This is a beautiful and secluded beach located on the western coast of the main island of Tongatapu in Tonga. It is peaceful and quiet and protected by a reef, hence good for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is also known as one of the best surfing sites in Tonga

One of the most beautiful spots on the island. Clear water, nice sand. Came for the sunset. Sad to see what was once resorts there but are no more as it’s such a stunning spot. There is some rubbish at the entrance of the road however still doesn’t detract from its beauty.

Beautiful beach! Unfortunately all the hotels and amenities that were along this beachfront were destroyed in the tsunami some years ago. The water is lovely, calm and clear. The sand is nice and there is plenty of sediment/shells close to the water, be careful when walking. As others have mentioned, a bit of rubbish and no facilities. The sun is over this beach all day and there is nowhere for shade, if you prepare for that you'll be sorted for a nice time here

One of the nicest beaches on Tongatapu since the tsunami. There is still some rubble on the beach but most of it has been cleaned up. It’s a reef so it’s good for snorkelling but not really swimming. Great place to see the sunset!

It's a beautiful beach to relax on and swim. But everything has gone, coral and resorts since the tsunami last year. No signs of restoration anytime soon.

Really beautiful beach, shame all the resorts were destroyed in the tsunami. But now it is very quiet and peaceful, would recommend to come out here for a few hours to relax with lots of privacy.

Ha'atafu beach is amazing and Ha'atafu Resort is the gem of the beach . If you're going to Tonga I highly recommend you stay with the Tongan family at Ha'atafu Resort. Their feast dinner is just so amazing …
