Halcyon, a Hotel in Cherry Creek

"First impressions?A modern boutique hotel located in the heart of the Cherry Creek North shopping neighborhood, Halcyon blends hipster-cool design with helpful amenities (hello, latte on arrival), modern art, and loads of style. The 154-room hotel wants to give its guests an experience, and it starts at the “kitchen counter” check-in desk with staff wearing satchels and typing on iPads. The counter doubles as a coffee bar, where complimentary beverages and snacks are served all day long. Likewise, a chic “living room” is outfitted a sectional couch and a mix of soothing grays, wood tones, and painted white brick. What’s the crowd like?Well-dressed and stylish—the Halcyon is a spot to see and be seen. How easy is check-in? If you don't know what to expect, arrival at the Halcyon can be a tad disorienting; it's easy to wonder: Am I in a coffee bar or a hotel lobby? But once you connect with the cheerful staff, you're whisked up to well-appointed, techy rooms. You can count on Enseo smart TV programming, loads of plugs for your laptop, and a vinyl record player. Anything else of note in rooms?High ceilings, white subway tiles, and brass accents give the rooms a New York-loft feel, while the comfy sheets and plentiful pillow selection are soft to the touch. Even the smallest "den" rooms feel spacious thanks to the minimalist white-wood-gray color scheme, and other, more expensive rooms offer terraces and even lofted sleeping areas for guests needing a bit more space. The vinyl record player in each room may seem kitchsy, but it's pretty damn cool. Rooms also are stocked with Nespresso brewing systems, Jonathan Adler bath products, and yoga mats for the zen inclined. How about dining and drinking? Two award-winning restaurants flank the Halcyon hotel; Departure serves modern Asian flavors from Top Chef-alum Gregory Gourdet, while Quality Italian elevates standard pasta into an art (order the chicken parm and thank us later). If you're looking for a cocktail, head to Elevated—the hotel's rooftop bar—for glasses of rosé, fresh cocktails, and epic views. Any other tips?A $30-per-day amenity fee is added to your bill, so you should take advantage. A courtesy Range Rover will drive you anywhere within Cherry Creek; lattes, fruit, and baked treats at the Kitchen Counter are complimentary; and a small but mighty fitness center does the job when you need to move. The Gear Garage on the main floor is also stocked with seasonal outdoor equipment, Piaggio scooters, New Belgium cruiser bikes, longboards, Go Pro cameras, and vinyl records, all available for guest use. Bottom line:.Halcyon embraces a fresh take on luxury, eschewing stuffiness in favor of chic, slightly edgy decor and a cool factor every Millennial wants to imitate. This is hotel living, elevated for a new generation." - Megan Barber

"If you happen to be in town for Cherry Creek’s annual arts festival in July, Halcyon makes a great base for exploring the neighborhood’s shops and galleries.Crisp white guest rooms with masculine touches have Nespresso machines, smart TVs, and sculptural turntables, as well as subway-tiled bathrooms with brass fittings and peekaboo showers; upgrade to a terrace room for a private outdoor space in which to bask in the Colorado sun. In keeping with its surroundings, the hotel displays more than 700 works by local artists, with an original piece in each room, but there’s plenty of reason to linger in the public spaces.A rooftop pool is lined with neutral-hued cabanas and white cushioned chaises, and two restaurants satisfy every kind of craving: Departure Restaurant + Lounge’s Asian-fusion menu covers miso ramen and roasted-duck fried rice, while Quality Italian offers shareable lasagna, dry-aged steaks, and cannoli prepared tableside. Just don’t be put off by the$30 per day amenity fee on your bill. Though it includes standards like WiFi and pool and fitness-center entry, it also gets you snacks and drinks at the Kitchen Counter, plus access to a Range Rover shuttle for stops around the neighborhood and the Gear Garage, which lends out everything from snowshoes and a Piaggio scooter to Leica and Go Pro cameras during your stay."

This is a really nice place to stay. Plenty of amenities, high quality service, and great allergen friendly food. The staff made every effort to accommodate us. Rae at the front was particularly kind and helpful. Valet is $65 and the parking garage nearby is free on Sunday. They also had a little 55cc scooter dubbed the hulk that we borrowed to go to a show, and a luxury car that will take you up to 3 miles.

Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming! We were originally planning our stay in Breckenridge, but that didn’t work out so we came down to Denver and found this lovely hotel! Right when we walked in the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly to us. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and perfect size for three people! On the roof they had ice skating which we enjoyed at night because of the lovely view! I would definitely stay here again! Definitely recommend if you are coming to Denver!!

What a fantastic time at the pool! I visited for Memorial Day weekend and had such incredible service from Leah! She was attentive and so friendly. The cocktails were delicious and the views from the rooftop can't be beat. This is such a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. Thank you Halycon team :) We will be back!

The front desk staff was absolutely incredible!! Ray was friendly and talkative! Always asking about our conference and ready for anything we needed! She truly has a gift of hospitality! Amari was friendly, always had a smile and a suggestion for things to do around the hotel. And Alejandro was so incredibly helpful! We actually have no idea what dept he’s in because he seemed to be everywhere ready to serve! Our attendees felt cared for from the moment they arrived!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Halcyon! The hotel itself is stylish, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what truly made our experience unforgettable was Marco, the bartender at the rooftop bar. He was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and made some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. Marco’s energy and attention to detail brought the whole vibe of the place to life. Don’t miss a chance to sit at his bar—you won’t regret it!

Halcyon was the best hotel experience I have had in a while! I was impressed with every detail. Customer attentiveness is what I felt during my whole stay, from the 24 hour coffee bar, to the water stations on every floor. The customer service was warm and welcoming and I felt like a GUEST not just a number renting a room. I'm looking forward to going back!

I had a wonderful stay at this boutique-style hotel! The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of everything. The room was a cozy retreat with unique touches, including a record player that added a charming vibe. The decor was stylish and modern, making the whole experience feel extra special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay with a touch of personality and great rooftop views!

Google
Sooo this is a very nice aesthetic hotel, comfortable bed, clean rooms and very customer friendly amenities. Was I wowed, unfortunately no but that doesn’t mean it’s not a nice hotel. The air in the rooms is not very powerful which is a big con for me as it is getting warmer. Positives for me is the welcome mats at every door, access to glass bottle to fill hot or cold water for yourself and the room layout is very comfy. The BEST thing is the record player with actual vi to records in the room. Now that is just fabulous. The weather was poor so I did not get to enjoy the pool but it was kind of small from what I could see but looks inviting. Overall stay was very nice, staff was very very pleasant and the stay was pleasant.

Yelp
super friendly staff. nice rooms. every room has a turntable and a selection of records. Mine's broken, I can't use it. Let me phone the front desk. The phone doesn't work either it's all here for looks. The TV works but lets cut the bs with everything else.

Yelp
Mostly good hotel but a bad experience on this date 9/21/24. Room - 5 of 5 Amenities 5 of 5 Rooftop pool and bar - 1 of 5 We stayed at this hotel, paid extra from the average in the area, because of the rooftop bar. As the front desk stated, the pool and bar are open until 9. We got back from dinner at 7 and went up there to enjoy the evening as planned. The bar was closed and loiterers, like 15 of them, were having a secret birthday party blasting terrible music from a boombox. The music from the hotel speakers were also playing. It was miserable and we left the roof within 15 min. Hotels staff were walking around cleaning up but took no action to the squatters, making me think they were friends of the staff. Needless to say, I will not stay here again due to poor oversight of a key feature of the business.

Yelp
When a friend texted me asking what I was doing for New Years I thought...maybe they want to do a couples trip.... Welp they invited themselves to visit us in lovely Denver. I gave them 4 Cherry Creek Hotels to stay ( and yes friends do not stay at my abode...ever!!). They decided on Halcyon and it was a great choice: From location ( a mere three blocks from my home), service, and amenities....Halycon cannot be beat. Halcyon is smack dab in our beloved Cherry Creek....shopping, dinning drinking oh my!! The first night we sauntered over to Sol for drinks and a light meal. The Service here is superb! From the front desk, Valet, and service providers everyone was friendly and top notch. Roof top pool with stunning views. Skating rink in the winter. Two wonderful restaurants: Local Jones & Quality Italian. The amazing hidden speakeasy B&GC....ask the front desk! And you have an amazing stay. My friends were thoroughly delighted and will be coming back in the summer. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This hotel has a skating rink on their rooftop for the winter... The Halcyon is situated in the heart of Denver's Cherry Creek North neighborhood with a winter wonderland waiting for guests - Halcyon on Ice. We kicked off the holiday season with a staycation here & had a wonderful time. We arrived at Halcyon and checked in. The front desk staff was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed before heading up to our room (they even gave our dog Forbes a homemade treat, which he loved). Halcyon is a pet-friendly hotel. We were in a Junior Suite room - the room was smooth and contemporary with all the necessary amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel. There was a Juliet balcony with views of the Cherry Creek neighborhood, large spaces and lots of light. In-room amenities featured Nespresso brewing systems, Jonathan Adler bath products, 100% cotton sheets, bathrobes, Smart TV programming and Wi-Fi. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The Jonathan Adler bath products added a chic touch to the bathroom. Once we were settled in our hotel room, we headed up to the rooftop to meet our friends at Halcyon on Ice. The roof was decked out in Christmas lights, garland & holiday decor. We each grabbed a pair of ice skates and did some laps on the rink. For holiday inspired cocktails we enjoyed Mexican Hot Chocolate made with chocolate, cinnamon, chili powder, caramel, Dulce de leche, whiskey & mezcal. The winter cabana was cozy and sat all four of us comfortably (each cabana can fit 6). Our cabana experience included 3-hours of rink access, ice skates, hand warmers, and hot cocoa. There was a space heater in each cabana, but it's still advised to wear warm clothes (it is winter in CO after all). We enjoyed dinner in the cabana - for shareable bites we had the Swedish Meatballs, Sourdough Pretzel & LJ Burger. General Manager, Peter and rooftop staff took great care of us in our cabana while we dined. The LJ Burger was a 1/2-pound patty, topped with bacon, smoked cheddar, onion, pickles, burger sauce, and served on a fluffy potato bun. The Sourdough Pretzel was a big hit and was made with warm sourdough and served alongside hatch chile cheese dipping as well as whole grain mustard. Now that's a winter experience you can't get anywhere else! Tickets to Halcyon on Ice are $30 per person and include a pair of rental skates. The Winterized Cabanas can be reserved in advance for a $250 cabana fee with a $100 food and beverage minimum at the time of reservation.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here in late September and I would dare to say it was in the top 5 hotels I've stayed at for business or pleasure! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with exceptional service. The front desk staff allowed me to check in early and waved the fee, updating me to a bit larger room. They have two restaurant onsite and a rooftop bar/pool. Room itself was large and gorgeous- on the 7th floor you have high ceilings and it takes a bit longer to cool. Tons of nice touches- coffee maker, yoga stuff, record player, nice desk and couch, Juliet balcony, and nice robes. Beds and pillows were so comfy. You can hear a bit of sound from the hallway but the spot isn't a party spot so shouldn't be too much of an issue. Bathroom has gorgeous products, robes were comfy, and they actually use hand soap instead of forcing you to use the bar soap. Bathroom was spacious too and so was the shower. Front desk provides free coffee like espresso or pumpkin spice lattes; they also have breakfast muffins. Free happy hour too with beer and wine which was great. Would love to spend another trip here!

Yelp
We had a pleasant three night stay at Halcyon this past month. This was our second visit to Halcyon. The location is perfect. The hotel is a mere five minute walk to Whole Foods, Shake Shack, Starbuck, The Cricket, and right in the heart of Cherry Creek shops. At the lobby, Sandra checked us in with a smile. The check in experience was quick and seamless. What I like best about our stay was the excellent daily cleaning service. Our room (#716) was spotless and fresh each day. In front of the elevator in our floor was a very convenient self-serve water fountain with access to still and sparkling water. The late-afternoon wine reception at the lobby is a nice touch. Our daily rate included breakfast at Local Jones, located near the lobby. A yummy start to the day. A fantastic Cherry Creek hotel~

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay at the Halcyon. It's close to a lot of restaurants and shops and about 40 mins from the airport. The staff is extremely attentive and there's someone available 24/7 to answer your questions. They really thought of some nice touches to make your stay more convenient, like the hot and cold water stations on each floor and the muffin and coffee station in the mornings. There are also two restaurants in the lobby. They also have a nice rooftop with a bar and pool overlooking the city.

Yelp
Lovely stay at this boutique hotel. I loved all the little touches. +Great location. Walking distance to Whole Foods, Starbucks and many great shops and restaurants including truefoods. +Lovely little touches throughout the property. +Filtered, hot or sparkling water access points on each floor. Cute milk jugs to keep water in your room. +cute door mats and info pockets outside each room +Records and record players in each room +coffee and wine served at the front desk +The rooms felt large and spacious. +Appreciated the long bench to hold my luggage. +yoga mat and block in each room +Cocktail set up +chef makes amazing gluten free blueberry muffins. +Yummy dinners catered by the chef for our group meeting. While I didn't get to use or explore the gear garage I would love to come back and visit again! Only a few things missing- a clock in the room, usb ports and Marriott points. And white noise would be amazing.....

Yelp
Joan and MyKayla are the best and most attentive bartenders I've seen in a while. Amazing atmosphere all around with a rooftop pool and bar, as well as great food and clean rooms. 10/10 would get kicked outta here again!

Yelp
The staff here is horrifically rude and not respectful. I met the maintenance director, and his knowledge of the building was that of a 6-year-old. I am surprised you replaced Bill with someone like this. I have always loved staying here until this guy replaced someone as good as the previous gentleman. Pretty sad.

Yelp
This is a high-end hotel experience for sure! From the latte bar when you walk in to the still and sparkling water stations on each floor, the amenities are crazy thoughtful. The most significant part to me is the gear rental! For NO COST you can check out bikes, cameras, picnic gear, hiking gear, even mopeds/electric scooters! This hotel is in a gorgeous corner of Denver, about 10 min walk from the Botanic gardens, 15 min drive to MeowWolf, and easy access to all of the natural splendor of Colorado. In addition to a gorgeous stay as a guest, their event planning is superb! We worked with Quincey to host an event here and it went off without a hitch in a well-equipped conference room and rooftop welcome party and lunch spread. I highly recommend Halcyon for both a romantic getaway AND your event needs. A+ work, Halcyon!!

Yelp
Went here one night to check out the roof top, and no one seemed to want to work, or serve my father and me. Took forever to get a drink and it was just okay. Went back the following night and even slower service. It seemed like everyone was new the drinks were horrible for how expensive they were. Pretty view but that's it.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Staff focuses on customer satisfaction. Fun area of Denver. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. We arrived around 4 PM, and we were immediately offered a glass of champagne. After a very nice chat with Theresa at the desk, we found our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. I particularly appreciated the nice touches like a comfortable seating area and reading lights. We loved the pool with its views of the mountains and the rooftop bar. The next morning we borrowed the bikes from the gear garage and rode over to DU for a visit and enjoyed Washington park. Also, I forgot my phone charger and the desk staff offered to charge my phone in their employee area which I greatly appreciated.

Yelp
This review is for a three night stay at Halcyon in October 2022. I have never been more disappointed with a hotel in my life; this hotel failed to meet basic hospitality standard and protocols. It is a motel with a ritz price tag. I wish I had filtered the Yelp reviews to see the 1 and 2 star ratings because many of them describe what we experienced. Yes, they have free pastries and lattes 24/7 and a daily happy hour but, ... General/dirty/broken - the two rooms we booked were no where close to each other (despite booking months in advance), there were open/used sugar packets sitting right on top of the in room coffee station (lack of housekeeping), the water bottles at the water stations leak, the terrace in one of the rooms was completely sub par compared to the other, the furniture on the terrace was dirty and soiled with red wine stains, the shower door was broken, the phone in one room didn't work, the robes had weird, disgusting stains inside... Service - we called before booking this hotel to confirm their rooftop bar and pool would be open during the time of our stay and were told it would be but in fact the rooftop bar is closed for the season, there are no lounge chairs or umbrellas at the pool, when we called to ask about umbrellas the woman who answered was extremely rude and to top it all off, the person claiming to be the manager is THE WORST, he is unapologetic, ridiculously unprofessional and mumbled as I walked away dissatisfied after a conversation with him - when I asked why he was doing that, he claimed to be talking to himself (which was not true and is not ok). No boundaries/unauthorized entry into room - The minor inconveniences, though starting to add up, were something I could look past but the real issues began when my boyfriend tried to surprise me by sending dessert plates and a bottle of champagne to my room. Because the two rooms with my name on them had do not disturb signs, the staff told my boyfriend that they would keep the delivery at the front desk for pickup ... this would've been fine however, because a friend in one of the rooms called for towels, staff apparently took this to mean they could barge into that room; three staff members (including this alleged manager) barged into my friends room, she was wearing a face mask and a robe, completely unsuspecting and confused. They dropped the items off and left without speaking a word to her. We asked how and why they would do this (thank god my friend wasn't completely naked). The manager told me that the request for towels gave them the "authority" to enter the room despite the do not disturb sign and leave the desserts and champagne in the room without letting anyone know what it was, who it was from or who it was for (no note or anything). For this reason, no one knew it was intended for me and I never received it. I brought this up to the "manager" and he raised his voice and argued with me, he become defensive and claimed his staff was being "persecuted" and even after I made it very clear that I didn't want anything other than them acknowledge the mistake, they proceeded to blame my friend (for not identifying herself when they burst into her room unexpectedly), blame my boyfriend (for not telling them to do their job correctly), blame me (for having two rooms with my name on them), blame everyone except for simply saying the words sorry. Billing - this hotel is obnoxiously over priced for what you get. Also, make sure you check your bill because they imagined up overnight parking and added it to our bill, when I brought up the incorrect charge at checkout, the response was not "oh I'm sorry, I don't know how that happened" it was "so you don't have a car?" --- who is training these people?? Speaking of parking, the first day we stayed here, we were sitting outside and saw an entire episode of drama whilst the valet had misplaced someone's key... wild. I am appalled at this experience and it has completely over shadowed the kind concierge and the 2 nice employees (out of 10) that we encountered at the front desk. I am embarrassed for this hotel and am shocked that someone like this "manager" "Cliff" or Mr. Goss, is allowed to interact with people at all. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Yelp
The Halcyon is one of the best hotels ever. The staff is super professional and welcoming, and the ambience is next to none. We visited for my 40th birthday and I've been dreaming about my return ever since. When we checked in we were greeted by warm smiles, cookies and craft beer. All available anytime you take a trip to the lobby. They also have a complementary gear room where you can rent mopeds, bicycles, GoPros and other fun gadgets to explore the city. The lobby and lounge area are very stylish and modern. I absolutely love the interior of this hotel. The rooms feel more like someone's stylized apartment than a generic hotel room. Complete with artwork, yoga mat, and premium bed linens and pillows. Don't worry about leaving your favorite pillow behind, because they have you covered. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us when we got to my room, which was such a wonderful touch. We stayed in a king terrace room that was amazing because of the light snow that had fallen the morning we arrived. Such a private, yet convenient setting to enjoy the city. There are some wonderful views from the terrace as well. There are so many amazing sights to see in the Cherry Creek area, including great steakhouses, boutiques, and parks. One of my favorite areas of Denver by far. I love everything about the area but the room made me not want to leave. Nice amenities, including the vinyl turntable, which you can get records for in the gear room. Such a contemporary yet vintage ambience. Some of the artwork in my room was so nice I tried to look it up online, and found out that it was actually quite pricey. The bathrooms are wonderful too, with a great industrial feel, spacious shower, and the most delectable soap, conditioner, and body wash I've ever smelled. I quickly looked up their cosmetic vendor online because I wanted to purchase and enjoy that scent when I got home. Unfortunately, we had to check out on Mother's Day, but they did not let me leave without serving me a delicious pomegranate Mimosa while I was checking out. She even topped it off before I left. Talk about hospitality! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Had a very cool vibe. However, my $233 room turned into nearly $400 due to all the extra fees. Don't accept the room upgrade, you'll get extra charges, taxes, and fees that pile up. Even if you don't use their amenities, you'll still get charged $35. Wish there was more transparency during the booking/check in process.

Yelp
This pool is a gem! Amazing roof too views, the best poolside service, refreshing drinks. A little pricey but worth the splurge to get a day pass for the pool and treat yo self!

Marc F.

Yelp
The food here was spectacular. From the assorted in house made charcuterie meats pair well with a nice selection of cheeses. Following that was a decadent crab dip, and some amazingly tender swedish meatballs. Finished off the night with a beautiful NY Strip. The service and drinks were amazing. Definitely be back for another celebration!

Yelp
**Title: Disappointing Experience - Beware of Excessive Fees** (1 star) I recently stayed at the Halcyon Hotel in Denver, and I must say it was a highly disappointing experience. While the hotel's facade and location were enticing, my excitement quickly turned into frustration upon receiving the bill. The initial room rate seemed reasonable, but to my dismay, the final bill was inflated with a laundry list of excessive additional fees. It felt like a blatant attempt to squeeze extra money from guests. I found these fees to be insulting, as they were not adequately disclosed during the booking process or upon check-in. Furthermore, despite mentioning the issue to the staff, their response was apathetic and unsympathetic. It left me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a paying customer. The room itself was mediocre at best. It lacked the promised amenities, and the cleanliness was questionable. I expected more from a supposedly upscale hotel like Halcyon. The overall experience left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I cannot recommend this hotel to others. If you plan to stay here, be wary of the hidden fees that may catch you off guard and detract from your enjoyment. I sincerely hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements to avoid disappointing future guests. As for me, I will not be returning to the Halcyon Hotel in Denver.

Kim G.

Yelp
Wonderfully fun and cozy hotel in Denver's highly sought-after Cherry Creek neighborhood. From the wine, coffee or water offered at check-in, to the perfectly laid out and stocked rooms, comfy beds and terrific shower, to the gear garage loaning bikes and skateboards, to the Quality Italia dinners and Local Joanne's breakfast, you can't beat Halcyon Hotel.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Lacking on several service aspects. The hotel restaurant Local Jones is a mess and is incredibly slow. Go elsewhere. Lots of confusion around the pool Cabana rental and what was available. We received an email response about our Cabana questions 5 days late and half way through our rental. (Our waiter at the Cabana, Hunter, provided 5 star service). Pool was good - but anyone can walk in off the street and use the pool. The room was small but nice. Pretty noisy - could hear people in the hallway and a baby crying next door. Our bathroom sink did not drain and our shower leaked into the bedroom - carpet between the shower wall and bed was soaking wet. Advised the front desk at checkout who was un-phased and unapologetic. Would most likely stay again but book a different room type and not utilize hotel bar/food options.

Yelp
Such a cool hotel! Great location, awesome amenities and the staff is so engaged and friendly. The rooftop space, including RareBird is so cool!

Yelp
Incredible hotel. Every detail is considered. It was really remarkable, and I'm picky with 5 star hotel experience. Staff were well trained, restaurants were yummy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went to the Cinema in the Sky event and had a blast! The drinks were great and we got to see Coraline with the sunset. Defintely recommend!

Yelp
I enjoyed my 3 night stay at this Cherry Creek hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. The one odd thing is no ice. I went to front desk as did others . Staff would go to bar and come back with a cup of ice. I missed having easily accessible ice. They do have water & sparkling water dispenser on each floor & water is cool. My room had king bed. It was lovely cheerful space. I really like the hotel car service that took me and picked me up for things within 3 mile radius. Overall a great place. Easy walking distance in Cherry creek area.

Yelp
Frontier Airlines cancelled my flight and couldn't get me into Denver until Sunday. When I called the Hotel they chose to charge me a nights stay anyway. Though the reps hands are probably tied the management should think better of how they treat their customers.

Yelp
After a fine meal at Quality Italian, we by mistake (pressed the elevator button letter "R") arrived at the rooftop experience, Rare Bird. I wanted to point out the simply stunning ambience you are welcomed by when those elevator doors open. But even more impressive was the level of attentive service and care given by one particular staff member / bartender and I wanted to signify him directly by name because he was absolutely the epitome of excellent concierge level hospitality service. His name is Joan (yohan) H. He provided not only exemplary service, but quite honestly, was precisely what you want as a staff member of a restaurant or hotel. He went above and beyond to make sure that our party was completely cared for and ended almost every interaction with "it is my pleasure, whatever I can do" Joan clearly understood the assignment - I am not sure if he studied hospitality or hotel management in school, but it definitely shines through in his attentive care, his professional, yet charming and fun demeanor, and his overall level of expertise in the customer experience. I hope that his upper management gets a chance to read this review because it also shines through on their performance as well and in my estimation, a good team is a representation of solid leadership and training. Rare Bird / Halcyon should commend Joan for his performance because it was truly "rare" and quite exceptional.

Yelp
It was my first time visiting Denver, and I was traveling alone, so I wanted to make sure I stayed at a nice hotel in a safe area. This hotel had everything I could ask for- beautiful rooms, rooftop pool/ bar, great food, gym, free bikes and games, happy hour, etc. Everything was so clean, and the workers were all super friendly. I got to the hotel 5 hours earlier than check in, and they were still able to set up my room within 20 min of me arriving. I also loved the area this was located in. I'm very into health and fitness, so I noticed they had all kinds of gyms and healthy foods just walking distance from the hotel. It's literally impossible to get bored when staying at this hotel. I didn't even need an uber getting from place to place, unless I was going downtown. I will 100% be staying here any other time I visit because it made my trip that much better. It's definitely worth the money, and I couldn't recommend it enough!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed Saturday thru Tuesday morning. The room was kind of small especially since we had sleeper sofa for my son to sleep On. It was hard to exit the room with it open. The bathrooms were nice had weird little window that you could see into the bathroom from the bedroom that was weird. Overall great stay they have a rooftop pool rather small but still there if you want to use it. They also had a hot tub right beside it. They said there was a pool bar I didn't see it. They did come around and take drink orders. It was a good stay oh they have complimentary happy hour 3-5 free beer and wine. They also have coffee 24 hrs day if you don't want to sleep. Would recommend for nice stay was peaceful.

Yelp
It has potencial, but needs improvement. I'm a big business traveler +70 night/year and being a Globalist at Hyatt and Platinum at Marriott and IHG, I was really expecting more of this hotel. I tend to think that hotels that are not branch owned or franchises, they may tend to care more for guests, but that's not the case on my experience with Halcyon. First, slow check in. Also, the Valet decided to use my Mercedes car to transport others people purses/luggage, which was shocking. Front desk forgot to set the alarm that I requested at 6am. They didn't have decaf (they charge for hotel amenities with 24h coffee), and they didn't send me the invoice as I requested at check out. On the other side, the room was nice, mattress comfortable, and everything was spotless. Good location and good restaurants. If the customer experience would be par with the location and building, this should be a 5 star, but unfortunately it was not on my case. And this is a 154 room's boutique hotel. Guest experience should be more important... They didn't even asked me how was my stay. Honestly, a little disappointed. Maybe your stay will be better, but this was mine.

Yelp
We had a fantastic staycation at the Halcyon. Pre covid I had been coming to this hotel for a bunch of midweek events they had on the rooftop, and always wanted to stay here. Now that I know more about this hotel and the different locations around the country I will definitely be trying them all. First I want to start with the kitchen counter front desk. This is such an amazing idea and really added a lot to our stay. At check in we were offered complimentary local beer and wine during happy hour which is 7 days a week from 3-6. We then got pastries and fancy coffee curated by my favorite local cherry creek coffee shop this morning, Aviano. We had planned on walking down the street to their shop but didn't need to! The rooftop last night was also amazing. It has views of the mountains, a pool, hot tub and cabanas along side their bar and lots of space to socially distance. The rooftop also has a full bar and snacks on the other side of the gate that served us as a quiet space with views of the city this morning for our coffee. It wasn't open so we had it to ourselves which was a great spot for a pre brunch hour. The rooms were very nice and the shower was fantastic. They were well curated in design but I think I the best room amenity was the oversized robe. I choose cherry creek over downtown these days due to the safety of the neighborhood, the delicious restaurants, shopping, and workout studios like Bar Method (which is currently selling weekly packages) and abundance of outdoor eating. Parking can some times be an issue but there are parking garages across from Halcyon in addition to their valet. Quality Italian and Local Jones are great additions to Halycon as well! If you're staying here definitely try them out!

Yelp
Stay here! We booked last minute for a quick get away in the city & now I want to come back ASAP just to stay here again. The service from check in to check out was on point. Even late night at the front desk and early morning room service. While the price point may be a little higher than others the amenities and service are well worth it & the rooms are pretty large for being downtown Thanks for a great stay!

Yelp
Great new concept. Hip, clean, and great location. Roof top bar and pool area is a scene. Could use better food service. Pool cabana rental was NOT worth it.

Yelp
My new go to hotel in Denver. I had records and a record player in my room. I walked to world class dining and shopping. I visited the rooftop. Do that early in your trip - you will thank me. The best avoid downtown and the homeless tent villages and stay here in Cherry Creek!!

Yelp
I am very minimal when it comes to reviewing anything. But I definitely have to give this place its praise. It all starts with the staff. Wow, the vibe they set off the bat is incredible! Great positive energy that made me feel right at home. Honestly, I have not felt that type of welcoming anywhere I have stayed in the last 10 years. And I pretty much travel most of the year, work and pleasure. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. I have to say one of my favorite features is the water dispensers they have on every floor. From water to sparkling water to hot water. They also have glass bottles for you to fill and take to your room. Absolute game changer for post night out! Love the gym, great space. Usually hotel gyms are really small and makes it hard to get a decent workout in. This one has space! From Cardio machines, to free weights, to cable machine. That's a win all around. The roof top pool and jacuzzi did not disappoint. Saturday they had a DJ and the bar was open! Was able to catch the sunset down the Rocky Mountains with my beautiful wife. That was an unforgettable moment for sure. Theres a restaurant/bar in the lobby that was always popping off! Great social atmosphere. But the hotel is also not limited to MANY options just steps away. Walking score of 100. Safe to say this is forever more my go-to in the area. Keep up the good work guys!!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! From checking, to happy hour, to dinner, every staff member we encountered was awesome!!! In this hiring environment I don't know how they recruited and kept so many amazing people. Special shout out to Melanie who works in the Local Jones restaurant. She provided our group with impeccable service during our New Year's dining experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Yelp
Just checked in to Halcyon and it is just as great as we remember from our first visit in 2017. John, David, and Michael were amazing at check-in and we look forward to a great weekend in our wonderful top floor suite! Thanks John - your greeting was awesome!!

Anu J.

Yelp
The hotel front desk, valet and service at the restaurant, Local Jones was excellent. House keeping was good, except there was no service on July 4th with no prior warning. The sheets were stained and there is a giant window between the bathroom and bedroom, which allows the bathroom light to penetrate the bedroom waking up anybody who is asleep. The phone was not hooked making it impossible to order room service. The saving grace is the location of the hotel, which is walking distance from good restaurants. There are tons of bottles and a drinking water faucet on each floor which is great. Free coffee in the morning, free happy hour wine and brownies are fantastic.

Yelp
I've been here once before on a staycation with my boyfriend. We came here this time for this time for the Valentine's Day weekend. The staff here is always stellar and I love the decor of the hotel as a whole. We had some issues this time with our room, but the staff went above and beyond to correct them and we were very appreciative. All of the rooms Come with a record player which is a nice touch! They also have a 3-9pm complimentary beer and wine for guests and also 24/7 coffee station where they can make cappuccino's etc. They have a rooftop pool and hot tub and they keep the pool heated in the winter which was nice. I love this hotel and I'll definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
Nice hotel. All the charm of your modern day boutique hotel with a little Denver flare. I enjoyed my stay but was not blown away. Holy crap that review rhymed!

Yelp
Love this hotel. It's in a great location. Near excellent restaurants and stores. Service is great. Rooms are not huge, but are comfortable and bright. Good bedding. It's my go-to spot in Denver.

Yelp
BEWARE. our three rooms (booked 3 months ago) were just cancelled (1 week before our trip) due to overbooking. I just looked at their website and rooms are available for $1000 more than we paid because Taylor Swift is in town. This hotel is run by a con artist and coward who won't return calls. Terrible management.

Yelp
Vegan reviewer here. I was so impressed with the hotel, staff and amenities! I stayed here a couple months ago for 4 days in mid December with my boyfriend. From the moment we arrived the valet greeted us and upon entering the staff was warm and welcoming. They were kind the entire trip with everything we needed all the way up until the moment we checked out. Their hospitality was on point. My favorite part? The amenities! The pool on the roof was heated and the hot tub was piping hot and overlooking great views. They have beer and wine happy hour from 3-9 PM FOR FREE for guest. Excuses me?! They also have a gear garage which offers a variety of cameras for (including Polaroid with film), bikes, skateboards, picnic baskets etc. that you can rent for a couple hours. This includes vespa scooters you can get around town on instead of a Lyft. Excuse me?! They also make specialty coffee for you (like a simple latte or anything espresso based) and offer non-dairy milk, 24 hours a day... FOR FREE. Can't forget to mention the free car service they offer. They'll take you anywhere within a couple miles. The room had interesting decor and the bed was spacious, clean and comfortable. Each floor has a water station plus tea bags if you'd like a hot beverage. Two restaurants are attached to this hotel with Departure having a KILLER vegan selection. The location is the middle of downtown Cherry Creek with Whole Foods within walking distance. I'd definitely come back and recommend staying here.

Yelp
We're local but we like to stay here on special occasions just for fun. The amenities are fantastic, everything clean and very cool decor. The "gear garage" is a very fun touch! Walking distance to everything you could want in downtown Cherry Creek. The rooftop pool is great if you come in the summer and they have excellent showers!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and will return the next time I visit Denver. Most hotels charge a "resort fee", and often I find the fee frivolous, or just another method for hotels to drive profits. However, this hotel actually offers a great amenities. Such as unlimited coffee 24/7, including lattes and cappuccinos (Intellegencia brand) for hotel guests. There is also unlimited tea. From 3-9 daily, there is complimentary wine and beer, and a continental pastry breakfast is provided in the morning. Guests can also rent bikes, skateboards, and other gear to cruise Cherry Creek. The room was nice as well, especially the rain shower, and quality furniture. A Nespresso machine in our room was a nice addition as well. The only area that could improve was the gym, but otherwise this was a five star experience.

Yelp
I love this hotel and would give it 7 stars if I could. The entire hotel is beautiful and well appointed. However, it's the staff that make it a total Rockstar among hotels. Everyone from the front desk on was extremely customer focused. I rarely write reviews for hotels, but the Halcyon Hotel is exceptional in every way. A major shout out to Courtney and Irvyn for the extra assist, you really helped me out! Not only did you do me a huge favor, but you asked me if wanted a drink while I waited for you! Pick me up off the floor, it's been quite some time since I've run across such hospitality. Also a quick shout out to the kitchen who quickly provided two gluten/dairy free cookies for me to give to a guest with gluten allergy. All I can say is WOW. I wouldn't hesitant for one second to recommend this venue for your next corporate event, wedding or staycation! Bravo Halcyon, my hat's off to you!
