Absolutely gorgeous hotel located on the outer wall of Toledo. Our room was huge, really comfortable and warm. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and the surrounding gardens and patio. Breakfast was sufficient, although the coffee wasn’t great. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was reasonable, we had a great bottle of wine. Great value for money!!

Hotel Hacienda del Cardenal is an absolute gem in Toledo. With its unbeatable location on the city walls, it feels like stepping into a piece of history. The hotel is full of personality, with its stunning architecture, charming courtyards, and unique atmosphere that sets it apart from anywhere else. It’s not just a stay, it’s an experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty and soul of Toledo for a few nights.

Hotel was great, the restaurant not so much. From a hotel perspective the staff was very courteous and the rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet was ok but overall I recommend the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant is poorly managed. There isn’t enough staff to support the demand they have and it leads to a stressful environment. While some staff were helpful, others didn’t want to work through a language barrier and weren’t helpful at all. One waitress even tried taking our menus between us ordering appetizers and our entrees. If it wasn’t for our main server stepping in and talking to her it would’ve ended poorly. The restaurant needs support to make this lovely property well rounded.

Customer service: excellent Cleanness: excellent Rooms: can improve The location is very convenient. It’s 10 minutes from the train station in car. The hotel is just next to the entrance of the muralla and 3 minutes walk to the Puerta de Bisagra. We didn’t book a tour or had a car. Ubers and Cabify dont serve that zone but the hotel staff call you a taxi and it gets there in less than 5 minutes. They called us a taxi for el Mirador del Valle and to the train station.

The fire alarm went off for atleast 30 mins at breakfast & No advice given. For a 4 stat hotel this was the Worst breakfast we ever had. Cheap bread. Cheap tiny stingy pastries. No salmon no fresh fruit. No fresh juices. Chipped plates. Staff wearing dirty uniform clothing. It's not the staff at fault it's the management . The breakfast means very little to these manager people. For a room including parking at €270 not good enough. No directional signage to or from your room.

An overall very beautiful hotel in a nice location. The rooms are ok and the breakfast buffet could be better organized, but these are very minor inconveniences.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. It's a good location and the whole place is absolutely stunning, the building and the gardens are fairytale beautiful. Unfortunately it lacks service and a bit of maintenance. The rooms are fine but the beds are uncomfortable, and the bathrooms are clean but feel like a motel. The employees are nice and they seem to be trying their best but there is just not enough of them. It is almost a joke how this beautiful place is a missed opportunity. I don't know how long they can keep banking on the looks alone.

Wonderful place. Hidden behind the old walls. Lots of uneven levels though, not easy for those with difficulty walking. Recently refurbished.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night while visiting Toledo. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. You really feel like your traveling in time and staying at a beautiful hacienda. The staff was incredibly friendly and very informative about the surrounding areas and the services they offer. It's located right at the entrance to Toledo's "ancient" city where everything is walking distance. We are definitely staying here again should we return to Toledo and recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
It must be good to be a Cardinal! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this historic property. It is really a beautiful building with large, comfortable, and clean rooms. The hallways are wide and decorated in a fashion that recalls the unique identity of the structure. The breakfast buffet was great and included regional meats and cheeses. While we did not dine in the restaurant, we certainly enjoyed having drinks in the garden. The hotel is In a setting of natural beauty--very green, peaceful, and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is on the edge of the old city of Toledo, which made it very easy to go on tours by foot. We would be very pleased to stay there again!
