We checked in today and unfortunately it’s quite a disappointment.
The rooms are nice and the hotel itself looks good, but the service is almost non-existent. When you ask staff for help, they seem uninterested or unwilling to assist, which makes the experience frustrating.
There is no proper lunch service at the hotel, so don’t expect to eat on-site during the day. All the restaurants are fully booked, which means you literally cannot find a place to eat at the hotel — a big issue when traveling with family. It’s not easy to just leave and find alternatives.
The hotel is also not very close to the ski resort. You need a car, taxi, or shuttle (if available), which makes everything more complicated than expected.
Don’t even try to rent skis at the hotel. We went three times to the rental shop — no staff present — and waited 20 minutes with nothing happening. They have a ski rental shop, but in reality it’s impossible to rent equipment there.
There is, however, a very nice ski rental shop just 200 meters from the hotel, which I would strongly recommend instead.
We honestly felt that we were not treated the same way as Japanese guests. Whether intentional or not, the experience made us feel that this is not a hotel that is particularly welcoming to families or foreign visitors.
If I had to choose again, I would not stay here. The price-quality ratio is not great, especially compared to other options in Hakuba. It feels more like a basic lodge than a proper full-service hotel.
