Beautiful in the middle of Christchurch. Can easily spend several hours here in quiet nature; it has lots of ponds and ducks roaming around. It's clean, has toilets, plenty of parking if you are coming by car, a kiosk that sells coffee and snacks, and many place to sit and rest. Spent a few quiet solitary hours here and really enjoyed it, it is well looked-after.

It’s such a peaceful spot to wander, with so many trees, colorful flowers, and the gentle flow of the Avon River. The birds are always singing, adding to the serenity of it all. Everywhere you look, there’s beauty in every corner. It’s the kind of place where you can’t help but feel connected to nature.

Beautiful massive park in centre of Christchurch. We arrived as the trees blossomed all around the park. Beautiful walks along running water , stunning old trees. Way older than my 67 yrs.

Beautiful park! I recently moved to Christchurch, and I feel lucky to live close by. I keep coming back to enjoy the flowers and the relaxing vibe.

Best place to take walks on. Very spacious park and has been a part of Christchurch’s identity as the Garden City. Plenty of spaces to take walks and jogs on. Beautifully carved and is clean every time, so you can see how well it’s been taken care of and how disciplined everyone visiting is. Christchurch truly is beautiful and Hagley Park adds to that!

Clean. Well maintained surrounding. Multiple directions, signs and reminders for all types of visitors. Walking, cycling, running are all good way to enjoy this side of park.

I had a quick stay in the town center of Christchurch. Hagley Park was a couple of blocks from the hotel. I decided to check it out since it was recommended by the cab driver. What a treat. It is beautiful and large. I spent the afternoon walking around before dinner. Definitely worth checking out.

(See also Hagley Park South) Paved pathway around the perimeter of both North and South sections and through the middle. The two sections of the park are divided by Riccarton Avenue. The North park includes Christchurch Botanic Gardens and Curator’s House Restaurant/Café. Much of the path is lined by trees. The perimeter path, being surrounded by busy roads, can be loud. There is a toilet block on the west side, near Riccarton Road. A few water fountains are installed around the park. In the northeast section is a Fitness Track with exercise stations.
