We had a great experience. The food was really delicious. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Personnel were attentive. Coffee also delicious. only thing I would have liked was some typical music to match the setting. Music at the restaurant was very pleasant though and at the proper volume so one can chat. Overall very nice and we hope to return soon.

Google
LOVELY place. We did the coffee tour and María was the absolute tour guide. You could tell she loved the coffee making process and had a lot of pride in the business. 75 minutes for a comprehensive tour. Restaurant was also great. Good food and everyone was very nice and helpful.

Google
This was a pleasant surprise. I originally went for the coffee tour but arrived a bit late, so I had the chance to explore the local area, which is quite beautiful. The coffee was excellent, but the food was definitely a standout! Every bite was fantastic. The overall vibe was classic Puerto Rico, complemented by great service. I would definitely return.

The atmosphere at Hacienda Muñoz is absolutely stunning peaceful, beautifully maintained grounds and lush green landscapes that make for a perfect escape from the city. The coffee? Next level. You can really tell they take pride in every step of the process, from bean to cup. Unfortunately, our experience at Yeya’s didn’t match the quality of the rest of the hacienda. The service felt sloppy and inattentive, coffee was brought out before sugar was even on the table, and the desserts were served without spoons. The food came out cold and underwhelming. As a Puerto Rican, I was hoping for bold, authentic flavors but sadly, it just didn’t deliver. Still, Hacienda Muñoz is worth the visit for the coffee, the scenery, and the experience. Just wish the food lived up to the rest.

Google
Stunning vistas and outstanding coffee at this one-of-a-kind family-owned plantation, roastery, and restaurant. True PR coffee. Take the tour! Our guide, Maria, was informative, friendly, and so funny. Spanish and English tours available. We enjoyed an iced latte and quesito beforehand. The tour ended with a sampling of their coffees, and we purchased several bags of beans. We walked up through the fields and took in panoramic views of surrounding hills and tropical forest. Peacocks and Puerto Rican iguanas running about the hacienda. We ate at Yiya’s restaurant after the tour, where a number of coffee-themed items are offered. The coffee sauced pork ribs and coffee flan were out of this world. What a pleasant way to pass an afternoon.

Google
What an amazing experience!! My family and I learned a lot about COFFEE. I highly recommend the tour at 10am. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Their coffee is 100% Puertorican and very good.

Google
Ate lunch after taking a tour the grounds. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The ribs were amazing! If you want to learn how coffee is produced, highly recommend taking the tour and getting food from the restaurant afterwards. There is also a coffee bar onsite.

Yelp
Incredible coffee and one of the highlights of my Puerto Rico trip! The hacienda has a small coffee shop with outdoor seating. The shop also showcases their roasting process and if you do their hacienda tour, you get a small tasting of their coffee at the end. We ended up purchasing a bag of coffee to bring back home of my favorite roast: East Harvest Yellow Honey Method Specialty Coffee. It was smooth and there was no need to add any sugar to it when prepared. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the coffee making process, and were super gracious. Overall: I definitely recommend stopping by if you enjoy coffee. The grounds are beautiful and you can enjoy the coffee shop or the sports bar restaurant that they also have onsite after the tour!

Yelp
Ambiance is without words because this place is just breathtaking. Service is great. The traditional meals are all amazing. But make sure to do the coffee tour, It's kind of what they are known for.

Yelp
We love Puerto Rican coffee at home so we knew we needed to stop at a coffee shop farm while visiting Puerto Rico! Hacienda Muñoz came up on our search. Hacienda Munoz coffee farm offers tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They offer both English and Spanish tours. English tours are at 10am. Tours are first come first serve and cost $20 per person (though with how large our group was it seems like there is no cap). Be prepared to walk uphill in hot sun for the tour, this would not be a good activity for elderly or small children. Someone actually passed out in my tour group. At the end of the tour you get to try one shot of espresso, I was hoping to try multiple blends of their coffee at that price point, but the espresso was smooth and flavorful. The coffee farm also hosts an event venue, restaurant, coffee shop and bar. The grounds are beautiful with their own peacocks and chickens roaming. It is definitely worth stopping by for the coffee and if you are a coffee lover and want to learn a little more about their process on the farm definitely stop by.

Yelp
Really nice place! We visited on a Wednesday (so we were unable to do a coffee tour as these are only offered Fridays and weekend), and enjoyed an early dinner at their restaurant. The restaurant has beautiful décor and a patio like atmosphere- you are dining inside a covered pavilion but there are no windows and plenty of open access to the outdoors. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the coffee plantation as well as the local birds nesting in the trees. For the meal, we enjoyed some fried cheese as an appetizer. Very tasty and a generous portion. My love enjoyed a huge rack of ribs, while I opted for shrimp in coconut sauce, one of the specialties of the house. The food was excellent and generously portioned. While the food was very reasonably priced, we felt they overcharged us on the wine which was $14 for a small pour- and we each had two glasses. The price of this supposedly house wine was never disclosed to us and we assumed it would be much more reasonable, considering it was the house option. Regardless, we really enjoyed our meal and the food, atmosphere and service were top notch. Only really detracting a star due to pricey wine of an undisclosed price. Unlike some other coffee plantations we visited, this location was easily accessible, not too far from the highway, and offered nice, ample, lot parking. If you want to enjoy some great coffee without doing a long trip to the mountains, this would be a great option.

Yelp
I thought this was going to be better than it was, we did the coffee tour but it's basically walking up the little hill and down, you don't get to see the process, they tell you about it. We stopped at the bar to get a bit to eat. The food was good, they had their own beer which was delicious. The place had a little shop where you can buy coffee and merchandise.

Yelp
Great experience! I attended the 10am coffee tour in English and was glad I arrived a little early to relax and enjoy the scenery first because after the tour, the Hacienda was crowded! The tour offered a great bit of information on coffee growing and local growing challenges. There's a small sampling of coffee at the end of the tour, but also more available for purchase along with the unique coffee beer available on site. My dog was welcome on the tour, even as one of the guests was afraid of the dog so we just distanced ourselves apart during the tour. It was also very hot in the sun, so I was glad to have extra water on hand for myself and the dog because only half of the 60min tour had shaded spots for resting.

Yelp
Beautiful area, BORING presentation! Was excited to visit a coffee hacienda (plantation) and observe first hand how coffee is grown in Puerto Rico. The Hacienda is very beautiful located in mountainous region of San Lorenzo. Scheduled tour for 3 :00pm started almost an hour late with a group of about 75 people left standing in the hot Puerto Rico sun. Saw nothing up close out on the hacienda, but instead "listened" (guide did not speak loud enough for entire group to hear. Only a handful of people directly in front of guide could hear) to a long tedious talk about the history of coffee making. We walked up several rather steep, wet, slippery hills (one group member even slipped on wet leaves) at different times while the talking continued on and on. There was never an opportunity to observe a coffee plant or look at things up close--just constant talking with little concern for people on the tour standing in sun. Why do all the walking and climbing if there nothing to see. . The only thing we did see were idle, dirty, cobweb covered machines that supposedly process the beans. It would improve the tour to do less talking and provide more hands-on experiences. At the end of tour received a tablespoon of lukewarm coffee to try in bean roasting area as talking continued, was bitter, not good and made me not want to purchase any. Lot of different plants growing on hacienda however guide never mentioned them that I am aware of. Looked like growing plantanes, coco trees, coconuts, pineapple and papayas Guides need to have a microphone or something, tour extremely boring when you can't hear what's being said. Food in restaurant was cold and service extremely slow. If you do not speak Spanish most wait staff won't help you. Skip this very expensive experience unless you enjoy standing in hot humid conditions pretending to be interested.

Yelp
We enjoyed visiting this coffee hacienda and associated restaurant--Yiya restaurant--where we had an early dinner. It's a beautiful complex in a San Lorenzo coffee plantation where Puerto Rican coffee is cultivated, harvested, and processed into artisanal coffees. We enjoyed a Tempranillo wine in the deck of the restaurant with verdant views and lots of singing birds in full view. For an appetizer we sampled their quesitos con salsa de guayaba(cheese cubes with guava sauce) a nice counterpoint to the tannic tones of our wine. I also sampled their soup of the day which was a garbanzo and chicken soup. For entrees I ordered the cerro de costillas (half rack of baby back ribs with honey mustard sauce) and a tomato and green salad. My better half ordered a coconut sauce shrimp with rice. We loved the food and the dessert (budín de queso) and the excellent service. Our only concern was the overpriced wine at $14 a small pour, but the price of the food items was reasonable.

Yelp
Excellent cafe that also sells coffee beans, syrups, mugs, and other souvenirs! I believe there's also a restaurant, but I only went and enjoyed the cafe side. Grabbed a small sandwich and empanada to enjoy with my coffee and such beautiful views of the island's nature!

Omar G.

Yelp

Yelp
The area is beautiful and the coffee is amazing. We didn't get to do the tour due to a group having reserved the facility, but we took some postcard worthy photos.

Yelp
We ordered coffee and a pastry. Good to taste, not very fresh, maybe because of the humidity. The place is gorgeous and the girls in the coffee shop are very nice. We went with our dogs and it's wonderful to see that they welcomed us all with open arms. I will be back.

Yelp

Yelp
This was the first time we went on the coffee tour. It's very interesting and worth the drive up. Maria the guide is awesome!! She is very knowledgeable and personable. Made the tour fun. The little snack shop is good, but they need more help. Unfortunately after 40 minutes waiting for a sandwich I asked for a refund. The Chia tea was very good though! It's worth a trip to see.

Yelp
A beautiful place set among the foothills in Puerto Rico. With the coffee plants growing upon the hills behind you, the open air area of the restaurant is just beautiful! The service was excellent. They provide the menu in both English and Spanish. I had the coffee glazed ribs that day. They were great. I would have preferred a rub versus a sauce but I definitely like them regardless. I ordered an off menu item called mayling, which is a root like a potato or yucca but slightly sweeter & with a purple hue. Of course being a coffee grower/producer, I had to order the espresso martini which was fabulous! I would definitely return anytime I visit Puerto Rico! One of my favorite parts of my trip along with the coffee tour. This is owned by a local family & you can definitely tell they put their heart & soul into their business. Just wonderful all around! Kids are welcome. However, adults don't forget the newer bar area!

Yelp
Such a lovely place. A friend recommended Hacienda Muñoz and it didn't not disappoint. We took the tour in English with a very lively and entertaining young lady who walked us through the history of the place, the history of coffee and the process of making coffee. We had a few cups of their coffee and pastries. Will definitely plan on returning on a future visit.

Jacqueline G.

Yelp
I enjoy very much the outdoor dining the beautiful view of the coffee plantation and the must have coffee, the reason I go there for. The small coffee shop Nextdoor is a must seat outside and enjoy a coffee before the tour and see the coffee getting process. The tour is a big hike up the mountainside so be ready to hike it up.
google avatar

Eva D.

Yelp
We stopped by only for coffee and it didn't disappoint. What a beautiful property with open spaces all around. Nature at its finest! The coffee was delicious and I walked out with a few pounds of coffee that will be heading to Texas. We didn't partake on any of the tours, but just the scenery and the vibe was enough to have a relaxing time of conversation with the family. Downs: the cashier was very unwelcoming and borderline rude, that set a bad vibe to the visit. the German Shepherd mix dog tied to your "caseta" was another let down, your roosters looked happier. You can do better than that. I am only visiting family and will most likely never visit again. However, I am sure my mom and her gang of senior girls will be heading that way often.

Pete M.

Yelp
Great coffee tour! Learned a ton about coffee in Puerto Rico while walking through the Hacienda's beautiful grounds. Also, our tour guide Maria Gabriella was fantastic. She is so knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Grounds are beautiful with rolling hill, can spot peacocks in the garden. Careful the tour is only in Spanish though. Coffee was fantastic

Wanda g.

Yelp
Beautiful view, loved the coffee and service. Will visit again. You must try their beer.

Yelp
Coffee is great but their breakfast menu was not very impressive. Gluten free options would be appreciated.

Yelp

Yelp
I love their coffee and it was not my first time there. The coffee tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. After the tour we had lunch at the restaurant's terrace. Big mistake, it was so hot and humid, unbearable. Food was just ok, appettizers were better. Too many flies around.

Peter C.

Yelp
Had some tapas that included cheese and sausage, both were very good. The sangria was also very good

Eric R.

Yelp
Been to Puerto Rico several times but never knew about this place. Great spot. We came here 3 times during our week vacation. Once for the tour, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Good tour of the plantation, beautiful views, friendly staff, good coffee and great food in the restaurant. Definitely a great hidden spot worth visiting.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
We stopped in for coffee and breakfast before a tour. The service was efficient, pleasant, and helpful. The coffee and food at the coffee shop were good, and the terrace seating was lovely.

Karen ..

Yelp
My family and I visited San Juan and the coffee tour at Hacienda Muńoz was definitely on the list based on the reviews. We are are so glad we did the tour because we had an amazing experience with our host. She was an absolute delight and passionate about PR and the coffee. The small café had excellent pastries and of course we loved the coffee. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jana S.

Yelp
We came here for a tour of the coffee plantation and for my husband to taste the coffee. We had a really wonderful tour of the copy growing area, an explanation of how coffee is grown, and processed. Then we decided to stay for lunch at the restaurant. This food gets a 10 out of a 10 from me! It's an open air restaurant, they have some beer flavored with coffee, which my husband says is yummy. Also have wine and other drinks selections. Beautiful outdoor the decor is beautiful, the view is beautiful, everything is wonderful. My husband is having a steak and cheesy rice, I am having grilled chicken with vegetables, rice, and beans. The beans are great, the chicken and vegetables are also great. Definitely worth the drive to get here!

David R.

Yelp
Absolutely exceptional tour and coffee. So informative and so delicious all around. I want to go back every time I visit PR

Yelp
Beautiful coffee farm with chickens, peacocks, and open air restaurant. The food was ok but I expected better for some reason, though the flan de coco is very good. We did the tour and it was great. The guide was very detailed, answered all questions and more. The tour guide even spent more time with us than expected. We didn't feel rushed at all. The coffee is delicious. Worth a trip if you're in the area.

Yelp
This place is really a hidden gem. I wouldn't have known about this place if it weren't for my coworkers. I have been to Puerto Rico for pleasure before but I don't think I would of ever ventured out this far. This place is quite magical, it's one of my favorite places to eat when I'm on the island. The ambiance is just absolutely incredible here, you'll feel like you are in a tropical rain forest. First time coming here I was greeted by a lovely beautiful peacock just wandering around the parking lot followed by my chickens running around and additional peacocks further back. The second time I was not greeted by any animals but I saw a donkey and some more peacocks going up towards the coffee plantation. The food here is quite amazing - I highly recommend anything on the menu. Just a FYI - the entire menu is in Spanish and you may have poor service here if you are trying to search what certain menu items are. Luckily I had people there with me who could explain to me what was on the menu. A safe bet is just get the Churrasco! You can't go wrong with that,, it's so good here. The mofongo is pretty good but not the best I've had, it's a bit on the drier side. For appetizers, I recommend getting the fried cheese. For dessert try the Queso Flan! Oh and of course, get the coffee with it! It is a coffee plantation after all :) The coffee is amazing here and they do some nice latte artwork along with it. You can also buy the coffee next door at the coffee shop (which I did). For cocktails - the mojitos and sangria are very good. Service can be a hit or miss here but the food and ambiance makes up for it. I suggest sitting outdoors even though the indoor area is cozy. Just come here, sit, relax, and enjoy!

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Honey salmon is delicious with rice and beans! Josue, the waiter, is very kind and patient. And the place is clean

Milagros R.

Yelp
12/30/22 Beautiful place. Clean. Service fluctuates between excellent and not so much. The bathrooms are tricky. Very small. No handicap stall. Strange since it's the law in PR. Ordered some Chicharrones Kan Kan & the pork was pink inside & the skin wasn't crispy. Every Puerto Rican knows pork has to be fully cooked & the Kan Kan is super crispy & crunchy. No exceptions. After we finished our appetizers, we waited forever to get our plates removed. Only then when they brought our main dishes did they take them away but only after I asked. Ordered a churrasco steak and it was underseasoned. So was the rice. Ordered a coffee desert. Pretty good. And coffee. The coffee that was really good came after we finished our desert. Will not return.

Vivian B.

Yelp
Not a good dining experience. although server was very kind to us, food was cold. order incomplete. my salad was brought with only lettuce and tomatoes. I had to ask for the fruit and walnuts and onions, etc. then they told me they were out of carrots. my food was not brought. we had vegetarian people in our party. told them. they brought bacon in their mofongo. Mentioned the food was refrigerator cold (honestly), and they just took the plate and microwaved it. the only good thing is that they removed the items we couldn't eat from the bill. Beautifuk place. Not recommended...
google avatar

Evelyn A.

Yelp
Coffee is delicious, tour was informative and restaurant was delicious. Food was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is lovely but the best part is the coffee! Wow! Love it! The place is clean and the ambient cozy!
google avatar

Nishank J.

Yelp
Very nice plantation. We booked the coffee tour and received great service. But the tour was meh. Not so good coffee either. Guide complained about the dark roast coffee being burnt coffee throughout the tour and the most packets on display were Dark coffee .
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Service is Awful, slow and expensive. There were 3 people in my party, we ordered and received only Two, had to ask and wait at the end came back with a very cold serving. The drink was not good. Asked for a frappe and got juice. Bad first impression and BAD service . Left no tip.
google avatar

Cyrille C.

Yelp
If you drink coffee You have to come here The production from the plant to the roasting Amazing experience Food and atmosphere of the restaurant so precious! Coffee drinks the best in the world!
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Luis gave us an awesome tour of their operation. His passion for Puerto Rican coffee is palpable. We learned so much about growing coffee, the harvesting process then roasting the beans. The taste test at the end was fun and educational too.
google avatar

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
The most beautiful coffee hacienda I have been to, amazing views and great staff. There is something for everyone at Hacienda Muñoz. With Yiya's restaurant with amazing authentic Puerto Rican food, to Amanda's wood with delicious homemade burgers and a cool auto shop, and Doppio Coffee bar.. going to Hacienda Muñoz is defienlty an experience to have when in Puerto Rico. The coffee tour is great and insightful with awesome landscape and peacocks! Recommend and definitely will be back in la isla del encanto!

Jason S.

Yelp
It was an enjoyable experience.. it's appeal is what I expected.. I would suggest they drop the reservation for tours, etc. When one is on vacation for a week, it's difficult to schedule items weeks ahead when. You don't know they even exist... The staff was friendly and service was prompt at the coffee bar.

Yelp
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT - So, my wife tells me that - for my birthday - she wanted us to go to Hacienda Muñoz for lunch. Being a coffee junkie all I could think of was the coffee I was going to get to try there! I've seen the reviews, I've heard the talk on the street, I've seen the bags of the aromatic coffee pass by where I work, I was like a little kid going to Disney. We got there to see the place, try out their food and taste their coffee. The place - beautiful!, the food - very good! They had coffee beer and coffee flan! ( but! here comes the kicker!) when I finally ordered the coffee all I asked for was a regular cup with a little milk to have with my flan! and so I wait and I wait and wait ... the waiter is now sweeping and cleaning up spills from another table and so I wait ... finally, I get my cup of coffee (meanwhile I've eaten have my desert already) I get my coffee and it's just a cup of milk and VERY LITTLE coffee! I asked that, if possible, could he pour out some of the milk and put in more coffee and so I go back to waiting and I I wait, wait... more waiting ... my desert is finished ... he finally shows up with a 'fresh cup'. I put the spoon in and realized that the milk was soured and had curdled in the cup!! Don't you think that being a "Coffee Plantation" with their own Coffee beer and Coffee flan that they would be experts at making a cup of coffee?!!!When I finally got his attention again and told him all he said "oh! Yeah!" I was so mad right then( not being able to taste this supposedly wonderful coffee!) that I just requested the check. For this! he was quick!! No apologies, no 'let me bring you a cup on the house' or a discount on the check, nothing. I went, walked, ate, drank their coffee beer but never tasted the coffee! TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED

Yelp
#1 is service! This place treats you like a VIP! Even the security guard when you drive in greets you. Everyone is super nice. The tour was A++ in terms of education. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. It's about 1.5 hour tour even though it's a small area to cover. Lots of information on the tour so come prepared to listen!! We later went to the restaurant to get some food. I definitely recommend getting the coconut beer on draft and not the coffee beer. That one is just funky. Otherwise all the food is good and you can see that the plantain encrusted chicken is enough for 2 easily! Overall incredible experience and will definitely return!

Miriam P.

Yelp
The coffee tour was very informative and interesting. The grounds are beautiful. In the restaurant the service was great. I ordered the vegan dish which had fried plantains and a bean salad, it was delicious. They had the ripest plantains on this trip so far, they just melted in your mouth and were so sweet. I would definitely go back to eat there again.
google avatar

Ricardo D.

Yelp
I started off with a salad which was out of this world ridiculously amazing. A mango dressing with buttered vegetables. My entrée included mahi-mahi with the Malanga, which was similar to a mashed potato but a thousand times better. The pique sauce was to die for.

Maria R.

Yelp
Amazing spot to check out! Coffee is amazing and so is the food. Definitely have to do the tour, everyone was very nice and attentive. Very nice spot to take photos. Definitely recommend.
