Hagi Yado no Tomoe is an elegant inn near the train station with beautiful rooms and exceptional food. While this inn is simple on the outside and located in a business district near a canal, once you step inside you will find an elegant refined refuge in lovely Hagi City. Every detailed speaks to the refined taste of the Okami of the inn, an elegant, kind and refined hostess. My room was very large for one person, every detail was lovely and spotlessly clean. The food was beautiful and superb, with each course so beautifully presented. I also purchased some pottery from the small, curated collection in the lobby, and went on a tour of a sake brewery and had a wonderful experience. My only wish list is for there to be coffee available in the lobby early in the morning before 8 am, ideally by 6 am when the onsen baths open. In addition, the corrosive nature of the hot spring bath has caused some condition issues with the windows and stonework in the men's bath, so it may be time for a slight renovation to return it to the high quality condition of other parts of the inn. But these are minor suggestions. Overall the inn is perfection. I loved the kind staff and am grateful for my overall wonderful experience with them in Hagi.
