Hakuba Tokyu Hotel

Best ski holiday thanks to Tokyu Hotel. From the moment we were greeted the hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful. Really enjoyed the lodge feeling and the room was amazing looking out to Happo One slopes with decent space inside. Breakfast was cozy and amenities were very convenient plus relaxing in the onsen after a big day outside. Would definitely come back again

We had a great stay at Hakuba Tokyu Hotel and would definitely recommend it for a ski trip ⛷️ The location is very convenient — about 5 minutes from Hakuba Bus Station and around 8 minutes from Hakuba JR Station. The staff were really friendly and quick to help with anything. We stayed during our wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade, which was such a nice touch 💕 Breakfast was great and perfect before heading out to ski. The free shuttle buses to the slopes and to/from the bus and train stations made everything super easy 🚌 The hotel is very well set up for skiers — on-site ski rental with good brands, ski lockers, drying room, laundry, and a relaxing onsen ♨️ There are also a couple of restaurants in the hotel, which is very convenient after a long day on the slopes. Overall, a really comfortable and easy stay. Highly recommended 👍

We stayed at Hakuba Tokyu for 3 nights. The service was very good. All of the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The on-site Onsen was also very nice, very clean, and very luxurious. The only drawback to this hotel was the room. Our room was quite dated with old carpet floors that held an unfortunate odor. Bathroom tub would flood the floor frequently due to improper caulking. The water pressure, on the other hand, was incredible. Overall a very nice hotel with very friendly staff and outdated rooms.

The hotel itself is fine but there are definitely signs of aging. The hotel breakfast was the exact same everyday, be prepared if you are staying for a week for a ski trip. The hotel cleaning staff also lost my clothes during housekeeping not only once but twice! The first time I noticed right away because my white sweater was on the bed before I left. When I got back to my room it was gone. I contacted the front desk and the front desk was like ok we will notify you tomorrow because the cleaning staff had left already. Luckily, they found it quite quickly and I was able to get my sweater back. After the first incident, I was very careful to not leave any white clothing on the bed. But I still lost another white top. I didn't realize it until I left the hotel. I think this is probably the worst service I've ever received anywhere in the world.

Hotel  in the very nice location.There were no pajamas in the room, which is usually provided in most Japanese hotels, but I had to go to the lobby to get some. Most of the staff were nice, but there was one older woman who spoke more like a ward office clerk than a hotel staff member. I was disappointed.

It was my first time staying in this hotel, my second time in Hakuba.The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.The equipment in the hotel is clean and new. I also liked the design of the hotel.One slight disadvantage was that the hotel was far from many facilities in Hakuba; it would be fine if I were driving. The heat in the summertime makes moving around Hakuba difficult.

Power Outage, Sweaty Nights, Cold Breakfast, still no response from hotel. We stayed for one night end of April 2025, and by poor luck or something, there was an area-wide power outage between 9pm the night we checked in to 11am the morning after we checked out - basically our entire night was miserable, hot and sweaty because the A/C didn’t work and the orange emergency lights were on the whole night about our heads. Was an additionally bad experience because one person in our party had caught the flu and was hoping to get a good night’s rest - impossible! We had to flush toilets the old fashion way throughout the night, heaving buckets of water to flush every time someone went to the bathroom. Showered in the dark with our phone’s flashlight (which drained phone batteries and of course, we couldn’t charge our phones and this was a huge problem for our travel the next day in the mountains). Hotel is supposed to have an “outstanding breakfast” which we looked forward to, but because of the power outage, we had cold bento breakfasts, very small portion and rationed too!! The staff were mostly helpful and empathetic but they have told guests that they will be in touch to compensate - so far no responses, no emails, no calls, no updates on hotel’s responsibility on the matter. We completely understood that no one would want to cause/experience a power outage on purpose, but the hotel a.) needs better back up plans because nothing was done throughout the night, could at least provide guests with bottled cold water or gave them refunds so we can get a proper breakfast elsewhere rather than 2 cold hams + 3 pieces of fruit and a cup of tea and b.) get in touch with guests after the stay. We waited but know we will be left hanging without writing a review unfortunately. Such a shame that they are not as responsive as you would expect hotels of this standard to be. The actual hotel room was spacious, amenities were abundant and reception was friendly and spoke both English and Japanese. Just pray there isn’t an emergency because nothing will be done to help you - can’t imagine what you would have to do if it was an even hotter summer day!!

The hotel has a great atmosphere. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus that took us to Happo Bus Terminal. The food is absolutely delicious, with breakfast served in a buffet style featuring Nagano specialties, and dinner presented as a Japanese-French set menu. The onsen is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and clean. We also love locker area for keeping ski stuff and there also provide dressing area near by.
