I've spent a lot of time at Tijax, both in the hotel and in the marina. The trail up to the tower is one of my favorite places on earth, but over the years, I've never ridden the horses. I finally remedied that by taking my partner riding. I expected it to be beautiful, but it was so spectacular that I was completely blown away. I've lived in Guatemala off and on for years, and I saw a whole new side of this beautiful country on that horse ride.

I was there for two night.|The location is nice, in a lagoon with mangrove, with bord ways and wood bridges. |It is far from the main road, then another long drive to the parking and then a long walk to the reception and cabins.|While all is beautiful about the settings I can't tell the same thing about the cabins. They are small, shaky, a strange smell of sewers and mold. No warm water was a turn off for me.|There was an AC, that was the best thing about the cabin. |Being far from the town the restaurant was crowded, laud and extensive. Ended up driving to town twice for dinner.|You can't take the boat to town, it's cheap, I wasn't sure how the return worked, the lady at the reception wasn't very clear and not fluent in English.

A bungalos hotel beautifuly serounded by jungle and swamp, a special atmosphere. And a crocodile, named Juanicho right down there. A nice warmed pool to relax after an interesting day sailing in Rio Dulce. Friendly staff, nice restaurant, and Aircondition in the room! The only cone is not having internet connection in the bungalo.

If you are looking for a close to nature experience, this is the place. There's so much calmness and the cabins have enough space and are sound proof so your neighbors won't be a problem. All of them have a wetlands view and some of them have a view of the marina. I wouldn't recommend the place to someone with kids cause the bridges and the tracks in general are slippery, although I saw a few families with kids around. There aren't many options on the restaurant in site but you can still take advantage of the complementary coffee and tea in the mornings. Make sure to pack repellent and get ready for a one in a lifetime experience.

Great place to unwind. Ideal jungle setting with numerous accommodation options. Great dining come bar area right on the water. Easy access for tours to the hot springs and Livingstone all from the reception desk.

Really unique, cute and relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff. Chosen and booked for us by Mayan Gateway. Really enjoyed our stay! Coffee on tap at breakfast much appreciated as well! Gracias! ♥️

We stayed 2 nights in cabana on jetty. Transfer by boat from Bruno’s to this accommodation across the water. Accommodation was basic but comfortable but swayed whenever anyone walked on jetty. Surprised by how much truck noise on bridge across the water. Mosquitoes were present but not as many as expected although we covered up in evening. Prices for meals were reasonable considering location and staff friendly

I decided to leave the review because I want to warn people about what could happen to them. I was there with the group for 3 nights. Our cabin had a key but the lock was not working. I addressed this issue with the front desk for 2 days but they did nothing to fix it. I used my googles there to swim in their pool. Before we left I checked all the cabin to be sure that we did not forget anything. When I needed googles in several days again they were not in my bag. I sent them the message to give them opportunity to pretend they found them but they replied that they were not found. I also was missing the silver bracelet but because it was in my pocket it could be dropped in another place.||There is no place nearby to eat or by food and you have to use their restaurant. The prices there are extremely high.
