Hacienda del Cardenal

The property itself is historical and well-situated. The room is missing some items you’d find in any 3-4 start properties. It doesn’t come with electric kettle nor coffee maker. There’s a bathtub in the bedroom (?). No box of tissues. It’d be nice to have at least an electric kettle so I can enjoy some tea in my room whenever I want to. If you lower your expectations, you’ll enjoy this place. It’s too bad as the hotel has potentials, but I wouldn’t recommend to those who are used to 4 start properties.

I had stayed here before and was coming back as i remembered it fondly however we got put in a new wing and the room had an open bathroom, no door for the toilet and a see through shower. With the front door open you could see someone in the shower or on the toilet from the corridor. Seriously!?The wifi didn’t work at all and the room certainly wasn’t cheap. The grounds and view are lovely but you could just pop in to see them

Beautiful hotel, not far from the station of Toledo. The rooms are spacious and have a big bathrooms there is also a pool on the terrace. Breakfast is buffet style with the option to order more hot food

I wish I could give this hotel 6 stars! My wife and I got married in Toledo recently and had about 50 family members stay at this hotel + we did one of the wedding events at the hotel. It is incredible!! The location is perfect. Conveniently next to the old town but also just outside the old town where you can park more easily. The hotel itself is beautiful and the new renovated rooms are perfect. Very nice and modern while maintaining the Toledo Charm What really made this a 6 star stay for me was the staff. WOW. Johan, Benjamin, and the rest of the maintenance team were incredibly helpful the entire time. They helped us with lots of luggage, storing some items, and moving boxes around. Never felt any negative energy, always a strong willingness to help. They are awesome. The reception staff was incredibly helpful as well. Angelica and her team were a pleasure to work with leading up to the stay and while we were there. The team that helped set up our post wedding brunch and the waiters were extremely helpful too. I wish I could remember their names. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

The service was impeccable—staff members were warm, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a perfect stay. Now, let’s talk about the food—simply outstanding! The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of traditional Spanish cuisine with a refined touch. The cochinillo (suckling pig) was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the paella was bursting with authentic flavors. Every dish was beautifully presented and paired wonderfully with a great selection of wines. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both a luxurious stay and an exceptional culinary experience, Hacienda del Cardenal is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel located on the outer wall of Toledo. Our room was huge, really comfortable and warm. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and the surrounding gardens and patio. Breakfast was sufficient, although the coffee wasn’t great. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was reasonable, we had a great bottle of wine. Great value for money!!

Hotel was great, the restaurant not so much. From a hotel perspective the staff was very courteous and the rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet was ok but overall I recommend the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant is poorly managed. There isn’t enough staff to support the demand they have and it leads to a stressful environment. While some staff were helpful, others didn’t want to work through a language barrier and weren’t helpful at all. One waitress even tried taking our menus between us ordering appetizers and our entrees. If it wasn’t for our main server stepping in and talking to her it would’ve ended poorly. The restaurant needs support to make this lovely property well rounded.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night while visiting Toledo. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. You really feel like your traveling in time and staying at a beautiful hacienda. The staff was incredibly friendly and very informative about the surrounding areas and the services they offer. It's located right at the entrance to Toledo's "ancient" city where everything is walking distance. We are definitely staying here again should we return to Toledo and recommend it to everyone!

It must be good to be a Cardinal! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this historic property. It is really a beautiful building with large, comfortable, and clean rooms. The hallways are wide and decorated in a fashion that recalls the unique identity of the structure. The breakfast buffet was great and included regional meats and cheeses. While we did not dine in the restaurant, we certainly enjoyed having drinks in the garden. The hotel is In a setting of natural beauty--very green, peaceful, and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is on the edge of the old city of Toledo, which made it very easy to go on tours by foot. We would be very pleased to stay there again!
