Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffee Farm

This place was awesome!!! We booked a last minute tour after ending up with an extra day in Costa Rica. We were staying near the airport, and Hacienda Alsacia was an easy 30 minute drive, which made it a perfect fit. We took the first tour of the day at 9am, and it was outstanding. The experience was informative, interactive, and genuinely fun. We learned so much about coffee, from the plants in the field all the way to a finished cup. It really opens your eyes to how much work, precision, and care goes into something most of us drink every day without thinking twice. Even our 6 year old was engaged the whole time and learned how to taste and appreciate coffee, just a few sips of course. It is honestly astonishing what it takes to make a single cup of coffee. The on site café is also excellent. They had a wide variety of pastries that all looked incredible, many of them unique and not something we have ever seen at other Starbucks locations. It was the perfect way to wrap up the tour. Highly recommend this experience, especially if you are near San José or the airport and want something meaningful, educational, and memorable to do.

Visiting the Starbucks coffee farm in Costa Rica was an incredible experience! We got to see how coffee is made completely from scratch — from the plants to the final brew. The guides were knowledgeable and made the tour fun and educational. The coffee shop on site was amazing too, with a beautiful view overlooking a waterfall that looked like something out of a postcard. We’re so glad we bought our tickets online ahead of time because the tours fill up quickly. It was worth every minute! Highly recommend for coffee lovers and anyone visiting Costa Rica! ☕🌿🌄

You must visit this place when you are in San Jose, Costa Rica. You feel pudra vida on the way here. Foggy, rainy and winding road. Great coffee experience while watching view. Coffee taste is very smooth. Service was professional. You can take coffee tour for fee. Clean restrooms.

The coffee was amazing as you’ll otherwise get in CR. The food was good as well. It took way long to get the food. I found the place more expensive than I had expected. Overall a good experience. We did not do the coffee tour.

Tours are available daily by reservation only through online booking, with sessions in Spanish and English at different times. Our expert guide, Daria, shared insights on coffee farming, harvesting, drying, and selecting premium beans, along with Starbucks’ efforts to support local farmers. The tour concludes with a coffee tasting. The site also hosts the most significant and unique Starbucks café in the country, providing a stunning view of the coffee farm, where you can buy coffee beans and enjoy a top-tier café experience—highly recommended when visiting Costa Rica!

This was the best tour ever !! I learned so much, loved our guide, she was super nice and knowledgeable. It was beyond my expectations, loved the experience a lot, I highly recommend ! We had drinks at the end of the tour and there’s a souvenir shop. Perfect place for a Starbucks fan 🤩

Cafe was underwhelming and very slow. Food was ok, coffee took a very long time. Over a half hour for 2 pour overs and a Aeropress (Clover), partially due to the line, but we got and for nished our food before coffee even made an appearance. Tour however was extremely informative and interactive. The finishing tasting with French pressed blond roast was nice (though personally i would prefer a darker roast)

Stopped by here directly from the airport at around 10:30 am on a Thursday and it was not very busy, but I can see how it can get busy on the weekends so make sure you plan accordingly. You definitely come here for the view and the vibes, don’t be blown away by the drinks or food - it’s still a pretty typical Starbucks. I would skip the tour and just walk around the property yourself
