Overall good taste, but the seasonal dish with oysters is not what I would recommend. Their basic set with tempura is good. The ancient wooden house in which the restaurant is located is very nice and it's worth the slightly higher price than other soba shops.

delicious and very serene location. highly recommend stopping here for dinner after spending time in one of the many onsens in Hakone.

Gorgeous place with one of the best soba that I’ve ever eaten- the soba is fresh without the typical soba taste that you get with other jap restaurants elsewhere, tempura is well made - crisp on the outside and tender + juicy on the inside. Highly recommended if you’re in the vicinity.

Soba is nice however is a bit pricy in my opinion ie. for tempura set menu (1900 yen). I would reccommend to try original soba (850 yen) that already nice but may be too small for soms people

I'd you're a tourist looking for good food in a traditional Japanese atmosphere, I highly recommend this place! Very old style, with friendly servers (they didn't know english, but has English menu) and a both delicious and unique menu. Loved the peaceful ambiance! Each set meal was 3,500 yen, so not the cheapest menu in Japan, but the experience is well worth the price! We did not reserve in advance, but the night we went was pretty empty. Stop by if you're in the area (and if your hotel leaves you out with no dinner)!
