Hagi is an out of the way spa area, where it is mostly locals. We were visiting relatives for the first time and heard of the hot baths and views here. Did not disappoint. It takes a little getting used to Tatami mats, but its more like a firm, very firm mattress. The views and hot baths are amazing. We did not eat there, but they do have a nice restaurant. The price was reasonable compared to what we have seen in other parts of Japan. Not many people speak English here, so be prepared. Overall, the town and the hotel ryokan is a great area and good value. the people were very happy to see my family and went out of their way to help. Highly recommend.

This ryokan-styled hotel was perfect! The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and well maintained. The onsen and facilities were gorgeous with lots of amenities including hair dryer, soaps, shampoos, etc. The surrounding area is quiet, but beautifully. Nice view overlooking the fishing village. Can't wait to go back for a longer visit!

Our party of four persons drove up to the beautiful site of this hotel for a one night stay. The location is beautiful, situated on top of a hill. The hotel overlooks the small port of Hagi with its surrounding mountains. The hotel has a beautiful lobby to view this scenery. Hotel staff is ever so friendly and gracious. Dinner and breakfast are great delicious. The onsen is clean and the waters slightly salty but comfortable. Strongly recommended for its value and location.

We stayed here one night and for the price we paid, it was an excellent value coming in around $100 per person. Dinner was very good with fugu, sashimi, sea bass, anago rice that is cooked at your table, tempura, and a half dozen other dishes incl a small dessert. The view was amazing! A hotel shuttle picked us up at the train station so there was no hassle. I will be coming back here again when I'm in the area to stay a bit longer. Highly, highly recommend!

My family and I travelled around Japan this summer and spent 3 days around Hagi. We didn't book in advance but the staff were very accommodating despite our rusty Japanese. We spent two nights in a beautifully comfortable tatami room with incredible panoramic views but on the last night had to move - to the most incredible suite on the third floor, all at no extra cost! There is a beautiful rotemburo (outdoor onsen - public spa bath) again with great views over the bay and islands. From the hotel it's a few minute walk to the glass factory, brewery and miya-ike pond. Hagi town is about 10 mins by car with a good selection of restaurants etc.

The hotel was a resorted far away from the downtown. It was not very convenient but of coz quite quiet and isolated.|You probably need to drive otherwise take the free shuttle bus offered by the hotel, just like i did.|I didnt book dinner. The shuttle bus dropped me by a 7-11 to pick up some takeaway. It was very caring and nice of the hotel staff.|My room was very spacious. I could see a beautiful seaview from my windows. This was very relaxing.|The onsen was very good too. I can directly enjoy the seaview from the onsen.|Breakfast was yummy and there were a lot of variety.||If I will ever visit Hagi again, I will choose this hotel again.|

The room is in good size with charming sea views. This hotel has a great bath with wonderful harbor and costal views. It is so relaxing and comfortable to soak in the hot spring. The staffs are considerate and attentive. Both their breakfast and dinner are delicious. Even it is slightly far away from Hagi downtown, they provide shuttle services to/from Higashi-Hagi Station, and there is a daily bus to/from Shinkansen Shin-Yamaguchi station door to door literally. Taxi rides from the hotel to most of the places in Hagi costs about US$15-20.

Very comfortable Onsen hotel. Up the hill in a quaint little fishing village. The rooms are traditional Ryokan style. We did not eat there, so cannot speak to the food, but the Onsen is special. See photos. Stunning view of the sound and mountains. Ridiculously affordable, maybe $60 USD?

Yelp
Maybe cost performance view point, here would be one of best hotel in Hagi city inspire of far from the center of the city. They have very nice view from all guest room since it is located in the middle of smallest volcano mountain in Japan. According to hotel staff, Bocho Bus company is their parent company so that you can take the bus bound for Shin Yamaguchi station in front of hotel entrance with almost 30% discount of bus fare.
