This hotel, especially the service is BEYOND AMAZING. Staff so friendly and helpful, provided pick up from happo bus terminal and have daily morning shuttles to the mountains. The “compact” room has more than enough space for all our luggage and the bathroom was very nice and clean. Prime location in echoland surrounded by food choices and ski rentals. Breakfast was also included in our price. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Had a great stay here in mid Feb 2024. This place was excellent value for money.||We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment (four blokes) which had a kitchen/dining and a lounge room. It wasn't flash, but it was clean, spacious, and more than adequate and very comfortable. Had its own hanging room for ski clothes (there's a separate drying room for boord/boots downstairs). The TV even had Netflix!||The hotel wifi was good... when it worked, but it would often cut out or only work in certain rooms - which was really annoying. Maybe they've fixed this for 24/25 season? HOWEVER - Do yourself a favour, and just spend the money on a local SIM when you land in Japan, with unlimited data. It's just not worth the hassle of having bad wifi internet. And it can often be bad at times at ALL hotels.||Beau and his staff team were mostly Aussies/Kiwis, so it was easy to get local knowledge. They were very helpful and friendly. The included daily breakfast upstairs in the dining room, including filtered coffee, was great. They cook to order. And they have a complimentary shuttle van to take guests to the 2 or 3 closest resorts (47/Goryu and One) in the morning - which is a massive advantage when you're new to Hakuba and you're trying to figure out the place and it's many different resorts and shuttle services!||The hotel has its own sports bar on the ground floor, with cheap drinks. It's also surrounded by numerous restaurants, retail shops and drinking establishments, literally steps away.||Some of the free resort shuttles drive straight up the street, otherwise it's a short walk down to the main road to get the paid (Y200ish) Hakuba inter-resort bus (which is free with a loaded valid all valley lift pass).||Highly recommend this place! Contact them via email - they can basically answer all your questions and arrange nearly everything for you - even private van pickup/drop off to the Nagano Shinkansen.

Our family of 4 stayed for 7 nights. We had an excellent stay. The location was fantastic and so easy to access the free Hakuba shuttle bus network for the various resorts, or utilise the free hotel drop off in the morning. It has a great drying room. The staff were friendly and happy to share their knowledge of the area. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast each morning at the hotel and evening games of pool and of course a couple of drinks in the bar! We’d love to visit again in the future given the chance.

We've stayed at the Echo Hotel many times now and it never disappoints. You know you love staying somewhere when you jump into the big comfy king size bed on the first night and feel like you're "back home". Staff are great, always fun and very helpful. Being smack bang in the middle of the restaurant area the Echo Hotel is perfect for the end of the day when your legs are done from skiing. Not to mention the Snow'd Inn bar downstairs for après recovery drinks. Breakfast in the dining room upstairs is a great way to start the day - good food and beautiful views. Living the dream. ||Big thank you to the team at the Echo Hotel for once again making our holiday so special!

The positives are accurate, but this hotel is overrated. Downsides: shower/toilet (small, even for Japan, impractical, low water pressure, finicky temperatures), subpar Wi-Fi (unreliable and slow throughout the 5 days we were here), no in-room climate control (hot in one partition/cold in the other with option to boost one partition to hell hot), minimal housekeeping, limited but solid breakfast options (three Western egg options and either French toast or pancakes as the daily special). Predominantly younger Australian staff (not meant as either good or bad). To be fair, I am comparing it to hotels in Japan in general (in comparison to which housekeeping, bathroom, and internet are subpar), not in Hakuba, where I have no other point of reference. Reinforcing the positives: good location, lovely front desk (though usually not staffed), good gear storage, comfortable transport to slopes in the morning, spacious rooms with basic decor.

So we just left Echo Hotel after staying 7 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. ||The location is great and walkable to plenty of restaurants and bars. The Hakuba Base Camp is a couple of minute walk down the road for all transport needs. Plenty of ski hire places close by. ||The hotel itself was great. The most comfortable beds, great water pressure, fantastic breakfast, ski room and a nice bar. We had the delux double so apart from a large bedroom (compared to usual Japanese sizing) we also had a good size lounge and plenty of storage. ||The staff were mostly winter casuals but very friendly and accommodating (and also entertaining). But the stand out was John (manager). Apart from driving you to the ski fields in the mornings, picking us up on arrival and dropping us off when we left, he was the go to person for information on the weather, the best skiing areas each day, tours etc. Always around and ready to help. ||Do not expect a 5* hotel but they don’t profess to be that either. It is a comfortable friendly hotel that I would absolutely return to.

We stayed there for five nights as a family of four. Great service, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, has a ski gear drying room, free shuttle service to the ski resorts, close to restaurants and gear rentals. The only downside was the hot water temperature for the shower was very sensitive. But that s a minor issue. Overall we had a great time staying there. Thank you.

Honestly, I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. The staff and service they provide are incredible. So friendly and will always give you their time. John picked us up from the train station when we arrived (quite late by the way). When we were in a pickle (our fault misreading the bus timetables) he helped us out again. The breakfast and shuttle service is excellent. The bar downstairs and laundry service is great. Drying room for snow gear is provided. Can't say enough good things about this place, most enjoyable accommodation we had while in Japan.
