Habitat 67, is a world-famous housing complex located in Montreal. It was designed by architect Moshe Safdie and built for Expo 67, the 1967 World’s Fair.
Habitat 67 is known for its modular, stacked concrete units that create a visually striking and unconventional residential structure. From a distance and in the rain, I thought it looked like stacked boxes.
Each apartment has its own terrace, and the design combines the benefits of suburban homes (like gardens and privacy) with the density and efficiency of urban apartment living. Tours are offered.
Habitat 67 features: Fifteen models (from 1 to 5 modules),
Views on three sides and terraces for each of the apartments,
Spaces ranging from 624 to 3,000 square feet (spread over one, two, or three floors),
One, two, three or four terraces per apartment.
