We had a fantastic stay at Hacienda El Porvenir with our kids (ages 5 & 7)! We weren’t sure if it would be kid-friendly, but it completely exceeded our expectations… so much so that we extended our stay. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and very flexible with scheduling activities around our family’s pace.||Our kids loved every minute: the 2-hour horseback ride was the perfect length (gentle horses, beautiful views, and a wonderful guide, Gabriel, who told fun local legends and kept the kids engaged). Feeding the animals and learning to lasso were big highlights, and the cooking class was hands-on and fun for the whole family. While the kids played or rested, we enjoyed a relaxing massage.||We also felt incredibly lucky to spot 6 condors and even a rare white-tailed deer during one of our rides; an unforgettable moment! The proximity to Cotopaxi is breathtaking, you’re truly immersed in the landscape.||The food was delicious and the rooms were cozy and warm, perfect after a day in the cold mountain air.||Highly recommend for families looking for a unique, nature-filled adventure that’s both fun and relaxing!

This hacienda stay was a highlight of my trip to Ecuador. The location is stunning, the food and activities on offer are excellent, and the staff are brilliant. The hacienda itself is charming and very relaxing - I had fun exploring the rooms and the detailed art works and furniture that make the hacienda so cosy. The restaurant proudly serves local cuisines, and the service there is excellent. The spa is very relaxing with lovely views. It’s very easy to unwind there. The hosts are attentive, friendly, fun and caring from the moment you walk in. They remember you by name, which is a nice personal touch throughout your stay. The staff are very attentive to your rooms, adding hot water bottles between your sheets and lighting the fires in the bedrooms while you are having dinner (it was a nice surprise to return to after my meal). My only small issue is the location can be hard to get to if you don’t have a car, so plan ahead (not all taxis or Ubers will take you the full way, even if they say they can - I didn’t know this at the time). But that was my mistake! My only regret was staying one night instead of a few!

Wow!!! This is one of the best places and experiences I had in my life. First and foremost the people, from Rafa the manager who welcomed us and was so friendly, service oriented and informative. But all the hosts in this place, including the hourse guide Miguel, the cooking lesson teacher, the cleaning staff, the restaurant team - all of them are amazing! The rooms are perfect! With an extra thought and even the little things that makes you feel and experience the local kind and warm welcome attitude. We took a hourse trip which was the highlight of the stay, and for the equador overall experience.

Hacienda El Porvenir was the best stay out of our entire mountaineering adventure through Ecuador. The rooms are cozy, unique (all different), and very comfortable & clean. El Porvenir offers an incredible level of luxury in the Andes. The spa is wonderful, massages are great and well-priced, and the common areas are inviting and nice. The food is top notch, Xavier is a great server, very high quality take-away lunches for the mountains, and a delicious restaurant. Above all, the service is impeccable. The staff are kind, attentive, and offer an unmatched level of service. A special thank you Matias for extending your hospitality to our group. I highly recommend El Porvenir for what will undeniably be your best stay in the Andes.

Our standard room was small - I should have upgraded. And the space heater kept the bedroom heated but the bathroom was frigid. That said, the services (massage, Cotopaxi tour, horseback riding) were excellent and the restaurant was terrific. Every staff member made us feel at home. So while I think hair dryers (and robes, given the cold) should be provided, I will still remember this hacienda fondly.

Horse riding is only for beginners… If you are experienced, it’s boring. The horse guide is not speaking English, it was not possible to communicate during our trip with him :( The rooms were nice, only a little bit cold. Good food, cozy fireplaces

What a gorgeous place this is...certainly one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. The whole hacienda was so comfortable and stylishly appointed, with ample common space to gather in around a roaring log fire. Our room was spacious, with its own log fire and tea/coffee making facilities. The staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a horseback ride (even though it was in thunderous rain and hailstones) and there are also hiking trails around the property. Friends who took advantage of the spa facilities loved their massage. The dinner and breakfasts served in the restaurant were delicious and well priced. All in all, one of these properties that you don't forget...

This hacienda is amazing ! . It is a 5 th generation working farm , which some people need to keep in mind when booking . But it is in the foothills of Cotapaxi, the most beautiful live snow capped volcano you can ever see . The service from all the team is second to none , from the general manager who is delightful to Gloria who runs breakfast brilliantly . And last but not least the quality of the food for dinner is outstanding . Produced all sourced locally including many fruits and vegetables I have never even heard of . Will definitely return
