It was smaller than I expected, I thought there would be more textile items there.

A single corridor worth of crafts, which given a zero yen admission fee, is well worth it. You are really coming for the Fukuoka City museum, which is in the same building. You stay a little longer for the Traditional Crafts. Or, come for the free Wi-Fi in the FreeSpace room, also in the same building, do some work and then see a few crafts.

It's basically a shop inside another museum. No longer in the merchants house in Hakada. Long way to go.

This place is much like the so called "cheese factory" in Hokkaido... a front for selling and nothing much on traditional crafts for tourists who come to see the "real" Japanese arts and crafts. It's a misinformed tourist attraction!

Was happy to learn some background of some of the traditional crafts in Hakata. Small exhibit upstairs but covered a number of crafts I hadn’t realized were from this area. Appreciated the insight. Thank you!

Quite small and almost a shop. Just a single room in a large museum

I always adore visiting here. It is rarely busy but the displays I find amazing in terms of the quality and the design.

You can see an old merchant house preserved and filled with traditional crafts. Sometimes there are demonstrations (e.g., weaving).
