We stay in Cap regularly and thought we'd head to the hotel for a day of relaxing. Breakfast prices weren't too bad at all ($6 omelette, $5 pancakes) and we ate lunch too, super reasonable ($7 burger and fries). Dinner time came around and we thought we'd get some drinks and snacks. Bartender offered to make us an amaretto sour, 'his favorite', and we decided to have a couple. We asked about snacks and he offered some fried goat, fries and plantains-yum! Plate came out with about 10 bite size goat pieces, some fries and plantain chips. Figured we'd spend $12-15 as is typical for a goat meal in Cap (it's my fav so I'm well versed in prices). I should have known to ask the price since the items were not on the menu. Always ask the price. I should know this from working in Haiti for the last 7 years.||Goat snack dish was $18.||Drinks were $12/each.||Our 4 drinks and one goat snack dish were more than breakfast AND lunch, combined.||The hotel is nice and for those of us working in Cap, a nice escape from the city. But please, always remember to ask for the prices first.
