Hafaldan Old hospital hostel- Seydisfjordur

Great location right in town. rooms and bathrooms were clean and very comfortable. Amazing to have a sauna right there in the facility. Enjoyed that very much.

We stayed in a private room at the Hafaldan Old Hospital and it was perfect for our family of 4 after driving from the Myvatn area. The surrounding town is beautiful, and our stay was comfortable and cozy. We appreciated the shared kitchen.

The hostel is fine. Old fashioned rooms, no soundproofing and nowhere near enough bathrooms and toilets for the guests. Also, be prepared that there may be a group staying - they took over the whole kitchen and dining area, were loud, unfriendly and made other guests feel really unwelcome. It was fine for the price but I wouldn’t recommend it.

This place is wonderful. 🫶🏻 It was the most beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was more than clean and the sauna was a real highlight for me. The kitchen area was perfect! Enough space for everybody, well equipped and clean. I had a small private room. The space was more than enough :) and the bed was comfy. The staff was really friendly. I would 10000% book there again.

We had a room with a private bathroom which was huge. It was conveniently loccated to the shared kitchen, which was well stocked with equipment. The dining room is large and has heaps of room for large groups. Check in was easy due to the great communication. We had the instructions and were initially, the only ones in the building. The hostel is within an easy 5 minute walk to the supermarket. Would recommend this place.

The hostel is generally cozy and equipped in a good style. It is well located and close to the city center. However, the walls are very thin and hence it was pretty noisy until late evening. Unfortunately our room was directly besides the 2 shared toilets on the upper floor which added to the constant noise level (doors banging, stamping on the floor,…). The shared kitchen was rather messy, probably depends on the guests. As we were searching for a rather quite and more private place to stay the hostel is not recommended for folks like us, but is probably nice if you look for a rather active-noisy-family orientated atmosphere.

The hostel is very well run and the common areas are pleasant and spacious. There is a good kitchen and the vibe was positive amongst people making different meals. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and of good size.

We realy enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are simple but all we needed was there. The atmosphere of building is good and there is a relaxed vibe. The kitchen and sitting room attached is where everybody joined together adn where we had some nice conversations. I would definitly come back here 👍
