Busan’s magic works on everyone - SilverKris

"A historic seaside temple dramatically set on rocks overlooking the ocean, reached via a descent of 108 steps to the main complex. The site rewards visitors with sweeping coastal views, tranquil grounds and numerous statues and shrines where worshippers and visitors can offer prayers or enjoy contemplative scenery." - Dinesh Ajith

This temple is stunning! Built right by the sea, the view is breathtaking. You can hear the waves while walking through the temple grounds. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual. There are many small statues and spots to make wishes. The path down is beautiful, with colorful lanterns and carvings.

Stunning temple built in to the rock face and natural landscape surrounding it. It is cushioned in nature and was an absolutely serene temple to visit. The route around the temple was overall well shaded and a nice relief from the hot summer sun! Can’t recommend this enough.

It's a very beautiful temple located beside the sea. There are stairs to climb but it was worthy, you can see from the pictures. The temple is very peaceful and we managed to catch the prayer time. We went there on Monday afternoon and it was crowded. Entry was free.

This temple will be on most folks itinerary so be strategic in when you visit, mornings are better and likely cooler than the midday sun. Entry is free and a whole local economy has been set up to service visitors outside the gates of the temple itself. Try to find solitude as you stroll around and enjoy the ingenious decision to build such a beautiful compound right on the crashing waves of the sea.

Visited the temple on a weekday, there was fair amount of crowd but still peaceful to get good shots of the temple. It’s beautiful and calm and has the ocean front . I love the colorful lanterns placed here as it was buddhas birthday a week before we reached here. Do go early mornings or during sunsets

One of the most beautiful temples I have seen so far!!! And not to crowded ^^ Its a lovely place for a spending a sunny day :) And it's free ^^ There is a souvenier and food market in front of the temple where you can buy everything from bracelets to Korean snacks ^^ My personal tip: try the peanut cookies 😋

A spiritual getaway by the sea! Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan stands out from the rest, perched dramatically on the rocky coastline where the sound of waves meets peaceful serenity. Whether you're seeking peace, looking for the perfect shot, or just want to soak up the salty ocean air, this temple offers breathtaking views and stunning architecture that's hard to forget. 🔥 Pro Tips: ✅ Beat the crowds by arriving early ✅ Not a fan of stairs? There's a paved path, but it's still pretty steep! ✅ Plan to spend at least an hour taking it all in This coastal temple is a must-visit. Mark it down for your next trip to Busan, South Korea!

Visit: May 2025 An absolutely beautiful temple. The way it lines the coast provides an extraordinary view and the sounds of the waves are very calming. A great place, even if you aren't religious, but even better if you are (Buddhist). There's a lot of different areas to pray. It does get very crowded there, as it's a tourist attraction, but besides that it was great. Some food stalls as well, but they're not great (had the hotteok and it wasn't good) since it's a tourist as tea
