What a gorgeous place this is...certainly one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. The whole hacienda was so comfortable and stylishly appointed, with ample common space to gather in around a roaring log fire. Our room was spacious, with its own log fire and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a horseback ride (even though it was in thunderous rain and hailstones) and there are also hiking trails around the property. Friends who took advantage of the spa facilities loved their massage. The dinner and breakfasts served in the restaurant were delicious and well priced. All in all, one of these properties that you don't forget...

Honestly this place deserves a five star rating, as the activities they offer for these plains are clearly exciting and very interesting. My family went horseback riding, and it was fun with our guide, but it was a bit disappointing since storms came in and blocked our view of the Cotopaxi. Despite that, it was a very exciting ride. The road to the hotel is bumpy, but that doesn't mean it makes the review worse. The staff here are also very kind and helpful with any questions and such.

Traveling from Quito Airport in private transport to Machachi, it took us just 1.5 hours to reach what became one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives! Hacienda El Porvenir is not just a place to stay—it’s an immersive journey into nature, tradition, and serenity. From the aroma of wood to the peaceful escape from routine, every moment here feels special. Having worked in tourism for many years, I can confidently say that Hacienda El Porvenir has redefined the essence of hospitality. The passion and dedication of the staff are truly remarkable. Everything is impeccably clean, and their commitment to preserving the environment and local culture is evident in every detail. Upon arrival, we indulged in a relaxing spa experience for a small fee, enjoying the traditional Temazcal (sweat lodge). Later, we had a cozy dinner in our room, where our beds were thoughtfully warmed with hot water bottles, and a kind staff member ensured our fireplace remained lit throughout the night. The next morning, we woke up to an awe-inspiring view of the Cotopaxi Volcano—a sight that simply takes your breath away. After breakfast, we participated in the Chagra experience, where we helped take the horses to the base camp. Following this, we enjoyed a fresh, locally sourced breakfast, then spent some time feeding the llamas, which was both funny and heartwarming. Next, we set off on a scenic two-hour horseback ride through the vast Porvenir property. Our local guide was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, making the journey even more enriching. After the ride, we returned to enjoy a delicious lunch, feeling grateful for every moment spent at this incredible hacienda. More Than Just a Stay—An Unforgettable Journey Hacienda El Porvenir is more than words can express. If you’re looking for a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience, whether for yourself or to surprise someone special, this is the place to be. Go, live the adventure, and create memories that will last a lifetime!

This is a beautiful Hacienda near the Cotopaxi Nation Park. We loved staying here. The rooms were charming and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely view of farmland with horses, llamas and a short drive to the Andes and volcanoes. This was a wonderful adventure.

A unique experience on the foothills of Cotopaxi mountain and Reserva Ecologica. We have come multiple times and the service and food are exceptional.

All I have to say is bravo. I am an extremely difficult person to please and this place went above and beyond. I normally stay at the four seasons or Marriott properties and nothing comes close to this place. The staff was so helpful and wonderful. The management was always there as well. The food was amazing and everything on point, clean and on time. Hot showers and good WiFi. The spa is 5 stars and wonderful. Plenty of other activities on the 2200+ acres of land and horse back riding. Will be back again and already referred others who will be there this week that are visiting Ecuador as well. Thanks y’all and much love from Emily and Mike from Austin, TX

Would try to make a fair review of what the stay was on a recent visit this October 2024.|Facilities are clean and very modern, if you deceide to stay overnight be prepared to spend a cold night (heating systems either fireplace or coil could be upgraded) .... it will get cold at night.|The highlight of the visit was the horseback ride, very friendly guide and breathtaking view of the Cotopaxi montain (and other hills on the area).|The lowlight of the visit was the administrative staff in the front. There seems to be some discrepancy of pricing between Quito office and the mountain, however it is unacceptable to spend over 600USD on 1 day to be insulted, in their words "educating the customer" and hearing a nitpicking of everything my family had been doing while trying to enjoy the sat (guy in curly hair and glasses should be sacked right away!).|Experience is worth it, but do yourself a favor and try to go to another hacienda nearby, as the experience with this rude staff will overshadow everything you have done before

We had a great time in this Hacienda. The dinner was excellent and our room quite comfortable. Also a great relaxing massage. Just to recommend
