Cute, quaint, nice for a staycation. Could use more towels in the bathroom or leave them on the beds rather than in the bathroom. The place was clean and neat but you share the upstairs bathroom with everyone else that stays. We had two twin beds in our room, not sure about the other bedrooms. I just know that we woke up to no towels and a sopping wet floor and bathroom sink. The backyard had a beautiful view. Located in a quiet area, but you can hear everything from other guests. Breakfast was nice and there is a cash fridge available in case you want water or can sodas, it was a little pricey but convenient if you don’t have other options. The kitchen was my favorite part of the whole place. And the original wood in the home was beautiful. The sitting area on the first floor was very nice and enjoyable. I would possibly book again but maybe choose a private bathroom if available.

It was a great place to stay! I loved the house and how everything was labeled and easy to understand. Really sweet people and a wonderful setting. Clean house and proper accommodations were avaliable if needed (iron, fan, flashlight ect..). The room was clean and well decorated. The kingfisher room was gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable. No complaints to be had at all! The breakfast was really delicious and all organic/local/homemade. I had the homemade Granola and yogurt and I loved it. Combined with the fresh fruit and fresh bread it was delicious. I plan to attend more events in Lawrence and this will be my first stop to stay :)

The B&B/home is beautiful, relaxing and very inviting. The location is perfect, close to downtown shopping and restaurants as well as KU. Our room was very nice; comfortable bed and beautifully updated bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was perfect. Will stay again.

Booked our stay on the internet - everything was lovely. Spotlessly clean, super cozy place very close to main street. Nice breakfast. Will definitely return if in Lawrence again.

This quaint B&B is more than meets the eye. Housed in a historic house at the corner of 10th & Ohio , it is close to the KU campus and to Massachusetts Street. The rooms are spacious & elegant , the breakfast exquisite, and the hosts bend over backwards to make your stay an experience you'll remember fondly . It will become a regular stop on my trips to Lawrence & the KC area.

This place is very comfortable and relaxing. Thick towels, comfy beds, and delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon, pumpkin bread, freshly cut fruit, and orange juice. You will never feel like you are more at home.

Yelp
Clean, beautifully appointed, and well managed lodgings. Good breakfasts Easy to locate Pleasant staff, as well. Perfect for us, as we're just forty-five minutes away from my husband's family in Kansas City, Missouri when we stay here -- just enough distance so that we can enjoy ourselves without having family members "all up in our business." Niiiiiiiiiice!

Yelp
Halcyon House is WONDERFUL! I was in a wedding last weekend in Lawrence and all of us bridesmaids stayed at Halcyon the night before. Michelle was extremely friendly and accommodating! The day of the wedding we were able to all get ready together, have breakfast, and take some photos in the house. Breakfast was delicious and included gluten free options. There was also a fridge available for guests to use which was helpful for keeping our mimosa ingredients nice and cold. The house itself is a beautiful older home that's been so nicely updated and decorated. The house has so much character! I'd highly recommend Halcyon to anyone stopping in Lawrence. The house is located near Mass Street, and there's plenty of street parking available.

Yelp
Fantastic! My fiance and I spent a night here and absolutely loved it. It's just so charming! Halcyon House provides 9 rooms. Eight are inside the house and then there's Carriage House in the back, which is where we stayed. We were a bit reluctant to spend the money at first ($149 a night) but we loved it so much it was worth it! The Carriage House was like a tiny apartment with a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom (with jacuzzi tub) and a small kitchenette. There was also a deck out front so we could have friends over to hang out with us. The room itself was gorgeous--high ceilings, loft style, cool decor, SUPER comfy bed. As for the inside of the house, it was just as lovely. We didn't see any of the rooms but the kitchen is beautiful and homey with large windows looking out on the garden. There's also a sitting room with a TV and sofas for just hanging out. The staff was overly nice and they went out of their way to accommodate us in every way. And breakfast was delish! To add to the perfection, the house is just three blocks away from Mass Street, so you can wander over to hang out and it's not a far walk if you're drunk! We will DEFINITELY stay here again! But book way in advance, the rooms fill up fast!

Yelp
Wonderful experience. We will be back and will recommend the Halcyon House II to anyone who wants a special memory to last a life time. Everything is immaculate and the whole experience was exemplary. The rooms are unique and we loved the Master Suite. The breakfast was excellent and prepared to individual tastes.

Yelp
HH deserves all of its 5-star ratings. For two years in a row, a team of my colleagues have resided at HH for 5-6 days while working in Lawrence and some surrounding areas. The inn keepers have been very accommodating to our diverse set of needs, including making early breakfasts for us. Although my trip to Lawrence was for business, the stay in the HH was very relaxing. In addition to the beauty of the inn itself, the location is priceless. While staying at Halcyon, you can easily walk in to downtown Lawrence, and the KU campus, and it's only a short drive to The Merc--another must-stop for all visitors to the LK. With a wide array of room types, I think HH is a good fit for a diverse group of travelers. Make sure to consider it if you're planning a trip to the Lawrence area.

Yelp
Great rooms at very affordable prices--as low as $55 a night with a huge delicious breakfast! Nice people, excellent location: walking distance to downtown and campus. Quite close to perfect.

Yelp
The house is lovely, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The beds are comfy, with nice linens. The location couldn't be better--easy walks to campus and downtown. The staff are friendly and helpful. Why not five stars? The breakfasts, while plentiful, are uninspired. Scrambled eggs, granola, yogurt--not what we expect from a B&B. I asked for black tea the first morning, and understood when they were out. I was surprised, though, that by the third morning we were there they still hadn't replenished their supply.

Yelp
Fantastic place! Reluctant to review because I prefer to stay when visiting Lawrence and don't need the competition.

Yelp
Very nice people. Karen was kind of host as there can be. A wonderful room with plenty of space and exceptional clean. Breakfast made to order and with a smile. For the price, I can't imagine staying anywhere else when in Lawrence myself.
