My advice—if you’re wondering whether to go rafting with H2O, go ahead and book your tickets. As a wonderful local river company, they deliver big and know how to create a great experience. I went with our team of 90 for a company retreat, and they handled it all without breaking a sweat. Nothing felt rushed or chaotic — just a fun, well-organized day on the water. Everyone walked away smiling and a little sunburned, with stories to tell. Make sure you ask for Ann if you want a historic float — she’ll have a tale for every bend in the river. Our entire group felt taken care of from start to finish. One of the highlights was Blake—somehow guiding us through rapids while singing like he was born on the river. Somehow, they made it feel personal, even with such a big group. Easily one of the best group outings we’ve ever done — we’d do it again in a heartbeat.

This trip was amazing! I was impressed by the organization and efficiency of the operation. Not a second was wasted. The rafting was fantastic, with a great mix of leisure floating and nature viewing, and adrenaline pumping adventure! I never felt unsafe and really appreciated our guide passion, knowledge and guidance. I would 100% do this again. Highly recommend. (This is from a first timer who was slightly scared going into it.) We did a half day trip for a family reunion and had a BLAST! Our youngest was 5 and oldest 78 and we all enjoyed it so much. There was plenty of thrill for all of us, and not too much. We all loved the opportunity to paddle and participate. The guides were amazing (shout out to Marine Dog and James!) and we felt safe and entertained. The water was not as cold as expected and this was great because we were doused thoroughly and joyfully. Would definitely recommend this company and this trip.

Our team at Express Sewer and Drain just finished our second trip with H2O Adventures, and once again, they blew us away! This was another unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the day was perfectly organized, full of excitement, and a great bonding experience for our team. Huge shoutout to our guides, Pierce and Blake — absolute legends on the river! Their energy, professionalism, and deep knowledge made everyone feel safe, confident, and ready for adventure. They struck the perfect balance between fun and safety — whether we were riding the bull, surfing, cliff jumping, or getting pulled back in after a rapid knocked us out of the boat, they kept our whole crew laughing and engaged the entire time. If you're planning a team outing or just looking for an incredible day on the river, we can't recommend H2O Adventures enough. This is our second time rafting with them, and it definitely won't be our last!

We had the best day rafting the Middle Fork of the American River with H2O Adventures! From start to finish, everything was dialed. Our guides, Heath and Matt, were total pros—funny, skilled, and incredibly knowledgeable. They kept us safe through some big rapids while also making the whole experience exciting and memorable. The scenery was gorgeous, the water was perfect, and the vibe was just right. Can’t recommend H2O Adventures (and Heath and Matt!) highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing time river rafting on the Middle Fork in California on September 6, 2025! Our guide, Pierce, was fantastic—he made sure everyone felt safe and confident the whole trip. Most of our group had little to no experience rafting, but thanks to his clear instructions and steady guidance, we handled the Class III and IV rapids without anyone getting tossed out of the boat. What made the trip even better was Pierce’s knowledge of the area. He pointed out local wildlife and plant species along the way, and honestly it felt like having a National Geographic expert on board. He really brought the river to life, sharing cool facts and making us appreciate the beauty of the canyon just as much as the thrill of the rapids. All of the other guides with H2O Adventures were also amazing. They worked together as a team to make sure no boat was ever left behind, which showed how much they care about safety and group experience. You can tell the company has a great system in place that makes everything run smoothly. Pierce is truly an expert at what he does, and the entire H2O Adventures crew made this rafting trip both exciting and unforgettable. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for the perfect mix of adventure, safety, and appreciation of nature!

This trip was so frickin awesome I don’t even know where to start! The company, H2O Adventures…. Super helpful and accommodating in setting up our trip. Flexible, cost effective, quick responses to my calls, texts and emails and on point on every way. The exact perfect model of how a business should be run. Our guides, no words. Talk about giving maximum effort to ensure me and my family had the adventure of a life time. Marina ran our boat and she was the most competent and skilled guide we could have hoped for and then some. She was SUPER knowledgeable about all things river and rafting, she was funny, she was fun, she taught my whole family how to be better rafters and generally made sure every one of us had an absolute blast! Drayson ran the supply boat and all I can say is I’ve never seen somebody work so hard, so efficiently and still manage to be so cool and have so much fun. All the guys and girls at H2O totally rocked it, what an amazing team! And the trip itself was right out of a movie. Right at the edge of what we could handle (which is exactly what we wanted and asked for) with tons or extremely challenging and exciting rapids along with plenty of time to chill and enjoy the amazing surroundings. The food was amazing, the camp sight was right out of a painting and everything worked flawlessly. It kind of felt like we were rafting with a bunch of good friends, and those good friends happened to be the most experienced rafting guides on the planet. If you even think you might consider going white water rafting, it would be INSANE not to go with H2O. They literally helped make this summer vacation one of the best my family had ever had. We will 100% be back again! Thanks H2O, you guys killed it!

Can't Stop Raving About This Rafting Trip! I didn't think a rafting trip could be this fun, but H2O Adventures totally blew me away. From the moment Tony picked us up, the vibe was amazing -- funny, friendly, and super professional. It felt like we were in good hands right off the bat. Our guide Ann was the real MVP. She was calm, confident, and made us feel totally at ease -- even when the rapids got wild! Her instructions were clear, her energy was contagious, and she somehow made the whole experience both thrilling and relaxing at the same time. You could tell she really cared about everyone having a great time. And not to be dramatic, but lunch by the river (thank you, Lily!) was kind of magical. Everything tasted amazin

Hands down one of the best days we've had in a long time! We booked a rafting trip with H2O Adventures and honestly, it exceeded all expectations. Jody was our guide and he was fantastic--super laid-back, knowledgeable, and just a great guy to be around. He made sure everyone felt safe but still brought the fun and energy. He had great stories, gave us just the right amount of challenge, and kept the whole raft laughing the entire time. Tyler, our driver, was awesome too. Friendly, professional, and clearly knows the area well. He made the shuttle part of the trip smooth and stress-free--which honestly makes a big difference. It's clear that H2O Adventures puts a lot of care into who they hire, and it shows. Jody and Tyler made the day not just fun, but unforgettable. Highly recommend this crew!

Had the best experience With H2O Adventures. We had our young grandson with us and had a hard time finding a company that would accommodate him. We decided and chose this company and they were absolutely amazing .. Trevor made sure my grandson was safe and made this experience the best ... We laughed. We cried from laughing so hard...We stopped to jump of the cliff and my grandson did it as well as my son with his backflip... I highly recommend this company. They were wonderful. The Rapids were great. The staff was great. If you're thinking about it go for it you won't be disappointed...

Did white-water rafting down the South Fork with some girl friends on a Friday afternoon. We got the VIP treatment done we had the raft for ourselves plus our guide Steve. Steve was funny and informative. He told us jokes and stories about Mark Twain. The whole trip took about 2.5 hours and it was quite a workout. There was about 7 rafts within our group and at the end, we all rode back in an old school bus back to the parking lot. Thank you H2O for a great experience!

H2O Adventures provided an amazing day for our group of 7 women age ranging 28-70. We had a wonderful adventure with Pierce as our guide and Peter who coordinated our day. We enjoyed chatting with Pierce about the river and his experience being a guide. The most important thing is we felt absolutely safe. The boat, equipment and instruction was top notch. Three of us fell out (one in Satan's cesspool) and Pierce was on top of it with getting us out. I also appreciated seeing Peter jump in the water to help a girl who jumped off a rock and had the wind knocked out of her. He was quick to see if she was ok. We already have plans to go back next year. Thank you for a memorable day!

I spotted their vans near my work and decided to check them out--so glad we did! We booked the South Fork of the American River 1/2 Day Lower "Gorge" Run (Class II-III), and it was an adventure from start to finish. They sent a super helpful follow-up email with all the details on what to expect and bring. When we arrived, their guide was in the parking lot cracking dad jokes right from the start--hilarious and non-stop! After checking in, we left our keys in a lockbox and headed down. They made sure we knew to use the restroom since we'd be on the water for a few hours. If your trip doesn't include lunch, you can come a bit earlier and enjoy a meal with a stunning view! They geared us up and gave a thorough safety talk, then we split into our groups. We hit the jackpot with Rían as our guide--she made us feel totally prepared and at ease. Once in the raft, she had us introduce ourselves to the others (our raft held six). The trip was packed with fun moments, like swimming and jumping from rocks--just be ready to hop back in the raft for some epic photos! The half-day trip was perfect for our first time tackling rapids. We wrapped up the adventure with brownies and bottled water. I heard the brownies were a hit, but I missed out since I was taking a quick break.

My husband and I took our son white water rafting with H2O for his ninth birthday. We all had an absolute blast. Our son definitely had a birthday that he will never forget! Our guide Mike was also spectacular!!! I truly cannot recommend H2O enough! We will definitely be back!!!

GO RAFTING WITH THIS TRIBE! We took a guess as to which rafting company to go with (we went June 19), and we TOTALLY lucked out with H2O Adventures. Devon, on our ride to Oxbow Lake from Auburn, was fun, and then we had a safety briefing and how to hold our paddles, etc. from Marina. Then we lucked out again and got Matt as our guide! This deadpan, grizzled rafting veteran made the day insanely wonderful. We not only learnt how to paddle through rapids and the famous tunnel chute on the Middle Fork of the American River, we surfed, we did teacups, we pulled over to watch others come through what we just did, and rescued an entire crew and guide from another company! We learnt about Matt's stewardship of the river, some history of the area, about marine life, and I've incorporated a few of Matt's expressions: "Don't be weird." "It's only rafting." We had a wonderful picnic lunch midday, folks got a chance to jump off a high rock, and we got to watch our guides go down a class 5 rapid. All of it exhilarating, overcoming fear, and laughing so much. I enjoyed to family that was with us as well. We were 6 crew and 1 super fantastic guide. I learnt so much. I highly recommend H2O Adventures for a safe and fantastic day of rafting!

We had the BEST DAY! Our tour guide Blake took such great care of us! He was the BESt!! Our boat had ages 14-50 years old and everyone had a great time! The rapids were intense sometimes, but we felt up to the challenge, with Blake instructing us and we definitely saw his expertise on the rapids. We were a large group so our other friends were on with Devon and Pierce. These guys know what they're doing, and know how to make it a fun day for the family! Highly recommend.

H2O Adventures is a fantastic outfit! I booked a trip for our entire company and we had a total blast. This is a family owned company and they are super cool, the guides were total pros and took us all down the river without a hitch. The campsite was perfect for our whole group, I highly recommend them if you want to have a great day on the river rafting!

This was my first time rafting. And I want to thank our Marina, one of the most talented individuals with great sensor of humor. She made the 11 miles seem so much more fun and exciting. She ensure we got the whole experience and more. This would definitely one many more for me. Hopefully next marina is the guide again.

Unforgettable Day on the River! Just got back from an amazing rafting trip with H2O Adventures and I'm still smiling! Everything was top-notch from start to finish. Our driver Tony got us to the river safely and with great energy -- he had the whole van in a good mood before we even touched the water. Once we were out there, our guide Ann was an absolute legend. She made sure everyone felt safe and confident, and somehow made us laugh the entire way through some pretty wild rapids. You can tell she's a total pro, but she's also just so down-to-earth and fun to be around. And a special shoutout to Lily for putting together an awesome riverside lunch -- it hit the spot after all that paddling!

This was one of the most fun days I've had in awhile, went rafting with 7 coworkers that became good friends. Our guide was BIG DOG BLAKE!. My guy made the trip amazing. Will be going again and requesting my guy BLAKE!

We had a blast and a great experience with this company. Our guid was Emerson, and she was fantastic . She took special care of my 8 year old son. It was 107 out that day and Emerson made sure none of us overheated. Next time i want to do the longer one with the lunch.

My son and I just had the awesome experience of rafting the south Fork of the American river with H2O. We had the absolute best time! Our guide, Connor was completely competent and also so knowledgeable and most importantly incredibly fun! It was really the best experience I could have hoped for the day was beautiful. The people were great. The accommodations were perfect. The equipment was safe. We felt completely taken care of and also thoroughly entertained. I could not recommend this company anymore. And Connor is the best!

H2O team is amazing! We went for a full day trip (two moms with their 12yo girls) and have the BEST time. Such an incredible family-run team, and our guide Rian was full of fun, experience, and love. Definitely will continue rafting with them!

I think I picked these guys solely because they came up first in my search, but I have to say the search engine didn't let me down. I'd go with H2O again in a heartbeat. Our guide was wonderful! Friendly, told us exactly what to expect and what to do, and everything went smoothly. She was also great with the kids. What an experience!

Rafted the Middle Fork with H2O. Couldn't be happier with the experience. From pick up to rafting to the lunch, it all went smoothly. The highlight was our boat flipping over. The guides education before and during was exceptional and I simply followed their steps and was back in the boat with a wonderful story to tell. Highly recommend H2O.

Best Day Ever with H2O Adventures! Just got back from a rafting trip with H2O Adventures and WOW -- it exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless, safe, and SO much fun. Our drivers, Tony and Glenn, got us to and from the river like total pros (and had us cracking up the whole time). On the water, our guides Ann, Ellery, Keanu, Niko, and River were not only knowledgeable and experienced, but also hilarious and super encouraging -- they made the trip unforgettable. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. And don't even get me started on lunch -- Lily and Shelby hooked us UP with the best riverside spread. Who knew sandwiches could taste that good after a day on the water?! Huge shoutout to the whole crew -- you all made the day one for the books. Can't wait to come back again soon!!

Our trip with H2O was amazing! From the beginning of the day with our bus driver Glenn to the terrific lunch by Lily and Shelby to our super pro guides Ellery, River, Niko, Keanu, Jo and Ann. And to top the day with a brownie and a rubber foot by Tony! Could not have asked for a more perfect trip! PS - Say yes to the jump rock, bull riding and all the swimmers rapids! Thanks everyone!

We went on a team bonding event with H20 adventures and it was a blast. Our guide was Ellie, who was a rockstar! She was very informative and delivered directions as clear as possible. She made the 21mi stretch fun with maximizing our experience and telling us cool stories/ facts along the way. Glen, our bus driver was also a legend. Smoothest bus ride of my life. All around great day and I'd only whitewater raft with h20 adventures. Highly recommend!

If you're going whitewater rafting and don't request Mike, you're doing it wrong. this guy knows the river like the back of his paddle. Mike was part thrill-seeker, part stand-up comedian, and part river safety guru. He made our group feel 100% safe while still giving us the wild ride we came for. His energy was infectious, his instructions were crystal clear, and he somehow made even the downtime between rapids fly by with his jokes, river history, and rafting stories. It's not every day you find someone who can steer you through challenging rapids and still have you laughing the whole way. We hit everything from exhilarating drops to splashy rollercoasters, and won every water battle with opposing rafts - no question. Bottom line: I'll be requesting Mike every single time. The guy is a whitewater wizard. See you on the river, Mike!

Just went rafting this past Saturday with H2O Adventures and had an amazing time with our guide Blake! He was super skilled, kept us safe, and created so many opportunities for my friends and I to have fun out on the water. We asked for a thrilling ride and we got it! Would definitely recommend this company and we're already planning to come back next summer. If you want an exciting day, definitely ask for Blake! From what I recall, there are two Blakes????? lol. We got the guy who had just come back from Europe. Idk, maybe the company can name drop him better if they read this haha. We were also rafting very closely with Marina and Ethan. Our parents were in Ethan's raft. Everyone had a great time!

What went well? Everything went great. From rafting to having lunch river side. Such an awesome experience with my sons. From individual efforts to synchronized teamwork, our raft had an amazing time. Our guide Pierce A. is a true professional. He demonstrated expertise knowledge of water currents and made sure we took all the right lines. Full of facts about the wild life surrounding the river. Funny guy. River historian too. lol. This trip was truly an experience to remember. Wouldn't change a thing. Big Thank You to the entire H2O team. Made every raft out there come together as a big family. We had the best day ever. We are visiting from Texas and River was our guide. River was calm and patient. We had 3 adults and 4 kids none of us the most coordinated, River got us all in sync in time for the rapids. I highly recommend this trip and request River to be your guide.

We had a blast on the South fork. We were a group of 6, some in our 60s. Steph was fantastic. We weren't the best paddlers but the trip was expertly run like we knew what we were doing. She explained a lot about the river and gave us every opportunity to enjoy rafting, rock diving and rapids swimming. It was just what the new rafters were looking for. Steph explained all the safety info and what to do if nature called. After riding the bull one of our group came up for a breath saying she got sooo much pee in her mouth. Maybe the middle fork next time. And btw the lunch was great and plenty of it.

We had a blast on the 1/2 day tour last week. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny, and taught us so much about the land and its history. It's wonderful when you are around people working jobs they absolutely love. We almost stayed in the boat the whole time! Highly recommend!

I was with a different company on my first rafting experience, and H2O guys caught my attention once we were out on the river. H2O guys looked like they were having so much fun, I was jealous! I finally booked one of their tours, will never look back, and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking to raft. Our guide (Marina) was hilarious and was very well informed of the river the area, and about rafting in general. Book this company !!!

Marina is THE BEST!!! I surprised my wife the morning of the trip and I had booked the North Fork American River full day package. The team trained us, equipped us and guided one of the most memorable moments in our marriage. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. They provide such an adrenaline rush while feeling absolutely safe. The rain was pouring and the water was rushing!!! I cant wait to get back out there.

The staff is amazing, this is my 3rd time water rafting with H20. Every time has been exceptional and will continue to water rafting with them.

Best rafting experience I've ever had! Our guide, Anne, was awesome--she knew so much about the history of the river and rafting in general. The staff was great, the equipment was great, the location was great, and the transportation was smooth. I couldn't have asked for a better day. We went with a group of 49 people, and more than half were kids ages 6-18. EVERYONE said they had an amazing time and thought their guide was the best--haha! I have no doubt you'll have a great time if you choose to raft with H2O Adventure. Highly recommended!

We did chili bar run and Jeremy was great and so funny. The entire staff and booking process was easy. This was our second trip with H2O and we are already planning for next summer! Highly recommend.

We went on a half-day trip on the South Fork. It was easy to book. We signed a form online and got clear instructions about where to meet and what to bring. The trip started with safety stuff like life jackets and helmets. They told us how to stay safe on land and in the water. Each raft had a fun and skilled guide. We started with small rapids. Some people jumped in the river for fun. Halfway through, we could jump off a cliff into the water if we wanted. The bigger rapids were exciting, but our guide kept us safe. At the end, a jet ski took us back to the dock. We got yummy brownies and cold water on the bus ride back. The crew really loved their job. Their fun energy made the trip a blast! Bonus: They have photographers on the route to take memorable pictures. I am looking forward to going on a middle-fork trip with them soon based on my experience this time.

This was our first time going whitewater rafting with friends, and the experience was absolutely incredible! Our guide, Marina, was a true rockstar. Not only did she remember all six of our names on the first try--which was seriously impressive--but she was also extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about rafting. Marina took the time to connect with each of us individually, making the trip feel personal and welcoming. Most importantly, she kept us safe while ensuring we had an unforgettable adventure. We went on the South Fork with H2O Adventures, for the full day trip. We had the BEST time and I can't rate them highly enough. We arrived on a Wednesday which was ideal because we had the campground to ourselves. It seems on Wednesdays they close the dam to the river so most of the restaurants and stores are closed and not enough water flow for rafting. We enjoyed swimming in the quiet river which was super refreshing in the August heat. The campground facilities were heavenly compared to the rugged camping we did prior to our arrival: clean bathrooms, showers, tents with cots, outdoor kitchens and direct access to the river. And most amazingly no bugs! The host was so chill that it felt like we were visiting family. The only downside was that the campground was right next to another outfitter that had a group of loud party people who didn't respect quiet hours but no fault of H2O's. When we did complain our hosts did take care of things; And karma also punished the hungover late night party guests as I gleefully watched that group almost sleep through their rafting trip. What idiots would book an early rafting trip and stay up late drinking? ...but I digress. We had a group of 11 of 3 families so we got 2 two rafts. Our guides, Ethan and Garren, didn't seem to have any qualms with us having all the kids in 1 raft and the adults in the other which probably was a good move as it made space for the kids to have fun without their nervous parents hovering. Plus the kids enjoyed playing musical rafts. The guides were the perfect balance of calm experienced experts and fun. They were serious when communicating safety and relaxed silliness when instigating water fights or cracking jokes. I noticed the other guides for the other H2O rafts (Lulu, Pierce, and James) were the same way and they all had a jokey comradery with each other that made me feel like H2O's a well run company. Because we booked a full day trip a bus took our outfit group up river where we were given a last bathroom break then fitted with life vests, paddles and helmets. After a safety talk/instruction we got in our rafts and headed down river. There were some nice sized rapids early on our trip that the guides would describe and prepare us before we entered. The halfway point was the campground where we stopped for a nice spread of make-your-own sandwiches, chips, lemonade, and cookies. My kids scarfed down two sandwiches, unheard of anywhere else! Then the second half of the trip was a LOT more rapids, rock jumping into the river, 'falling' into the river and loads of fun. By the mouth of Folsom Lake someone from H2O met us to tow the group to where we got off the rafts and bussed back to the campground. I do recommend bringing a healthy amount of sunblock, water bottle and a hat with a brim. I noticed the guides wear long sleeve rash guards and leg coverings bottoms for sun protection. We listened to the guides and didn't bring a camera phone but there was a nice woman from another raft who risked her phone and took pictures of our rafts and shared them with us. There are people posted at the big rapids taking pictures that you can buy after the trip. Be sure to either bring cash to tip your guides or get their Venmo. They deserved every cent because they set the tone for your trip. Like I said ours were AMAZING because they were very knowledgeable and instilled confidence so we could relax and have FUN!

Experience was great.It was our group's first time and we selected the class IV section. It was great! Our guide Devin was fantastic. I highly recommend this company as their guides and gear are top notch.

We had an amazing day with H2O! We took the half day South Fork to celebrate Father's Day. Our guides Jeremy and Rian were so fun and made us feel comfortable the entire time. The kids had a blast. We're looking forward to another adventure.

My first time white water rafting & did the half day at south fork... I can say... AMAZING! I just booked the middle fork (advanced) for next month because I am that confident. Shoutout to our guide Emma. She made the experience fun & intimate. In the beginning, I was nervous and intimidated and just trying to get my strokes down. It's tricky once you're in the rapid getting smacked by water, but so fun. At the end of the trip there's homemade brownies & water bottles that are provided. I'm all about customer service so A++ to Tracy's brownies & the staff. Everyone is wonderful. Can't wait to get back in the river.

I will never face a white water rapid without them! The staff is like the Avengers of rafting--knowledgeable and super professional. Our guide was so good he trains other guides. Definitely recommend H2O if you want to ride the rapids like a pro

Amazing day on the river. We really enjoyed our trip and guide, Kegan. Started off calm and relaxed, we got instructions from the guide and safety rules. He taught us specific calls for our rowing. The entire team was really welcoming. I did fall out in the middle of Maytag which was absolutely terrifying, but I'm alive. We also really appreciate that they took photos and did not try to upsell them. That was great. Thank you all! We will definitely be back! Looking to do an overnight trip at some point.

Ann was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who not only cared for our raft but cared for the guides and riders in all rafts. We did the 3 hour tour @ noon as first timers and felt like it was a perfect intro. There were lots of laughs & big smiles throughout the adventure. We would definitely return here and highly recommend Ann. No upsell gimmicks & the end of the run was met with DELICIOUS homemade brownies and cold , bottled water. 5 star.
