H2O Hostel Ljubljana

Perfect location right on the river in the centre. Friendly staff, bright & breezy, clean & functional. Not a great meeting spot nor communal as such, but I'd been travelling in January & whizzing about Veneto, kinda needing a rest, and this place was just the ticket. Ljubljana was a wee side trip to say hello, having last passed through this way with barely a glance 40 years ago. A very pleasant official introduction to Slovenia. I'll be back another time to do more justice. Hvala, dobri ljudje.|Was confused because the hostel I'd booked next door was closed, but this is under same management & they refunded me/just checked me in here instead, so all good.

Nice clean hostel in a great location in the city - easy to get to from the train station and the FlixBus drop off point. ||I got a private room it was really great with a nice big bed and a tv. ||Not much of a common room and no bar which was a bit of a takeaway for me - as a solo traveler ||But if you’re not worried about that then this will be a great place for you.

The staff are friendly and the location is great but the bathrooms require a total makeover and the kitchen within the room’s are a no go because people cook and the room stinks up. The rooms should only be meant for sleeping nothing else.

The location is good, the reception guy is friendly and nice, it’s a good place to just stay couple days but not a good place to stay long term

I stayed here just 1 night and found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. The bed was comfy and I was in a 4 bed dorm. Excellent shower and i found everything was clean and the location was excellent, bang in the centre, near Dragon's bridge. Loved the Key card system, super convenient. However a couple of things which I think could be improved: The blinds on the window looked tatty and didn't shut out much light. Also the kitchenette is in the actual dorm room, not great for any lingering cooking smells.

Mainly giving it a 1 star on rooms because we were given a slow tiny fan to cool our private room. It was a 38 degree heatwave in a poorly insulated room. The fridge also didn't work, which we only found out after we placed some groceries in there and went swimming for the day. We were given a small amount of cash to make up for it, however it did not make up the total amount lost. The staff were friendly and helpful, however the first staff member I approached about the fridge waved me off, saying that I must have filled it up too much, left the door open or left the dial on a high number. The staff the following day were more helpful and decided to go the extra mile and investigate the issue, leading to them giving cash back.

Located in a prime city centre location. Quite close and walkable to all the touristic attractions. The 4-bed dorm is clean and spacious with a kitchenette. The nearby cafes and restaurants abound, they tend to be slightly pricey due to their proximity to tourist hotspots. The staffs were kind and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience for a backpacker.
