Review also posted on Yelp ||Hacienda Del Sol is proof that you don't have to go all grey, clinical, and trendy to do well. Oh, did they ever do well! Personality, charm, and substance is what my two-night stay was about.||The property... oh, the property. What a beaut! I'm from the area, so while I had not ever spent the night, I had certainly visited, and have always thought the environment was beautiful. There's two nice courtyards to choose from--one is more desert-y, and the other, more grassy--both are amazing. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and windy, with grey, cloudy skies, so I could not take full advantage of the grounds. I did spend some time in the beautiful, quaint lobby near the wood-burning fireplace. ||I booked a Sonoran king room (their newer rooms), and was placed in building K, room 605, with a nice view of the Rincons, desert, city lights, and nice homes nearby. The first thing I noticed was that there was a great attention to detail, not only when it came to interior design, but also functionality. There was a neat little shelf in the entry to put keys and wallets, dresser was located in the large walk-in closet, lamps all were equipped with dimmers, all light switches were located next to bed, charger ports were easy to access from nightstand, room had a ceiling fan and air vents could be set to move on their own automatically. Bed was firm, though very comfortable. TV channel lineup choice was well above-average, but was shocked to see no option to view the bill on the TV, streaming services, or in-theater movies. Wi-fi reception wasn't the greatest. Bathroom was generous, stylish, colorful, and had great-smelling bath products and fluffy towels. Only gripe with bathroom was that the toilet had a weak flush, shower stream was on the weaker side, and hot water could have been hotter. Overall, they really knocked it out of the park with the room.||Dining... one of the main things this resort is known for. Yum!!! I ordered room service both nights I was there, and it was always on time and delicious. That salmon and gnocchi dish was to die for. I don't get where the food complaints I was seeing were coming from. ||Service was satisfactory. Front desk personnel had great knowledge about the facility and were very informative. Check-in area was cramped, though with two small desks the size of a restaurant hostess stand with an agent staffing each one. Needless to say, check-in did get backed-up and lengthy. Staff members encountered while walking through the property seemed happy to be there, and would greet you.||I am already looking forward to my next visit.

During our hotel stay every staff member was friendly, courteous, accommodating, and professional. Even while just walking around the property the staff would smile, say hello, and make you feel comfortable. The view from our room was gorgeous and the sunsets from the pool were absolutely stunning. The pools are perfectly heated along with a very relaxing hot tub. The room service was quick and reasonably priced, in addition to having a good variety of snack, drink, and meal options. We certainly plan on visiting here again the next time we're in town.

The rooms are spacious and lovely. We had a great balcony view facing east. Beware of blinding sunrises. Lol. We recommend using one of the hangers with clips to secure the curtains closed. The only issue we experienced was a less than adequate shower head. And although open air showers are beautiful they do absolutely nothing for keeping the heat in. Our room was right next to a pool and hot tub which are perfect for relaxing after a full day of hiking. We did not use the gym below our room but it did seem extremely small for this quality resort. We participated in a wine dinner which delivered the most incredible food we have experienced for an event. Well done Chef Delgado and team! If the food from that event is indicative of the quality of the food every other night it is a restaurant not to be missed. I’d be interested in returning and visiting the spa. Additionally, we loved the history that the resort shares throughout the property. From plaques and stories, to an old library just off the lobby.

My wife and I found our stay at the resort most relaxing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The property itself is very nice, with a very pleasant southwest feel - lots of courtyards, fountains, and various rooms (like a library). It feels like a resort, not a traditional hotel like a Marriott, which we really enjoyed. The restaurant food was quite good, although they seemed understaffed a couple of nights and service was a little on the slow side. The pools and hot tubs were very nice and hardly anyone else was using them. The room itself was spacious with excellent decor. Highly recommended!

A fabulous place to stay with magnificent views of the Catalina Foothills. Amazing wildlife around especially birds in the pristine gardens. We even saw a Bobcat wandering past the window at breakfast. Our room was spacious with patio's to front and back. Very clean, comfortable beds/pillows, and a kettle provided. Good menu's in both restaurants and great bar service too. A special mention to Able one of the valets, he was very friendly and had helpful suggestions. Also Austin in the Terraza, who gave us advice for our visit to Mount Lemmon. A fabulous stay in a fabulous place.

Google
Same as others’ experiences- if this were $200/night would be lovely. We were in a ground floor room in the 400s- with the patio door open constant road noise. Once someone checked in to the room above ours it was untenable and we left early to stay elsewhere. It sounded like someone else was in the room with us- EVERY footstep, drawer opening and closing. As noted by others front desk useless- once reservations phoned me they were no help so we ate the $50 early checkout fee. Even during gem show and Valentine’s Day found a nice hotel for half the price last minute. Must have been lovely here back in the day but housing developments are right up to the property now and road has constant traffic. Finally, was awakened at 1:30am one night by 5 gunshots nearby- I think someone was driving along shooting as I heard more shots a minute later in the distance.

This is our first stay in Tucson, Arizona. We absolutely love the Hacienda del Sol! It feels like an authentic desert oasis. The staff and accommodations are exceptional. We came to visit the Saguaro National Park and the hotel is in a great location for easy access.

Google
We have stayed at the Hacienda Del Sol many times, and just returned from a trip this week. The grounds are simply amazing with desert plantings and beautiful art! The rooms are very nice, with a comfortable chair, beautiful views, very nice and spacious bathroom. There are 3 pools, each with a different feel as well as several public places to sit and enjoy the environment. The staff is welcoming, and servers at the restaurant remember us!

Yelp
We love coming to Hacienda Del Sol for breakfast, the staff is amazing and although it keeps sprawling out and they add more and more casitas, it is somehow so well staffed you don't even realize how big it is.

Yelp
Beautiful property, spacious, comfortable beautifully decorated room including historic photos of Tucson and the property super cool. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, the terraza bar staff friendly and very knowledgeable about their craft dinner at the terrace restaurant was delicious and service was wonderful. Hands down the best anniversary we've had I would recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Came for a small work conference. Great resort, slept well, rooms in the 60-80s with north facing Mountain Views are probably best. Hospitality was great. History (girls boarding school for famous families in the early 20th century showed rich history. Pools are nice but didn't use them in November. A little far away from the city and airport (40 min in traffic). Food was just ok, decent whisky collection but limited wine.

Yelp
Hacienda del sol is hands down my favorite place to stay in Tucson. The rooms are very comfortable and roomy with a perfect southwestern decor and feel that is so perfectly inviting. The property is beautiful with cactus gardens, garden art, several swimming pools and a great courtyard. Walking around the property at night is rejuvenating on so many levels.

Yelp
We live In Tucson. Today we had a resort day pass . We bought a spa day package with credit to the restaurant. We were able to enjoy pool, also enjoyed bar service at the pool . The massage I had was amazing! The spa area is next to the hacienda . After be being pampered, we had lunch at the restaurant. The appetizer chips and salsa guacamole was amazing and worth every penny so fresh and delicious. I had the red chili which came with calabazas and cheese and beans and hot flour tortillas. If you come at 3 - 6 happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers. Wonderful place to have a nice break from life and enjoy this beautiful resort and its history.

Yelp
Stayed for a second time at Hacienda Del Sol. Staff was amazing. Property was gorgeous. And thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Highly recommend this property. If you can stay for more than a few days go for it. You won't regret it. Great value!

Yelp
This is a review of the Hacienda Grill staff. The staff we interacted with are clearly great people. Welcoming and thoughtful, we learned a ton about Tucson and decided to spend two extra days in the city based on their suggestions and enthusiasm. 5 stars, especially Nick in the restaurant and Blue in the gift shop. Nick does it all, friendly informative and pours wine like a magician. Blue knew the background of all the local items in the gift shop and we ended up with some special souvenirs that feel like part of the city. The restaurant is probably 3.75-4 out of 5 for the price point. The property in general is pretty, there are wild critters hopping around which is great, the food is solid and the three course meal is a decent value relative to the a la carte prices. Good view although not having a balcony facing the sunset is disappointing. The menu has a good range including tasty salvadorian bread, the halibut was delicious. The gift shop is tucked away and a hidden gem. This place is near the base of Mt Lemmon which has great hikes, you can drive to the top, and there's snow in May.

Yelp
I would not give a 1-star but that is as low as I can go. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The sheets appeared not to have been changed from the prior guests. We had housekeeping bring us a clean set of sheets, which were not the correct size. They are now bringing us another pair of sheets. The shower is so discolored we decided not to use it. We have 2 dogs with us and this is apparently a "dog" room which has not been adequately cleaned because our dogs are not settling due to sniffing corner to corner. I have never written a review before. This place is disgusting. On a positive note, Miguel, an assistant manager not housekeeping, was very pleasant and changed the sheets himself once the correct size arrived.

Yelp
Incredible thanksgiving buffet with sublime service, great food and ambiance that was perfect!

Arielle R.

Yelp
Everything has been great. The only thing I recommend is having somebody at the bar throughout the week as I've been here every day this week and there was nobody attending to the bar /pool area so towels were lacking and I had to use the number to call for more, which was very convenient. And then the water didn't get a refill for a few days unless it just went that fast which is possible. But on that note, a bartender named Kel was taking care of us on Friday and I don't know how else to put this ...he's amazing ! hacienda is very lucky to have him.

Yelp
To say Hacienda Del Sol is gorgeous is an understatement. It takes the best of the Sonoran desert and packages it so neatly and perfectly that you never want to leave. Breathtaking views of the Catalinas and the city, lush grounds, iconic southwestern style architecture, and adequate acknowledgements of its historical past make this place truly one of a kind. My husband and I have staycationed here twice now and we are looking forward to our next visit. Check in is easy breezy and I love the lobby area. A beautiful living room with a fireplace--which I think is all original from the 1929 construction--a cozy library--be sure to check out the hand carved beams on the ceiling-- and photographs that chronicle the evolution of this place. It started as a school for girls. There are a variety of rooms. My husband and I have stayed in two different areas of the property and both offered aesthetics that are unique to our region of the world. Some rooms even make a nod to movie stars who used stay here--we stayed in the Lee Marvin room. On our second visit we stayed in a room on the west side (2) of the property, which had great views and its own patio area. The pools. Wow. Three gorgeous pools to choose from. You can't go wrong. All offer fantastic views, and the Catalina pool conveniently has a bar on site. The terrazza bar offers daily happy hour and live music. We haven't tried the spa but hope to in the future. There are also conference spaces so this would be an incredible place for a wedding or event. There's also a gift shop with lots of fun items! We picked up board books for my daughter and jewelry for me. I can't say enough good things about this place. It personifies the magic of Tucson and the Sonoran desert and I'm so grateful we have this one of a kind, intimate, and gorgeous resort right in our backyard.

Yelp
I have lived in Tucson for almost 6 years, but have yet to go and visit some of the lodging here in town. I attended their Sonoran summer pool party and I loved every second of it, I did not want to leave. The staff was so friendly, they had so much beautiful seating around their large pool, and the view was the best part. You got to look right out onto the landscape of the Sonoran desert, which I love. They had delicious drinks, amazing food options, and the best music playing. When I think of a summer pool party, this is exactly what I think of.

Yelp
Every year we pick a place for a girls' weekend and we choose this location for this year's memorie maker. We arrived later than we wanted, and after making the two hour drive to the ranch, we finally arrived. When you drive up to the location, you are greeted with a beautiful landscape. The valet is there to meet you and attend to all your needs. We were starving, so we hopped over to the restaurant and where the not so pleasant atmosphere started. We were dressed casually, and the hostess looked us up and down, then rudely asking if we were looking for something more casual. We sat at the darkest and most back table the restaurant. The drinks and food were great, but after giving feedback about our greeting, we had two managers come to the table. The first manager handled it horrible, and the second, he was much more professional. Pros: Landscape areas are beautiful The room was spacious for three and had a great view Cons: Pools were dirty with no service. Staff was cold and unwelcoming for the majority of the stay. The locations tries to play like a resort with high charges, but not a place we would ever return with limited amenities and very low "resort" type feeling.

Alfredo L.

Yelp
This is without a doubt one of the best hotels I stayed in a while. The views are beautiful, the rooms have a vintage feel but they have all of the upgrades of modern hotels. The staff was incredibly courteous. They have 3 pools and my room was close to a kid friendly pool, and my kids had a blast. The rooms were spacious and they had a balcony with a great view. The location of the hotel is great as well. The hotel won't nickel and dime you because the room rate already includes a fee that covers valet, tips, complimentary coffee, tea, etc. They have a texting system that you can text whatever you need and they are fast and very responsive. This is what a hotel should be. I will most likely return to this hotel and I will recommend to friends and family.

Bryan C.

Yelp
Don't sit people in the bar overflow and then expect to charge them 50$ pperson! Plus wait staff was practically non existent. On the plus side less mimosas drank! lol

Stephen S.

Yelp
Really a three and a half rating. Spent four days here on business conference. The people working here are super nice. They provided good service. The food was meh. Plenty of it just not the greatest. The Hotel grounds are OK. Located on a busy road no where to walk to and enjoy scenery. We liked our room. In general a good visit but I can not recommend for a vacation.

Jon D.

Yelp
This review is about the Terrazzo dining room. Fantastic! Had wonderful happy hour and food here. Great service and food, best margaritas in Tucson.

Catherine M.

Yelp
The grounds were lovely and two out of the three meals we had there were good. The Grill restaurant was well appointed with a beautiful view overlooking the city but breakfast our last day there was mediocre at best- the fruit was not ripe and the brown sugar was solidified into clumps. The best thing about our stay were the tunes played by the piano player at the Patio restaurant- just perfect. The room we stayed in was very dark and the furniture was outdated. We had to ask for another lamp in order to see better. The coffee maker was small, could only make one cup at a time and there was no microwave. One of the small over the bed track lights flickered constantly. A handle on the bathroom cabinet door was broken and the room had a musty odor. We had difficulty setting the room heater, apparently the fan was on and not the heater. The string on the light in the closet broke, although this was an unforeseen event the staff had no control over. On the plus side, when we called about all these things we were treated with courtesy and someone was sent to the room to help with these issues. Still, the room definitely needs some TLC and updating. Given the problems we had, this room was overpriced and disappointing.

Magda G.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous property with three pools, one bar attached to one pool, stunning views and sunsets. One or two restaurants. The staff and customer service was superber. Property is really well taken care of. This was a one night birthday gateway for my friend and we arrived little early and enjoyed the empty pool while our room was being prepared. The metal chairs around the pool were very hot and in my opinion another material chairs should be used, you can easily burn your skin on the chairs so be careful, you can drape a beach towel on them but the chairs should be different. The pool area had a small gym that had fresh water and snacs and spacious bathroom. There was also a shower so basically everything that you might need. The main door to the pool was very hard to open and at some point the key card stopped working and we had to call the reception desk to be let in by staff. The pool also had a jacuzzi on the property. We had breakfast on the property and the waitress was fantastic but the coffee was terrible and vegan options were just mediocre or really non existent. It was disappointing that this beautiful property was lacking delicious coffee and at least one yummy vegan option for their guests. The room - the nightly rate was close to $350 and I feel that the rate was too high for what we received, the bday girl wanted an outside shower but we received a room with a shower that was literally on our balcony, not what we had in mind. The room was ok size, there was no loveseat or a couch in the room so both of us can hang out and I feel that the bathroom was so much bigger comparing to the room itself. Since it was my friend's birthday, I thought that maybe the hotel would do something special, they left a happy birthday card and a birthday gift box that has pretzels inside, we had a good laugh about the pretzels, I think hotel can do better. Also, the rug was shedding on one small size and I almost tripped on it, little small things that could have been improved that would have made the different between four and five star hotel.

Kaylee M.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay here. Beautiful property with so much to see. Blue at the front desk was very helpful and went above and beyond to see that a birthday gift was sent to the room for my birthday. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Hacienda Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona was so much more that I imaged. When I booked this place, I thought it would be beautiful and fun. It beat all my expectations. Gorgeous location , nestled in the foothills. Not only does it have everything for a resort lifestyle: spa, pools, restaurants, gardens, etc., but it has history. In the 1920's this 34 acre working ranch was designed as a ranch school for the daughters of the social elite. In 1944 the ranch was redone as a guest ranch. Movie stars came to retreat from Hollywood is this enchanting area. Some rooms adorn movie star names who stayed in them (we stayed in Lee Marvin's room). We were met in reception by Nathan, who assisted us with everything we needed. Our room was updated with the charm and history of the old Southwest. Jeff and I enjoyed a bottle of wine while sitting in one of the many patios available and admired the gorgeous sunset. The bed was very comfortable and the room was toasty warm. In the morning we enjoyed a yummy breakfast at the on-site restaurant. Do yourself a favor a splurge on a second night!

Eva S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with great rooms but very pricey. 5 days will cost over $3000. Nice hotel staff. The restaurant is nothing to brag about. Good expresso coffee and the breakfast is great, not so much the lunch or dinner menu. Overpriced as everything else at this place. It was an okay experience.

Jocelyn S.

Yelp
Just the most sirene resort in Central foothills. My partner and I have been here for many events, and each has been unique and beautiful. Recently, after a long week, we popped in for a drink and a light dinner. We got the burger and tje aquachiles. The aquachiles were perfectly flavored, and the fish was fresh. The burger filled us both and really hit the spot. I wasn't feeling great, and the bartender made me a hot toddy, and it was a perfect night cap. We felt like we got away in just a short dinner time frame.

Yelp
We just returned home from 2 night stay. We were nervous as historic properties can be hit or miss. This was a hit for us. We arrived in the morning of our first day because we had scheduled a couples massage to start off our stay. Our room wasn't ready so we roamed the grounds and enjoyed a breakfast there. The spa is small . The locker room and relaxation are weak, but they are ok. I'd like to highlight our room observations! We stayed in one of the "new" rooms. I wanted a historic room, but we decided we wanted a patio plus the fireplaces in the historic rooms are not currently usable. Things to note in the room we had: A ceiling light and fan Small shelf inside the door for purse and keys Huge closet with a dresser including Robes and plastic/rubber slippers (great for the pool or even shower) The closet had 2 luggage racks!!! So rare! Lighting was amazing!! There were lamps on either side of the bed plus adjustable reading lamps attached to the headboard. There was a floor lamp by the desk:table and a recessed light above the easy chair with an ottoman. There were 4--yes FOUR-- outlets on each side of the bed--and you didn't have to crawl behind a table or anything. The easy chair/ottoman had a side table! The patio had 2 comfortable chairs, a real table (not a small end table) and a lounge chair! The desk/table in the room had 2 chairs! You could actually eat there if you wanted' The bathroom... they thought of everything. Sinks separated . A ledge to put your things so they don't get wet. Lots of outlets. Lighted make up mirror with vanity area and large stool!! Lots of hooks for robes and towels. An amenity kit with make up wipes, qtips, and NAIL FILE!!! (Loved that!) The soap is superior! The lotion , shampoo and body wash are their signature products and very nice. I LOVED the huge shower and all the Mexican tile. The water was hot and pressure was great. I forgot... there was a whole area under the tv with coffee and tea service, a cork screw, water, a good size fridge ... and a small bag of cinnamon nuts... the nuts The valet guys were awesome. The front desk was ok... had a small glitch at the beginning with the front desk, but it was rectified (our only real issue while staying here) The restaurant will have to be a different review. It was good, but the steaks were not prepared med rare as we prefer. We sent ours back and I saw 2 other tables do the same. Everything else was great.

Sharren S.

Yelp
roach infested resort with poor management and overly priced food that is bland and would expect more from a Forbes rated Resort. I was dining in the Grill 9/20 and had seen a roach crawling along the windowsill. The waiter was unfazed by it as they removed it from the room & later brought our food to the table but we weren't really feeling hungry after seeing that. Management never came by to make sure everything was ok. The waiter insisted everything was ok and that they could box the food up for us but we just wanted to leave at that point. We had been staying at the resort for 3 days and decided to get some drinks from the bar and sat in Terraza. The music was SO unbearably loud we had to get up and leave to our room which was right next to the Catalina pool & could still hear the music through the walls to the room. I don't see myself returning to this property and we would always pick this spot over others & had always brought our family here for special events but I don't see us coming back to hds.

Yelp
Sometimes we need to reconnect with ourselves. Remember and rediscover whom you are! You need the right settings for this reconnect. Tucked away in the mountains is a desert oasis. A place to come and unwind, with peace and tranquillity. This slice of heaven sits on a mountain side surrounded by the natural untouched beauty of Tucson, Arizona. When you walk the grounds here it's serene and safe. You can feel the difference from being in the city setting. All that hustle hustle along. Right now we're set on hiatus. When I came through for business this was my place to stay. The ambiance always drew me to this retreat. After a hard day of dealing with clients, this space was a delightful experience of heaven away from home. The building itself is made of an old fashioned style wood construction which over the years has been so loved. You can feel the positive vibes as you make your way through the hotel. Along the way are examples of tokens and trinkets from simpler days. It does not at all feel like a hotel, the adorning of the furniture and d for make this place just "happen and pop." All our lives need purpose; my purpose begins each morning with a short walk and coffee in my hand. Then a trip to the gym. My walk around the property here each morning takes an individual up a hill to a breathtaking view of either the Catalina Mountains or Tucson as far as the eye reaches. As the sun brings her rays of joy over the horizon it's time to begin yet again anew. Coffee in one hand, beauty all around this is how every morning should begin. The Tucson area breathes life every morning as the sun touches the horizon each morn. As the rays stretch across this small mountain valley I sip my coffee and sit next to the water fall in the front of the hotel thinking about the day. What could be more special than moments such as these? After a nice evening of restful sleep, it's time to check out after some breakfast at the insight restaurant. You are also able to have breakfast in your room too. The hotel staff is always nice, they are here to meet your needs. If needed the newspaper is available too. When your ready to check out it's smooth. The ambiance is so amazing, one feels as though they are visiting an old friend or relative. Such a relaxing and merry time, for having to pay for a nights stay. The service and staff are impeccable. All my needs were met and beyond. Hey there, your just sitting around! Go out and explore more. When your in Tucson next time, stop in here for some great relaxation. The vibes here will pull you in from the moment that you get out of your ride. The lobby of the hotel is so serene and quiet. The bar in the lobby always is open with delicious crafted cocktails by the staff. The chefs here will whip up greats eats for you to enjoy next to the huge picture windows. Get away from the norm and take the road far less traveled. Make your happy come tru.

Yelp
We decided to go yo the International Gem & Mineral Show and chose Hacienda Del Sol to stay at. The grounds and rooms are gorgeous. It's in yhe foothills and it's the desert in all its glory! The room was spacious, comfortable and had a great view! The grounds were lovely and there's lot of art sculptures. The room service was OK but we had to ask for salt, pepper and cream for coffee every morning. The rate is costly so I expected more in the service and amenities.

Yelp
Everything was beautiful. Absolutely everything. Relaxing romantic stay. Service is impeccable from start to beginning. Food was DELICIOUS! Vibe is so chill. Definitely going back!

Yelp
We came for brunch today. We had a 12:30 reservation. The brunch was from 10-2 at $50 per person. When we arrived there was barely any prime rib left ( my husband came for this) and there were only six oysters left at the buffet. Never was refilled and we were told it would not be. I feel sorry for anyone that arrived later than us. Over priced for some store bought pastries and hummus. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Stunning gardens and grounds. A favorite spot for dining and photos. We have dined in both the Grill and Terraza, and both have been wonderful. We've also been entertained with live music at the grill. I'm sad to see them building so many new guest buildings though. Takes away from the guest ranch feel and makes it seem like a regular hotel.

Yelp
We went here to the Zin,BBQ and Blues festival. We decided to go for the $65 entrance/ no alcohol and all you can eat BBQ. First impression, not very well organized. We did a 30 minutes wait just to check in and pay for our tickets, another 30 minutes waiting in line to get our food while my friend was looking for a table. Everything was full, luckily they opened up the pool area and we got a table far away from the music. The food overall was good but the desserts were average. I ordered a Margarita at the bar that the nice bartender recommended, a Cadillac he said. For $20 I got a very sweet and strong drink that I had to dilute with water in order for me to drink it haha. The weather and music were perfect, too bad they didn't had enough places to seat.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW!!!! I happened to stumble across this place looking for a place to stay for our anniversary. I wanted to check out Saguaro National Park and this resort was close enough. From the minute we pulled up to getting out of the car walking around the property I was in awe. Such a beautifully landscaped property. Our room was clean and well maintained with a great view. The bed was comfortable enough. It was truly relaxing staying here. All the pools were nice except for one looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while (it was green). We found one that was nice and sparkling clean overlooking the golf course. The bar there had a fantastic Miami vice (if they have it while you're there GET IT! I've never had one that good) We enjoyed our time at the pool and relaxing in the tucson sun. The restaraunts were out of this world good continuing the theme of fantastic scenery and atmosphere. Everyone I encountered that worked here seemed happy and were so pleasant to talk to. I definitely plan on coming back to this resort again for other anniversaries/occasions. They truly made it special. I can see why they have so many weddings going on here it would make for stunning photos. It would be a great place for numerous occasions. The price is completely worth it! The hotel rates are reasonable for such a beautiful location. Thank you for such an amazing place to create wonderful lasting memories.

Yelp
Review is for a Terrazza Lounge dinner. The grounds are nice. The cocktails were solid. The entree was not good. "10oz center cut strip steak, chimichurri, thick-cut fries Steak frites with thick cut fries". Zero chance it was 10oz it was over cooked literally no sauce and handful of bad shoestring fires. It was bad just come on it's $42 and I expect a little more from this restaurant. It just seemed like whoever prepared the plate cares zero about it.

Yelp
This is a great resort for the weekend, staycation or couples retreat. I would highly recommend not getting the suite to save you some $$. Costs are between $100-400 a night plus a resort fee of $29 which includes access to the spa, jacuzzi, pool, etc. The couples massages were great, and a super way to start the vacation. I was upcharges for a deep tissue of $30. we were told to get in our robes and then meet in the lobby for our couples massages however unfortunately this weekend there was a wedding going on so we had to walk through the reception area in our robes after our massages as there was no short cut. I hope I don't become a photo bomb in somebody's wedding. The staff are friendly but slow. One example is we were notified to pay via the room however received a voicemail after massages asked how we would pay. Went to front desk multiple times to have them not charge the card on file. Another example was.in the gift shop the credit card machine was down and the woman in front offered to pay in cash but the staff rejected the cash and spent 15 min fixing the machine. The room came with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and some vanity amenities. However, in the bedroom there was a temperature light was almost as bright as a room.light to illuminate everything in the room with no way to turn it off. We fixed it by throwing a towel over it in the middle of the night. The bed was super comfy and definitely a king size bed. The front door window security latch was broken. However. Minor inconveniences don't detract from the experience.

Yelp
It was so relaxing. I was so surprised that looking out at mountains in a desert landscape could be so calming. Will definitely plan to come back.

Yelp
Love to visit the bar here.Adam the bartender is very attentive and very help with suggestions based on what you like. He might even make you a special drink if you tell him some flavor profiles you like. I always love to try there rotating crafted cocktails. They have a good wine menu as well. We were given this delicious jalapeño chocolates when we left that were super yummy too. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Beautiful resort with a strong Southwestern theme. The Hacienda room was nice and spacious with lots of nice accents, like bottled water, candied nuts, full-size toiletries, and bathrobes. We could text guest services with any questions which was great. A noteworthy part of the experience was spending time at the Catalina pool and hot tub. It was a great place to watch the sunset. I did think the experience was generally quite expensive with some hidden fees (ordering two drinks to the pool came out to $40 before tip) and the quality of breakfast could have been better. Overall, I still recommend!

Yelp
Went to the spa here and did a package where you got a 60 min massage, 30 minute leg scrub and access to the facilities. The massage and leg scrub service was amazing, the masseuse (Sylvia I think?) had a very relaxed and welcoming demeanor. I told her I was a bit ticklish and wanted a relaxing massage (some places really want to kill you and work out knots) and she applied the perfect amount of pressure - I kept fading in and out of sleep I was so relaxed. The facilities were clean but the waiting area is essentially the lobby and it feels kind of awkward being in your robe there. Would have been nice to have a wet and/or dry sauna, but they do have an outdoor hot tub that has great views.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here last Saturday. We stayed in room 408. We were woken up around 6 am by noise upstairs and it continued until I called the office around 10 am. It sounded like construction and then vacuuming. When I called the office they said the guests upstairs were leaving. But then the vacuuming started. When I said it sounded like construction, they said they weren't doing construction on that room. While my husband and I were leaving I saw a stick on the ground that had obviously been used to stir purple paint, the same color that was on the ceiling in our room. So pretty much our 22 wedding anniversary was ruined and we had to go home to get sleep for several hours as we were exhausted! Also this was our second time staying here and the beds are VERY uncomfortable. My back was killing me. Also we were supposed to have a mountain view, per the pictures of our room online. We had a view of the road and when we went on the balcony all we could hear, see and smell were cars. We will not be going back.

Yelp
Planned to spend my 68th Birthday here. August 24th & an additional day to celebrate recovering from illness. Very excited! Made reservations on 3rd party site, called & talked to guest service to make sure I got what I wanted & hours before arrival we are told we lost the mountain view because we did not pay an extra $20. MISLEADING is the only way I can describe the entire incident. Thankfully, the 3rd party booking service saved the day. This hotel lost a customer for 2 nights, a small gathering of friends that were going to surprise me at their restuarant & there is absolutely no chance anyone I know will ever stay there. Disappointed for my 68th. Own it Del Sol.

Yelp
One of the best Sunday brunch spots I have ever been to. The food stations are amazing, including fresh oysters, smoked salmon, omelettes, and desserts. The view is stunning, and Nick was a perfect server!!!!

Yelp
Stayed at the Hacienda the week of 8/1/2023 for the first time and had to write my first review ever because it was memorable in numerous ways. I enjoyed my stay due to the exceptional staff, from the restaurant hosts waiters, pool service, gardeners, housekeeping and the people at the front desk! Everyone was welcoming, down to earth, informed, friendly and could not do enough to help. The resort is well maintained and charming. The views are wonderful from the sunrises to the sunsets. I think you will totally enjoy your stay!

Yelp
We attended the Zin/Blues/BBQ Sunday night at Hacienda 10/17/21... it was a disappointing mixed bag and therefor can not recommend it in the future. For $65 (food only) or $85 (included Zinfandel wine/tastings) the event was promoted as a 3-hour (5-8pm) live blues and bbq buffet. However, based on venue size and available tables, the event was oversold by approximately 100. Such were the rumors throughout the night by both staff and patrons. We arrived around 5:10pm and there was a long line that we/others estimated to be 120-140. It took 30 minutes to reach the entrance/cashiers and by that point we were learning that more than 200 people had reserved spots (credit card required). Once paid, we entered the small outdoor courtyard where the stage was. A quick scan revealed that every table was taken and the occupancy of the courtyard was less than 100. We entered an equally long line of patrons waiting to reach the buffet tent. It took another 40 minutes to get our first plate. During this time the staff was scrambling to find more table acreage - they opened the small pool deck which had 4 tables (seating 16 more people) and added tables way beyond the courtyard and inside the main dining room as well. While admirable, it was immensely disappointing as scores of patrons were relegated to locations where one could barely hear the band, never mind see them. And many opted to sit on makeshift benches or planters or stand. It was also disappointing because (as many people groused aloud) with reservations guaranteed by credit card (which would be billed if you no-showed) Hacienda was astutely aware of the attendance nightmare awaiting them for deliberately overbooking the event. The food was above average but not up to "Hacienda" standards: Compared to their $40 Sunday brunches (which recently reopened after an 18 month pandemic hiatus to a new price that increased by 20% to $50/person), the quantity and quality fell below that par. There were only two main meat entrees - brisket and pork ribs/shredded pork - and two seafood entrees - small grilled salmon squares and shrimp w/ grits. The ribs ran out about halfway but there was ample shredded pork. The additional Brisket that arrived halfway clearly hadn't been braised for very long as it was tough, despite also being near-rare. The side dishes were limited to grilled squash, potato salad, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. There was a promising bean/pork soup but exactly zero people got any because only plastic plates were provided (no bowls). Desserts were modest and included roughly half of what the Sunday brunch typically might but this included tasty dark/espresso cake balls, lemon and almond cookies, and some chocolate and brûlée mousse cups. If I'm being candid, there are better options for a meat-fest that also includes terrific vegetable/appetizer options (Churrasco Brasil comes to immediate mind). Towards the end of the event (7:45p) we were finally able to migrate from an off-venue table to the courtyard where one two-seater had opened and we listened to and saw the band for the first time. This is going to sound harsh but I've mulled this for a couple of days and it really is my honest observation. The blues band consisted of five white men over 60. While certainly in tune with their guitar and lyrics it was utterly without emotion. There was nothing sad or visceral about this "blues!" It might be unfair for me to compare them to the huge archive of blues music I own or to the bands I've seen live in Detroit and Chicago while living there, but this was, in a phrase, elevator blues... competent, yes, but soulless. And I mean that both figuratively and literally (if you catch my meaning). I have heard good jazz/blues in Tucson, not just at concert halls like the Rialto or Club Congress but also at more modest venues like Plush (since closed). Yes, it's a little harder to find it in the desert but with a take of $15k+ for the night, it should have been more... authentic. Believe it or not, I'm still a fan of Hacienda. Its daytime and evening vistas are stunning; the grounds and dining rooms are elegant; the parking is accommodating while somehow managing to also be attractive and inviting with its artwork; and the staff are consistently, impeccably gracious. Alas, the consequences for overbooking - and underpreparation - landed squarely on the frustrated shoulders of too many patrons when it should have instead been shouldered by management who had ample notice of how many seats it allowed to be sold.

Yelp
I was so excited for our weekend staycation at Hacienda. While I'd visited several times for weddings, networking events and meals, this was my first time as a hotel guest. Checked in - I'm quite sure I reserved and paid for a king room, but we were put into one with two queens in the "historic" section. Honestly, it was like calling a 1989 Honda Civic vintage. We could hear everything our neighbors said and did, and the furniture looked more than a little shabby. The lamp and charging station on the desk were nonfunctional, and I did try plugging them into two of the other power strips lying around the room (lots of power strips and electrical cords around, none tidily secured). Lighting was dismal- good thing nothing in our weekend required applying makeup, as there was nowhere with proper light to do so. Also nowhere for two people to sit together other than a bed- the room was spacious but had a desk with one chair and a single armchair. The bathroom was also poorly thought out. It had a large SE facing frosted window with no covering, and so from the moment the sun rose, blinding light filled the room if anyone opened the bathroom door. We also never received housekeeping service, even though the only time we had the "do not disturb" sign out was while we showered and changed after a fairly early breakfast. Yet, we still had to pay the daily $29 resort charge for the valet, bottled water and housekeeping "tips" none of which we ever used/received. Meals weren't great either, and we ended up cutting the trip a bit short rather than studying for the $50/head brunch buffet, figuring it would be more of the same. Overall it was very disappointing and I can't imagine returning.

Yelp
Really nice hot tub and pool- more than one on site. Great couple of restaurants, Terraza Lounge- Get the steak nachos. We had them twice. Fun unique bar drinks. The view is beautiful, up in the hills looking down at the city lights and mountains. There is truly a calm energy and calming vibes on this property to relax into.

Yelp
You definitely have to pay more for a better experience and quality of room. Cheapest rooms will get you an old springy mattress, aging and tacky furniture, and a wall A/C unit that is unbearably loud. The decor of the resort still leans heavily on its heyday with throwbacks to old hollywood cowboys with the rustic wood furniture and faux southwest aesthetic. The food from the restaurants is high priced, as should be expected these days, but not very impressive or appetizing. Our room service order from the cafe restaurant was underwhelming and my tacos were lukewarm. My wife could not order anything off the menu such as a simple salad. The best part of the resort are the three pool areas (if there aren't obnoxious people taking selfies and talking loudly ) and gardens which have decent views of the santa catalina mountains. I've been to the newer casitas recently and the experience was far better. Despite everything the staff were very friendly and welcoming, but some are visibly strained by the stress of working under COVID. My advice is to go in the off season when there are fewer annoying people and they have better deals on room prices.

Yelp
It's always GREAT revisiting an amazing establishment that has maintained it's traditional values.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! When you drive up it not much to look at. As you proceed to walk the grounds, wow! Stunning and gorgeous. Customer service was top notch. Pros: -Food was delicious -Grounds are beautiful and clean -Catalina room was clean and lovely -Patio is beautiful with butterflies and singing birds Cons: -bedding smelled like bleach -a lot of bugs in the pool- but then again, you're in Catalina Footlhills
