Great. A terrifically restored hacienda that covers the rugged conditions of living on the southwestern frontier, as well as the convergence of Spanish, Indian and American experince

A fascinating glimpse into daily life at an early-19th century working hacienda. Historical information posted in each room works well for a self-guided tour. We visited on a weekday morning and nearly had the place to ourselves, although I imagine that other weekday visitors might encounter school groups.

It was very interesting seeing how they lived

Really well presented, neat little museum about rural life in the early 1800s. Gives you a feel for how the family lived here. Some cool furniture and items of daily living to see.

A great place to see and learn about how they lived in the Taos area back in the early 1800s through the mid 1900s. Beautiful Adobe home with really interesting floors! We learned a lot about the Martinez family and how they survived back then. Fun and educational!

Good museum showcasing lifestyle in New Mexico in the past. Not very crowded and easy to access

Opens at 10 am. Great walk through museum. A lot of descriptions posted. Very authentic displays. It doesn’t look like a museum on the outside but well worth it to go in.

Google
Really cool experience. Wish I could have had a guided tour. I get much more from guided tours rather than self guided. That being said, this place is a nice 30 min - 1 hour stop and experience this piece of history. Front desk attendant was very sweet. $10 per person.

Yelp
Rich in local history, if you love a local museum and an architecture activity... this place is for you. We enjoyed walking through the casa and learning about how they lived in the Spanish colonial era. $8 entry, self guided.

Yelp
If you appreciate history, this museum is a must visit. It is a time capsule of early New Mexico history (early 1800's Spanish and Mexican rule). What a treasure.

Yelp
Cool historical place. I highly recommend it if you love to see historical spots. They give you a sheet of paper to self guide and read about the rooms.

Yelp
Visited in early fall of 2021. Was cheerfully greeted by Ana Luisa in the main office. She is very knowledgeable about the site and history and I loved chatting with her. She also gave me some wonderful book recommendations. The rooms of la hacienda are well kept and there is a lot of interesting information to read in each room. I very much enjoyed walking the grounds and looking at each room. Outside of La hacienda is a beautiful little creek near a bridge. It's very peaceful. Definitely worth checking out if you are into history!

Yelp
This is a rustic hacienda, giving you a good idea of what life was like in the early 1800s. The visitor center assistant was wonderful and very helpful. Definitely stop by and check out a piece of Taos history.

Yelp
Great way to learn more about Taos and its past! The hacienda is restored to how hot would have originally looked. We loved strolling through the rooms!

Yelp
A must stop for history buffs or anyone wanting to gain a sense of the history in the immediate Taos and surrounding area. A quality museum, impressive collections and great place to reflect on the dynamic cultural, political and commercial activites in the area during the early nineteenth century. Helpful docent on site. No crowds. The real deal.

Yelp
Fantastic little museum. Took 3 young children here who had a great time exploring all of the well-designed and intriguing rooms in this museum. There is an excellent pamphlet guide that helps to explain life in the Hacienda hundreds of years ago. A must for anyone interested in the rich cultural history of northern New Mexico.

Yelp
Fun experience! Great old house (maybe 20 rooms situated around two courtyards) built around 1800, mostly original (not reconstructed), and the self-guided tour took about an hour. There are lots of informative and interesting displays (beaver traps, chapel, cooking, trading and bartering, ...). At least one room had activities for kids (dress-up, coloring, ...).

Yelp
The Hacienda De Los Martinez is like stepping back in time. This beautifully restored adobe is a favorite of ours, we visited it both times that we vacationed in Taos. The entrance fee is reasonable, the house is clearly marked, and as you wander through the large home and its various rooms, you can imagine life in the heyday of this residence. The self-guided tour is easy to understand, and many of the rooms are set up with furnishings that are correct to the history of the home. Take your time and enjoy this historic home.
