Hafaldan Old hospital hostel- Seydisfjordur

We were 4 friends and shared a family room. The room was enough for us and was also clean. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were used by all guests and although there were so many people, it was always clean. People show consideration for each other here. We liked the sauna. Only the rooms were a bit noisy, so you could often hear snoring from the other rooms.

Great place for backpackers and other travelers alike. Easy to book online. Large rooms and great communal spaces. Very clean. Hot sauna was a nice extra. Plenty of communal bathrooms and showers. Well stocked kitchen with all appliances needed for cooking, and also a great spot to meet fellow travelers.

The Hostel is a very nice, charming place. It has a great, well equipped kitchen and a nice dining room. The rooms are very clean, but a little alert. Thomas and the nice young woman are very kind and helpful. The guests are international and open minded. I am happy we habe been there.

😊: Beautiful views over the fjord from the dining area. Availability of tea and coffee. Friendly welcome from the guy who serviced the rooms. We arrived early on the ferry and were able to leave our luggage at the hostel until check-in time (2 pm).. 😢: There wasn't an actual check-in. Information is posted on walls, but we would have preferred to have engaged with a person. The wood surrounding the sink in our room looked to have water damage; we weren't comfortable using it and instead relied on the sinks in the toilet area. For anyone coming on foot to the hostel with a suitcase on wheels, the path leading down to the hostel is very rough underfoot. The hostel is better suited to guests with a car or motorbike..

😊: It was in a good location. 😢: We were two elderly guests with heavy bags. We had expected there would be some transport available to take us to the ferry terminal. There were no taxis and no buses..

I love Hafaldan hostel. Stayed here for the third time and was not disappointed. The place is so warm and inviting, and the complementary sauna in the basement (which has been added since I was last there) is amazing. Highly recommend.

Nice hostel with all the essentials and a sauna. It was clean and quiet. Kitchen is fully equipped.

Everything excellente! Calm, clean, spacious, super comfi and warmly decorated. Good wifi. Nice staff. Haven't tried the sauna yet, but I'm sure it will be nice!
