Top Notch! A young woman Shannon is the owner, and she gives phenomenal service when checking in (helps with your bags, and gives you a little bit of the history). I loved how she interacts with her patrons, conversations, and asking suggestions. Breakfast is like NOWHERE else! It is NOT just a continental breakfast, it's a full Hot breakfast bar with sides!! Homemade baked goods 5 stars goes to Josey. The stay was wonderful, comfortable, and very laid back. There's always water, ice, and coffee available. Would highly recommend and we WILL be back for our next visit to the Island. It is out of the main stretch so it was quiet yet easy to get to.

My husband and I had a room with a queen bed and private bath on the second floor. It was located in the wing on the left side of the house. That wing has its own entrance with a covered porch on the ground floor and a screen in porch on the second floors. It offers shaded views of the main street. The room itself had a window into the porch. Luckily there were no loud groups on the porch during our stay. The room was comfortable with it's own A/C unit that kept it comfortably cool. The bed was comfortable and there was a small table, but only one chair in the room. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and no tub. There wasn't a refrigerator in the room, however we could use the frig in the lobby if we labeled our items. The stairs to the room were fairly steep and there is no elevator. There were also stairs up to the porch so I do not recommend this for anyone with mobility issues, especially issues with stairs.||The room was clean and since it was a busy time, the room was not ready until check-in time. We were there for three nights and on the first full day in the room, the room was serviced while we were out (bed made, fresh towels, trash removed). On the second full day, the room was only partially serviced even though we were out of the room for several hours. The bed was not made, some but not all of the used towels were removed and the trash was removed from the bathroom but not the bedroom. Fresh towels were left in the bathroom so we had what we needed. The service we received was more than you normally get in hotels now (usually cleaning only once every three days), however I am mentioning this in case it's a big deal to someone else.||Each morning breakfast was provided in the lobby/dining room from 8:00 to 9:30. A warm savory dish and warm sweet dish are provided as well as a large assortment of fruit, cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and bread with a toaster available. Orange juice, milk, coffee and hot water for tea and hot chocolate were also served. Coffee and hot water were available in the lobby throughout the day as well as cookies in the afternoon.||The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there with other family members and made use of the table in the lobby for games as well as the porch for relaxing and visiting.||It was a nice stay, however if you have mobility issues you should request a room on the ground floor but be aware this will still involve some steps since you have some steps up to the porch entrance and there are steps up to the main lobby. Several of the rooms appeared to require a lot of steps so if this is an issue you should check on this before booking a room. This is a quiet location away from downtown, but you still hear the horses going by and see a lot of foot and bike traffic. The other guests were friendly which was nice because you often see them in the lobby, during breakfast, and on the porch. Bike rental locations are nearby and there is a bike rack in the front yard to store your bikes. There are also some lawn games and board games for guests' use.

The lady that ran the image was so nice and informative . We stay in Lafayette Davis room , which has a private bathroom . The room and bathroom is so clean , everything looks great . They have a. Common room that has snacks , all kinds of teas and coffee and hot chocolate . Fresh water to drink , the night we was there they had made a gluten free double chocolate cake . So good . Also had all kinds of games or books if you wanted to borrow . Beds were comfortable . Quite place . Nice Yard decorated with flowers and place to park bikes . Everything was so clean ! The next morning - she serve an awesome breakfast ( omelette casserole , French toast bake , all kinds fruit , yogurt , milk , almond milk , different kinds cereal , toast , Jams and peanut butter . Coffee . Teas . Orange juice , hot chocolate , muffins - I think there was Some more food , con not remember all of it .). Food was so good ! They also had a sign that said plastic and paper plates were for outdoors . They had set the takes with the nice china , nice dishes and silverware . It was buffet style , eat all you want . They clean up your plates and cups for you when you were done . When we got off of ferry , we had someone to take our luggage to bed breakfast for us , so we could start enjoying island since wasn’t time to check in yet . Luggage was sitting there waiting on us when it was time to check in.. An experience like I have never experienced. We loved it ! Would definitely stay again ! Easy check in and check out ! Very reasonable priced . Very good deal . Worth it ! If you have chance to go to Mackinac island , this is a must stay !

Hands down the best place to stay on the island. It's close to downtown, but enough past it to be quiet and peaceful. Cheapest prices of all the hotels and b&b's I've researched. Family owned and you're treated like family. This is our 5th time staying and were already planning on our next one.

A nice B&B with old charm. Stayed in 2014. The people are friendly and the food is top notch. Specifically I remember the bread pudding they made. The house was mostly clean. Minor things I noticed - dusting wasn’t thorough, like tops of dressers and corners - but those things weren’t a big deal. They had cleaners come daily. Some amenities I would’ve liked to see is personal mini fridge in the room but they’ll refrigerate your items in the big kitchen if you ask. Beds were a little bit uncomfortable (too firm) but that’s personal preference and others may like a firmer mattress.

We stayed in the John Jacob Astor room and it was wonderful. Especially loved the screened in porch. The staff were all very sweet and laid-back. The building was quieter than I expected (you couldn't hear everything going on, the only noise was from the old doors). I liked that the bathrooms were more modern, while the rooms kept their 1800s aesthetic. Location is great, being right next to the historic catholic church and right in front of the Butterfly House. Less than a 5 minute walk from downtown. Our room was so cozy, it was hard to leave to explore the island. :)

We rented the Governor Lewis Suite, which was shared with my daughter and her family. Very comfortable accomadation. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and quiet. We really enjoyed the breakfast spread, it was elegant and delicous. The staff are friendly and helpful through out our stay.|

We absolutely *loved* our stay here! Everything was so lovely that by that in the short time we were shown to our room we had already asked for further availability after our stay! We stayed in the Gov. Lewis Cass Suite and it was so perfect for our family. The next morning we got up at our leisure and ate a delicious breakfast (with amazing homemade bread!) and then headed out with our fresh coffees to right behind the inn to the butterfly house! I wish I could live here, it was so peaceful and relaxing. The owners were nothing short of amazing, I’d rate it more starts if I could!
