I stayed at Haan's 1830 B&B last week as part of my first visit to Mackinac Island. I was greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff was just as friendly and delightful. Each morning I was greeted with an amazing and delicious full breakfast. My stay there was wonderful. I enjoyed the peaceful setting, wonderfully decorated room (La Framboise), soothing time on the porch swing reading my book, and the amazing places to eat. The B&B is in a great location, just a short walk from the bustling main part of town where you can't go wrong on choosing where to eat. I highly recommend the Monet sandwich at the Watercolor Cafe! Haan's B&B is an excellent place to stay on the island.

Loved our recent stay at the inn. The buffet style breakfast was phenomenon! Great variety to suit everyone in my family. A highlight was the sweet treat along with the breakfast casserole, fresh homemade bread, yogurt with fruit and granola. My favorite was the sweet peach bunt cake and the lemon poppy seed muffins. There is a nugget ice machine and fresh water available 24/7. It comes in handy for refilling your thermos before heading out on a biking adventure. The rooms were clean and fresh towels daily if needed. The staff is readily available for any questions. Even the owners young children will help answer questions and give suggestions of sites to see. If you are lucky enough, like me, they might give you a tour of the the inn too!!! Being a small family owned business ourselves I loved seeing the family work and play together throughout the day. I would recommend the Haan's 1830 Inn to anyone that plans to stay on the island!

Shannon does an excellent job making everyone feel at home. The breakfast included a hot egg casserole, yogurt with toppings, cereal and oatmeal selection, fresh orange juice & coffee. The rooms are very spacious, immaculately cleaned and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking our coffee. This location is just a block or so outside of the downtown area, but it is quiet, so in my opinion, the best of both worlds.

Our stay was a two night stay in mid July. It was clean and comfortable. The owner was accommodating and very helpful. We had such a delicious breakfast served in a quaint setting in the dining room. We had an egg casserole, a berry cobbler, fruit, granola, toast, yogurt, coffee and juice. She had tea, coffee and water available during the day. Perfectly located away from the busy part of town, but not too far. Priced just right for this sweet B & B!

This place was AMAZING! I can’t recommend this Bed and Breakfast enough. We stayed in the Beaumont Suite and it was perfect. The owners are super sweet and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was very good and convenient. The location is great too! We liked being a 5-minute walk from the main downtown strip. The best part was sitting out on the porch and petting the two cats that roam the property! Skip the big hotels and book your stay here. You will not regret it.

Top Notch! A young woman Shannon is the owner, and she gives phenomenal service when checking in (helps with your bags, and gives you a little bit of the history). I loved how she interacts with her patrons, conversations, and asking suggestions. Breakfast is like NOWHERE else! It is NOT just a continental breakfast, it's a full Hot breakfast bar with sides!! Homemade baked goods 5 stars goes to Josey. The stay was wonderful, comfortable, and very laid back. There's always water, ice, and coffee available. Would highly recommend and we WILL be back for our next visit to the Island. It is out of the main stretch so it was quiet yet easy to get to.

My husband and I had a room with a queen bed and private bath on the second floor. It was located in the wing on the left side of the house. That wing has its own entrance with a covered porch on the ground floor and a screen in porch on the second floors. It offers shaded views of the main street. The room itself had a window into the porch. Luckily there were no loud groups on the porch during our stay. The room was comfortable with it's own A/C unit that kept it comfortably cool. The bed was comfortable and there was a small table, but only one chair in the room. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and no tub. There wasn't a refrigerator in the room, however we could use the frig in the lobby if we labeled our items. The stairs to the room were fairly steep and there is no elevator. There were also stairs up to the porch so I do not recommend this for anyone with mobility issues, especially issues with stairs.||The room was clean and since it was a busy time, the room was not ready until check-in time. We were there for three nights and on the first full day in the room, the room was serviced while we were out (bed made, fresh towels, trash removed). On the second full day, the room was only partially serviced even though we were out of the room for several hours. The bed was not made, some but not all of the used towels were removed and the trash was removed from the bathroom but not the bedroom. Fresh towels were left in the bathroom so we had what we needed. The service we received was more than you normally get in hotels now (usually cleaning only once every three days), however I am mentioning this in case it's a big deal to someone else.||Each morning breakfast was provided in the lobby/dining room from 8:00 to 9:30. A warm savory dish and warm sweet dish are provided as well as a large assortment of fruit, cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and bread with a toaster available. Orange juice, milk, coffee and hot water for tea and hot chocolate were also served. Coffee and hot water were available in the lobby throughout the day as well as cookies in the afternoon.||The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there with other family members and made use of the table in the lobby for games as well as the porch for relaxing and visiting.||It was a nice stay, however if you have mobility issues you should request a room on the ground floor but be aware this will still involve some steps since you have some steps up to the porch entrance and there are steps up to the main lobby. Several of the rooms appeared to require a lot of steps so if this is an issue you should check on this before booking a room. This is a quiet location away from downtown, but you still hear the horses going by and see a lot of foot and bike traffic. The other guests were friendly which was nice because you often see them in the lobby, during breakfast, and on the porch. Bike rental locations are nearby and there is a bike rack in the front yard to store your bikes. There are also some lawn games and board games for guests' use.
