Rooms were spacious and excellent. We had a balcony which had a partial sea view which was east-facing. The balcony becomes very bright and glaring in the morning due to the sun.
However, what was a promising experience was marred by discriminatory and unacceptable service epitomised by a pair of incidents.
First, the morning receptionist was very unhelpful. We asked for her help to book a restaurant outside the hotel as we had some trouble with using NAVER reservation. She initially appeared very reluctant after realising it was “not a hotel restaurant” and to make things worse spent 3 minutes staring at the same screen pretending to make a reservation before returning us our phone and informing us “reservations were not possible” (despite the website stating that they indeed were).
Secondly, on our check in, we received the typical obligatory guest orientation. While the night receptionist was kind and helpful in walking us through the orientation sheet, we noticed that when the Korean language and English language brochures were placed side by side, that their contents differed! Most significantly, the English brochure completely omitted the adults-only pool, suggesting this pool was meant only for Korean speakers. We found this frankly unacceptable and would not have known had the receptionist not accidentally mentioned it to us.
Overall, the hotel has much to work on if it intends to market itself as appealing to international guests.
