Hainanese Chicken Rice Azabujuban Main Shop

Went to collect my new passport from the Singapore embassy, so thought maybe I should swing by to this nearby restaurant and try something that’s close to my heart. Chicken rice is decent. The succulent chicken is tenderly juicy. The chicken rice is definitely much better than the Chicken curry noodles. Maybe the curry noodles is not spicy enough for me. As for the black pepper prawns, it’s a little bit to the saltier side, rather than spicy. Overall it’s still a good place to try out Singapore food if you are nearby the area.

Honestly, the worst restaurant experience of my life. Came here with two others for a two year reunion since graduating from a college in the states. The LACK of service was unacceptable. I usually never give reviews, but I could not NOT give a review. So let me begin: We had a reservation at 7pm on 7/28/25 for three. Once we put in our order, our drinks didn’t come out until 20 minutes or so, so we’re there just waiting while others, specifically the group of middle aged working men get drinks and side dishes coming in and out. They had priority. Then after we receive our drinks, my friend receives her dish. NOTE: they brought hers out, while my other friend and I just waited. 15 minutes later, my other friend’s meal finally arrives. Again, let me iterate that I had NOT had my food at this point for 45~minutes since we first came in. Now, I ordered the Singaporean Chicken dish, as I’m waiting patiently for my food, guess what I see? Two to three other groups of people who came AFTER me eating their Singaporean Chicken. At this point it’s been past an HOUR and I still don’t have my food, my two besties are close to being DONE with their food, so I inquire and the “leader”/the only male server says, “you’re order is being served in order”. This doesn’t make sense as people: couples, families, had received their food/the same dish before I had when they had came after me. The food itself was impossible to enjoy as my two best friends who I hadn’t seen since college (this was a special occasion) were DONE with their food when my Singaporean Chicken dish finally came. Alone, I ate my food, while my two other friends had nothing to do but stare at me as I ate my food. HOW DISAPPOINTING. I had high hopes for this place as a local Japanese friend had recommended me this place. I even made a reservation! PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE LACK AND CARE OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. I honestly think I should’ve asked for a refund. NOT ACCEPTABLE. We were also very hungry since we came from Osaka that day. A long day of travel ended with this unexpected, unforgettable, unacceptable customer service. To the owners/employees: PLEASE TAKE BETTER CARE IF YOUR CUSTOMERS. WE DESERVE RESPECT. Thank you!

Delicious food, quick service and nice atmosphere! They almost always have a line outside but it moves pretty quick. The portion is very generous. They’re famous for chicken rice but their coconut chicken curry was also very very yummy!

A few weeks ago we visited and were unable to eat here. Our family of four was asked if we had reservations as all indoor seats were “full”. The pictures show how “full” it was. Over the next five minutes, a few small groups that followed were given seats and were not asked for reservations like we were. Coming from Singapore we were excited and looking forward to trying out many dishes to share our review with our friends. Maybe we can try again when it is less “full”

We were amazed to find a restaurant that serves Hainanese Chicken Rice in Japan. The food was amazing and love the free refill of rice and sauces. The stir fried vegetable was the best I ever had, though we wished the portion of vegetable serving was bigger. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back here again the next time we visit Japan!

We came for an early lunch on a weekend and only had to wait for a table to be cleared before a seat. There was a longer wait by the time we had finished so I recommend going a little bit early. The tables are quite close together but the outdoor seats and some of the group seats had space for prams/child seats. The service was quite prompt and we got our food quickly. This is a place that does a few dishes but does them really well so everything is quite streamlined. The food was really good. The portion sized was just enough to be satisfying but you can up size for a bigger meal. My only gripe was how dark it was inside. I guess they are going for the night hawker market vibe but it's midday and going outside was jarring. It probably feels a lot more seamless at night, so maybe come here for dinner to really appreciate the ambience.

Been a repeat customer to this place. Love the hainanese chicken -- flavor is great and the dipping sauces perfectly complement the chicken. Crab dish is my another favorite. Apart from the rich crab meat, the sauce is just so flavorful. Better to reserve ahead as this place usually gets full.

Taste is authentic. Singaporean review. Brought my international friends here for a meal. Our portion looks lesser than the other reviews even for the large size. And we werent given cucumber slices. minus a star for that. Also can't split the bill. The chilli crab had a good balance of spice and sweetness, not very spicy. Instead of the whole crab with the head, they served about 14 small pincers, which is easier to eat. costed about 3000 for that. Would recommend Large size for the chicken rice, Im a lady but medium was also little. They will ask if you want pakuchi (coriander) on your dish. It would taste better with it. The place was tucked away in a dimly lit street and is quite a walk from Roppongi station.

Went to the Azabu-Juban location for lunch. Cute little place with both indoor and outdoor terrace seating. There's also a semi-private room inside for small groups (4-6 people). Service is super friendly and prompt. Been here twice. Tried the Hainanese chicken rice and chicken curry before, both are fine but not memorable. This time went for seafood...amazing. Crab claws in chili sauce, shrimp in black pepper sauce and stir-fry water spinach with soy bean paste and garlic, All delicious! The seasoning/flavors are both so make sure you order the jasmine rice and steamed bun to soak up some sauce...otherwise might feel too heavy on the taste bud. Nice little hut for a yummy lunch. It's hidden behind Streamers Coffee. What a gem.

Their chicken rice is decent! Tender and juicy, and different kinds of sauce makes eating it much more fun. The staff is great too, offering extra sauce. I like them especially when they said, "you can get more rice if you'd like, so have as much as you want!" I just felt like being home. It's a little difficult to find because it's in the rear of the building. I'm not good at directions and got lost, but it was worth getting lost.

The chicken rice here is authentic, tasty and hits the spot every time! During lunch time, it's all-you-can-eat rice that was cooked in chicken broth. The chilli crab is all claw meat and pre-cracked/opened so that you can just bite into them straight away with little/no mess. Fantastic and tasty stuff. The staff, managers and owners are really great, makes dining here all that much better.

Easily, the best Singaporean restaurant in Tokyo! The hainan chicken rice is very tender and tasty. We also ordered the chicken black pepper curry and Indian roti bread. All very reasonably priced. Been here twice now and quality has been amazing both times. Great atmosphere too!

Accidentally went to wrong restaurant due to inability to read Kanji. Staff pleasant, atmosphere good, food better than average, and price reasonable. We would do it again.

I love the little cantina feel of this place. Their takeout is really fast (ready in a few minutes) but the ONLY thing they offer for takeout is chicken rice in 2 sizes. Nothing else. I wish they had more because their dine in food is yummy. Don't get why the chicken is cold though. Maybe that's how the dish is intended but I've gotten used to it anyway.
