Power Outage, Sweaty Nights, Cold Breakfast, still no response from hotel. We stayed for one night end of April 2025, and by poor luck or something, there was an area-wide power outage between 9pm the night we checked in to 11am the morning after we checked out - basically our entire night was miserable, hot and sweaty because the A/C didn’t work and the orange emergency lights were on the whole night about our heads. Was an additionally bad experience because one person in our party had caught the flu and was hoping to get a good night’s rest - impossible! We had to flush toilets the old fashion way throughout the night, heaving buckets of water to flush every time someone went to the bathroom. Showered in the dark with our phone’s flashlight (which drained phone batteries and of course, we couldn’t charge our phones and this was a huge problem for our travel the next day in the mountains). Hotel is supposed to have an “outstanding breakfast” which we looked forward to, but because of the power outage, we had cold bento breakfasts, very small portion and rationed too!! The staff were mostly helpful and empathetic but they have told guests that they will be in touch to compensate - so far no responses, no emails, no calls, no updates on hotel’s responsibility on the matter. We completely understood that no one would want to cause/experience a power outage on purpose, but the hotel a.) needs better back up plans because nothing was done throughout the night, could at least provide guests with bottled cold water or gave them refunds so we can get a proper breakfast elsewhere rather than 2 cold hams + 3 pieces of fruit and a cup of tea and b.) get in touch with guests after the stay. We waited but know we will be left hanging without writing a review unfortunately. Such a shame that they are not as responsive as you would expect hotels of this standard to be. The actual hotel room was spacious, amenities were abundant and reception was friendly and spoke both English and Japanese. Just pray there isn’t an emergency because nothing will be done to help you - can’t imagine what you would have to do if it was an even hotter summer day!!

The hotel has a great atmosphere. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus that took us to Happo Bus Terminal. The food is absolutely delicious, with breakfast served in a buffet style featuring Nagano specialties, and dinner presented as a Japanese-French set menu. The onsen is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and clean. We also love locker area for keeping ski stuff and there also provide dressing area near by.

Love this hotel. Very roomy especially after staying in Tokyo. The onsens are really good. One indoor one out door with good quality products for washing. Each room has a ski locker downstairs. Super convenient for skiers. The food is amazing! Breakfast and dinner. Service is superb. Can easily get help in English. They sell ski day pass there. A bit cheaper too.

Nice spacious rooms with great glass views. Excellent mattress and linens. Separate toilet room and shower room. Onsite onsen was above average with 2 pools. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Coffee not great and only one espresso machine so a bit of a line. Boot drying room could be improved For boots and gloves but ski locker room and carts to move stuff were quit nice.

This place has the potential to be so so much better. ||Sadly it lacks enough staff to run the place. ||Rooms could do with an update and smells a bit stale. Make sure you get a room facing the mountain side. ||Otherwise the breakfast is good. ||Onsen is clean and decent too. ||Locker, dry room and ski facilities are on sight and decent. They have a shuttle bus that takes you to the gondola. ||Bar closes at 9pm sharp and wasn’t able to enjoy a night cap. The same goes for the fire outside. I was told off for adding a log at 8:50pm.

This is our favourite hotel in Hakuba. The onsen, comfy bed and pillows, ski lockers, complimentary parking, and good shuttle service and helpful reception are all good points. They even have a snow gear rental place in the hotel that’s cheaper than rhythm and central snowsports. I just wish they helped us carry our bags when we were checking in. We rented the standard twin room with balcony, which has a good view and enough space for 3 people (a bit tight but manageable). The economy twin room was also spacious for 2 people as we were allocated to a corner room. The restaurant in the hotel is pricey but average. Overall, It’s a pricey stay but worth it.

perfect place to stay for a family ski and snowboarding trip! The location is unbeatable, just minutes from the slopes, making it super convenient to hit the powder early in the morning. The hotel has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere after a long day on the mountain.

I stayed here for 10 days. Hotel is well located and has ski shuttles throughout the day. In contrary to what I read, you can walk into town for dinner. Yes reservations are necessary but you can actually walk. Between 15-30 minutes depending on where in Hakuba you go. |Ski shuttles are great connections 8 resorts and bus stops right outside the hotel. |The onsen is very good. One note it before and after skiing. |I had a deluxe room which was large and well equipped. |The ski locked downstairs are a plus to store ski overnight. |I would return. Hotel was fully booked. Only small issue was that the breakfast had very little variety. Daily the same items in the buffet. Rest was very good
