know. Many of us have the same mind set about iconic hotel restaurants, especially those that might be in a Vancouver landmark. It happens everywhere when you are a destination..... it didn't happen here. The service was great, the food was exactly what it said it would be. There is so much going on at the street level at the Bayshore, you could almost go by and not notice. I enjoyed the southern fried chicken sandwich with great thick waffle fries on my first visit and the pulled pork mac the second time. Both dinner experiences sitting at the bar were great. My better half was at a conference the entire time and my three days there were likely far better than her time.

Yelp
Like any hotel restaurant, the ambiance is elegant & service friendly. Breakfast Food: Overall, the various dishes sound amazing on the menu but the final product is mainly a disappointment. The consistency of the dish also seems to vary between customers and between days. The hash brown potatoes were the highlight of the meals (perfectly crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside). - Fried chicken Benedict ($28): The poached egg was completely boiled solid (see second image). The gravy had no flavor. The fried chicken was tender enough. -West Coast Benedict ($26): On a different day, I decided to give the eggs benedict another try since I love eggs benedict. This time, I asked if they could please make sure the eggs were poached (which is the only style eggs should be cooked for eggs benedict). Well, they definitely didn't come out hard boiled this time. It was so undercooked that the whites were also runny, which grossed me out so I did not eat any of the eggs. Also the crushed avacado was bitter (why?). I ended up not finishing the eggs benedict at all & just ate the potatoes. - H2 bowl ($26): This was my partner's dish & he found the brisket to be very dry. I ate some of his leftovers and did enjoy the sauce covered potatoes. But like I said, the potatoes were the only reliable part of our breakfasts. - Strawberry rhubarb stuffed French toast ($23): A French toast should be crisp on the outside, custardy on the interior. The bread on this French toast was plain and soggy. The filing was basically exclusively mascarpone and nary a piece of rhubarb nor strawberry could be found. I also had no strawberry powder on mine. When I looked at a neighboring table, they had strawberry powder all over their french toast & the bread looked much more browed than mine. - 3 egg Omelette ($27): My partner ordered this dish on two separate days. On the first day, it was mostly egg, not much mushrooms or cheese. On the second day, the chef was feeling generous & there was a lot of mushroom and cheese. We chose the sourdough toast, and the accompanying butter was decadent. - We also ordered a side of sausage that ended up being $9-$10 (I can't remember which) so be careful about just randomly ordering things not on the menu

Yelp
We were staying at The Westin Bayshore and tried the breakfast buffet as well as an app and dessert. We weren't in town long and enjoyed trying food out. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of tasty options from drag fruit to smoked salmon and pastries. The spinach artichoke dip seemed to be mostly spinach, but was tasty. I can't say I recommend the wagon wheel dessert because it required teamwork to get a bite. My mom and I only had spoons, and even the table of 4 ladies next to us struggled. It seemed like a good combination of flavors, but the execution didn't land for me. The staff was very nice, but I was surprised at how many small children drowned out the music on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Wednesday night! Enough said! Ok, perhaps some context... cocktails are $8, 20% off their meat sweats, better value than almost any comparable restaurant in this city. Let me just dwell on them cocktails, half price, with twice the oomph, passion fruit margarita is a taste of 'arrival'. Caesar salad is heaping, chicken sandwich is a tower, and their fries are heavenly... oh wait, that's the cornbread too.

Yelp
Ambiance and Decor: We were seated by the large windows looking over their courtyard. Beyond that is the water and their pool. The row of 8 or so tables behind the bar is the best place to sit here. Service Quality: We came during Happy Hour and there was a convention going on, on top of that they were a bit short staffed. As a result, service that day was not the best. I've been here before and most of the time they're quite attentive. Menu Variety: We only ordered off of the Happy Hour menu. Couple cocktails on there with some basic bar food. We ordered the nachos and guac and the potato fries - great dishes to hold us over until dinner. Food Presentation: Nice presentation, simple, nothing crazy. Food Taste and Quality: Good amount of salt. Everything was made to order - it took about 15 minutes to get our food. It actually took longer to get our drinks because the only bartender went on a break when we ordered. Portion Sizes: Normal sized portions, not too big, not too small. Drink Selection: Limited cocktail selection on the happy hour menu. I had ordered the margarita - would order again. Price and Value: Can't go wrong with the happy hour menu prices. If you are here after work - definitely stop by for a quick drink and snack! Overall Experience and Recommendation: I will always come back here for happy hour. Great staples, great view, too bad they were a bit short staff the day I went recently. Hopefully the lounge will be opened up soon after the renovations.

Yelp
If you want to enjoy some good old Southern barbecue in Downtown Vancouver, H2 Kitchen + Bar is definitely a great place to be! Not only do they have live music performances, they also offer a variety of American barbecue inspired dishes. They even have different types of boards for sharing. I got the "Date Night Meat Sweats" boards; which included: 1/2lb smoked CAB brisket 1/2 lb pulled pork half a rack of St. Louis ribs cornbread, house pickles, choice of sauce & 2 sides Before our entree arrived, we ordered 3 drinks. If you enjoy Gin, then you might like Gin in the Garden. It has a good balance between the alchemy and the additional mixers. On the other had if you don't enjoy alcohol, Tropical Cyclone would be my recommendation. The fruity flavor was bright and the drink was not overly sweet. For our 2 sides we got the waffle fries and market vegetables. Overall I really enjoyed the platter. I think the meat was pretty good and I was surprised by the amount of meat of the rib. The highlight was the beef brisket, it was juicy, flavorful and tender. The implication serving size for this board is meant for 2 people, but for me I think you can share this with 3 people. Pro tip you can get 20% off this board on every Wednesday! They also have daily deals so make sure you keep an eye out! I'll definitely be coming back, and next time I want to try their fried chicken!

Yelp
We had the best time here for a special distillery dinner. 5 course paired with special scotch tasting. The food was nicely paired with each scotch tasting and the chef explained very dish presented. The scotch ambassador was extremely knowledgeable of the producers and scotch varieties. It was educational evening as well. We even received a small gift- scotch drinking glass and leather key chain from the ambassador. Service from the restaurant was top notch all evening. The distillery dinner is a new initiative for the restaurant/hotel and they plan to do these probably monthly so we will definitely be back. The value for this dinner is excellent too at $65pp plus tax and gratuity.

Yelp
I had dinner resos at 8:30 pm...flew in at 6 pm...needless to say I was STARVING! Staying g at the Westin Bayshore, I decided to stop into H2 for a quick nosh. 'Priming' myself for dinner. I wanted to have a salad, a glass of wine, and sweet potato fries out of the way so I could concentrate on ordering a steak later at a restaurant where I was meeting my friends for dinner at 8:30! I ordered the Caesar to start, it was really good! The creamy garlic dressing with bacon sprinkles was amazing. It's probably one of the best Caesar dressings I've ever tasted. I saw someone ordered sweet potato fries, so I asked if I could have a smaller portion. They came perfectly crispy, and the dipping sauce was amazing! Almost like a cumin-based ketchup. Very "taco-y". Very small bite at the end, but super delicious paired with the sweet potato fries. Never would have thought that would be a good flavor with them. Normally I always get ranch dressing served with sweet potato fries. This was by far the best dip I've had with sweet potato fries! This is a nice little restaurant for a hotel! I was pleasantly surprised. It was super busy so I sat at the bar and enjoyed top-notch service from Yong & Raymond. They were friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. I was able to eat in peace yet they made sure to check in on me every few minutes. I really enjoy this restaurant. If I didn't already have plans for the rest of the week with colleagues, I would come here to eat again. Maybe I'll sneak in a drink and a snack between conference sessions lol. I highly recommend if you are staying in this hotel, to check out H2. It is far better than you would imagine for a hotel restaurant. It has a great view out in their back courtyard, the service is friendly, and the food is excellent!

Yelp
As a rule, I stay away from hotel restaurants and breakfasts. Free and convenience should not equate to poor quality. This place has made me rethink this. The poutine was outstanding, the waffle fries (best I've ever had), the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was no joke (hot with taste, not hot with pain), the Mac and cheese was kid approved as "the cheesiest Mac and cheese I've ever had), and the nachos were made with purpose giving huge amts of salsa, guac, and sour cream on the sides in bowls. I can't speak to the bbq. Also, they offer a lager that might be the most flavorful lager profile I have ever tasted. It's called the Phillips Tilt Lager. Sit outside at the fire table, a great environment.

Yelp
ok! I was very nervous about the ordering from here because of the reviews! After researching a lot of the reviews were from 5-6 years ago! I am so glad we ordered from here after a long day of site seeing! The hostess took our Togo order and was so kind and fast. My mom and I ordered the rotisserie chicken, cornbread, Mac and cheese and veggies! Everything was so good! I am impressed!

Yelp
Avocado Toast was delicious. Everything I've had there has been really well made and is visually appealing. My only complaint about this place is the service tends to be kind of slow.

Yelp
Foods soggy and dry from being in steam plates. Nothing special for 45$!! 20$ ceaser in a can. Ya, maybe skip it. Staff super unknowable

Yelp
Went for breakfast this morning and had the buffet . Simple selection but hit all marks on great choices . I always love a buffet with simple scrambled eggs and delicious (NOT DEEP FRIED ) bacon and this place had both . Didn't really enjoy the sausage as they were a bit hard in texture. Service was excellent! Our server went above and beyond to make sure I had the cutest little mini jar of peanut butter and took the time to suggest where to go for fun ! I like the way the tables are placed to make it very casual so it has a very relaxing atmosphere! I recommend this place for sure !

Yelp
Food and service was really great. Had their breakfast buffet on a Sunday. The green tropical Kale juice was amazing!!! Honestly the best green juice I've ever had. Of course they have the basic bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes, eggs Benedicts, but the most amazing thing was the fresh omelet bar. I got "the works" for my omelet, made by a chef. Yum!! There was quite a bit of a wait since they were pretty busy. I'd recommend getting there a bit earlier.

Yelp
Staying at the Westin Bayshore (where H2 is located) gave us food & beverage certificates for their "go green" program, which is 5$ for each day you decline housekeeping. We came on a night where it was really quiet, so we were seated right away. It's a big dark space, nicely lit up. I wasn't particularly inspired by the drink menu. I opted for the espresso martini, which was like drinking cold coffee with milk -minus the sugar. Let's just say-Not my cup of tea .... Next round I stuck with lemon water. For food I had the chicken tacos, and JC had the burger. I guess I had low expectations, but the tacos were AMAZING! The difference was rotisserie chicken was used. And quite the difference it made. The bite of burger didn't impress me. Normally, we would split both items, but I kept the tacos to myself ! So the bill comes - (and this is where they lost a star) When you check in on Yelp, it gives you a 10% off coupon. So, I show the server, and she has no clue how to process it. A supervisor was called, and he too is stumped. They think that there should be a code that Yelp provides on said coupon. No - there isn't. So they go back and forth on what to do. They look at me like I should know how to process it. No - I don't. Finally my husband suggests they just put it through as a- wait for it ...10 % off discount in the machine. Ya .. somehow ( after 10-15m after we requested the bill ...) it worked ! Yea! We paid and finally on our way . So due to the high menu prices & lack of cocktail selection, other then those tacos I wouldn't be back unless I was staying there and used the grab and go menu to bring back to the room.

Yelp
Tried their brunch buffet. So beautiful. Parking is rather nonexistent around here. Either pay through the nose in the Westin paid lot, or take a nice long stroll. The restaurant is split into an indoor portion and a very large outdoor patio. As it was could out there, my friend and I opted for the indoor seating. The ambience is very classy and bright, with the large bay windows and wooden trim. The outside is a large patio with outdoor fireplaces and even gazebo style seating. The brunch buffet is truly beautiful. 2 complete tables completely filled with food. I was ready to cry. The food stations looked like something out of a magazine. The experience was overwhelming. They had the traditional breakfast items (bacon, eggs Benedict etc.), salad, Chinese food (dim sum and congee), and even Mexican food items (tortilla and salsa). Then there were the nice sugary pastries, smoked and candied salmon, a wide fruit selection, and even a rotisserie chicken station. Before I knew it, I was ready to explode. Service was impeccable. Overall one of the better classy buffet experiences in the city. Recommended.

Nikhiel G.

Yelp
Overall this was a very nice hotel and restaurant, however the service was not on par, my little girl was starving and was dying to order her food but was ignored by our server several times. We really enjoy the location of the property and the property in general and we will be back hoping the service has improved.

Yelp
Came here because of a rave review from our neighbour and we wanted to take advantage of the last few weeks of patio weather left. First off, dining ambiance was very relaxing outside with the intermittent live music and patio lamps. *warning* - one of these things made me quite sick shortly after so I'm trying hard to review based on flavors and tastes from what I can remember. Seafood Chowder - appetizer size so it was quite "small". One mussel, one prawn, half a chopped scallop scattered in a bowl of warm cream with some potato pieces. Definitely left something to be desired Farm & Field Risotto - this risotto had so much mushroom! Totally fine with me since I'm a big fan of the stuff but my partner thought it could have had more Quarter Rotisserie with yam fries & steamed veggies - this was ok but pricey in my opinion for what you get. Should have ordered the half and took home leftovers. Sides were nothing special unfortunately. Salted Caramel Popcorn Cheesecake. Decent Cheesecake with a large cluster clump of salted caramel popcorn. Nice balance of sweet and salty.

Yelp
I am not sure why hotel resturants have a bad rep, because I ate at one in Miami and it was seriously one of the best fried chickens I have ever eaten. My husband didn't seem too excited about going here but we were tired and our room was upstairs so we could collapse afterwards. Our waitress was great and stayed on top of us and made sure we were taken care of. I got the chicken and it was great very moist and the roasted brussel sprouts didn't last long either. I would have eaten here the two nights we were here and sorry we didn't eat here last year when we stayed at the Westin.

Yelp
Came to grab a quick bite after a meeting. I've visited this spot a few times but never got a chance to give it a review. Here is what we ordered 2 grilled cheese and tomato bisque combo 1 beef dip combo 1 chicken salad 1 tomato bisque 1 fish and chips I took 1 star away because of the beef dip. We should have sent it back but we never did. Service was great. Minus at the extra help that took our plates away and threw my left over of fish and chips. But they made me a fresh one for the mistake thank you. You just forgot the tartar sauce and lemon so when I got home it wasn't as enjoyable as it was in the resto, but whatever first world problems right The grilled cheese was made with goat cheese! Yummmm and tomato soup was good! Reminded me of the Burgoo one we always get. My gf said the salad was good... I mean to be honest salad is well.... salad lol Fish and chips had a good crispy batter fries were fried and seasoned well. It was thick cut and it was actually really good that I'd order fries it's self like how I order super size fries alone at McDonald's sometimes with a side of tartar sauce .. but off topic lol Price : Wasn't to bad! The bill was about $125 ish Service : 5/5 Ambiance : a beautiful view of the water but they need to chill with the ac! Other than that not a bad place to go if your around the area.

Yelp
Had reservations for family brunch showed up 15 min early but didn't actually get our table for 30 min. Generally the service was very average. Had to ask for a high chair 3 times and when the food arrived 1 of the plates were actually forgotten and had to be placed on rush order. I could actually tell that the avocado toast was rushed since the bread wasn't toasted. I am not sure if it was the server or kitchen to be at fault. The outside ambience is really nice and the live music is a nice touch. But I will say that overall experience was very average, nothing spectacular.

Yelp
We are here last night for convenience as we are staying at the hotel. Food is marginal at best. I ordered the harvest salad. There were four small squares of butternut squash, all raw, no kale and about 6 toasted seeds. Mostly a pile of greens from a box. Side of veg was some deep fried carrots and Brussels sprouts. Edible but cold. Hubby had Mac and cheese. Passable but nothing special. If convenience is all you care about, it's fine. If you want a good meal, pass on this place.

Yelp
Happy hour review only. Stopped in for a quick happy hour while at a conference at the Westin. I was surprised by how small the happy menu was, as I really was hoping for more. Red and white house wine for $7. Dessert Hills Cactus Merlot Cabernet blend was my pick. It was just okay. I also tried their red pepper and artichoke dip. This was a tasty snack for $5 and was accompanied by pita bread and black nacho chips. I ended up ordering a much nicer wine, a Bordeaux from Skaha, but it cost me $18 for a 6 ounce glass :[ Very nice wine though. I enjoyed the patio set up at the Westin Bayshore H2, it's quite nice to sit on the patio with a glass of wine and take in the scenery. I might come here for dinner sometime.

Yelp
H2 New Year's Eve buffet dinner. I was looking forward to this all week, I even studied the menu to make sure I knew what I wanted. When making the reservations I asked if non alcoholic beverages were included and they said no? Apparently the Sunday brunch at half the price includes grapefruit juice, coffee and tea. I called back to speak to the manager and he said he would call me back on that. He NEVER ever did. A few days before the reservation a girl called to confirmed, I confirmed and inquired about the non alcoholic beverages, she apologized that the manager did not call me back and said she will call me back. She NEVER ever did. I was so looking forward to the Alaskan crab which is really snow crab, and the Dungeness crab. Snow crab 1.5/5 Was salty with hardly any meat and for some reason the meat stuck to the shell which was very hard to take out. There was no Dungeness crab to be found ? They gave a really sad excuse and said they do not have it ? False advertisement! If they could not get it they should have substituted it for something else comparable. By not serving Dungeness crab it would have saved them thousands of dollars which did not come off the $95.00 advertised with the Dungeness crab on the menu. Herb crusted Lamb 2/5 The taste of the lamb was good and it was tender, the problem was that even in the hot box the fat congealed...meaning the fat instead of being juicy and glistening it was hard all the fat in the lamb which if quite a bit was white and hard....difficult to bite into and not appetizing. Prime rib Roast beef 1/5 Was the saltiest piece of prime "rib" I have ever had in my life. They should be embarrassed to serve it. Very very disappointing. Mussels 2/5 Nice and plump but were undercooked for my taste. Clams 1/5 Very tiny and did not taste fresh. Lobster bisque 1/5 One good thing about this...,it was the only hot item I ate this evening. The taste was not there, I had lobster bisque many times and this does not measure up not even close. I was shocked at the salad station, it just did not stand up to what a salad station should be, where are the cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery???? Instead they had things in cups, bowls of diced red/green peppers, zucchini cubes, squash etc ? I was sad and confused. Peking duck 0/5 I'm Chinese so when you say "Peking duck" I expect crispy juicy duck.....nope they cut duck in pieces and put it in a hot box steaming? I didn't even try because I was expecting crispy skin. I literally can go on and on with every single food item they put out, but that would be redundant.......you get the gist. Oops just one more..... Pistachio creme brûlée 1/5 It was the only dessert I was looking forward to. There was none there? Told the manger and she said it will be there soon. I went up again...nothing ? Told the hostesses to find the manager and have her come to my table. Came back to my table and there was 3 tiny mini pastry's which turned out to be pastry encrusted Mini creme brûlées. Silly me I was actually looking for ramekins of creme brûlée. Manager NEVER did come back, even though I asked the hostess to find her. Oops so Sorry I forgot one more .... Shrimp/veggie tempera -50/5 yes NEGETIVE !!! Soggy over battered veggies and shrimp. I was expecting crispy hot fried shrimp, what I got was a cold disgusting soggy mess. Shame on you, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME...,shaking my head as I write this ....Shame I had a choice to go here or Le Crocodile, H2 had more variety, where as Le Crocidile had a set menu of 3-4 courses. I thought the quality at H2 would be up to par with all the reviews I read on yelp but I was wrong. There was no care put into the food, it just seemed like it was massed produced. If I went to Le Crocodile each dish would have been hand crafted and prepared to perfection as they always do, quality over quaintly. I sorrily regret coming here, I will learn from my mistake. It definitely was not worth the almost $450 I spent on 4 adults. Not one person ask how our meal was or I would have told them. On the way out I made sure the hostesses knew how disappointed I was. All she said was sorry over and over again. River Rock casino Seafood buffet in Richmond is better than this, and that's not saying much, they are better in terms of quality of seafood and prime rib, better value at $45 pp. no tip required......AND...it's a big AND.....they have Dungeness crab ALL the time with no excuses. The salad bar at the river rock puts H2 to SHAME. SHAME on you H2 ! Just a note... All 4 of us were dying of thirst when we came home we all had at least 3-4 cups of water each. I do not know what H2 puts in their food to make all of us so extremely thirsty. Good quality food does not require food enhancing additives that cause extreme thirst. Again SHAME! I literally deleted 1/2 my review, it was too long...I had so much more to say.

Yelp
Using gift certificate from Yelp! Elite party, my friend and I had weekend brunch buffet. We were supposed to have just lunch first but we got the suggestion when we booked a table, changed mind to buffet! Thank you for your help, Danielle! We arrived at 1pm on Saturday and they reserved window side table. It was so lovely to have buffet listening live music. Okay about food, there were hit and miss. Hit: Smoked salmon, candied salmon, dim sum, salad with variety kinda of seeds and nuts. Rotisserie chicken(of course!) Miss: egg benedict (inside york was perfect but Hollandaise sauce and English muffin were completely dried.) Prawn dumpling from Dim Sum(dried again) Sachertorte (too sweet even my job is chocolate tester) My thought: As it was cold day, I wish I had warm soup. If I missed it, sorry. And I wished there was one more dessert. Only two kinds of cake was a little disappoint. Over all, my friend and I were satisfied honestly. It's clean, modern, bright restaurant but I felt cozy always. I want to come back again for special occasion.

Yelp
Disclosure: I had a complimentary $50 gift card provided to me from a Yelp event. We went on a Saturday evening and we ended up being there for around 2 hours total. There was live music in the restaurant and they switched up the artists during the time I was there. While the Westin Bayshore is an older building, the lobby and restaurant area is part of a modern part of the building. We got a seat facing the hotel courtyard, North Shore mountains, and the marina. Ambiance in the restaurant was nice and definitely appropriate for date nights. When you're working at a restaurant, you're expected to be on top of your product knowledge. Our server didn't seem to know much about the dishes that we were being served. Giving the benefit of a doubt, I'll just assume that she was new to the job and had not yet become accustomed to the menu. For example, apparently the Yelp members returning to the restaurant are given a complimentary Salmon Tartare, but this was not communicated to me when the dish came and I had no clue what the dish was because she didn't tell me what dish it was. It would have been nice if she said what the dish was and why I was receiving it. My partner ordered the West Van Sour as an alcoholic beverage, which included a splash of kombucha. It was fruity and refreshing. It had hearts drawn on the top of the drink along with gold flakes. So kudos for presentation. We ended up having three appetizers between both of us: The Salmon Tartare, Grilled Okanagan Peach Salad, and the West Coast Crab Cake. The Salmon on the Salmon Tartare was fresh and refreshing. The Grilled Okanagan Peach Salad's peaches were flavourful and as it was grilled, it gave a different and distinct flavour. The salad's greens and kale were organic so it didn't have the chemical taste that is normally present in non-organic salads, which allowed a better appreciation of the salad. We appreciated the Marscapone on the salad as well as it gave the salad another dynamic. The West Coast Crab Cake stood out with the lemon flavour and it was enjoyable.. I had ordered the three course meal, which comes with a Pan Seared Pacific Sea Bass. My partner had the Rotisserie Chicken (Half). The sea bass was soft, tender, and crispy where it had been seared. The Yam puree was sweet and light. As for the chicken, it was tender and clean in its taste. The chicken did not leave a greasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. The potatoes that came with the chicken were small so they were flavourful with the skin. The half-size portion is definitely filling. As for the Blackberry and Thyme Shortcake that was supposed to come with my three course meal, unfortunately, they ran out. We ended up getting it substituted for the Dessert Platter. It was nice to be able to try out so many desserts, but we really would have had liked to try the shortcake instead.. Overall, the food was good but the service was lacking in product knowledge as indicated before. In terms of the quality of the food, I would definitely give this restaurant a solid four stars. This restaurant is definitely appropriate for birthday parties or date nights. I would definitely come back here for the food again.

Yelp
The food is excellent here! We have come for breakfast and dinner and always it's delicious. The staff is so friendly and kind too! They were so patient with our five kiddos every time we dined there. Isabella and Julianna gave us EXCELLENT service!! Highly recommend coming here for breakfast. The eggs Benedict and the chicken hash is so good. My kids love their French toast so much too. We will for sure be back next time we are in town!

Yelp
My husband and I arrived from Minnesota Sunday and decided to get a bite to eat while we waited for our room. That was going to be our first meal in Canada so we were very excited to order. We ordered the Pickle Brined Chicken Wings and Truffle Fries. After waiting for at least 30 minutes, someone comes and brings us a packed to-go order and apologizes for the wait. We tell her we didn't order anything to go. Another gentleman asks if we'd like drinks and we reply no; after a long day flying, we'd just like our meal. We notice a nearby table that came well after us already has the wings we also ordered. We call over our server to see what is going on. Finally we receive our wings which by this time are barely warm. Shortly after our fries come out. The server apologies and says the meal is on the house. First impressions of the staff is that the sections aren't divided appropriately for them to adequately care for their area properly. We came back Monday morning to give them another try. This time we both ordered the Classic Old Faithful. I specifically asked for my eggs to be hard scrambled. The eggs came a bit runny. So I sent them back. After inquiring about a discount card I asked for boxes to take my remaining food. I waited as my waitress spoke with her manager and was told I needed to grab the card from my room. This wasn't a problem, but I waited about ten minutes to be told this and still hadn't received my to-go boxes; it was a little frustrating, especially when I see my waitress walking past me multiple times and not even acknowledging that I'm still waiting for boxes and a response. Training is lacking and doesn't measure up to the standards I would hope a hotel with the Westin's reputation would have. The only reason the rating wasn't lower is that the meals were very tasty, but when service isn't up to par, the experience is diminished.

Yelp
I was here a little while back for their luau brunch buffet. Honestly, the food was pretty bland, and some of it was kinda of borderline inedible. The açaí bowl was super watery and gross, the beyond meatball was terrible, and the corn was dry. The chicken and ribs were passable, so all i had at the buffet were like five plates of those as there wasn't any selection at all. There wasn't really anything worth mentioning about the desserts as they were just meh. The only exception was the opera cake, which was pretty great, and so i had five of them because all the other ones were overly sweet and were otherwise flavourless. I was very disappointed as this was my first buffet in Vancouver and it did not meet my already low expectations considering I'm from Hong Kong where the buffets are to die for.

Yelp
This place was extremely delicious, came here multiple times during my stay at the Westin. They have the best olive bread, it has got to be some of the best bread and butter I've ever tasted. And the larger thick cut French fries were freaking amazing. We got the the rotisserie meal one time and it was alright. Chicken was very bland, it didn't have much flavor at all. The roll that it came with was pretty gross. Coleslaw was very Asiany but delicious. Fries were amazing. One thing we noticed was the advertisement for the place looked very delicious, the biscuit they had in the flyer wasn't the same they gave you. They gave us some bland stale roll. It was very gross lol The second time we came we asked if they could make us chicken tenders and they are able to. They were frozen I believe but much better than the rotisserie chicken in our opinion. The food is good but the service was amazing. Drinks were delicious as well. Really want to try their dessert next time we come it looked delicious.

Yelp
Food is excellent especially the Chicken Wing appie and the Kombucha or elderflower Lemonade. Shanna was amazing in remembering what I liked to drink (as I visited several times) and she was fabulous in making suggestions for my guests for food and drink. Great sense of humor and fantastic service. The food is almost as good as Shanna! ....almost!! Highly recommend her and the restaurant. Will be back.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Chicken Taco. I don't normally like the soft shell kind, but it was amazing from the first bite to the last. I was served two, full sized tacos filled with flavorful chicken (not deep fried, thank goodness ) and salsa. The tacos are served with H2's sea salt fries (ranch cut, not overly salted) Another couple who were dining near us complimented the chef as well. Earlier in the afternoon, I ordered their Navajo Fried Bread with black beans. It was also a very satisfying. Tasty, warm and well plated In both visits, the staff at H2 were attentive, cheerful and professional. Good job Westin Bayshore. Keep it up.

Yelp
Brought my Mom, Dad and Husband here for Mother's Day and it was just about the most amazing brunch spread I've ever seen. Seriously, the cheese table alone was worth the price of admission. My parents had recently enjoyed 'The Champagne Brunch' on the Queen Mary in California and were excited to impart to our waiter that this one was even better. We had a super-sweet waiter who joked with my folks and popped up anytime a plate needed disappearing or mimosas refilling. (Thanks Eric - you were a champ!) My favourite bit - the impressive dessert spread with a variety of 'small portion' treats, peppered with chocolates and truffles from Chocolate Arts. Location was a treat too, started my parents out with a scenic walk around the seawall while we waited for our reservation time. The place has huge windows and natural light, so great for brunch. Looking forward to going back for dinner and beers! (Minus the parents.)

Yelp
We had the best meal and service here for our wedding anniversary. They made us feel so special from the moment we arrived and our server was so helpful and friendly with his recommendations. The meat was tender, well flavored and we loved the side options with the Meat Sweats for 2. We had no idea there was even live music on Fridays and sitting outside under patio lights with a band made for the perfect date night. The tap list here is awesome for local beers and I appreciate that they also had a variety of non alcoholic options as my partner doesn't drink. The manager even came over to ensure we were having a great experience and to acknowledge our anniversary, plus they gave us a free dessert. Would come back here in a heartbeat for quality barbecue, a beautiful setting and five star service

Yelp
Staying at the Westin and came for a quiet breakfast to recover from flight. Incredibly poor service. Especially the hostess who gave me the worst possible table. High traffic area next to the breakfast buffet. Mediocre menu options. In my opinion not worth the price.

Yelp
H2 is located inside the hotel and it looks like they change their cocktail menu frequently. A theatrical cocktail I saw earlier this year was no longer on the menu when I came so that was a bit disappointing. Also the hostess was not around at noon (what's with hostesses not being around for lunch hour? this is the second time that has happened to me this month; not at the same restaurant though). Our server was very delightful and had a smile on her face but I felt rushed to put in my order and pay the bill. It also looks like they don't serve their brunch menu on holidays; just the weekends. The food was surprisingly good. - Rotisserie Chicken (4/5): We got half a chicken and it comes with fries, gravy and ketchup. The chicken was flavourful and juicy. I'm not a huge fries person but their fries are one of the best I've had and I don't mind having more. It was too well-seasoned and didn't require any sauce to go with it. - Steak (4/5): This time I got my steak medium and it was cooked to my liking. The steak was nice and tender. The chimichurri sauce on the side went really well with the cut. It also came with fries. Yay! -Beetroot and blackberry juice (3/5): I thought this was ok. I've had better. Considering that no appies were ordered, it was an expensive lunch. I wouldn't mind coming back for dinner.

Yelp
Came here a little over a month ago for their brunch buffet to celebrate father's day. The price of their brunch buffet is really good at $35 and $39 on father's day - comparable to several of the brunch buffets out there that go at $50 and up. And the bonus is coffee and juice are also included! The decor of the restaurant was very nice and modern and bright. They even have outdoor seatings and music on that day. The was a fair amount of buffet food selections (not a lot but I think it is really fair for the price they offer). They had a salad bar where you build your own salad, a charcuterie section with cheese, meats, salmon, and honey fresh from the honeycomb - this was really neat to see and try! The meat selection included prime rib and chicken and there was a mini cart that had a selection of dim sums too! This was really great especially for those who enjoys some dim sum for their breakfast! Along from the regular breakfast items like egg, sausage, and waffles they also add a little more international flair with having chilli there as well. And of course we can't forget about the dessert station! It was presented really beautifully in a large three tier tray with with a good amount of cake selection, and along side was a candy station and fruits. Really glad I came here for the celebration and the family were really full and happy by the end of the meal!

Yelp
Tried the chicken tacos on a previous review for this restaurant. Lots of chicken in each medium flour tortilla but no greens at all. Too much smoke and fake spice added to the chicken. Tortillas were stuffed so full they were very difficult to eat, and they arrived nearly cold to my colleague and I. That's two cold chicken taco orders The staff a professional and considerate. We might try a vegetarian option tomorrow night as we left craving greens and water. A nice rock is that the restaurant provides blankets on the patio. Inside is mainly men watching sports.

Yelp
Just got off the plane...have not slept and starving. My wife and I arrived at the hotel and noticed this neat little bar. I was worried the food wouldn't be good and very small portions. I was wrong! The food was damn good! I had the burger and my wife a chicken dish. The food came out hot, flavorful And juicy. This place is on the pricey but worth it! The waiting staff is good as well!

Yelp
H2 Rotisserie and Grill is not only a nice venue, but has various different spaces, including a large outdoor space. That in itself earns them extra credit for ambiance. They are a restaurant in a hotel and as is typical, price is higher just for that reason without necessarily being justified by what you get. Overall its fine dining quality food, service, and presentation; but not adventurous quality with rarely seen or unrecognizable ingredients. Expect an instagram presentation but feel lucky if something here wows you taste-wise. Full review and pictures at my blog because it's really quite long and won't fit here. Also, they got intel I was a Yelper so I got busted right away as someone who will definitely review them on Yelp. Read all the gory details at http://lower-mainland-bc.blogspot.ca/2017/09/busted-at-h2-rotisserie.html . Here are some highlights: Water Yeah, I'm gonna talk about the water because the upsell started right away with a closed-option question of whether you wanted sparkling water or filtered/Tableau (?) water. For a lot of people it's uncomfortable asking outside the box for normal / tap water. Beef Carpaccio ($12) -If they ask if you want cracked black pepper on it, say NO. Otherwise you're just going to smell and taste freshly cracked black pepper. Even a little bit can go a long way. Just say no. We made this mistake. Huge mistake. If you're not here to taste the beef clearly, why are you even ordering this? -There was truffle oil? Crab Cake ($16) -Single largish cake for $16. A fancy gourmet burger can cost you that much in this city, so I don't know if I can really criticize price for portion here. -Just not crabby-tasting enough. Heck, I got silence when I polled our table about crab flavour. For a crab cake, that is not a good sign. And if you use the mayo (which is decent tasting) you are basically obliterating any chance of tasting crab. Rotisserie Chicken ($26 half chicken) -There's a lot of chicken / white meat here to slog through if you are trying to solo a half-chicken. At the same time, the quarter chicken just isn't good value when for $6 more you can get such a large portion. You might want to immediately ask for the half to be cut further in half and pack a portion to go. -As a main for TWO persons, this is a great choice at H2, and works out to $13 per person, which puts it at one of the better values on the menu as far as mains go. -You get the choice of two sides. You WANT the panko crusted onion rings. Sweet onion. Crust is thin and stays very crunchy for a long time. We're talking actual crunch sound crunchy. Crust isn't falling off the onion and looking sloppy. Whatever they are doing to those onions in the kitchen, they're doing it right. And them rings are BIG and fun! -You do NOT want the steamed veggies. It's boring. The carrots there aren't honey-glazed either, which are the fun and tasty ones and if they did them right, will not be crunchy and raw-ish but fairly tender. -Check the bun before eating it. We were in for dinner so I guess you can expect end-of-the-day buns. These were end-of-the-day buns. Firm outside, dry inside. Just pass on them. If they can't give you a fresh bun, I'd have preferred they didn't give me a bun at all. And with a half chicken you have so much breast meat to work through you don't need the bun filling you up anyway. -If you compare their rotisserie chicken to the super-moist super-tender possibly-undercooked supermarket chickens for around $10 or under, you will be super-disappointed and you shouldn't order this. -Dark meat portion not juicy at all and disappointing. Yeah, even the thigh. Meat basically fell off the bone though, which is convenient if you are not using your hands. It's nice to look at a half chicken instead of chopped up bits, but if it means the dark meat's gonna be sacrificed, I'd rather they hacked the bird into quarters and tended each separately according to the type of protein there. -Breast meat NOT dry! Didn't need gravy or water to eat a good bite of this. Not exactly juicy definitely not dry. S'mores -This critique is not specific to H2 Rotisserie: Overall, I do not recommend ordering s'mores anywhere for a bring-to-your-table dessert. By the time it gets there, your marshmallow will probably have started to harden again. It is not clear if ours had done so or just wasn't toasted enough to be melted on the inside; in any case, when I pressed the s'mores together it sprang back almost fully. There's also way too much cracker, making it dry in your mouth. -Recommend you eat this open-face: Open up the s'mores and have one marshmallow on each piece of cracker, and eat the halves separately. In this way you are also minimizing your chances of chocolate dripping where you don't want it.

Yelp
I had a great experience at the restaurant and the other comments below are obviously aimed at damaging this superb new venue. I had avocado toast and it's the best one I ever had. Everything was right about it, presentation, taste and price. I also hung out on the patio and enjoyed basking in the sun sipping on a Moscow Mule, the bartenders know what they're doing! These crappy comments are inaccurate and ridiculous. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
We had a wonderful family meal celebrating New Year's eve a day early. Our hope was to try a few different things from the menu and enjoy some roast meats and drinks. The signature sablefish was flaky and delicious. The whole roast chicken comes with two generous sides to choose from either three yummy potatoe variations or roast carrots or Brussel Sprouts. You can add a side for $6. We also tried the fish and chips which came with homemade coleslaw and two pieces of fish. The burgers also looked amazing stacked high with toppings served with truffle fries. We each decided to try drinks on tap. The cider was a refreshing fruity perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The porter beer had nice caramel notes. The Mexican Lager was light and an excellent choice with the heavier stout. The best part was having Chef 'Caitlin' come and chat with us about our meal and desserts. We indulged in the signature caramel Toffee cake, cheesecake and ice cream. Couldn't have asked for a yummier finish to the meal and launch to 2018. We hope to next visit to sample the weekend brunch.

Yelp
Service - hit or miss. Nice guy but had to ask others for steak knife. With the prices charged for steak here, you'd think they would pay attention. Plate change from appy to main came after main arrived. Had to ask for gravy for chicken twice. Food - not bad. Chicken dry. Dont know if being brined or just overcooked. Steak - asked for med-rare came out basically well done. Still tasted good and tender. If cooked properly, probably would of been amazing.

Yelp
Excellent Service, Excellent food. I came in tonight for a relaxing dinner before bed. I ended up ordering some starters. I started with the squash soup and ended with the Bake Brie! Amazing! I took off on star because of the decor. The open book cases are distracting. On the other side of the bookcases is 2 large tv screens showing sports but you can't really watch them or not watch them easily because of these open bookshelves! The large backed sofa was a more relaxed feel but the TV's took away for the peacefulness. Ending the review on a positive note though, I ordered the local Malbec off the menu and it was probably the best one I've ever had. So good! So yummy! Again starters and service were excellent!

Yelp
The reviews were going to keep me from coming but after we got there the service by Shanna kept us there for hours. I think 4 hours total and we had a great time. They had a good beer list and plenty of selection. I was disappointed by the Beachside fire and coke professional photo listed on this site. I am a beer guy but that photo looked great so I ordered one. It did not look like the photo at all. I am posting a photo of what it really looks like. But the food was very good. The seafood chowder was tasty, and the seafood dinner was flavorful. Overall we had a great time and came back a few times on our trip. We asked for Shanna because her service was the best.

Yelp
We did the Luau brunch at $40 per person after seeing it advertised on social media. Started with a mai tai that wasn't good .. I think due to the Bacardi rum? The food was okay. The pork Benny and chicken were good. The mahi mahi was very dry. The warm fruit smoothie punch was warm and not good. The dessert was terrible. Cheap stale cupcakes and some form of Hawaiian sweet jellies. It could have been so much better with fresh tropical fruit offerings and ice cream. Did not see the açai bowls anywhere. The buffet at a casino for$20 is much better. The music was okay. It was better when it was acoustic and no vocals. We initially sat outside but they have both the radio and the live music playing at the same time which didn't sound good. I was treating my brother and his two kids for his birthday. For the kids who are 15 and 18, it was definitely not a good value. The service was not what it should be; they did not come around until we finished our meals to give water and coffee refills. Overall, a expensive and disappointing experience for everyone that set us back $300 for 6 of us that would have been $150 anywhere else with better food. I'm pretty upset about spending that much for that experience. Would not recommend unless they improve the food, service, and music. However the actual hotel has a really nice ambience.. it's too bad because this had the potential to be so much more.

Yelp
Convenient. If you are already at the Bayshore Hotel. Quick - if you want a good buffet for your weekend brunch. Tasty - if you want a variety of buffet foods that you don't normally see at weekend brunch buffets. Live music while we were there - nice touch. If you want a cozy booth to stare longingly into your partners eyes while you contemplate the end of a great weekend - nope. It's just not that place. The atmosphere is one of a resort main dining room where churn is the overriding factor. The $35 Brunch buffet is worth it (comparing to others of similar price points), but unless I was staying here already (which we were) I would not go out of my way to make it down. Good food, not great, good atmosphere, not great, ok service, not great. All in all, they earned my 3 stars today, but not more.
