Visiting Haghpat Monastery was a truly fascinating experience. The architecture is stunning, rich in detail, and history. One of the most memorable moments was discovering an image of Jesus on the wall, which added a deeply spiritual touch to our visit. It's a place where history, faith, and art come together beautifully.

Haghpat Monastery is an old and beautiful church complex in northern Armenia, built way back in the 900s. It's a UNESCO site because of its amazing old buildings, like the main church.
Worth a visit, amazing.

The complex was smaller than expected and needed some basic maintenance. Several buildings but all very close to each other.
Maybe I was expecting more after the visit to the more impressive Sanahin monastery.

The large monastery is set against a beautiful backdrop of the mountains.
We were there in the afternoon and it was quiet and peaceful.
A UNESCO world heritage site worth the drive up from Yerevan.

One of several churches/monasteries to visit in Armenia. An easy day excursion from Tbilisi. Go w a tour. Amazing to see. I did a tour that included lunch prepared by a local family.

Historic, Byzantine-era monastery with a unique architecture. Offers a wonderful view of the Lori region too.
