Nice cozy hotel with excellent views; hidden in tranquility it provides a superb atmosphere that is hard to neglect. Menu is healthy and dishes are quickly prepared. And although food ordered at restaurant isn’t permitted in rooms, I enjoyed my stay and will recommend then return again.

The view is amazing, the room very clean and nice, I highly recommend upgrading to a supreme room with the balcony overlooking the ocean and mountains. The only reason I give 4 stars is the food and menu. The pictures of the food don’t even compare with what you actually get and their alcoholic drinks even asking for a 2nd shot of rum still tastes like plain juice. I have stayed at places in the Dominican where one drink and you are drunk for 1/4 the price. Plus the wait time for food and drink is very long and they will not bring to your room.

Habitation Des Lauriers is truly one of Cap-Haïtien’s best-kept secrets when it comes to places to stay. Nestled in a breathtaking setting, it gracefully blends timeless architecture that echoes the charm of Cap-Haïtien dantan with subtle, elegant touches of modern comfort. Perched above the city, it offers not only a serene escape but also a stunning vantage point over the northern coast. The hiking trails were a beautiful surprise, nature, history, and tranquility all wrapped into one unforgettable experience.

Stayed two nights. The hotel is located up an extremely steep hill. The road is narrow with sharp turns. The location is reasonably quiet, although there is no soundproofing. Beautiful view from the garden.|My experience was mixed. The hotel provides airport transfers for USD 30 each way, which is very expensive for a distance of 4.6 km. I was picked up at the airport and, upon arrival at the hotel at 11:00, they gave me early check-in at no additional cost, which was greatly appreciated. The standard room I had booked was up on flight of stairs. It was clean, although fairly basic and dated. The A/C wasn't working (which had been communicated in advance), but the room had a ceiling fan and a portable fan, so it was ok. The bed was on the soft side but overall passable. There was a decently lit desk area. Sufficient number of power outlets.|The bathroom was quite dated. The sink had a very loose faucet, and the shower was handheld only. There was plenty of hot water with good water pressure.|There were several power outages every day, lasting from seconds to a few minutes. Almost every one of those resulted in the wifi not working for at least 30 minutes.|Breakfast was included but portions were meager and service extremely slow. The first day it took almost an hour to get fruit and pancakes, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The next day I told them I was heading to the airport and asked for the quickest breakfast item they had on the menu. Even though it wasn't busy at all, it still took over 40 minutes to get three pieces of fruit, bread (not even toasted) and jam; coffee was cold.|The hotel restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, but options are limited; if you have special dietary requirements, you definitely need to order in advance. The restaurant staff seems to have a "couldn't care less" attitude. There are no other restaurants in the immediate proximity of the hotel. |The front desk staff is generally helpful. They set up a private tour for me to visit Citadelle Laferriere and Palais Sans Souci (~ 4.5 hours, USD 160) - not cheap, but it worked out well.|A word of warning about transfers to the airport booked through the hotel. I had booked my ride 3 hours before my flight, earlier than the hotel recommended. However the driver didn't show up on time, and we left the hotel 15 min late. Due to the rain, there was a major traffic jam with bumper-to-bumper traffic. In order to make my flight, I ended up getting off the car half way to the airport and getting on a mototaxi (with all my belongings, suitcase included).

They clean the rooms everyday, and change the sheets. Plus it is uphill, so a little bit far from the noise of a city, a cool temperature, surrounded by trees, which provide a little bit of intimacy. The breakfast was not great for me. It would be great if the hotel had indoor activities like music by the pool at night to keep people entertained. And the entrance is really narrow, you need a good car for the slope. I was disappointed to see that they only gave us one bottle of water for the stay per room, but the hotel manager was a nice guy, he was willing to listen to our complaints about the water and decided to give the whole family the free airport ride home, which we really appreciated. It looks like major renovations are going on, so hopefully that's for the best.

Listen they are not joking about that steep road that leads to the hotel. A lot of the stuff on the menu weren’t available. Specially by the end of the week. Flies won’t leave you alone in the dining area. Roaches in the room. Window in the room didn’t close right so house lizards got in 😵‍💫Wardrobe drawer broken. Ac is only on from 8pm to 5am. No fridge in the room. Overall very basic but then again might be the rooms I was at since they do have the suites not sure. I wish they would have some sort of entertainment at the pool because I see stuff for it but nothing was happening and we were there for a week. My husband was sick and I asked for a bucket of hot water since the hot water in the room wasn’t working. The girl at the reception told me she would check on that for me but by the way she answered me I knew it wasn’t going to happen and it didn’t. The owner came & greeted everyone at breakfast one day except for our table & this white guy sitting at the bar… Beautiful view of the ocean and really nice breeze in the common areas! They do clean the rooms daily and give you fresh sheets & towels and bottles of water for however many people are in the room.

In general, for Haitian standards this place is pretty good! Under new management and the owner is making serious renovations to the hotel. WiFi is strong on the balconies and the water pressure in the rooms is not great. A/C not available 24 hours due to fuel/power issue. Beautiful view though over the city and a steep hill to get up to the hotel

Customer service is perfect, they also have the best views. The place was quiet. The room was ok, but they just need to update the bathroom. The pool was out of service. The WiFi was great!
