Lovely hotel, located in Campeche's historic district. The colonial era property is centered around an interior courtyard with ancient banyan trees, whose roots drape down the decaying walls of an ancient structure that occupied the site. A pool has been ingeniously built to snake around the remains of the old structure, allowing you to swim through the archways and grottos, having the effect, almost, of a Moorish bathhouse or spa.||The staff are uniformly warm and gracious. The breakfasts are wonderful. The rooms are spacious and full of "colonial charm."||Campeche itself is hidden gem. Now that the Maya train is up and running, with easy access from Cancun, it's hard to imagine it will stay untouched for much longer. So visit while you can

We had dinner at Hacienda Puerta Campeche, and it was absolutely wonderful. The food, atmosphere and service was all fantastic. Carlos, our waiter, welcomed us with open arms, gave us spot on recommendations regarding the menus items, and gave us flawless, timely professional service. The quality of the food was impeccable, and it was a great value, given the magnificent setting. After the meal was over, Carlos took the time to explain the history of the hotel, and showed us around the property. He truly is a great reflection upon the hotel, and IHG, and we truly appreciated it. Thank you so much, we will return!

Upsides: good location, comfortable bed, nice pool. Downsides: dark rooms, thin walls, bad breakfast (horrible coffee, bad service-food was cold, waiter waited till we were done with our meal to bring the requested pepper and salt) All in all: I would have expected a lot more from a 5* hotel but I guess it’s nonetheless the best hotel in Campeche due to a lack of competition.

Of all the hotels we stayed in in Mexico, the Hacienda Campeche is a standout. The hotel is in a beautiful location, just inside the city walls but at the end of Calle 59 which is the main street for restaurants in Campeche. The views from the top of the hotel provide a lovely view across the town. ||It is stunning, the rooms are huge boasting two partner lay down couches in addition to a king size bed. The rooms are sparkling with excellent toiletries and generous shower and basin area.||The staff are highly attentive, they are exceptionally helpful and assisted us by providing a hammock inside the room. The turn down service is highly personalised providing pastries in addition to water. ||The pool is a work of art one, it is a series of arches that one can swim through, some sheltered from the elements some not, but it is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. The restaurant is also excellent, very varied with local dishes from across the region and lovingly prepared with a view out onto the pool at night. The breakfasts are also excellent and definitely worth having. ||If I return to Campeche, would have no hesitation to stay here again.

We enjoyed very much our 2 night stay. The team goes the extra mile to make you feel at home. Very attentive. Hacienda Campeche has all the facilities you expect from a small city boutique hotel. They organised a special dinner for us at the front porch of the hotel, which was a very pleasant experience. We will come back.

This hotel is not actually a hacienda, but a nicely executed cloister within the walls of historic Campeche. It’s probably one of the 2-3 best hotels in Campeche—I would characterize it as a “four star” hotel. It has well-appointed old rooms with character, and quiet, picturesque gardens. The location is great, located at one end of the main restaurant corridor in the old town. The hotel has some parking out front. We did not try the hotel restaurant. The swimming pool is clever, but maybe too clever and hard to keep clean. Indeed, the pool is too popular with the local birds, and there’s a guano problem both in the pool and on the walls of the pool area. The pool area and its maintenance deserves a rethink, but if you’re not planning to swim, you are unlikely to be disappointed by this hotel.

This hotel is a magical, serene retreat. It is one of the most imaginative uses of recombined historic houses that I've ever seen. The pool meanders through old stone walls hung with vines. The rooms are ample, cool and quiet. There is a lovely restaurant with a patio on the garden where the staff was happy to patiently help with our struggling Spanish.

We didn’t stay here but I really wish we did. |Came here for dinner and had an amazing dinner that was not overpriced at all. The service was impeccable. Took a walk around the area and just reminded me of visiting Mexico as a kid with my parents before all major hotels took over these sweet magical spots. It’s truly special place for dinner and for a stay. Dreamy indoor and outdoor pool. |Again, really regretted an Airbnb. Truly wish we would have give them out business.

Yelp
Hacienda Puerta Campeche is a GEM - possibly the best hotel in Campeche. We stayed here for one night on a short visit from Merida using a free night certificate courtesy of my Marriott Amex card The hotel is incredible - it's an old colonial building that has been completely renovated. The entire hotel is plush with an elegant air conditioned restaurant, swimming pool that is built inside an old ruined building, and beautiful grounds. Our room was luxurious with a very comfortable over sized bed, large bathroom with double sinks, HOT water, cable TV, minibar, robes for guests to wear to the pool, etc. In the morning, we were brought complementary coffee and sweet breads in our room The hotel is centrally located in old town Campeche - with lots of museums, churches, bar and restaurants all within walking distance. The entire downtown area seemed very safe to me and we didn't have any hesitations walking around even at night. The staff are incredibly attentive to their guests - giving us suggestions on places to go arranging taxis, etc Highly recommended!

Yelp
Literally they rob you in this hotel - I ate at the restaurant and it has been my worst experience ever ! 1.- They took one hour and a half to bring a beer 2.- As they were super slow we decide to just pay for the drinks and leave as if for drinks they take this much imagine for lunch 3.- But this was not problem, problem was the inept waiter charged me 600 usd instead of 60 !!!! And guess what they told me they were not able to process the refund right away because of their policy !!!!! To this day no one at the hotel has contacted me and I have the charge in my credit card - Horrible hotel - horrible service and worst attitude - you were warned -

Yelp
First class all the way. Great location within the walled colonial city with easy walking to everywhere. Rooms are spacious and nice. Service is friendly and helpful. The La Guardia restaurant is fantastic for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
