Habana Riviera by Iberostar

This place is really cool to visit, get a drink and maybe a pizza. However, this place is like most in Cuba, very rundown and in need of rehabilitation. Went to the lobby bathroom and every one of the 10 or so toilets was filled to the brim with no hope of flushing it down. Barf. However, if it gets fixed up it rules. Also the rooms are cool but remember everything in those rooms was put there when it was built and is still there. Carpet, mattresses, everything.

We are soon thrilled with our stay at Riviera Hotel! We arrived late at night and everyone was helpful and our room was lovely. When we went for breakfast .... it could not get any better! Delicious, freshly made omelets exactly as requested, mimosas, excellent pastries, grilled veggies, smoothies freshly blended (even with fresh yogurt),meats,cheese, fruit and more than I could even list. The staff was so friendly and gracious! The dining, the lobby, the cafe areas are beautiful. We did not swim but others did and looked very happy. We walked all over, and did the hop on hop off everyday to tour, visit and eat in the beautiful new and old Habana! We even had a very fun ride in a pink old Chevrolet! If you come to Cuba and only do the beach, you miss so many awesome memories you could be making! A great big thank you to Riviera for a beautiful, relaxing time. We will be coming back for sure!

This hotel has most of the original decor and art as when it was built by mobsters in the 1950's. it has a huge beautiful lobby where I am sitting right now enjoying a view of the Malecon and ocean beyond. There are numerous restaurants in the hotel offering pretty much anything you want at any time of the day or night and the quality is outstanding. There is often live music being played in the lobby as you get your wifi. The hotel is kept very clean and tidy both rooms and common areas.||We met quite a few of the staff here and found that each one of them are more than professional, helpful and kind. We feel we have made some special friends with the staff here. A highlight of our stay at the Riviera was the personal historic tour by Ivis from Public Relations. She also went above and beyond with her service and was always available and accommodating. Be sure to ask for her.||You will be glad you chose the Riviera hotel.

We travelled as a party of 6, staying mostly in Havana. We did separate bookings through the booking.com in this hotel. My friends and us booked standard rooms. Our problems actually started at our arrival. Our luggage was send it to a wrong room and it took one hour to get it back. After arrival we had no hot water though. Complained with no result. Housekeeping did not even replaced our bath towels next day and even completely wet one from the floor they have just pushed under the sink. I have requested fresh towels with Public Relation lady about 3pm.... then we left for a walk. Got back after 5:00pm to find our towels are not replaced yet. Called reception three times , nobody picked up. Went there to find out Public Relations is gone (she work only until 17:00) asked receptionist about the towels and after another one hour we eventually received them. Then safe did not work but to be fair it was fixed in a few minutes. Did not even get apologies and it was not fixed during our stay. And we were there only for two nights. || Food is descent, guys in the main restaurant are brilliant. Entertainment, hit or miss. Great one night not really another.||I have contacted hotel after to complain about my experience, but I didn’t get any reply yet. Certainly not get back there.

This hotel was built in 1957 and was the dream of well known gangster Meyer Lansky. It was the best and most luxurious Havana hotel at the time. If you want real 50s charm at is very best you should to stay here. The hotel was extremely clean, the food very good, the complimentary breakfast was worth getting out of bed for, and the on-site French restaurant is to die for.|The main attraction of this hotel was the staff. From the security people, cleaning staff, waiters and waitresses , to the reception desk everyone is pleasant and happy to serve you. The most remarkable staff member is Iris, Customer Relations, she is unbelievable and will do everything to make you happy that you chose her hotel to stay in. Sometimes a room is just a room but what makes one hotel better then the next one is usually the staff. In this regard, Hotel Riviera is a definite 5 star.|The hotel is a ways from Old Havana and a cab will cost you 10 cuc or even more if you can’t negotiate well but there are many very good restaurant bars right around the hotel.

I stayed here for 1 week with breakfast and dinner. The staff were lovely, the dinner was always excellent and included appetizers, main course, and dessert. They also had some nice artistic shows in the evenings in the lobby.||Also, all the rooms had a nice view to the ocean.||The building and pool were kept clean but a little old fashioned.

This hotel needs to renovated but its okay if its old as long as its clean!||The people needs to trained on basic customer service and all. ||1. Basic thank you, welcome, have a nice day, enjoy your day etc they don’t say it. Doorman or people in front doesn’t greet and just look at you don’t greet you or offer help. With or without tip they should greet you basic god morning or offer help. ||2. Rooms are very dirty. We asked 3x for our room to be cleaned. And waited for an hour that night just to be cleaned but still wasn’t cleaned 👎. In the end since we are very tired and waited for an hr, we just requested for the the sheets to be changed and new towels. ||3. And the Fridge inside the room, my God, please kindly check it before opening one because the cans are dirty. What if its a rat pee or God knows what!?? ||5. Scariest elevator ever! Lol Wont close properly so it wont move after trying it every like 4-5 time pressing and keep open and close all the time and make loud noises. Promise every time we use it we pray and my husband sweat a lot just bec of that. ||They advertise as 4-5 star hotel but its not.||Rooms has very nice views. Lots of potential but poor service. Especially the reception desk.||I have videos but wont load. ||||||||

Our trip took place on September 2019. The air condition at the Lobby does not work, is is impossible to stay there for more than 5 min, we had to go to a neighbor hotel to have some drinks. The air condition in the rooms is not good either, we had to move to one room to another until finding a good climate to be able to sleep comfortably. The hotel was sorounded by scaffoldings; despite all this the Management at the hotel stated the hotel was under maintenance, it seemed more a reconstruction because it has been like that for almost 3 years. The only thing that made us feel comfortable was the Cuban personnel, they are extremely friendly and willing to help all the time. We are really disappointed because we paid mainly for staying at the Lobby Bar and enjoy the great sea view from there. In the web page the photos are very old. It is really a pity that this majestic hotel is in such conditions.
