Haig Point Clubhouse

Breakfast is outstanding! I got the scramble and it was huge! The mushrooms were particularly tasty. My companion got the Benedict and loved it. We grabbed a sack lunch on our way out and the chicken salad sandwiches were delicious. Plus, the chefs gave us some fresh baked chips that were the perfect salty compliment to the sandwich. Really looking forward to lunch tomorrow...

Went to the Grill Room and had wings and a buffalo wrap. DELICIOUS. AMAZING. PERFECT.

Three and one half stars: A beautiful lakefront setting for a private club (Haig Point Club) surrounded by miliion dollar homes an the area.. The restaurant changes its menu and wine list periodically. Dine inside or al fresco,on the patio under umbrellas, for parties, weddigs etc. 'New director of F & B has made important advances. Open for late breakfast at 0900 and serving until 5:00 PM (when tbe beach front Gourmet Calibogue Club restaurant opens )This Club house restaurant has an adequate indoor bar and good but simple Menu for golfers at lunch or for light early dinner. The restaurant would get more stars except for the fact that breakfast opens so late, and when it gets very busy, service is rather slow, but who on an island with no bridge is in a hurry? Closed Sundays at 4:00 M but offers tasty take out Chicken dinners. If you are not golfing in a tournament, if you are not a regular, reciprocal, or national Member of Haig Point, you need to come as a member's guest, and while at Haig Point (a safe, secure, private island with its own private ferry) play tennis, play two Reese Jones golf courses, ride Club horses on a trail ride on the beach, bird or nature watch. or just hang out with friendly members.

I want to be able to give this a better rating but just can't quite get to the four star rating. Haig Point is a neat experience and potentially worth doing once if you don't have other options for similar experiences near you. We had a group of 12 and did the member for a day experience. Basically you meet up on the mainland and take the ferry over to Daufuskie Island, where you are then shuttled to the club house for your golf. After the round you're taken back to the ferry for a relaxing trip back. It's fun and certainly something different. All of the staff we interacted with were absolutely top notch. Very nice club house with a bar, and range balls were included. On the golf portion, I loved the layout of the course. Off the tee it was by far the most interesting course we played in Hilton Head up to and including Harbour Town. However, for the price we paid, we were all pretty underwhelmed by the course condition. Tees and fairways were in good shape but approaches around greens VERY rough. A number of greens with dead spots. And super inconsistent bunkers with linings showing in a handful of them where there was a seeming lack of sand. Just things that when you're paying those kinds of prices, shouldn't be happening. Overall, a cool trip and experience, although it does make for a long day. I'm glad we did it once, but I wouldn't do it again at the current price. As a similar alternative depending where you're coming from, check out Bald Head Island.

Haig Point is one of the entrance points to Daufuskie. There is a lot of history associated with the island. The Golf and Tennis club are just a plus to tour. Plan to enjoy your day.

The golf experience will exceed your expectations. The condition of the greens are consistently optimal and well tended to. Winding around the ponds, the gorgeous spread of forest and coast line of South Carolina, the terrain blends challenging golf along side elegant scenes.
