Hakone Karaage Karatto

We came to this place because it was one of the few places that looked good opening at 11:00am. We were the first ones in and it got a bit busy but nothing too crazy after a while. The food was flavorful and it was good. We paid $47 dollars for four meals and 3 cokes. The only downside is that the portions are very small. Almost like a kids meal in the U.S. So if you’re really hungry think about going here twice. We were satisfied but not full. The staff were really nice and welcoming. They allow pets and the environment is really chill. Overall, I’d skip next time.

This cozy cafe near Lake Ashi offers a limited menu,featuring perfectly fried, light-battered karaage chicken and flavorful mild curry. The curry had that familiar savory and slightly sweet flavor, quite similar to the brand Golden Curry. The friendly owner adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Just a heads-up, there's a single restroom.

This restaurant serves a few excellent dishes of fried chicken nuggets. The curry is also great. Menu is not very varied and quantity is not big so I think for the price you pay you might still be a bit hungry afterwards, or maybe that was just me :)

Came here for late lunch without a reservation. Tables were available and were welcomed in. The food was great and most options include a drink, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food arrived quickly and the service was friendly and prompt. Very pet friendly with plenty of people bringing their dogs with them. There also is a friendly restaurant cat who roams around, probably fed a lot of chicken judging by its size! Would very happily eat here again.

I recently visited a charming local establishment specializing in delicious boneless chicken with crispy fries. The welcoming and relaxed atmosphere made it a great spot to unwind. My husband decided to try the fish and chips, and I must say, both dishes were expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection, resulting in moist and flavorful bites. The fries were wonderfully crisp, complementing the chicken beautifully. One unique aspect of this place is that it is dog-friendly, which adds a nice touch for pet owners looking to enjoy a meal with their furry friends. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

Best Karaage I've had. So juicy and tender, and well spiced. 10/10. There can be a wait though, so get there early and join the wait-list.

We were on a quest to find some lunch during a stormy day in Hakone and landed on Hakone Karaage Karatto. It blew me away! A quaint little shop with enthusiastic and beautiful owners. The curry itself was incredible. It was so layered and flavoursome and filled with great flavours and depth. Definitely my favourite curry experience in Japan. I cannot recommend it enough!!!

We came across this restaurant and had the best chicken Karaage ever. It was juicy and came with cream cheese. The curry set was also tasty. The best part is being pet friendly, and we saw many well behaved dogs. Also pet plate with different variety of meats can be ordered.
