Hair by The Collective

I’ve only been introduced to The Hair Collective recently. I’ve often walked past and have heard it was good but you know what it’s like, it’s hard to change hairdressers even if you’re not 100% satisfied, especially when colour is involved. Anyway, today was my second visit to see Richard for highlights/colour. He really gets what suits me. I’m a much warmer tone instead of ‘brash’ blonde and I know it will grow out much better. Very happy & thank you Richard! The salon itself is super relaxed, there’s a really chilled and welcoming vibe with a lot of conversation that’s more friends than idol chit chat. Richard & Karen own the salon. I’ve also met Ava, Marius & Nicki. All super nice, friendly and you can tell it’s a happy place to work. For me that speaks volumes and I highly recommend you visit.

I travelled up from Petersfield after doing some research especially for Marius to cut my blonde Afro hair. After 33years of scraping my hair back (and my 50th year approaching) I decided the scrunchie had to go. It was a big step and an emotional one but Marius was so patient and understanding and after an initial consultation the week before I put my trust in him and he cut my hair to perfection. His technique and style was faultless and his personality and after care advice outstanding I feel like a new woman, it was a big turning point in my life and I will be investing in regular visits to see Marius from now on.

The creme de la creme of salons. They have executed their mission with distinction! The energy of the space is always so welcoming, calm and bright, a clear testament of the magnificent beings involved in the collective. The decor is minimal (which I love) and super clean. Subrina Kidd is my hair guru, she knows and more importantly LOVES her craft. Always professional, confident and open to dive with me on my hair experiments hehehe. Each and every stylist is outstanding so you know you are in safe hands...literally. Love this place and always look forward to the stellar experience.

After all this time, my relationship with Subrina Kidd and Hair By The Collective goes beyond trust and friendship. It's more like having a hair partner, who is bringing unbelievable skill, genuine thoughtfulness, and endless creativity while also taking real responsibility for how you look, and thus how you feel. I leave that salon every time feeling like I can do anything, and I can't think of a better recommendation than that. Karen and Richard have created a wonderful space where I always feel welcome, and they even have fab people like Marius there to make it even warmer. Check them out!

It was my first time at Hair By The Collective and I was immediately made to feel at ease when greeted by Marius, he was so friendly and helpful. I had booked an appointment with Subrina and had seen on social media how talented she is with curly hair but it's safe to say that my visit exceeded my expectations. Subrina really took care of my hair and gave me an incredible cut. I did not feel rushed and felt comfortable to entrust her with my hair. I left feeling like a million dollars. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed and I can't wait for my hair to grow so that I can go back for another amazing cut!

I absolutely love my visits to see Subrina at Hair By the Collective. It’s a time I always look forward to, and she truly is one of a kind. She’s also in great company. This is a salon full of world class stylists with accolades and celebrity credits for days. But they also just happen to be the most lovely and warm people. I’m glad I can call it one of my homes away from home here in London.

Subrina works with the natural wavy texture of my hair, not against it. Not only am I heard by her, it’s like she just knows what will work for me - offering fabulous ideas and giving reassurance. I always leave feeling lifted from spending time with a truly inspirational person. The salon itself is relaxed and has an understated elegance. The stylists are professional, considerate and seem like family, spending time amongst them is a joy.

What’s just fantastic about The Collective is that it has everything you want in a hairdressers: Warm, comfortable space, amazing top level stylists with the skill to work with all hair types, and see each client in their individuality. And if that is not enough they have the extraordinary Subrina who combines supreme technical know-how, a highly trained professional eye to see each client’s style, with her ethos of collaborating with us as clients to give you just the best haircut ever - time and time again. I’ve literally waited all my long life for Subrina and her she is at The Collective!!
